I have read other books by the author and enjoyed them. This was not one of them. I am sad to say it is one of the few books I did not finish. The derogatory language was just too much to get past. I tried reading this book three times but found the language to be disparaging. I am not posting this review on my blog or social media.

Get ready for a rollicking good time with this quirky cast of characters and their adventures. Kakonis is a great storyteller.

A very unusual read. Don't let the very colloquial dialogue fool you: this is a much darker story than you think! On the whole I enjoyed the book despite regretting the passing of characters I was identifying with! One I started reading I found it hard to put down.

I have problems reading books with a lot of bad language. I have never found a need for it and it distracts from the storyline. Hence I didn't enjoy what could have been a great story.

The book is set on the "treasure coast" but the true treasure is the cast of characters. From Uncle Jim to the thugs who come hunting the strong character descriptions make the book move along. There is violence and there is some language; guess what it happens. This book was a pleasant surprise and worth the read. Enjoy
