Blurb: A murder in the Royal House of Saud, a secret alliance between two powerful rivals, and a race to upend the balance of power in the Middle East …
Lieutenant Keith “Chunk” Redman is no stranger to uncertainty. It’s what they train for in the Tier One. But when President Kelso Jarvis tells Gold Squadron the shocking news—that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has been murdered, the King is missing, and the House of Saud has framed two Mossad agents—it’s clear the Middle East has become a powder keg just waiting to explode.
To get to the bottom of it, Gold Squadron must split up: Chunk leading a team of Israeli operatives; sniper Saw taking the helm of Gold; while intel analyst Whitney Watts heads into the belly of the beast itself, the Royal Palace in Saudi Arabia, where she must risk her life to uncover the truth about the Crown Prince’s murder.
Andrews and Wilson always write a good story. This one is no exception. The Israelis supposedly murdered the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. But all is not what it seems. Then there is the possible nuclear threat.
This is the first Sons of Valor book I've read, having only read their Tier One series, so I'll definitely go back to the others at some stage.
This book was well written and kept the pages turning. This pair are Military Thiller authors at the top of their game.
Thanks to #Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this story.

Another good entry into the Dempsey world, but this time without Jack being present. This story focused on Chunk and Heels. They are tasked with saving the world, or at least a portion of it from a nuclear attack and likely WWIII.
I felt that the build up was slow - sometimes gratingly so - but once the action really started there was no stopping. That part was absolutely brilliant. Thank you to NetGalley for the read!

Sons of Valor: False Flag is another explosive, high-stakes masterpiece from Andrews & Wilson—authors I never miss, and with good reason. From the first page, the action is relentless, the stakes are razor-sharp, and the writing pulses with authenticity only two military veterans can deliver. The geopolitics feel ripped from tomorrow’s headlines: a murdered Saudi prince, a vanishing king, and an Iranian false flag operation with the power to ignite global war. As always, Chunk and Whitney steal the show with their evolving bond and tactical brilliance—so much so that I named my dog Chunk after him. The tension is intense, but what grounds this book is its heart.
One moment that hit especially hard was the loss of a key character—my heart genuinely broke. But just as Andrews & Wilson are masters of action, they’re masters of emotional payoff. I love how they reference a major player from another series placing these Easter eggs inside of their books a nod to longtime fans and I look forward to those. False Flag might be the boldest installment in the Sons of Valor series yet, and it proves once again that no one writes high-octane, deeply human military thrillers like this duo. If you're not reading Andrews & Wilson, you're missing out on the very best in the genre.

Another great book by Andrews and Wilson, Sons of Valor IV: False Flag picks up from the previous books and continues the series along really well. I love this series, a spin off of the Tier One universe. The way they weave in the characters from the universe is great.
This book revolves around an assassination of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Very plausible story with all that is happening in the real world right now.
Don’t want to miss this one; action, suspense and some very emotional moments make this a great entry into the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in advance of publication.

This series is always a great read and keeps getting better with each installment. False Flag is no exception.

SONS OF VALOR IV FALSE FLAG - My first book of this series and it is great. Reminds me a lot of Dale Brown's Fortress series. No need to read the previous books since this one does not refer to the past much. Interesting story lines. Great characters. Good twists and planning. Source: Netgalley. 5*
DARK RISING - The fourth book of The Shepherds series and my first read. I was peeved that I selected this book when I first started reading it; I must have the previous books read. But I knuckled down and was soon lost in the characters and story lines. Yes, there was a lot of history before this book, but it didn't matter. This book held it's own. The story is Good verses Evil with good characters, interesting story lines with plenty of faith, family and love. The action is face paced and continuous. Source: Netgalley. 5*
TOM CLANCY DEFENSE PROTOCOL - Another enjoyable, entertaining, fast paced military novel. Several of the characters were outstanding in their roles and personalities, which increased my enjoyment. Good story lines, good saves, good characters, etc., making it difficult to put the book down for any reason. Source: Netgalley. 5*
TOM CLANCY ACT OF DEFIANCE - I read The Hunt For Red October by Tom Clancy when it first was released and later, enjoyed the movie. Serendipitously, I discovered TC AoD. I stopped reading Clancy's books a few years after Red October and was not aware of this series with TC AoD being 24th book. There is no difference between these two books in terms of writing style, story lines, characters, dialog, intrigue, suspense, etc. There is a link and parallels between the two books that makes for an immersing read. I will be starting with the first book of this series to see if the rest of the series holds a candle to TC AoD. Source: Netgalley. 5*
Ember - I selected this book because I was impressed with the authors' book Tom Clancy Act of Defiance. This time, I was not happy. I had a hard time getting into this story and it never grabbed and took me for a ride. This may just be me or maybe, as it appeared to me, a difference in the writing style. This is the eighth book in the Tier One series. Three stars is not a negative review, it means I found the book to be average. Source: Netgalley. 3*

This was one of those books that I was fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to get an ARC from the authors (Brian Andrews and Jeffrey Wilson), their publisher (Blackstone Publishing), and the fine folks at NetGalley.
This book, False Flag, is the fourth book in the Sons of Valor series and is a spin-off from the Tier One universe, which details some of the adventures of Tier One Gold Squadron (one of the groups of US SEALs) and is led by Lieutenant Commander Keith "Chunk" Redman. Navy SEAL Keith ''Chunk'' Redman has been one of the military's top doorkickers since the day he pinned on his trident: loyal, single-minded, lethal. Tasked to lead a new, covert team of Tier One SEALs -- the most elite special operators in the world -- Chunk can no longer simply rely on the status quo. Chunk and his team aren't just the tip of the spear; they're America's first, last, and best counterterrorism defense.
The main story that is detailed within this book is one of the political turmoil that exists in the Middle East to this day. The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has been brutally murdered, and Israeli Mossad agents are accused of the outrageous crime. However, as the title subtly hints, a deceptive false flag operation is at play, concealing an Iranian VIVEK initiative and a ruthless power grab orchestrated by the Crown Prince’s younger brother.
Chunk and the Gold Squadron swiftly deploy to the Middle East, racing against the clock to prevent a devastating attack on Israel. Simultaneously, Whitney “Heels” Watts and a team of determined federal agents infiltrate the Royal Palace in Saudi Arabia, embarking on a perilous mission to expose the truth to the world.
As a secondary story intertwined with the main story, Israeli intelligence had confirmed that an Egyptian cargo vessel (Earahat Albahr) had transited the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Ocean carrying Chinese-made CJ-10 cruise missiles. While that is bad news, the CJ-10 was capable of carrying a five-hundred-kilogram conventional warhead; worse news was that it could also carry a nuclear warhead in place of the conventional explosives. To add salt to the wound, with the range of the CJ-10 being fifteen hundred kilometers (nearly a thousand miles), these missiles could be fired from anywhere within the Mediterranean Ocean from a ship that was carrying both the missiles and the launchers as well as a contingent of Houthi terrorists (who had boarded the ship in Port Mukalla, Yemen).
This book is another winner by this incredible writing duo, and I am going to go back to read the previous books in the series. On my self-determined five-star scale, I would give this book a solid four stars as this novel takes the reader down a path involving Iran, Israel, and Saudi Arabia with a crazy, yet so very plausible storyline. As usual, it leaves a couple of loose ends that set up more to come in this world, and I, for one, cannot wait for the next book.
As with all of my literary ramblings, this is just my five cents' worth.

A political military action thriller. A crown prince is supposedly murdered by Israelis, and a nuclear warhead is on the move. It's definitely a fast-paced action story that follows 2 different threads. One story follows the investigation of the murder of the crown prince, while the 2nd story tracks down a nuclear warhead that's on the move, with no concrete evidence that it exists. I enjoyed the read, but it's not for everyone.
I received an ARC copy from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Chunk, Whitney, and the rest of the Tier One team are sent to the Middle East, Whitney and her hand picked team are sent to investigate the alleged murder of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, while Chunk and his Israeli augmented SF team are sent to stop an atomic bomb threat in the Mediterranean. Tensions run high as the new Crown Prince blames the Israelis for the death of his brother and calls upon the Muslim world for revenge.
It's a race to the finish, can the bomb be stopped or will Israel go up in smoke?

I was not amazed by the latest from Andrew's & Wilson...good story with the usual cast of characters(good/bad), but it felt more like a murder mystery to me. Took a while for the action to ramp up, but the bullets did fly. You can't go wrong by reading anything by these guys, you will be entertained, and probably stay up later than you planned. Overall a good story and with the way the story ended, I suspect book 5 is in the works. Thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the ARC and I recommend buying the book on July 22. If you're new to the Sons of Valor series, then I would start with book 1, and enjoy the ride.

False Flag is book four in the Sons of Valor series which is a spinoff from the Tier One series by the same writing duo. While this can be read as a standalone, it heavily references events from book three, War Shadows. Picking up shortly after the end of that book, the story features Keith “Chunk” Redman, the commander of an elite SEAL team, and Whitney Watts, the supports the team. Here, Whitney is assigned to a task force to investigate the murder of the Saudi Crown Prince while Chunk and team are sent to hunt for a ship of missiles, one possibly nuclear, headed toward Israel.
This is an exceptional story about courage, sacrifice, duty, deception, and betrayal. Ideologies clash, and hatred tries to triumph is the always volatile Middle East. Our heroes are dedicated and honorable men and women who are likable. The relationships are rich and deep with some fun banter that shows their connection and bond.
I loved this book, and I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment. Lovers of military action thrillers will not be disappointed.
Not family friendly due to profanity and violence that is typical of this genre.
Thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Andrews and Wilson have delivered yet another great chapter in the Sons of Valor story. False Flag, in my opinion, is a little different from the other books in the series it’s a bit more centered around family. There is still the action and intrigue that we all love so you won’t miss out on that, but I do think this book has a focus on fathers and kids and family dynamics.
This book immediately jumps into tensions in the Middle East and the machinations of people looking to seize power in a huge way. Chunk and the rest of the team is deployed to the Middle East ready to help ease the tension. Whitney is separated from the team because her presence is specially requested to join a task force of investigators. Whitney’s star is on the rise and she may be moving up in the world! We also get introduced to the new leadership at VEVAK (basically Iran’s Central Intelligence Agency). I am sure we will see some agents in future books!
This is another great book. I love this series and the Tier One series! I enjoy the books soo much and I am appreciative that the writers don’t keep us waiting too long for a new book between the two series. Thank you very much to NetGalley, the publisher, and the authors Andrews & Wilson for allowing me an advanced copy of this book to review.

Sons of Valor IV: False Flag escalates the suspense and intensity to heart pounding levels, challenging you to read as fast as humanly possible to urgently learn the ultimate endgame. It’s relentless anxiety-inducing intrigue and balls-to-the wall action from start to finish. Andrews and Wilson deliver another exceptional thriller that is impossible to put down.
The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has been killed, and Israeli Mossad agents are accused of the outrageous crime. The US sends an investigative team, including analyst extraordinaire Whitney “Heels” Watts, to determine who is really behind the murder and share the findings with the world before the Middle East explodes into violence. Meanwhile, Tier One Gold Squadron led by Keith “Chunk” Redman is deployed alongside a team of Israeli operatives to locate and eliminate all terrorist and military threats. It’s a race against the clock with nothing short of all-out war – and the existence of the Jewish state – at stake.
Given current events in the complicated Middle East, this book brings an unsettling level of realism and believability that strikes fear in the reader’s heart. It’s not hard to imagine the machinations of certain countries and factions, because we’re living through it real time. We can only hope that in real life there are badass operators like Chunk and his team out there keeping us safe and thwarting the nefarious forces of evil.
Additionally, the character development in this book is superb. Bringing more depth and layers to existing characters and their relationships while introducing others who add to the story. And like the real world, no one is safe as these men and women put their lives on the line to defend freedom around the world. Which keeps the reader on edge throughout, bringing a lump to their throat and a tear to their eye on more than one occasion.
This latest installment in the Sons of Valor series is phenomenal. Filled with action, danger, international intrigue and tons of flying lead, it’s a pulse-pounding reading experience.

Another great entry into this series. Each book gets better and this one was no different. Great plot, great action scenes, and more emotional connection than previous entries. Can’t wait for the next adventure of Chunk and Heels!

Man oh man…..
It is getting to the point where I think I might just pre-empt every review of a book by Andrews and Wilson with a 5 star rating. This author duo is THAT consistent. And for someone who tries very hard to be selective with my 5 star ratings....that is definitely saying something.
This is the 4th book in a phenomenal series existing in a very well defined world that is home to more than one series. In this particular series, the focus is on a specific group in the Spec Op community that happens to be called the Tier One. We have followed this group - led by Lieutenant Commander Keith “Chunk” Redman- from the very beginning of this iteration of the Team. We began with the tragic terrorist attack that killed every member of the prior Team, with the exception of Chunk. We have followed along as the Team was not only rebuilt, but honed and strengthened until it became the premier Team, the go-to secret of black op operations, and we have proudly watched as this new Team created a newfound family that we also fell in love with.
In this book, we get to see JSOC Counter terrorism analyst Whitney "Legs" Watts trying to deal with the aftermath of her kidnapping and torture. In true Tier One fashion, she is hesitant to tell anyone that she is having any issues and just thinks that things will eventually get better. Unfortunately, she gets thrown straight back into another deadly circumstance when events in Saudia Arabia devolve into a possible war in the Middle East and the group that she is with end up directly in the bulls-eye of the storm.
Whitney and the Team are separated for most of this book as the two have separate but equally important missions. Neither group gives us a minute to breathe as they are thrown into two extremely dangerous circumstances that each have devastating possible outcomes. This was another excellent story line that is scary with how easy it is to picture and as usual, this duo not only creates the realistically plausible circumstance, but then doubles down by ratcheting up the tension until I was holding my breath as the pages sped by.
It was 2 in the morning and when my husband woke up and saw that I was still reading, I actually said, "Wait, I have to see if the Americans make it off of the tarmac." I then immediately went back to reading because....well, duh, I needed to find out what was happening. Thankfully, he is used to odd comments from me at all times of the night and just went back to sleep :)
This is another winner in an already fantastic series. It takes us down a path involving Iran, Israel and Saudia Arabia with a crazy, yet so very plausible storyline. As usual, it leaves a couple of loose ends that sets up more to come in this world and I for one, cannot wait for the next book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone. This book will be out for publication on July 22, 2025.

A really fast moving and action-packed story about a unit of Special Forces that is at the tip of the spear. Saudi Arabia is the main setting for this novel and the mysterious nature of the place as well as the insular nature made this a good read. I enjoyed the backstabbing as a new Crown Prince emerges and does a 180 with the way forward. Chunk and his crew with Whitney Watts are brought in to verify the Saudi's claim that the former Crown Prince was assassinated. This is the basis of the story, and the pages turned quickly. I really enjoyed this book and feel like I have a good feel for the characters after reading many previous volumes. A must read for anyone who enjoys US military stories and the hunt for the bad guy.
