If you mishear the song, Tracey Ullman made her reservation because she can't fakeaway. We can with this, so booked tables are no longer necessary, as it's all about rustling up the fast food orders we know and love in the safety of our home. (Literally the safety – we've been told about how knives are sharp several times before we've seen a recipe, so there's no excuse.) Starting with breakfast and brunch dishes, we go through the menu skittering from venue to franchise to brand to chain, alphabetically arranged as they are in each menu category. So there's Denny's and IHOP equivalents, the real breakfast burrito, and so on – and that's way before thinking about pre-lunch snacks.
The recipes are well-presented, and very readable and clear. They might have to be as we barely have room for any photos of the done thing. And all the time we get little factoids and trivia about the chains or dishes concerned – which slightly oddly includes all the instances where these stores sell you the products needed to take their proprietary flavours home with you in the first place.
But all told this will work. A trend for bloomin' onions made the rounds a year or two ago – and here's how (and why) not to go out for one. Did you really think it was worth whatever was charged for it?! If you know how to make a chicken salad, you can have it taste like Applebee's oriental one, perfectly easily – and the same applies for everything, from iced drinks to the biscuits with your KFC gravy, if you really must.
The caveat is that this is very much for the US audience – in what it's trying to reproduce, at least. While I'm sure many of these dishes taste wonderful in any country, it's not a global market that is trying to eat like they're at O'Charley's – they're only in thirteen states as it is, according to this. But that said, this is a recipe book first and foremost. It's not a love letter to the eateries I've never heard of (hello, Panera Bread), for it's still a volume full of advice on how to cook. Many cookbooks do (or should) have a wonton soup recipe in – why worry if it tastes like a specific brand's version? It's still perfectly useable, if you're a fan or not. There's no magic in Mrs Fields' chocolate chip cookies – but they're probably fine to scoff regardless.
OK, riffing off The Cheesecake Factory is not going to get you the most authentic Thai dish ever, but it can't hurt to have it in your locker. By no means is this just loaded with burger after burger after loaded burger, either, for there really is a lot for everyone. And it also sneaks in a few seasonal specials, too – things not sold year-round.
So, all told, this does the fakeaway pretty well, with a great variety of foodstuffs to mimic. And it actually works as a cheap-n-easy cookbook, whether it succeeds in copying the big cats or not. Compared to many recipe books it's stuffed with low-in-finesse, high-in-flavour things to try. And you never know, ace all of this and you might just be able to open your doors and cook something professionally… Four and a half stars.

I love this recipe book!!! It has so many copycat recipes, they all seem pretty simple, so not sure if they are all too accurate. But it is good and has a ton of recipes!

Thank you the Everything Books and Netgalley for this ARC. While I’ve not made anything from this yet, I love the variety of recipes contained in it. I also think all of the recipes seem very straightforward and easy to follow, and I’m looking forward to trying some out soon!

This is very much the typical copy cat restaurant cookbook. Unfortunately, many of the recipes I had seen before in similar cookbooks so there was not a lot that was new to me. For some, it may be nice to have these recipes in one spot but most are easily found online if you are looking for only a few of them.

I’ve seen a lot of restaurant copycat cookbooks, but most seem to be filled with either obscure restaurants or recipes that don’t seem like it could be close to a copycat recipe. Even worse, some include recipes for basic things that aren’t going to vary much.
Kelly Jaggers has brought together a ton of recipes from restaurants all over, most of which I actually knew. I was even more excited when I would think of a restaurant fave and sure enough it was there!
I’m excited to try the recipes for IHOP Pancakes and Waffle House Waffles, Texas Roadhouse Rolls and Olive Garden Breadsticks, and so much more.

This is a great book for people in the US that are familiar with the restaurants and the food featured in the book!
The book is divided into sections such as Breakfast and Brunch, Appetizers and Snacks, Soup and Salad, Sandwiches and Burgers, Entrees, Sides and my favourite- Desserts!
Having visited the US several times, I knew some of the restaurants, but not all. This book will definitely appeal to people who love to cook and recreate the recipes in the book. The photographs were very appealing, the ingredients easy to find and the instructions simple to follow.
There were not too many options for a vegetarian or a vegan though.
I personally loved the Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup, the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, the Starbucks Iced Lemon Loaf and the delicious Subway White Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies!
This book has indulgent recipes, made with loads of cream or butter or sugar….for an occasional treat.
Thank you to NetGalley for letting me indulgent my sweet tooth and enjoy baking from this book.

There are many different copycat recipes. Many that sounds very appealing and appetizing. I'm sure someone can find more than a few recipes within this cookbook to try. A bunch of the recipes I wouldn't be able to try if not for the recipes found within in this cookbook. I don't have some of these restaurants near me.

What a fun cookbook with all your favourite copycat recipes. Now all the food you love to eat out can be made at home. Having just spend 3 months travelling around the USA I found this a bit of fun and can now make some of those recipes we ate while we where visiting at home. The recipes are easy to follow and easy to make, no fancy ingredients or long lists to follow. Just good down home cooking.
I do wish there had been more photos for each of the recipes but the ones there were made me hungry. A great book, lots of fun and a great addition to my already heaving cookbook shelf!
Thank you NetGalley and Adams Media for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

As an aussie who has travelled to the US, I've been to many well know chains, and tried many of the popular dishes. We can't get them here. I dream about them. I'm thrilled to be able to get my hands on this book, which dabbles in some of the world renowned and iconic dishes, some I know, some I don't, and be able to remake them at home!

I have been looking for a book just like this for years and was so happy to see it out. When I go out to eat, I wish I could make this at home, and this book was just that. Several recipes were straightforward and tasted similar to what I found in the restaurants. For those who are looking for a way to recreate those dishes you'd find in a restaurant, this book is for you. Now, I must purchase it to add to my cookbook collection, and I may get one to give as a gift to my dad.

This book has lots of easy to make recipes, from familiar and favorite restaurants. I love to cook, so this is a perfect addition to my kitchen.

Loved all the recipes and pictures showcasing some very appetizing recipes! I can't wait to try the recipes for myself! Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great fun trying some of the recipes. Some turned out better than others but I think that's down to my cooking skills.
Great for dipping into when you don't know what's for dinner.

I'm not from the US so a lot of the dishes were foreign to me. That being said, they did look delicious and I enjoyed trying out a couple.
The book is split into different categories; introduction, breakfast/brunch, appetisers/snacks, soup/salad, sandwiches/burgers, various entrees, sides, desserts and drinks. There was even a handy US/metric conversion chart and substitutions at the end.
As a vegetarian, I found that there was an okay range of options Though I will say that in the seafood and vegetarian entrees section, there was only one vegetarian dish. What I'm trying to say, is that I don't know that naming the section vegetarian was the right call, as it is seafood bar 1.
I think this book is a great idea, especially because you can have the delicious meals that you eat out, but have control over the ingredients. You could easily swap and change ingredients to suit your needs.

This cookbook was a great compilation of recipes he top restaurant foods. Recipes are easy to follow and the photos make everything look delicious! Many of them require a deep fryer, which I don’t think is as common as it used to be, and I’m not sure if an air fryer would work as a substitution. Overall, a nice mix of recipes!

I'm getting hungry just reading about these recipes. This cookbook has some of my favorites including Chili's southwestern egg rolls, Applebee's artichoke dip and Chipotle's guacamole.
The range also includes Subway sandwiches all the way to The Cheesecake Factory and Buca di Beppo!
There is something delicious in every section, but the appetizers is really where this shines, in my opinion.
The only issue that I see is that it goes back and forth between making everything in the recipe from scratch on one page and on another page you buy most of the ingredients already made. For example, instead of making biscuits and gravy from scratch, the author includes a package of biscuits as an ingredient. This could also be beneficial if you want an easy recipe sometimes, but something more complex other times.
I also like a cookbook with a picture for each recipe, but this one only had a few photos. Excuse me while I go make a Wendy's Frosty.

Loved being able to try some of the recipes (They turned out FANTASTIC.)
Loved the start where you gave tips and tricks and things to own, as some people want to make there favorite recipe from XYZ and have no idea where to start.
The images are SO delicious lo0king, though I'd (of course) prefer more to see what the things are supposed to look like.

I have always loved the copycat restaurant books. This one does not disappoint. It has clearly been updated, as it includes Crumbl cookies and the Starbucks Pink Drink. Now I can make it at home!
