Thank you New Harbinger Publications and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I had read the first edition of this book many years ago and have read and listened to many of the works by these fabulous authors who are highly esteemed in the Buddhism / mindfulness field so I was incredibly happy to have the opportunity to read this 15 year anniversary edition.
Broken down into four parts this book is presented as an invitation to focus your mind and become aware of this life through greater attention. It encapsulates both ancient Buddhist traditions and modern neuroscience to help the reader live in a more interconnected world.
This book is much needed today, a book to guide people towards compassion, interconnectedness and love, through a practice achievable for all. Imagine how wonderful the world could be if everyone guided their brains , synapse by synapse change to live from a place of peace, curiosity and wisdom.
Blending three of my all time favourite subjects, this wonderful book is highly recommended. It is easy to read, provides examples and exercises and is written in a way that holds great value but is accessible to all.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this new edition of a fabulous book.

I mean the author's alone are reason to pick up this book. These are the titans in blending Buddhist psychology and secular mental health. I LOVED this book. It was incredibly informative, calming and gave actionable tools. I work in mental health and will definitely be purchasing a copy to use with the people I support.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced reader copy. My opinion is 100% my own.

Buddha's Brain dives into how your thoughts can literally rewire your brain for more happiness, love, and calm. Written by brain experts, it breaks down complex stuff like neuroplasticity into bite-sized, practical tips, like meditating to boost joy or “taking in the good” to counter your brain’s negativity bias. Sometimes, the Buddhist lens feels a bit heavy if you’re not into it, and the science can get dense, but the “Key Points” at the end of each chapter keep it digestible. If you’re curious about hacking your brain for a better life, this book’s a game-changer.

I loved the first edition of BUDDHA'S BRAIN by Siegel, Kornfield, Mendius, and Hanson -- and this updated version is the ultimate joy of rediscovering a treasured old friend and learning something new. Wise, clear,. and well-organized, this book offered insight into an authentic and enjoyable way of life rather than being shoved around by our current world and its never-ending problems. I am the wiser and more peaceful for having reread the book and am thrilled to have the opportunity to read this anniversary edition. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased opinions.

I have long been interested in Buddhism, and quickly requested this book when it became available on Netgalley. Buddha's Brain by Rick Hanson with Richard Mendius is a guide that leads readers through meditations and mindfulness to make everyday life so much more fulfilling. I love how the authors went deeply into Buddha's teachings and added modern science to show people how these tools effect the human brain.
This book has been on the market for years, and is a bestseller. It is definitely a five star book.
