I felt like there were too many unnecessary details, overly detailing things that were not important to the story. Some were important, however, most seemed so far fetched.

I don’t know how a police officer and a cosmetics business could afford a luxury period townhouse. It is explained later on, however.

But who stays in the same place after witnessing a crime?! I would have been out of there in a flash for fear of needing to look over my back all of the time, wondering when and if they will come for me.

It was also too hard to get my mind around how Alexandra was the ONLY girl at Matthew’s special parties, that was not an escort.

There were only three twists I did not see coming whatsoever, so that was well worth sticking through to the end of the book. Even though I feel like so much was packed into the ending instead of spreading little hints here and there throughout and also character descriptions for the ones listed at the end were not as elaborate as the characters in the beginning. Continuity is important.

This is a great thriller crime-mystery, with lots of twists and turns and shocking revelations. It is very well written, and nails the creepy, tense atmosphere when needed. I was convinced the story was heading in one direction, and although I was shocked that it didn't, I did find the ending a little bit disappointing and not quite as jaw dropping as I thought it would be. It's also not quite as fast paced as I prefer (I almost want a book to give me whiplash!). This was still a gripping book, a proper page turner with a great plot. If you're a psychological thriller fan, this is definitely one for you.

Alexandra's quiet and well-established life is about to fall apart when secrets from the past come through her door. She has worked hard to forget her days as a wild party hostess and the things she had witnessed, however, those secrets are staring at her again and her life, her business and her family are in danger. Little did she know that everyone around her also had secrets and they were going to be as damaging as hers were. Everyone is Lying is entertaining and it has a lot of twists and turns that will make you guess till the end.

This was a great story. It kept me engaged and turning pages from the first page. Part of me wonders why I keep reading this genre, because they're all pretty predictable after you've read a hundred of them - but even when it's predictable, it still makes for an entertaining afternoon of reading! 4⭐

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I must admit that I really enjoyed it. D.E.White has managed to build the tension throughout, making it difficult to put down. The story is written over two timelines but it flows well.
Alexandra and Harlan had a perfect life, they had a nice house in Brighton, two beautiful children that they adored, Alexandra had built up a successful aesthetics business and Harlan was a police officer.
Things hadn't always been so easy, twenty years ago, Alexandra, then know as Lexy and a few friends, known as The Candy Girls, worked at an exclusive club as party girls, looking beautiful, serving drinks and escorting. Lexy worked hard and saved hard to pay for her nursing degree and her mother's care. Everything was well............until it wasn't, it changed on one horrific night, a night that would haunt Alexandra, a night that must stay in the past, a night that she would never speak about, Lexy had learned to live with the secret, a secret that her policeman husband must never discover.
When a traumatised Alexander found an origami bird in her house she knew that her past had caught up with her, her life was in danger, Alexandra must protect her family but how? who could she turn to ? she was up against powerful people, people who would stop at nothing to achieve their goal.
This is a well written book although the end felt a bit rushed and I can't say that I really connected with any of the characters but overall a really enjoyable story with a great build up of suspense and a good ending.

alexander has a life she worked hard for. harder than most considering what she was trying to move on from...escape from. because many years ago Alexander was witness to something terrible. and has kept her secrets close ever since. and finally with her husband and 2 children she feels settled. then a call to jury service, a face from the past and then someone leaving an origami bird on her doorstep means all that fear is back again. because someone knows. someone is watching and wanting to remind her of just who she was back then. are they making sure she keeps quiet. or have they another reason for wanting to dredge up the past. does she dare relive it all again? and what IS the right thing to do here?
i felt the tension building and building throughout. and that way a great thriller has you needing to know what was going to happen but almost worried for the character when you do.
it also had me second guessing so many things and people. not least people who weren't meant to be closest Alexander. and the added dread was also from the very real life feeling and fear of those in such high positions in life that they can do anything and get way with such horrible harm to almost anyone and get away with it. that can leave a such a sense of powerlessness.
this was a brilliant book and i enjoyed it immensely. at one point i was reading it in dark and had to keep reading and reading my own angst getting higher and higher my dark room only adding to the psychological enjoyment of it all.
and even then right at the end it still had some surprises for me.

I thought this was a really good read. It was a clever story full of suspense which kept me on the edge of my seat. Plus I could not stop reading because I just had to know what was going to happen. Recommended.

Twenty years ago Lexy and her friends paid their way through college by being party girls for a group of rich, hedonistic hoorays. That part of her life came to an end one night when two girls died. Now Alex has her own business, is married with two kids and life couldn't be better - until one day a coded message tells her that the past is going to catch up. Its a rattling good tale of how two women team up to take on the rich and powerful. Good, twisty plot, if not entirely credible its a good read.

Hang on to your seats this book is a wonderful ride. It kept me wanting to hurry back to it every chance I had. I will highly recommend it to all of my fellow readers. I loved it!

Alexandra is a successful business woman, married with two children and has been holding on to a secret that is coming back to haunt her.
Twenty years ago, Alexandra saw something she shouldn’t have and now she is receiving cryptic messages that may put her life and her family in danger. Can she trust her husband to support her after she reveals her past to him after all these years, or will he leave her to deal with this on her own?
This story was slow going till about 70% in, then it becomes very intriguing and I was glad I continued.
Stick with it, you won’t be disappointed!

When you fight with the bull, you get the horns. That last party was a doozie!

Lexy took an extra job as a Candy Girl while a student. While she was more of a party planner than a party girl, her position was lucrative enough to help her finish school and set up a successful business. Her marriage to a successful entreprenuer helped her to finish the transformation to Alexandra.

Now it is 20 plus years later and her past is coming back with a vengeance. Origami birds are being delivered to her and only a handful of people (most of them deceased to her knowledge) knew of her "Birdy" nickname. Not only that, her husband is acting weird -- what is he hiding?

I am only giving this one three stars for these reasons:
🌟Sorry, but Lexy built a life on ill-gotten gains. I am sympathetic to her attempts to keep her kids out of it, but dirty money is sticky.

🌟She is called in for jury duty and immediately placed on a jury trial. I know the UK has different procedures, but the pool seemed awfully small for such an important trial. I have sat in courtrooms for days in the US only to be dismissed from the jury pool for a murder trial.

Great title! A really good story. Little mysteries all through for you to try and figure out. You will wonder who the good guys are. Will be reading more by this author!

I really enjoyed this fast paced psychological thriller. The past should be kept in the past, but it’s rearing its ugly face. This story is full of lies, but who’s telling the truth? Really enjoyed reading about the Candy girls and what they got up to back in their university days. Plus the present and how they got on with life after some shocking things happening. A thrilling 5 star read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

Everyone in Alexandra's life is keeping their own secrets, including her, which has now turned her entire world upside down. While trying to forget a dangerous and crazy youth, people she has worked hard to keep in the past are popping up where they shouldn't be and putting her and her family in danger. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has a love of psychological thrillers that are filled with surprises and twists and turns you won't see coming. The entire book held my attention throughout and I couldn't put it down.

Everyone Is Lying is a good little twisty read. Telling the story of teenage girls who were just trying to earn money to get them through university, when one night changes their lives forever.

20 years later, the past come back to haunt them. Will they survive the aftermath?
