This was a fun read! It definitely shows some of the politics and challenges women face in STEM but gives some fun spice too. Rafe and Triss are sent to a work conference and end up sharing a room with only one bed. This leads to longing and tension between the two that’s so good! It was nice to see Rafe truly recognizing how worthy Triss is at a higher position.
What to expect:
- workplace romance
• only one bed
- enemies to lovers
• FMC in STEM
- slow burn

Unfortunately, I was not a fan of this one.
The enemies-to-lovers trope felt forced, and the two full-grown adult main characters kept acting like horny, impulsive teenagers.
Nothing concrete pitted them against each other except a bad first encounter and Rafe’s nepotism in their workplace, so the majority of their interactions consisted of an annoying mix of childish bickering and sexual tension. While it was obvious that they wanted to bone each other from the start, we never got to see a true emotional connection form between them. What do they have in common? Why would they work together long-term? I’m sorry, but a couple sexy smirks, nice forearms, and a compliment on Tris’s ass is not enough to convince me that she would fall in love with Rafe in such a short amount of time.
While I am far from against smut in romance books, there needs to be an emotional connection as well for me to root for the main couple, and sadly, I did not feel any here.

Not Safe for Work is a really solid addition to STEM romances. Trishara (Tris), an engineer constantly passed up for promotion, is one of two employees selected to represent their location at a corporate leadership retreat. The other? Her workplace nemesis, Rafe. But maybe he's not her nemesis after all? It's a fun set up.
Tris is a strong main character. Any scene in which she speaks out against sexism is a highlight. Rafe was perfectly fine but didn't stand out as much.
The audio narration and production were well done. The cover art is beautiful.

This is genuinely the perfect book to read as summer approaches. The whole time I was able to picture the setting, and imagined what it would be like to read this on the beach. The way that Nisha was able to weave a love story, with with difficulties women and people of color face in their jobs was magic. I laughed, I cried, I kicked my feet, and I giggled. I really loved this book, and I see myself rereading it once summer is here and I'm on a beach of my own!

workplace rivals to lovers??? sign me up. rafe and trishara have to share one room in hawaii on their work trip??? sign me up.
trishara is the badass fmc in stem who gets picked to attend a work retreat with her coworker and rival rafe who has more to him than trishara sees. this was the perfect rom-com with banter between the two, one bedroom, and a fun summer setting. this was such a great debut contemporary romance! it also has some spice!!!! i do however, wish it was dual pov to get more on rafe’s internal feelings!
this touches on topics of racism and workplace struggles for women in stem careers which is so important as it’s extremely relevant to today!!!!

Thank you to Forever for the advanced E-ARC of this title.
This book is smart, sweet, and sexy all rolled into one. It is the best kind of RomCom.
Trishara is smart, and sassy, yet humble and self-deprecating. Shes been the poster child for workplace discrimination and retaliation. The author gives her an epic monologue at the end where she finds her voice and regains her power. I might just print that page and hang it in my office, because it's that good.
Set in the backdrop of Hawaii at a two-week work retreat where everyone is vying for a promotion. Enter in nepo baby, Rafe, who is much more than meets the eye. He becomes the most epic book boyfriend with a dirty mouth and sex appeal for days. Add in a grand gesture, and you will be swooning.
Read if you like
-enemies to lovers
-Workplace romance/rivals
-Slow burn (worth the wait in deliciousness)

This was my first time reading Nisha Tuli and I really enjoyed this book! I loved the tropical setting, and the romance between Trishara and Rafe. I also loved the workplace enemies-to-lovers trope, and I appreciated that there were minimal conflicts once the characters got together. I really liked Trishara and loved how she stood up for herself and found her worth at the end of the story. This was an easy and enjoyable read, and I would definitely read more from the author in the future.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Once again, Nisha Tuli does not disappoint. This book was such a good slow-burn, enemies to lovers contemporary romance. Nisha did not pull any punches with this one. She highlights so many of the struggles women, and especially women of color, often face in their careers. Trishana's struggles with microaggressions, sexism, and racism will hit home for too many of us. This book both devastated me and was a balm to my heart in the fight for diversity and equity in our broken world.
That being said, despite the sometimes heavy themes, this book made me laugh out loud. I loved the friendship between Tris and Molly. Rafe was the swooniest best hidden cinnamon roll/caveman MMC.
I highly recommend this one for fans of contemporary romance.

Obsessed!!!! This book is everything you are looking for in a rom com book!!! And it has so many of the best tropes including forced proximity, one bed, work rivals and wedding crashing (didn’t know how much I loved this!).
Trishara wins a 3 week all paid expense work trip to Hawaii but the catch is she has to go with her work rival!!! And when she gets there is ends up her suite is really their suite and there is only one bed!!!! Ahhh the setting is perfect, the banter is top tier, and I just absolutely loved these characters!! I need more!!!
Also the audiobook is amazing!!!

Not Safe for Work
Author: Nisha J. Tuli
Ugh one of my all time favorite fantasy authors decided to write a romcom and it was amazing. 🥲. I loved this book SO MUCH. Also I am from Hawaii and this book took place in Maui and it made my soul happy. I friggin love destination / vacation books. Even though this was a “work” trip it still had a bunch of fun stuff thrown in. A co workers / enemies to lovers. Trisha has been in love with Rafe since she first had eyes on him but she also despises him with a passion unlike any other! He is the bosses son, and to her dismay they are both chosen to attend a work trip together in Hawaii. Then it gets even better when they are mistakenly put together in the same room at the hotel. This book had my heart in pieces! I loved Rafe so much. Trisha was such a strong FMC and though the discrimination stuff was rough it was realistic and I felt her power and Nishas in her writing. I loved Rafes bakery side gig. I was equal parts laughing my ass off and feeling all the things. 10/5 stars. All the stars. Nisha is one of my favorite romantasy authors and if she keeps writing romcoms I guess she will be taking over that genre too. Thank you so much for this ARC!

What a fun read! This will be a perfect summer release. A workplace romance but make it Hawaiian retreat. With forced proximity, workplace rivals with a delicious slow burn. And once it burns it BURNS. I really enjoyed the female empowerment and STEAM representation here as well.
Our FMC is driven, to the point, sassy and stands up for herself. She’s trying to make her way after some scandal at a previous job but you’ve got her workplace rival, the bosses son, Rafe. He’s mysterious and aloof for a while there but getting to know him, I adored him.
I really loved how Nisha kept this in a single POV. I know that’s not the norm right now but I really enjoyed it. It keeps that mystery alive. We learn things as the FMC learns them. This was my first book by this author and won’t be my last. Her writing style added a quirky touch that I really loved. I giggled out loud so many times.
Thank you to the publisher and author for the early copy.

This story was amazing. The hook was right there from the beginning and I was heavily invested in seeing how this unfolded. I enjoyed that the characters were complex and the author didn’t have to rely on tropes alone to propel this story forward. I would highly recommend this book to any romance reader.
Topics enjoyed: women-in-STEM, women-in-corporate, BIPOC representation, slow-burn, chronic-pain-rep, rivals-to-lovers.

Thank you to Read Forever Publishing & NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book! 🌴
4.5 stars!
There’s something about a fantasy author writing a contemporary rom-com. They always hit.
This one was so fun and might have single-handedly pulled me out of my reading slump? This was very much giving Ali Hazelwood meets The Paradise Problem which is RIGHT up my alley 😍
So much to love about this book. The feminist undertones, the pining, the dream tropical destination, the forced proximity. I was giggling kicking my feet for most of this book honestly. I thought both Tris and Rafe were well-rounded characters and the plot was solid.
I took off half a star because I found that there were a lot of repetitive scenes/thoughts from Tris but other than that, this book is the perfect summer read!

Sometimes you just need a quick and angsty romance that's just a good time even if the plot is a little implausible. And NSFW definitely delivered. This was fun and an easy read perfect to bring to the beach or pool side.
In NSFW we meet engineer Trishara Malik. She once dreamed of being the first woman of color to smash the glass ceiling at WMC Purcell, but after years of dealing with white male privilege and blatant nepotism, she watches her hard-earned promotion go to her nemesis, Rafe Gallagher - the boss's son. Tris is stunned when she's picked to attend WMC's corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii. The only downside? Rafe is her co-attendee. Tris plans to avoid Rafe entirely, but when she arrives in Maui, a booking error has them stuck sharing the honeymoon suite. As they vie against each other during aptitude tests and team-building exercises, Tris begins to realize Rafe might not be the villain after all.
The work rivals to lovers was SO GOOD! I loved their quippy little fights that built up until all their feelings boiled over. The slow burn was HOT. Their sexual tension was off the charts!!! Nisha knows how to write PASSION.
I really liked Tris she was snarky and funny but we didn't get much more than that. I wanted more depth. There were many moments where Tris who is insanely intelligent made me roll my eyes with how naive she was to Rafe's interest in her. I really liked how Tris handled the sexism and racism at her work place and how that was handled in the book.
Overall this was a fun read and I can't wait to read what Nisha writes next!

4.5 stars!! This was so good!!! From the first chapter I was hooked and flew through this read. I looove rivals to lovers and this was perfect!!! Workplace rivals that can’t stand each other have to spend 3 weeks in Hawaii together? Forced proximity? He is disgustingly down bad??? (Complimentary) I ate it up!! I loved the fmc Tris and how confident and badass she was but also felt like she was really relatable in the way that she second guessed her worth and felt like she tried too hard. And Rafe!!! The sweetest mmc who just wanted to see Tris appreciated the way she deserved. Ugh what a man!! The Hawaii setting was obviously so fun, the tension, banter, and angst were off the charts!!! They literally had me giggling to myself. I loved the representation and the diversity within the workplace discussion. I thought nisha did a great job with that and loved her being blunt, calling it like it is. And as a headache/migraine girlie, it meant a lot to see that represented in our fmc!! This was such a perfect summer read with the perfect amount of depth and humor. Highly recommend picking it up on release day, may 20 🫶🏼

Thank you to Forever & Hachette Audio for the ARC/ALC!
Nisha J Tuli really put the BURN in slow burn in this enemies to lovers, workplace, vacation romance. Trishara’s inner monologue reminded me a lot of Lor from Trial of the Sun Queen - quippy and spicy - and I had such a good time reading Not Safe for Work.
Aside from the romance, Trishara is dealing with the challenges of working in a white male dominated field, and Tuli doesn’t shy away from all of the ways men (and other women!) can make being a BIPOC woman in a STEM field difficult.

HELLO i loved this book so much. hate to love, workplace romance, forced proximity like yessss.
I love the one bed trope so much I was eating up the tension between Trish and rafe. I really loved how Trish did not like him at all and thought he was this horrible person but really he was SUCH good person and always looking out for her and being protective.
The representation of women working in a male dominated field, especially being a WOC was so spot on, Nisha did such a good job of showing us what it's really like.

This was a really enjoyable read and it was the perfect way to start off summer.
I love Tris so much. I hold deep admiration for her and her complexity. As a woman who has encountered challenges in the workplace due to my gender, I genuinely appreciate her dedication to not only excel but also to highlight the issues we face. I commend the author for highlighting important issues while ensuring the narrative goes beyond just smut and romance.
I rated this 4 out of 5 because I found it entertaining, although there were moments that felt like they could have used a stronger climax. All in all wonderful read and I love Rafe so much.
Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for the Earc in exchange for an honest review!

Not Safe For Work is Nisha J Tuli newest romance story. This fantasy author can write workplace romance anytime she wants! Not Safe For Work had me laughing, crying, and on the edge of my seat the whole time. It’s so good! The chemistry between Trish & Rafe are NEXT LEVEL. The slow burn was burning and the spice was spectacular. Another amazing book by Nisha J. Tuli! Cannot wait to read more from her. Thank you NetGalley

This went just okay for me. The cover is everything but I kept losing interest. The activities of the conference just felt like filler. I found the MMC intriguing and could see through some of his defenses so I really appreciate that even though this is dislike to lovers neither of them crossed any lines. The MMC is a nepo baby and his dad is awful though but I could sense from the start the MMC was NOT like his dad and didn't want to be. There are such fun tropes in this but they just didn't exactly hit for me, it was too little too late when it came to the romance.
The narrators did an amazing job with the audiobook though! Thank you to Forever for the eARC and Hachette audio for the ALC.
