Yall I didn’t think I could enjoy a second book in a series more than the first. However, “My Demon Hunter” did just that.

When Mist was introduced in the first book I knew his story was going to be great. And Aurora Ascher did not disappoint. Mist is a misunderstood demon that just wants freedom. He got to watch Ash find his demon happily ever after and now he wants to reach for his own. And yes before anyone says anything I know how corny that just was but I really don’t care. This series has made me fall in love with these redeemable anti-hero demons. I will follow this found family of demons through fictional hell if I have to.

Anyway back to Mist's story. I knew his backstory was going to be rough. But man it worse than I could ever imagine. My heart truly broke for him. Thankfully our awkward sweet demon boy found Lily. Lily is our MFC and quite literally the definition of adorkable. And to top it off she’s just like all of us she’s struggling with self doubt. I loved Lily even more so than Eva from book one. While Eva was outgoing, Lily is more introverted and relatable.

Mist and Lily as a couple grabbed me from the first moment they met. Their first interaction together is seriously one of the best meet-cute scenes I’ve ever read in a book. I won’t say anything more because I want everyone to experience it for themselves. Overall, their relationship developing throughout the book was truly beautiful. I loved watching their growth and acceptance of each other and themselves.

I think my only complaint was the ending and that’s more of a personal how dare it be ended on a cliffhanger. However, I’m excited for the next book in the series and I can’t recommend this series enough. If you do decide to check it out (which you should 😉) Please read My Demon Valentine first. This is an interconnected world building and if you read out of order it may not make sense.

Lastly big thank you to NetGalley & Kensington Publishing for providing me an arc to read and review!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for allowing me an advanced e-copy! All thoughts and feelings are, as always, my own.

Coming from My Funny Demon Valentine, I wasn’t expecting to like this even more- but I certainly did. While getting to see the former main cast, the new perspective you get from both the leads is refreshing and just as- if not more- rewarding to read through. The development between Meph and Lily is sweet, and honestly? For a character-driven romance, the plot is solid. As with the last book, there’s a fair bit of spice- but it all runs together incredibly well. There was nothing I didn’t like- but that final chapter? Hello? And now I have to wait for the third?

I struggle to read on a screen (hence I prefer physical books), but it was worth it 100%. Once again thank you to Kensington & NetGalley for the opportunity to read this!

Oh my god, I finished this in one day. I absolutely fell in love with Iris & Lily. The demons are my favorite and the premise is just getting better & better with the next one. The spice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I will own physical copies of this whole series and I cannot wait to read the next one. Thanks to netgalley, the publisher author for the ARC.

My Funny Demon Valentine was my first try at reading Ascher's work and I was hooked into the world she's built immediately. My Demon Hunter was just as good if not better. I love that we get a completely different perspective while still getting to spend time with characters we've already grown to know and love. Seeing Mist work through his trauma and Lily work past her insecurities to come together was really wonderful, and the ending has me too ready to read the next one. Amazing!

A lighted-hearted book with lots of insta-love. I'm not sure I would continue with the series, but fans of quirky paranormal romance would enjoy this one. I also love the positive body representation.

My Demon Hunter is the second book in the Hell Bent series that follows Mist a demon hunter that is looking to be free of his chains to Hell. Mist is slowly learning how to be human when he meets Lily Donovan, young woman that wants nothing to do with her family's coven of witches. Lily never took any interest in witchcraft unlike her twin sister Iris. When Lily see's Mist in his true form she should be scared but she is not. Now Lily needs her sister Iris's help in order to save Mist from the depths of Hell before it is too late. Like the first book in the series My Funny Demon Valentine, My Demon Hunter is filled with laughs and what true friends will do for each other. I can't wait for the third book in this series. I would like to thank both NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for letting me read an advance copy of this book.

I.....read this in one sitting while sick. Solid 3.5 for me and I cannot wait for the next one.

This kicks off right after Eva's and Ash's story and we get to see some of the aftermath of Mist's arrival and interaction with the family. He hilariously fits right in and is smitten by the first human he approaches. -insert squeal- His awkward interactions and fascination with the world is hilariously and I loved the moments between him and Eva. She treats him like a little brother, although he's so much older than her.

<spoilers> I found it cool that Lily turned out to be a witch but her being able to perform so much magic after years of non-use did have me quirking an eyebrow. Besides that, this volume had the same kind of heist and capture plot as the first one. Lily and Iris are badasses and I really hope we get to see the coven get more active and stronger with some demon knowledge. Things are for sure going to ramp up in the next volume!

Is it just me or is Eva's mother going to get matched with Raum?? And Belial with Eva's bestfriend?

</spoilers>

I really enjoy this series. It doesn't take itself too seriously and manages to add in insta love, some smut scenes, action, and fluffy endings.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC!
