The Death of the Detective by Mark Smith
728 Pages
Publisher: Brash Books
Release Date: February 3, 2015
Fiction, Mystery, Thriller, Hard-boiled
The story centers around two main characters: Arnold Magnuson and John Cavan. I found the book to be a hard read. I was not able to place the time frame. The pace of the story was slow and there were too many characters to keep track. It was a revenge-based plot. There are many derogatory racial slurs. If you were not a white man, you were given a name. I saw other reviews for this book but have to say, this book was just not for me.

This story is not a whodunit but Detective Magnunson is not aware of that. Read as he investigates and tracks down the killer.
Many thanks to Brash Books and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
