Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this book as an e-arc!
This was the end of The Nightfire Quartet, and we see how things wrap up for Zarya, Rabin, and of course... Yasen! My favourite character of the series -- the lovable, sarcastic, witty sidekick.
We start with Zarya getting to know Abishek, and hoping to find out more about her magic. Zarya and Rabin both feel a bit uncertain at times, but decide to trust Abishek so that they can learn more about her magic and their bond.
I think a lot of this story focuses on the power of love and hope, which is always an important message, especially when the world is so chaotic and scary. The book shows the power of people banding together for the power of good.
Tropes:
*Fated mates
*Prophecy
*Sarcastic sidekick
*Found family
*Banter
*Dragon shifter

This was the perfect conclusion to the Nightfire Quartet. I laughed, cried, and swooned. The found family in this book is top tier!!! I also loved the themes of community throughout the book. Overall, this is one of my favorite series, and while I’m sad to see it end, this wrap up was incredible!

What an incredible final installment! I came for the story and stayed for the characters. As always, Nisha’s world-building is phenomenal, and her description of Andhera is captivating.
My love for Zarya, Rabin, Yasin, and Row grew with every book, and they all shined in Queen of Shadows and Ruin! Zarya has embraced her magic, although she still fears the darkness inside her. Rabin's found a home in Zarya and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Yasin, the most amazing best friend ever, owns a piece of my heart. Beneath his sarcastic "don't take me seriously" exterior lies a marshmallow center, longing for love and acceptance. And let's not forget Row. The relationship that grows between him and Zarya is one neither of them could've imagined in Heart of Night and Fire.
Now the story….
Wanted for crimes against the crown, Zarya, Rabin, Yasin, and Miraan must flee Gi’ana. After hearing conflicting stories about him, Zarya has fought against meeting her father, King Abishek. However, they need a safe haven. Rabin convinces her to travel to Andhera to meet with him, hoping they can sway Abishek to their cause of freeing the vanshaj.
The lies, secrets, and betrayals continue to flourish. Is Abishek the kind man who took Rabin in almost 20 years ago or the power-hungry tyrant Row has painted? Can they trust one another and work together to stop the prophecy of impending darkness from coming true? Rabin repeatedly states that he’ll do anything to keep Zarya safe. Will that promise be tested?
There are so many questions leading into this book, and everything wraps up nicely. It’s a bit slow in places, mainly due to world-building, but the end results are worth it, especially all the loving relationships that come together by the end of the series. Who knew I’d love Yasen and Row so much by the end of this series?!
In this book, you'll find...
* Found Family
* Dragon Shifter
* Multiple POVs
* Touch Her and Die
* Unique Magic System
The Nightfire Quartet is the perfect series for romantic fantasy lovers!

Queen of Shadows and Ruin is the fourth and final book in The Nightfire Quarter. Let me tell you — THIS is how you wrap up a series. There were so many delicate interwoven plot threads that Tuli beautifully connected. Plot points that originally seemed to be unrelated ended up connecting in surprising ways. This book definitely kept me on my toes. Also, it wouldn’t be a Tuli book if there wasn’t a little heartbreak - this time in the form of betrayal. I also love how supportive Rabin and Zarya are of each other. It also doesn’t hurt that they have sizzling chemistry. My favorite relationship, though, continues to be the friendship between Zarya and Yasen. It’s so wholesome while also resulting in some of the best one liners in the series. I also really love how the relationship between Zarya and Row evolved and grew. I have enjoyed every minute of this book and series. I can’t recommend reading it enough.

Perfect end to an amazing series. Nisha has once again created a magical world that she has invited us into, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. This story was a perfect balance of compelling plot with beautiful romance. Love, magic, betrayal, plot twists, amazing side characters, AND a dragon - this series has it all, and I'm here for it.
Thank you to Nisha Tuli, Second Sky, and Netgalley for this ARC read!

That was a hellacious ride of an ending! I was on tenterhooks at certain plot-twists, shouting out when the baddies seemed to be winning, grinning like a loon when Zee and Rabin were at their feisty, bantery best. And Yasen...ah, Yasen my favourite sidekick, bestie, warrior and reluctant-ish paramour! I was so happy that he got his man at long last!
Zarya and Rabin are on a whirlwind adventure. They're crossing into enemy territory, meeting her father, finding out what's really going on with her step-sister and instigating a continent-wide rebellion! They need to dreg up every ounce of magic and courage to get through this one. The outside forces are trying everything to break them and at times it almost feels like they really will have to go on without one another.
Poor Zee only ever really wanted a family to love and just when she has what she wants her bio family seem intent on ripping it asunder. Zee is the kind of FMC I love, she is tough, no nonsense, intelligent, resilient and a touch naïve and vulnerable. Rabin is at his touch-her-and-die best, with a slice of emotional torture thrown in. I had a very satisfied smile when he finally put his family to rights!
I'm really bummed to be leaving this world behind. The description of the land, the people, the mythology and belief system is so vibrant and fresh (and let's face it thankfully not based on Western myths!) The South Eastern Asian influence is stamped loud and proud all over this and I'm here for it. Also this is a world which is queer-normative. No one blinks an eye at who you love, unless you're royalty! This was a kind of mirror to some of the things going on IRL right now and I really enjoyed the way the author wrapped up this series

This is the final installment of the Nightfire Quartet and Nisha J Tuli left absolutely nothing behind.
This cannot be read as a stand alone or you will be completely lost, start at the beginning and buckle up.
This is a story told in multiple third person POVs, continuous with the rest of the series. I binged them all. These covers and the world building and character arcs are amazing. This is a story I know I will return to time and time again and constantly find new clues and missed moments of foreshadowing and intertwining.
Rabin and Zarya go through so much throughout the series, but especially in this final one. Of course, Yasen is a favorite of mine.
This really hits home with the Found Family, Fated Mates, Prophecy, Romantasy tropes. Who doesn't love a dragon shifter and a female who can fight her own battles with some of the strongest magic to have ever existed? Add in touch her and die, friend groups, and the banter... AND GROVELLLLL multiple times over (throughout the whole series).
I ate it upp.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

Firstly, thank you to Second Sky publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC for an HONEST review of this book ❤️
Holy crap this was so good!
In this satisfying conclusion to the series Zarya and the rest of the gang are absolutely going through it.
We get more amazing world building when Zarya meets her biological father to try to get his help in aiding her with her magic to help win the revolution.
Book 4 kept me on my toes for sure since there were so many things that I just couldn’t have predicted happening.
I’ve said this for every book but I seriously love all of the characters in these books and I’m incredibly happy to see their stories come to a well deserved end.
I while I’m sad to say goodbye to this world (for now) I absolutely cannot wait for Nisha’s next works! ❤️

Queen of Shadows and Ruin by Nisha J. Tuli
Book 4 of The Nightfire Quartet
I’m obsessed with Zarya and how strong she is. I love how she hasn’t changed throughout and she tries so hard to help everyone around her. She doesn’t care about defying anybody as long as what she does is the right thing. Sweet Rabin, love him so much! He also is so selfless and the love he has for Zarya is out of this world.
Yasen, sweet commendable Yasen. He is an amazing strong character, doing what it is right and is so loved if only he found himself worthy. Yasen loves so hard for his people.
Soooo many twists and turns, questions and eventually answers. I went through all the emotions with this one. Nisha kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I am so honored to be able to ARC read this entire series for Nisha. One of the best fantasy romance writers.

Queen of Shadows and Ruin is the fourth and final book in this thrilling Nightfire Quartet series. Nisha has outdone herself as each book in this series. This was the perfect ending to this uniquely intriguing series filled with stunning rich detail of this beautiful world, suspense, and twists and turns keeping the reader mesmerized and wanting more. I can't rave enough about this series and I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed!

Rabin and Zarya are a beautiful couple. They are sacrificing their lives to be together. “I would have made the same choice over and over, even knowing what I know now. Zarya had challenges growing up to be a queen of Rahajhan. May all their dreams come true. Interesting, romantic, wonderful characters. I received a copy from the author voluntarily decided to review.

What a magical ending to the Nightfire Quartet.
The power of standing together and fighting back can spark change.

4.5🌟
The way that Tuli has been able to successfully complete 2 major quartets in the past 6 months is stunning (Artefacts of Ouranos was done at the end of 2024). This series, which uses a lot of south Asian mythology, was fascinating! The story centers on a primary couple, but also dives deeper into the side characters' relationships as well. It is emotional to read stories where everyone gets the endings they deserve (especially the bad guys), and the MCs get the ending they were, quite literally, created to receive. 💖

Book 4 of the Night Quartet Series
I am so sad to say that this the last book in a fantastic series and I will miss Zarya and her amazing family.
This series ended off with a huge bang and has exceeded my expectations. The entire series was done so beautifully and had all the tropes and elements that has me obsessed with reading fantasy books. Every single book in this series was amazing and the final book did not disappoint.
I would read these books over and over for the rest of my life because the author has swept me away to fictional lands of rich culture, flavour and fashion. She created a world I hated getting away from and I am looking forward to whatever comes next.
A huge thank you to NetGalley, Second Sky Books & Nisha J. Tuli for a free copy of this e-ARC in exchange for this honest review.

High 4.5 star so rounded up to 5 star. I love Nisha J Tuli writting style, I discovered her when she was indie published so seeing her have this series traditionally published is a delight.
She knows how to write strong characters that developed throughout the pages and knows how to grip you from early in the book. I binged this book in a day, and was a great conclusion to the nightfire Quartet. Although parts where predicable, you didn't see how they would get from A to B. I loved how no lose ends and all came to a conclusion.
I just want more as I loved the world, the descriptions all the chai tea, mention of various foods, culture. I also find her writting style is very unique.
If your looking for a light fantasy series which great description, character development, keeps you gripped then pick this series up. I've recommended it to others who have also loved the series. Also recommended checking out Nisha other books.

5 stars 🌟
Another amazing wrap-up to an epic story by our queen Nisha 👑👏🙌
I devoured this book; it had everything I wanted and more. I absolutely love how Nisha writes her characters, and you fall in love with every single one of them (well, the good guys anyway; the rest you despise 🤣)!
So many emotional moments, so many nail-biting, heart-stopping moments—I just couldn't put this book down.
I absolutely loved how we got answers for everything and could not be happier with how it ended. I have to say I will be sad not to read more about Zaraya and Yasen, as they are my absolute favorite besties 💗. And Row 😭😭😭
I honestly think this is my favorite series by Nisha, and it totally deserves so much love ❤️.
If you love the below, you definitely need to pick up this series:
• Dragon daddy 🐉
• Spice 🌶
• Enemies to lovers ⚔️
• Unique magic system 🪄
• Asian-inspired world ☕️🫖
• Beautiful world-building 🌏
• Lovable characters ❤️
• Epic fight scenes 😵
• Totally justified revenge 💀
• A happy ending 😊
• The best of friends 🧡
• Found family 👨👩👧👧

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
The heart-pounding end to this fabulous romantasy series had me desperate for a good outcome for the characters I'd grown to love so much over 4 books. The series has everything you want from a good romantasy - incredible world building, sizzling romance, compelling characters, plus some brilliant political scheming, shocking secrets and a simmering rebellion too! Zarya's journey from lonely, unsure girl to fully fledged magic wielding woman is a pleasure to behold. The Indian-inspired fantasy world is layered and beautifully described. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves their romantasy with a generous helping of well thought out plot.

I might have found my new romantasy series. This one was exceptional. Zarya, Rabin and Yasen might be my characters of all time… I can’t believe I said that. But the story over all four books was wonderful but the way the final book in this quartet wrapped everything up was great.
I loved the magic system as well as it felt different from most other fantasy reads. It was exciting and a quick read that I forced myself to slow down to enjoy.

What a great ending to a really amazing series. This books wrapped everything up perfectly and tied up any loose ends and burning questions that were had. Nisha writes a tale or redemption, acceptance, love and growth with the perfect ending.
The biggest takeaway from this book, and series as a whole, is the growth that each character went through. Zarya obviously went though the biggest character development from being friendless and sheltered to having so many rely on her and building bonds along the way. She had to deal with all of a sudden learning about this awesome power and the responsibility that comes with it. What I admire most about her though are her convictions. She never once waivers on what she feels is the right thing to do even when she is being pressured from those around her. She is always backed up and supported by Rabin, Yasen and Row.
Rabin also had such growth in this series and it really shows in this book. He became such a cinnamon roll of Zarya and is willing to do anything for her, even when he thinks something might be off. His whole purpose is to love and keep her safe while also not smothering her. He is a great husband, friend and ally for her. He story is so sad in the fact that someone who he viewed as a father was just using him all along. Luckily he got his happy ending.
Yasen will continue to be my favorite. He grew so much as an individual. From someone who would just be the jokester in order to build a wall so that no one got close to him, to learning to love fully and openly. It was Zarya's friendship that taught him that he is worthy or love and I am so happy he got his happy ending the Miraan.
Overall, I truly loved this book and I am going to miss these characters so much.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
