As I am already familiar with the YouTube series, I knew what I was getting into but I was still looking forward to seeing it translated to page. The format of trying to maintain its nature as two stories in one (story as players/dm and the in world story) was interesting. There was a little more narration then I thought would be included that sometimes threw me a little out of the in-game story, but in the end it came down more on the side of fun add-on then too distracting. They did have a little mini-adventure in the middle that let the reader take a side character on a trip, which was a neat idea that translated pretty well to page. I thought it was going to be a little clunky on ebook, but it still worked pretty well. I think fans of the YouTube channel like myself are probably going to like it, and newcomers to the story will enjoy it on its own merit. It's the kind of book I'd give to a patron who might be interested in knowing what playing a ttrpg is like, or people who already play those kinds of games.
