Thank you to RBmedia and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to The Creepy School Bus.
Wow! What a ride this was! The full cast and sound effects really bring you into the story. I felt I was sitting and standing next to these characters as the story unfolded.
Each narrator did a great job with emotions and speaking out the characters thoughts.
The sound effects definitely adding to the experience. Overall I highly recommend checking this book out!

The Creepy School Bus is definitely a creeper of a read. The audiobook is fantastic with an entire cast and crew coupled with impressive sound effects.
This book is written for the teenage group and I think they would totally enjoy the thrill of it and the gory bits near the end.
Chloe is a middle school girl that is held after school by one of the nastiest teachers I have ever encountered. As she is delayed an hour, she misses her bus. But, another bus is quickly available. Chloe gets on the bus and soon realizes that she is not heading towards her house. She finds herself being taken into an underground tunnel without cell service. As the bus parks in the tunnel, she looks around only to see hundreds of busses and one kid in each one and they all appear to be sleeping and look sick.
She realizes that this might be the same way other kids have disappeared in the area and then finds out it’s happening around the country.
This is when the scary part of this journey begins and she realizes she is in jeopardy. She teams up with other classmates that have been taken and an FBI agent posing as a middle school teacher that is an amputee since he was 13. Together, they try and piece together the nefarious scheme of why kids are missing.
Paul Hough has spun a scary and sometimes quirky mystery, or is it horror book? The ending is action packed and the reason they are taking kids is a bit Soylent Green.

This was quite something. I do listen to audiobooks, but rarely. I loved the voice actors. they emoted it very well. I felt the scare, the anger and the feelings. The book is descriptive, without it being too much. This is for teens and Young Adult. It is horror. but it is not gory horror.
At the same time even with finishing the whole book i still am really curious about what was behind the door that made the Special Agent so scared. I guess they can't go too deep into it since the author touched that bit but did not describe it too much. If he did it might not be good for teens or YA.

The Creepy School Bus by Paul Hough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a creepy kids book lol. A story about killer bus drivers? Let me read it! 😅 Okay, but seriously, this is the perfect horror book for middle grade readers. Perfect balance of horror and thriller. The story is about kids who keep going missing after school on what turns out to be a fake school bus. They take the kids to some secret place that no one can get to (with hints towards it being a supernatural place). The kids phones are taken under the assumption that its the “no phones on the bus” rule and then thats when the driver kidnaps them. The teachers are in on it and the kids are being eaten and others are finding teeth of sharks, but maybe its not sharks because theyre weird supernatural beings with vampire teeth 😆 Im laughing as im typing this, but i can imagine a young kid either being freaked out by the cannibalism or falling in love with gory horror 😅 It was also my first time listening to a graphic audiobook so it kinda felt like I was listening to a movie rather than a book, but I really liked it. It was cool listening to a full cast.
Check this book out when it hits shelves February 11, 2025.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with this free advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a good middle school audio book it was cute and I listened this one with my kid. He really like this one and kept us wanting to keep reading. It was a good mystery I didn't know this was a middle school read but I liked it still. I really like the full cast audio book it keep it intresting. This would have been something I liked at that age.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I'm always very happy about an ARC and being able to give it a review! <3
Wow, the audiobook drew me into the story straight away. All the narrators played their roles very good. Except for the voice of Katelynn - the voice was too raspy, whiny and didn't really suit for me personally.
The first 30% were super exciting but then it drifted off too much and was just too over the top for me^^ but I can still imagine listening to the second part. 3,5 Stars

Wow that was absolutely amazing! Such an amazing audio experience, the full cast was so good. I was completely engrossed in the story and it was so creepy and mysterious, I could not get enough. Highly recommend it!

It was a really good audiobook since it had full cast recording and sound effects. I found those to be the strengths of this audiobook because mostly what you will feel is like watching something and visualizing that easily rather than just reading what's happening. Characters were children and I think their characters were portrayed well, each had different personalities. Their language and actions make it obvious of course and will sometimes drive you crazy. When it comes to weaknesses, I would say plot is not rich enough. There is a mystery but even the book itself is not ready to tell you what which might be frustrating for people who look for answers. I guess I wanted more depth but this is a YA novel so if you can look past the lack of depth and join for the ride, you can enjoy it better. Because full cast audiobook was fun to listen. The ending was also very rushed for me. This book could have been longer with a solid introduction, body and a conclusion however it lacked structure. As I was coming to the last 1 hour I was thinking: there is still so much action and I feel like we are in the middle. How can we finish this in one hour? It finished and was exciting but it wasn't fully fledged.
Thank you to Netgalley and RBMedia Recorded Books for giving me the chance to listen to this story.

I listened to the audiobook which had a full cast and sound effects and it was SO GOOD! I, a fully grown adult, was creeped out in parts. It was thrilling, shocking, and intriguing. There is some explicit language, but nothing too bad. Overall, it was a great story!

This audio book was a whole production. Seeing how this is a YA book I can see it captivating the middle schooled aged kids and keep them entertained. Overall the story line was a bit weird and not my cup of tea. It did have me a little captivated to see how it ended but was a lil disappointed.

When I saw that this was a full-cast narration with music and sound effects, I thought of several kids who I knew would love it. However, I wasn't prepared for how much I would enjoy this story and narration. The pacing of the story is good, the characters are believable and work well as a cast, and the end steers toward a sequel, but doesn't fail to give book one only readers a solid ending. There are some gross parts and some gore near the end - I almost had to pause when Jamie and Kaitlin were on the roof - but it isn't over the top. The language gets a bit strong for middle grade, in my opinion, but if I'm being honest, it's no worse than what I've heard students saying when they don't think I'm close enough to hear them.
This is a great story that kept me entertained and will do the same for other readers who are fans of horror, terror, and suspense. I am eagerly anticipating part two.

Wow! This audiobook has everything!
It is more like an audio drama and I more than enjoyed it.
It is probably one of the best audiobooks, and I am not just talking about the story.
While very intriguing, the story kept me on my toes, but I am more enamored by the fabulous audio production.
Everything was top-notch - from narrators (more like voice actors, really), background sounds, and mixing.
Also, while intended for teens, I was fully invested in the story and can't wait to discover what happens next.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the second part!
Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author for granting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Creepy School Bus is a fantastic, suspenseful YA horror novel that gave me major Goosebumps vibes! The audiobook is a full-on production, with a full cast recording and eerie sound effects that make it an incredible experience—it could easily be a movie. I listened while walking, and it felt like everything was happening around me, which was such a cool and immersive feeling. I really enjoyed the story, and if you love eerie, fast-paced YA horror, this is a must-listen!

So, here's the thing there is nothing objectively wrong with the Creepy School Bus. I just didn't realize it was a dramatization audiobook. If I had known I would have passed on it. The story is well written, and I think will be pleasant for the audience its intended for. That audience just wasn't me. I found most of the characters unbearable to hear from, and the background noises took me out of it. By the end I had guessed most of the story, and nothing was taking me by surprise.

A big thank you to NetGalley and R&B, audio for advanced listeners copy I saved an exchange for my honest interview. The book itself is a great elevator goosebumps esq tale about kids who are kidnapped by a creepy bus and taken to a location that nobody can find. The narration of this book has the best narration that I have ever listened to. Each and every voice actor was phenomenal, and all the extra audio really lead to an immersive experience. Well, this book was much too young for my age. It really took me back to the times of being a young child for falling in love with mystery and horror through RL Stein.

I picked this audiobook up with the expressed intent of diving into a middle grade/ YA story and that's exactly what I got.
Though it does have some quirky, humorous dialogue at times, I thought the story was pretty intriguing.
If you miss the bus home because you are held late by an "evil" teacher after class, you can always catch the later bus but it may not take you where you want to go. If the driver tries to take your phone, get out of there immediately.
Highland Park has had an uptick in missing children and now the FBI are on the case after one girl hid her phone and was able to send text messages about what she was going through until her messages stopped. Prepared for the worst but hoping for the best, a group of middle schoolers join forces (very Goonies style) to try and solve the mystery.
The audiobook was really good as it did have a full cast with sound effects. There are moments when the dialogue is a bit simple and silly, but it is a middle grade book. It's kind of like diving into an "Are You Afraid of the Dark" episode; there are definitely nostalgic vibes.

When you get on a bus, never hand over your phone, lol. You would think that is common sense, but nothing good ever comes out of surrendering your phone.
“The Creepy School Bus “ is a spooky middle-grade horror story about missing children in a small town called Highland Park. Two children go missing. The FBI sees a pattern of many children being abducted. Students are concerned about their missing friends, so they decide to investigate, and they go missing one by one. The FBI investigation intensifies. Meanwhile, a rogue school bus is picking up students. What is happening to these children? I loved this one. I binged it on an afternoon.
“The Creepy School Bus” is based on the YouTube horror mystery. It was extremely well done. The audiobook has a full case, sound effects, and music. It is a literal movie in your ears. A nice spooky mystery to entertain you on an afternoon.

This audiobook was quite the experience! The story itself might not be the most intriguing thing ever, but the narration and entire production was superb. Phenomenal in a single word. Loved how intense it was despite being short. Will definitely check out more audiobooks from these narrators.

This book was so good! The full cast and sound effects added to the overall quality and spookiness of this read. The narrators were awesome and the storyline was fast paced. Really loved this one. 😍🚌

This gave Goosebumps vibes!
Such an entertaining audiobook. A full cast and the sounds made this next level! An entertaining listen for sure!
This is definitely for middle school aged level, but it was still enjoyable.
All in all, highly recommend!
