Murder At The High School Reunion by Lee Hollis this is the newest book in the Sandra and Maya mysteries in this time they’re heading to the their 25th high school reunion. when the story begins Maya and Sandra are discussing their 25th high school reunion and if you’re a fan of the series you already know Maya doesn’t want to attend but Max insists they go because Allison Turner is coming, bear fellow graduate who became a Hollywood movie star. right before the graduation the two PI’s get drugged into a nasty divorce case and little do they know they’re involvement will also help the movie star defend herself from a murder charge. I really enjoy cozy mysteries and I love the ones written by Lee Hollis as this is not her only series. I find the characters Sandra and Maya likable and so worth rooting for this one I thought was better than the last one I read but then again I always think that when just finishing a book lol! I absolutely recommend this book it is entertaining funny and The mystery is well put together. I do find some of the author‘s writing seems clunky in the plot seems put together almost like a jigsaw puzzle but if she could just tighten those parts of the book up it would definitely be a five star read. Still very much enjoyed it though. #NetGalley, #KensingtonBooks, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #LeeHollis, #MurderAtThe HighSchoolReunion,

This is the fifth book in the series. I haven't read any of the books in the series, as these can be read as stand alones. A great cosy mystery book with the duo Maya and Sandra investigating a murder at their high school reuninon. Thouroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to continue the series. Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for ARC.

If you've ever attended a high school reunion gathering you'll be able to relate to the reluctance with which Maya and Sandra go to their 25th reunion. But, hey, it involves a paid case and, well, Maya always needs money. As they feared, a once and seemingly always mean girl and her cronies don't seem to have changed. In fact, one has a nasty surprise planned for her cheating husband that will rely on evidence she's hired them to find. On the plus side, former wallflower, shy girl Alyssa Turner will be there, too, and has contacted them. Alyssa is now an Oscar nominated actress. Unfortunately, murder steals the spotlight.
While I won't detail the plot, let's just say you're likely not to have much more sympathy for the victim than I did. Still, no one deserves to die. At their high school reunion, no less. Maya and Sandra are drawn into the investigation when it turns out Alyssa was heard having a confrontation with the victim not long before their death. Alyssa, far from being a snooty movie star turned out to be quite likeable and even helped them out with their case via her acting skills. Good preparation for her upcoming role as a private eye, I'd say.
Despite the crowd at the reunion, the focus characters in this book besides those mentioned, are Max and Lucas. Turns out Maya still loves her recently released from prison husband Max, an ex-cop, no less. Let's just say he has a mandatory meeting with his probation officer at the end. As for Lucas, well, he's madly in love with Sandra but she thinks he's too young for her. I think I missed the last book because I didn't realize how far this had progressed, so catching up on Sandra, formerly married to a prominent senator, was fun. As always, she's puts her life on the line for a case, so Lucas may have gray hair soon, however. Bottom line, a fun mystery with memorable characters good and bad, and interesting backstories to keep us intrigued. Thanks #KensingtonPublishing - #KensingtonCozies for this early peek at what is going on in Maya and Sandra's busy world. I'm looking forward to seeing how Max will fit into the equation as they seem to be firmly on the reunification trail. Let's hope he avoids any more unplanned probation conferences.

"Murder at the High School Reunion (Maya and Sandra Mystery #5)" by Lee Hollis has Maya and Sandra reuniting with some high school classmates. One has hired them to get her evidence of her husband's affair. That of course blows up and at their high school reunion. Then, another classmate gets singled put as a suspect. Being a now Hollywood A-lister means she needs to be taken out of the murder spotlight and quick before it ruins her film spotlight. The A-lister pulls Maya and Sandra in to investigate, and really they shouldn't be giving freebie investigations to people who can afford it.

Witty, Suspenseful, and Deliciously Nostalgic. A Reunion You Won’t Forget!
Murder at the High School Reunion is an irresistible mix of old grudges, buried secrets, and fresh murder served with a sharp sense of humor and a cast of unforgettable women. This cozy mystery delivers everything fans of the genre crave: a compelling whodunit, smart sleuths, and just the right amount of high school drama resurfacing with a deadly twist.
The pacing is fast, the red herrings are satisfying, and the suspects are fabulously shady. There’s something deliciously ironic about a reunion turning into a murder scene, and the book leans into that irony with just enough snark to make you laugh even as you’re piecing together clues.
This is more than just a murder mystery, it’s about redemption, regret, and the people we pretend to be when we’re young. The setting feels authentic, the dialogue sparkles, and the twist at the end? Totally worth staying up late to finish.
Murder at the High School Reunion is cozy crime at its finest: clever, nostalgic, and brimming with secrets. Highly recommended for fans of female-led sleuthing teams, second-chance friendships, and stories that blend glamor, grit, and a good old-fashioned body behind the bleachers.

An engaging mystery that was a very good read. The author crafted the storyline very well. Believable characters with a plot that was intriguing. I stayed fully engaged throughout the entire book. I would recommend this author and book.

My favorite pair of gal pals is back in an all-new mystery! Maya and Sandra, private investigators, besties, and moms, are set to attend their high school reunion. Unfortunately, one of their former classmates, a now-A-list celebrity, is found dead behind the bleachers. It's up to Maya and Sandra to crack the case before they get schooled in the art of murder. This book was everything a cozy should be: quick, fun, and captivating. I've so enjoyed watching Maya and Sandra's stories evolve throughout the series and can't wait to see what's next for them!

It's twenty-five years since private investigators Maya Kendrick and Sandra Wallage were high school students, and with differing amounts of enthusiasm, they are about to attend their school reunion. Meanwhile the class mean girl, Tawny Bryce, has hired them to confirm that her husband is having affair and one of the quietest girls in their year wants to pick their brains about what it's like to be P.I.s! The fact that she's now a Hollywood A lister is bound to be good for business, right? It's going to be an interesting weekend, that's for sure!
Unfortunately, when a body is discovered behind the bleachers, Maya and Sandra find themselves in the middle of another investigation with the possibility that one of their peers is a potential killer. After they make a vital discovery, the danger moves ever closer, and it looks as if the killer has one of them in their sights.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Kensington Publishing, Kensington Cosies, but the opinions expressed are my own. This is novel number five in Lee Hollis's series and can be read as a standalone as there is plenty of background information. The storyline was entertaining throughout, jand I enjoyed it enormously.

I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this book. Sandra and Maya take on a case to get information on an affair which turns into a murder mystery. They need to find out who did it to stop an innocent friend from being arrested.

Sandra and Maya have a new case, more intense and demanding than any before. When a former classmate, who also happens to be famous, becomes a suspect in the murder of the former high school bully, Sandra and Maya are hired to clear her name. But this case is a little more complicated than it first seemed.
Love the characters and all the different emotions and interactions. The plot was captivating, and had some nice twists to it that made it all the more enjoyable. I love this series, and am already looking forward to what the two friends get up to next.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I hadn't read any of this series and now I can't wait to catch up! Maya and Sandra are 40-something private investigators who are as different, personality-wise, as can be. However, they blend together when solving mysteries.
When they attend their 25th high school reunion, they find some people have changed while others remained the same. Alyssa Turner, a quiet and shy student is now a famous actress. She is hoping Maya and Sandra can give her tips on being P.I.'s for her upcoming film. Unfortunately, the "mean girl" (Tawny Bryce) of the class still dislikes Alyssa and is not afraid to hurt other's feelings as well. A confrontation occurs and Tawny is found murdered behind the bleachers. Alyssa becomes a suspect and the ladies have limited time to prove Alyssa's innocence or guilt.
There's so much going on and if you've ever gone to a high school reunion, you can relate. It wasn't difficult to get up to speed with the characters. A mystery with twists and turns I loved!
The opinions expressed are my own and I received an ARC from Net Galley and Kensington.

The ugly ducklings return! Who are the two hottest people at Maya and Sandra's 25th class reunion? Hint: they met in Chess Club. Yes, Alyssa and Noah, the nerdy girl and the boy with an acne problem have had two of the best glow-ups you'll ever see and people can't stop staring. Which is probably why someone was able to strangle the class queen bee right under everyone's noses without being seen....
Who killed Tawny Bryce? You can't narrow down the suspects with motive because, let's face it, the "popular" chicks are never the most well-liked. There is so much going on here, there's the creepy kid who didn't know how to act around his crushes, the mean girls who haven't changed, and of course the jock who always got whatever he wanted is still having his cake and eating it too. But Maya and Sandra are on the case and you know they never quit, no matter how far they have to go to get their perp.
In the background we have Sandra's young hunk, Lucas, Max still letting his temper get him into trouble, and Maya being everyone's voice of reason. And don't forget the lobster rolls... or should I say lob-STAH? My stomach is growling just thinking about it! While this is perhaps my least favorite of Lee Hollis's series, I still love it. Anyone who enjoys a sweet cozy mystery should definitely check out this author!
Thank you to Lee Hollis, Kensington, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

Maya and Sandra help find the murderer of their fellow classmate when she is killed at their class reunion. Tawny Brice discovers her husband has been cheating…and decides the class reunion is the perfect place to reveal the video and serve him with divorce papers. A few minutes later, Tawny is found strangled to death. There is no shortage of suspects as Sandra and Maya investigate. An enjoyable book in this series!

Murder at the High School Reunion is the fifth installment in the Maya and Sandra Mystery series featuring private detectives Maya Kendrick and Sandra Wallage and set in Portland, Maine. The ladies and their dates are planning on attending their 25th class reunion at South Portland High School. Mostly, they are looking forward to seeing fellow classmate Alyssa Turner who went from being the awkward, shy wallflower to a mega Hollywood star.
Just prior to the reunion, the duo is approached by another fellow classmate, Tawny Bryce who wants to hire them to prove her husband is cheating on her. Tawny was one of the mean girls, who got a kick out of bullying people, including Sandra. She faked a pregnancy to snag the handsome football star Chad Bryce at graduation and unbelievably they had stayed together for 25 years. However, now the kids are off at college and the marriage seems to have run its course. The ladies decide to take the case mostly because Maya needs the money.
There is an awkward exchange between Tawny and her clique of mean girls and Alyssa at the reunion and words are exchanged. When Tawny ends up dead behind the bleachers nobody is surprised, but who had the guts to kill the woman? Was it Alyssa who was seeking revenge for the way Tawny treated her in high school, was it Chad who had been publicly exposed for cheating or one of their other classmates who still harbored a grudge.
A quick and easy afternoon read with a returning cast of characters. Sandra is still struggling with her relationship with Lucas, 14 years her junior and unfortunately seems to be embarrassed by their age difference. The mystery exposes the hidden dangers of online dating.
I received an advanced copy of Murder at the High School Reunion from Kensington Books via NetGalley. While not required to write a review I am happy to offer my honest opinion.

This was a fast paced well written cozy with likeable main characters, intrigue, suspense, and a (very) twisty plot that kept me glued to my kindle until the murderer was revealed. I was very surprised at who the murderer turned out to be. This book was a page turner for sure! I can't wait to read the next book in this delightful series.

Loved reading this book and series. Hopefully you enjoyed it as much as I did. Looking forward to more books in this series to read

#MurderattheHighSchoolReunion #NetGalley is my favorite book in the series so far.
Maya and Sandra find themselves involved in an investigation that seems cut and dry, but something nags at Sandra, and she can't let it rest.
Soon they discover a plot so devious that the FBI are involved, and Sandra puts her safety on the line, determined to catch the culprit.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
