Book two of the Hell Bent series where we follow Mishetsumephtai as he learns how to attempt to blend with humans and meets Lily who he feels stands out to him among all of the humans. As the hunter he is meant to drag anyone that escapes back to hell, but he has secretly made an exception in the past and now he is willing to look past Asmodeus and his brothers if they help him get a human 'pet' too which he really is referring to a human partner.
Lily has left her homeland and moved as far as she could with her sister to escape her tragic past. She has also distanced herself from the witchcraft she grew up practicing because it reminds her too much of her family's coven back home.
While Mist questions his duty and his loyalties, Lily questions if distancing herself from her roots is really even possible. I enjoyed Mist and Lily's love story a lot and I think that the series keeps getting better with each book!

Thank you @NetGalley and @KensingtonPublishing for the ARC. I loved My Funny Demon Valentine and could not wait to read the second book.
My Demon Hunter follows Mist, a rogue demon hunter, who is sent to Earth to bring back the Prince of Hell. Only problem is Mist likes the freedom of Earth and wants to leave his enslavement from Hell. When he meets Lily he wants to get to know her better, but what does he know about dating a human, he is a demon. With new friends who are willing to teach him the art of wooing and find a way to break his bonds to Hell, he and Lily just might have a chance at love.

Another cute demon romance from Ascher! Funny and lighthearted, spicy and emotional. Love especially the way different body types are profiled as desirable. Banter, funny personalized demons with their personal quirks and ways, loved it from the beginning to the end!

Omg, I absolutely devoured this book in one whole sitting. I was on a road trip and thought this was the best time to read this and it did not disappoint. This book is definitely a whole lot different than the first one (My Funny Demon Valentine) in terms of focus. This one has some romance no doubt, but it also has some very good plot that goes along with the romance.

Honestly, I personally really liked their relationship dynamic gradually growing as well as the acceptance. With My Funny Demon Valentine, while I did enjoy it, it had a lot of sex scenes and not much plot other than Ash and Eva trying to figure out the whole demon reveal thing. While with My Demon Hunter, I didn’t get a sex scene until like 200 pages and although it is romance, I felt very content with the plot driving the relationship into becoming what it became. When they finally got to the sex scene, I screamed and I was rooting for them because FINALLY! Honestly, the way that Mist makes Lily feel more comfortable in herself just by being and embracing who he is, demon and all, really makes their relationship wholesome. Like, Mist was a possessive gentleman but like that was the appeal and I understand Lily. There is a charm to a very honest but sincere person telling you how they feel and not regretting it. Also the way they ONLY fuck inn his demon form is just CHEF KISS! Demon-fucking to its true definition.

I also love how we got introduced to the character again in the first novel again. Like BELIAL MY CHEF YOU STILL ARE SHORT TEMPERED, and I am really interested in Meph and Iris (Lily’s sister) sudden dynamic. Like, I am so proud of Belial keeping his promise with Skye but also I am slowly (very slowly) getting pissed off at how the rest of the demons are expecting Belial to be the hero of the entire scenario and honestly I understand Belial because he’s having the first born older sibling syndrome. Let my man get his rest. Please.
Maybe because I am more of a plot person and I don’t necessarily tend to read romance but this entire book officially made it to my READ AGAIN list. Like I love how the books are romance focused on the demon brothers getting with these badass women BUT I ALSO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE THE PLOT THAT IS HAPPENING AS WELL! I very genuinely have so many good things to say about this book and I can’t wait to read more of this series.

This book follows a demon who wants a partner and begins to have feelings for a witch. This book is the second in the series and it’s recommended you read book one to understand the world and how the MCs are where they are. I enjoyed this book especially after finding out how Mist’s character is like from the ending of book 1. Ascher did an amazing job with creating a new storyline and having many different conflicts. I do have to say that I enjoyed the book a lot more in the beginning but then the ending did start to drag a bit. As much as the conflicts were great, there were a lot of POV switches that made the story a bit messy. This book is mainly told from Mist and Lily’s pov in a third pov.

Mist is the MMC and let me say that he is hilarious. It’s not on purpose but because of how he doesn’t know how the human world works. I love how he cares but it’s hard for him to do so with his past. I liked seeing his development. Then we have Lily and she is a sweetheart. I loved her story and seeing how her past connects with the world she has forgetten. She also grows but I wish we got to tap more into her powers. There are many side characters in this book which I know will be leads for the future stories. The story is a bit steamy (2-3 scenes) with the instant love trope.

The ending was not the best. I think too much started to happen and it started to rush a bit. Overall, I still really enjoyed the story and had so much fun. I am excited to see where Ascher goes with this series next.

I fully enjoyed this book as much as the first book. I loved that the FMC was not your average beauty. She had curves and she loved to make clothes for plus-size women. She tries to be confident, but she does have body image insecurities. Mist. doesn't see any faults with Lily or her body. If anything, she should eat more of the ice cream she wants! Mist is a demon hunter who was sent out to capture the Hell demon brothers on Earth. But he finds himself tired of being a slave to the king of Hell and wants his own human pet, I mean.. girlfriend. He wishes to live among the humans as the hell brothers do. Lily caught his eye, and he couldn't get enough of her, but he wasn't free of his master. Mist was being called back to report on the hunt, and he couldn't find a way to keep Lily safe while also ridding himself of his master. Lily is moving on from a tragic past. She doesn't want anything to do with her magic as a witch, but her Twin sister is constantly trying to get her to accept who she is. Lily's twin sister Iris has been keeping something from her, and it's the reason why she has been so protective of her sister.

The story kept my attention, it was funny, spicy, and I can't wait to read the third book.
Thank you Kensington Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Ascher crafts a compelling protagonist in Mishetsumephtai, or Mist, a demon hunter weary of his millennia-long enslavement. His internal conflict, beautifully portrayed, is what truly makes him captivating. We witness his gradual transformation from a ruthless servant of Hell to a being capable of questioning his purpose, all thanks to the magnetic pull of Lily. The author masterfully depicts Mist's struggle between his duty and his burgeoning feelings, making him a complex and surprisingly sympathetic character.
Lily Donovan, haunted by her past and desperately trying to suppress her true nature, is equally compelling. Her encounter with Mist throws her carefully constructed world into chaos, forcing her to confront the very things she's been running from. The chemistry between Lily and Mist is palpable. Their connection is a potent mix of lust and something deeper, something that threatens to unravel both of their carefully guarded secrets.
Overall, this story is a captivating read perfect for fans of paranormal romance with a dark edge.

This is the second book and the series and I suggest you start with the first book. This has been a fun series so far, the characters are likeable considering it is a story with demons. Aren't demons supposed to be scary? It had a lot of LOL moments and some spice. It is a quick fun read and I can't wait for the rest of the series. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

💬 All right! So if you remember my previous reviews I read My Funny Demon Valentine, (Hell Bent series #1) and it wasn't my favorite. I skimmed a lot of it because I wanted to know the gist of that story since I had this one as an ARC. And also you will need to read them in order to understand what's happening in this book.

Definitely like this one better. It's more emotional and I enjoyed the action more. Maybe it's because I sort of knew what to expect from reading the first book, but I also understood what was happening in this one better. Overall, I liked the MCs, Mist and Lily better too, although I found their romance to be more believable than Ash and Eva.

Plus, Mist in general was just breaking my poor little heart 🥺🥺🥺🥺 and along with that this book was way funnier then the first- the broody I hate you but I love you thing is hilarious.

I appreciate that Lily is plus size but if I'm being honest the way that he kept going on about it and about her looks wasn't really working for me. But to be fair, I do have...opinions... on plus size FMCs, so I usually avoid reading those stories. I also wasn't thrilled with the first spicy scene where he's talking about seeing all of her folds (meaning her stomach folds) but I get that other people enjoy it.

What I liked more was how they both struggled with their self-esteem in their own similar but different ways, especially how they were honest about their insecurities.

'“This isn’t about you, I swear. You’re perfect.” She gestured to him. “You’re huge and gorgeous and perfect, and I’m just used to hiding my body.” “I’m not perfect. I’m a demon.” She snorted . “I suppose you’re right. But you seem pretty perfect to me.” “And you seem perfect to me.”'

::SWOON::

Ultimately though I think demon spicy times aren't my jam and overall the series is not for me, so I probably will not continue reading the rest of the books even though the setup for Iris and Meph seemed fun. We'll see though 🤔

The second installment of the Hell Bent series is a wonderful addition that enriches the narrative. It was enjoyable to reunite with familiar and endearing characters, while also being introduced to a captivating new love story featuring Mist and Lily. The humor, emotional depth, and romantic tension were all exceptionally well-crafted.

Lily, a plus-size woman with secret powers as a witch, and Mist, a demon whose awkwardness in human form leads to delightful interactions, share an engaging dynamic that is both charming and entertaining. Their chemistry is a perfect blend of sweetness and intensity, making their relationship particularly appealing.

This series consistently offers themes of camaraderie, humorous moments, and characters that resonate as relatable and genuine. The narrator skillfully brings the characters to life, enhancing the reading experience. The combination of paranormal romance, intricate world-building, and compelling character development positions this book as a highly recommended read.

No notes, give me 1000 more of this! I absolutely loved this book. Demon cinnamon rolls get me all the time and Mist was 1000000% a growly possessive one. I really enjoyed Lily's journey to badassery and I'm super excited to see where her and Iris' story is going.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington publishing for the ARC. All comments are my own.

This was so great! I loved the characters, the spice was so good, and the story is fun and engaging. The MMC especially is my favourite type sort of feral but also an absolute sweetheart

Oh I am all about this series!

Demon romance with found family, magic & mischief?! Irresistible.

The whole plot was so fun. Lily & Mist went through a lot to be together but hey what’s a few trips to hell between lovers?

Can’t wait for the next one!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher & Aurora Ascher of course.

This was a fantastic follow up to My Funny Demon Valentine and at times it was so lol funny?
I loved that this book didn't focus on the four demons that escaped but rather the hunter. The story flows really well and I couldn't put it down. I will definitely continue this series as the following books come out!

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and were not affected by the free copy.

Mishetsumephtai has been enslaved to an evil demon queen for millennia, but he's finally ready to try and break free. Lily is trying to run from her past. Together, maybe they both can find what they need.

I adored Mist and Lily's story. Mist was such an awkward, sweetheart of a duck, and Lily was so realistically portrayedm with all of her self-consciousness and introvertedness. I loved watching them both find themselves, andf I LOVE an accidental heroine save the man (demon) in distress.

The pacing was pretty good, there were never any parts that felt like they dragged, though occassionally we rushed through some things. I think I ended up enjoying this book more than the first.

I will definitely be continuing the series. I recommend this series for any fans of romance, paranormal, and found families.

Aurora Ascher has done it again! This book was just as good as the first book in the series, if not slightly better! Mist and Lily are both such lovable characters with a common enemy. There is love, family, wrath, lust, friendship, everything to make an enticing story! I need book 3! 😍

This was a fun mix of action, romance, and the supernatural. The story follows a demon hunter in a dangerous, otherworldly world, with great characters and solid world-building. It sticks to some familiar tropes but still keeps things exciting and fast-paced—perfect for fans of paranormal romance and spicey content.

This book was very fun! I really enjoyed the plot that this book followed, and I was never bored while I was reading and listening.

The main characters, both having some paranormal abilities, helped me get into the story much quicker than it normally takes me to get into more paranormal/monster romances. I really enjoyed how they both were portrayed as separate, whole people with their own interest and lives rather than being partial characters that then complete each other.

My only issue was that the smut always seemed to happen quickly and suddenly and kind of interrupted the flow of the book, but it was well written, so I will let that slide.

Thank you to Kensington for the ARC and ALC!
