This book was such a fun read! I was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time. Tris and Rafe are sent on a work retreat in Maui, and the vacation setting made the story even more enjoyable. The slow burn tension was so well done—there was so much yearning, banter, and build-up, which I absolutely loved. That said, even as someone who enjoys slow burns, this one felt a little slower than I prefer, especially in the beginning when Rafe’s feelings seemed unclear and he gave mixed signals.
One thing I really appreciated was how Nisha J. Tuli explored the challenges of being a woman of color in STEM. It was woven into the story so naturally and added an important layer to Tris’s journey. However, because we’re in Tris’s head the entire time, a lot of her inner monologue revolves around how physically attractive Rafe is, which at times felt a little excessive. I also felt like their emotional connection developed very quickly considering they had been work adversaries for five years and only started their relationship partway through the retreat.
That being said, this book was one big series of HR violations, but honestly, I was here for it. It was packed with some of my favorite tropes—slow burn, rivals to lovers, one bed, forced proximity, and a possessive MMC—all set against a dreamy vacation backdrop. If you love workplace romance with incredible banter and slow-burning tension, this one is definitely worth picking up!

I loved this contemporary romance debut from Nisha J Tuli! I love everything of hers and this was no exception. The spice was ON POINT! I love her romantasies but I hope she writes more contemporary too!

Sadly, this did not reach five stars for me because I really did not like the main character very much. Her constant mood changes at the drop of a hat came across as immature, and since we never get Rafe's pov, it was hard to see why he was attracted to her.
However, the plot itself is good as well as the writing. The spicy scenes were hot without being too much.
Most importantly, there are things addressed in this book that I loved seeing in a rom-com. Being a woman, especially a woman of color, in a predominantly male field is difficult and as much as we like to believe things have changed, they really haven't. The micro aggressions and the being passed over for promotions for men who are far less qualified is still way too common. I commend the author for making the main character's experience with this part of the story.

I loved this book.
She knocked this RomCom out of the park.
If you need a fun cleansing read this one is for you
This had some very real workplace tropes for women glass ceiling and sexual advances that weren't welcome, but it was an awesome read and I loved it.

Not Safe for Work
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This confirms I will read anything Nisha writes!
I read her Artefacts of Ouranos series and loved it, so I was excited to try a contemporary romance by her.
Work rivals find themselves sharing a room on a tropical company retreat, and are trying their very best to stay hating each other..
This reminded me of Ali Hazelwood-esque themes with the rom com in STEM setting, women fighting the patriarchy, and tall, handsome, and chiseled MMC- and I ate it up!
This was a fun and cute read and would be perfect for a summer beach read!
Tropes include:
Spicy rom com
Tropical vacation
Work rivals to lovers
Forced proximity
One room/bed
Slow burn
Women in STEM

Nisha J. Tuli strikes again with a steamy, deliciously fun story in a totally new genre! I loved seeing her stretch her wings with contemporary romance and absolutely excelling. It was also really meaningful to know she channeled a lot of her personal experiences into this story. As a corporate girlie, I sympathized with Nisha and Tris's experiences in the corporate world, and I though Nisha captured the aggravating experience perfectly.
Tris was an incredible character who felt so realistic to me. She was funny, bold, driven, and confident in a way that made me want to be her friend. And seeing her banter with Rafe was an absolute delight. Sure, some of their interactions were a bit over the top, but overall, I really loved the established dynamic between them.
Rafe puts on an arrogant, entitled mask around Tris because he assumes she wants nothing to do with him. And she doesn't -- until they're thrown together in a tropical paradise for three weeks. Forced to share a room. And eventually a bed.
Rafe might be one of my fave MMCs. I just really love a soft man who worships women, and you can tell he cared about Tris SO MUCH beyond the sizzling attraction between them. I really appreciated how the intimacy built up between them, and how we saw their walls come down in real time. The third-act conflict wasn't my favorite, but I loved the ending and can't wait to see what Nisha writes next in contemporary romance!
If you're looking for a quick, fun, SPICY and really sweet workplace rivals to lovers romance, this is your book!

This book was awesome! It was a very well executed office rom com with my favorite trope: enemies to lovers!! I really enjoyed this!

This was such a delightful and fun read! It was humorous, sexy and also touched on important workplace dynamics for women, which the author has said is from her own experience. This book is a workplace romance with an enemies to lovers romance plotline that kept me hooked and turned the pages as fast as I could. The MMC was so protective and comforted the FMC, I adored that dynamic and there was also a one bed trope that was so good. This is a very classic workplace romcom, but with a fresh subplot of women empowerment which I just loved. The characters had blistering tension, so don't worry this book is also very sexy!
I read this in one sitting after a bad day and this really did pick my mood up so thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Not safe for work
3.5 ⭐️
This book is a workplace romance, enemies to lovers, one room, forced proximity - between Tris and Rafe.
Rafe is the big bosses son, Tris is a talented engineer in a male dominated industry.
I enjoyed the idea of the story, but felt it fell short in the communication department. One minute they’re fighting and the next they’re getting a long, but not in a very cohesive way.
I did enjoy the story, but I felt like the communication aspect fell short.
Throughly enjoyed Tris standing up for herself and telling her horrible bosses to pound sand.

"Not Safe for Work" by Nisha J. Tuli is a captivating blend of humor, romance, and insightful commentary on workplace dynamics. This is the first of Tuli's books that I've read, and it exceeded all expectations.
The story follows Trishara Malik, a determined engineer striving to break barriers. After being overlooked for a promotion in favor of her rival, Rafe Gallagher—the boss's son—Tris is disheartened. An unexpected opportunity arises when both are selected for a corporate retreat in Hawaii, only to find themselves sharing the honeymoon suite due to a booking error. This setup paves the way for their enemies-to-lovers journey.
Tuli masterfully develops the tension and chemistry between Tris and Rafe, making their evolving relationship both authentic and engaging. The witty banter and slow burn kept me eagerly turning pages.

Such a fun, steamy, enemies-to-lovers workplace romance! Loved the themes of empowerment, especially for BIPOC women in STEM, the romantic setting, and the character arcs.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for access to this eARC. I am always down for an enemies-to-lovers romcom. I could very much empathize with Tris and the struggles with men in the workplace. I enjoyed the banter between her and Rafe, and the interspersed humor. There were some very funny lines.
The forced proximity angle also worked well for the setting they were in. I liked the added cast of characters they met at the conference, although some could have been fleshed out a bit more. Towards the middle of the book, I was tired of Tris always running away from conversations. Once she and Rafe fully communicated, I was back on board.
Overall a 4 star read.

4.5 ⭐️ WOWOWOWOW this is her FIRST romcom?? Are ya’ll sure? Because she wrote this like she’s been doing it for years 😭
Tropes: One bed, Enemies to Lovers, Workplace romance, Forbidden Romance, Boss’ son
Blurb: Much to her surprise, Trishara Malik is chosen to go to Hawaii for her engineering company’s retreat for a dream getaway, only to turn into a nightmare realizing she’s going with her workplace rival, Rafe Gallagher.
I could not stop reading this book, it was obsessive! I love characters in STEM and Tris’ discouragement in her company constantly overlooking her for promotions due to her being a BIPOC woman is something many of us can relate to. She held to her convictions bravely and did not let her beliefs waver, despite having her dreams dangled in front of her 😢
Something I really enjoyed too was that Rafe and Tris TRULY despised each other, unlike a lot some “enemies to lovers” books nowadays. Their competitions were entertaining and it added more to their natural chemistry 😂♥️
Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Review on bookstagram to come 🤩

I was invited to ARC read Not Safe for Work as I have ARC read for this author in the past. I love this author and her fantasy books so I thought I would give this one a try too. I do enjoy contemporary romance books; however, this one was not for me. BUT...I know many who would LOVE this book.
This book is a workplace romance between Tris and her workplace rival Rafe. Tris has worked hard to get to where she is but keeps getting passed over for promotions and raises to her rival, who happens to be one of the Big Wigs sons. They soon find themselves on a work trip to Hawaii and are forced to be near each other for this trip. This is as far as I got with this story.
For me this is where I ended. Right around 25%. In no way am I bashing this book. I love this author, and I know contemporary romance girlies would love this book as far as I read. For me, I stopped reading here because I was not invested in the characters. I need a little more background between characters for the romance or insta-lust to payoff. I think if this book was written in a dual POV I would have enjoyed it more.
This is a slow burn romance; however, it did also feel like insta-lust to me. Even though Tris despises her work rival she does mention how attractive he is often. For me that didn't tug on my heart strings to want to see what happened next.
The premise of the story is promising. And while reading I could definitely envision the scene the author was setting. I hope to read more from this author in the future. Even though this book isn't for me, I know some of my romance book besties would love this. So, I will still recommend to them. I am just very particular in my contemporary romance reads.
My opinions are my own honest review. And if enemies to lovers, slow burn romance and forced proximity are your tropes then I would definitely recommend giving this a shot.
Thank you NetGalley for the early copy of this book.

I'm starting to think everythig Nisha Tuli writes is 👌🏼✨ gold. I adore her romantasy and was super excited for the opportunity for "NSFW."
This is a workplace romance between Rafe and Trishana (Tris), who are selected for a retreat in Hawaii. Tris, frustrated after years of being passed up for promotions in a male-dominated industry, hopes the retreat will help her break free from her stagnant career.
✨RomCom
✨Rivals to Lovers
✨Banter👌🏼
✨One Bed/One Room
✨Workplace Romance
✨He falls first ❤️

First of all the cover is INCREDIBLE. Just perfection.
I truly loved the banter between Rafe and Tris. Tris is a strong female and I love seeing that represented in books!

There was a time when the idea of smashing through glass in a male-dominated field was thrilling. But over the years, it's just left me as wrung out as a threadbare dishcloth.
Thank you NetGalley and Forever for making this available for Read Now!! I jumped on it immediately and devoured it in less than a day!
As the name would suggest, Trishara and Rafe are both selected to attend a leadership retreat - and through some mix-up - end up being booked into the same suite with only one bed, which inevitably results in some juicy tension and some very NSFW activities.
This book came very close to perfection for me. I loved the BIPOC women in STEM representation. There are many quotes in the book hit a little too close to home. Despite that, the rivalry and banter between Tris & Rafe still made me laugh out loud multiple times. The ending & epilogue felt a little rushed and *pretty pretty sunshine*. I recognize that this is a romance novel and a HEA is a given, but the justice boner ending in the back of this book truly felt like something that only happens in an alternate reality.
Even so, this was hilarious and I would whole heartedly recommend this to someone looking for a spicy beach read.

Tris and Rafe have been engineering rivals for years and then are sent on a retreat for the company they work for, lumped together on the flight there, and stuck with sharing the resort’s honeymoon suite 🤭.
The setting and concept really make for the perfect summer book to pick up. Unfortunately, though, I did notice a few repetitive parts used over and over, almost in a cycle. 1. Rafe and his smiling. 2. Tris and denying her feelings. 3. Their inconsequential arguments, into a quick apology, into breaking the peace ..once again (usually with a small undermining comment). But that's just me being nit-picky. I still had fun and would recommend this for a day trip to the beach. Have you seen that cover too??
Thank you to NetGalley, Forever, and Nisha J. Tuli for providing this eARC (on Valentine’s day, no less)!

So so SO honored to have had the opportunity to read this arc! Nisha J Tuli NEVER misses and this book was as lighthearted and fun as it was reflective and informative. As a woman in STEM, the challenges are never ending and it’s so easy to just get stuck in the routine. This book is a reminder that you are so much more valuable and to never lose sight of your goals or compromise for people who don’t respect you! Thank you for this amazing book, I can’t wait to share it after it’s released!!!😍

3.5 stars // I had a lot of fun with NJT’s first foray into contemporary romance. I’ve read her fantasy stuff but I thought she nailed this workplace enemies to lovers rom com. The dialogue was great, there was chemistry and tension galore, and it genuinely had me smiling and laughing in multiple parts. I hope she does more in this space bc it was such an easy and fun read.
