I loved that the book was written in the MMC POV. Getting his thoughts and feelings throughout the interactions with the FMC and her friends, learning his life story as the book went on, and understanding his struggles through his eyes rather than being told about it through dialogue. I love when the MMC falls first and the slow burn friends to lovers within an academic setting. There wasn’t high pressure on the academics where the athlete NEEDS a tutor but he asks for the FMC’s help as a way to spend time with her.

You reach a part of the book where everything falls into place and wonder how you still have so much left to read, everything feels pretty much resolved. Those last handful of chapters beautifully tie the two love interests together in a way I wasn’t expecting and left me in tears, the good kind.

I’ve already recommended this to my friends. Best romance I’ve read in months.

Scars of Anatomy is a quick, sweet and spicy read. Bronx and Olivia are the quinticential opposites attract couple representing a brainiac pre med student and a loose college football star. This book was an interesting change from other romances I’ve read as it’s from the MMCs perspective. We see Bronx battling between being a player (on and off the field) and his newfound friendship and interest in Olivia. Olivia is quiet, smart, and loyal to her family and friends (to her own detriment as we see with Quinton). They battle various barriers to their blooming romance and learn to let down their walls. The tension around the side characters trying to break them apart was great to keep you hooked on the story and root for Bronx and Olivia to work out. I had a hard time liking Bronx in the beginning of the book when he was making certain choices with other women but it was nice to see his character arc and how he opened up.

Though this book explores some heavy topics like child abuse, it was an easy read for when you need a break from life. If you like slow burn sickly sweet romance with some outside drama this is a good read for you.

In terms of what I didn’t love:
Sometimes Bronx and Olivia’s interactions were too sweet for me and because of that a little flat. There were moments of great chemistry but it felt a little too slow to build for me. The ending was a little rushed for me but it was a nice wrap up to a cute college romance with some deeper topics explored.
