A very unique plot and before this I actually hadn’t heard of berserkers so it was really interesting to learn about them. It did regularly frustrate me but as does a plot like this, it’s kind of the point. It’s a very difficult situation that no one would want to be in.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this read. All opinions are my own.
Ultimately, I DNF this book. I wanted to like it, was hoping for a romantasy feel but that was lacking for me. Overall I didn't connect with the characters and the plot was not engaging. I would be happy to try another title from the author to find a better fit.

This book was an interesting I found myself intrigued with the story and the plot in spite of the fact that I found the chemistry off between the leads and the narration being a bit breathy for my taste. It’s overall an okay book but I don’t see myself revisiting the book or the series.

Elizabeth Darcy is a tourist in Scotland about to head home when she is forced into a soul switch and marriage to Callen Bruce, a billionaire who is also an immortal berserker. Soul switching is forbidden, so Elle must find a way to switch back before anyone notices.
Overall this was a fun read, but there were parts in the middle where the story and dialogue felt repetitive with little forward plot movement. I wish there was a bit more world building and not so much telling. Elle honestly asks and is told most of the history and what is going on. Mind you this is history she “should know” and no one thinks it is odd that she doesn’t know or understand it.
The romance between Elle and Callen felt off. Callen has a messy history with the person who soul switched with Elle. He has many, many reasons to hate her and yet still falls in love with Elle in a manner of days and limited interactions.
The third act and ending felt very rushed. Some things were resolved while others were left in limbo. I will say I’m curious as to how the series will unfold and if the limbo items will be addressed even as the next book moves onto another couple.

Elle is on vacation in Scotland when her soul is switched ,
Everyone thinks she is someone else and married to a Beserker.
Fun,intrigue romance.
Voluntarily reviewed.
Narrators were good like the accent.

I struggled with this audiobook and ended up speeding it up to 3x the speed. The story was moving too slow for me and knowing she was in the other woman's body drive me insane. Despite that the characters were decent and their motivation strong. I have struggled with Gena Showalter's paranormal romance before and her books are a bit hit of miss for me. This one did not resonate as strongly as some of her others.

I loved this book so much!
The audio was great and the story was so fun! It was a fresh take on a fantasy series. I’ve never read a berserker romance and I will absolutely be reading the rest of the series.
I LOVED the enemies to lovers with the fated mates aspect. The fact that she was soul swapped against her will into a situation that could have been so dangerous but she thrived all while trying to escape back to her real life kept me so enthralled.
The tension between them was so good and I loved the firebrand aspect.

Good story! I love Elle. She is plucky. She is on vacation in Scotland and just before she is to go home, a woman stops to talk to her and the next thing she knows, she is waking up the other woman's body. It turns out that she has been soul switched and now Elle is married to a berserker. She has to learn quickly how to navigate the world of a berserker and she can't tell him who she really is because then he would have to kill her. What will she do? How can she get out of this? The more time she spends with Callen and his people, the more she comes to love them. She would like to see her family in America, but she has to stay in Scotland until she can figure a way out of this predicament.

This book is a captivating read for those who delight in stories where unexpected relationships blossom amidst a backdrop of supernatural clashes. The narrative is interwoven with a slow-burning romance that simmers with tension, promising a fulfilling payoff for patient readers. The characters are richly developed, their emotional entanglements adding layers of complexity to the plot, ensuring an immersive and thought-provoking experience. The supernatural elements are seamlessly integrated into the story, creating a sense of wonder and suspense that will keep readers eagerly turning the pages. Overall, this book offers a unique blend of romance, suspense, and the supernatural, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced listening copy of The Wrong Bride! This was a great palette cleanser and easy listening book for background noise to keep me entertained while doing household chores and cleaning. Mhairi Morrison does a fantastic job narrating Elle, Callen, and the other characters we meet throughout the book. Her Scottish accent is stronger than her American accent, and her cadence in general matches up more closely to her Scottish accent rather than the American, which makes me think that she as learned an American accent for narration (which, if that’s the case, very well done).
Perfect for fans of shifter romance, The Wrong Bride encompasses several favorite tropes and themes:
Enemies to lovers
Fated mates
Slow burn tension
Alpha male energy
HEA
Overall, The Wrong Bride earned 3.5 stars (rounded to 4 for NetGalley and Goodreads) from me for a few reasons:
I just didn’t feel that we had enough depth and knowledge of the world and the background of the shifters, how they work, etc. It very much felt like the bones of the world weren’t super developed, which can be okay if that isn’t integral to the plot, but in this case it very much was.
The writing still feels a bit juvenile and undeveloped as a whole.
The character development was pretty flat - I would’ve loved to see just a little more depth to the villain’s arc and the building relationship between Elle and Callen.

What's a girl to do when your vacation turns into a body swapping escapade? Elizabeth finds herself in the body of a goddess, the loathsome Isobel, and married to a Berserker Wolf. Can she reverse this body swap before Isobel ruins her life back in America? Narrator was great! Can't wait to read/listen to the next book in the series.

Was fun think I would preferred this as an duology & wish it had spice felt like it was building up to but then didn’t ending felt rushed but was a lighthearted entertaining story

I usually enjoy Gena Showalter’s books, but this one just didn’t click for me—mainly because the narration wasn’t quite my style. I ended up DNF’ing the audiobook, even though the premise had potential.

I love a good shifter book and this one did not disappoint.
This was a lighthearted, quick paced amusing book which I needed as I’ve been reading some big series.
The narrator of the audio did and amazing job and kept me engaged throughout.

very fast paced and amusing, elle is such a silly (/positive) character although she sometimes fell on the relatable not like other girls fmc box too much. the ending was very convenient and with little consequences for any character, which always annoys me.
overall, it was an entertaining read, i had fun!!
Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ARC!!

This was such a fun 🎧 It was very entertaining. The narrator did a wonderful job keeping me engaged. She was so witty lol! The plot was very lighthearted as well, packed along with so much mystery. I did enjoy the characters, not that there were many to really connect to… But just El trying to navigate through this new life was so funny lol! C did get on my nerves at times, but I can’t blame the guy… I would have trust issues too lmfao. And then the twists on twists at the end?! I was shook!! 🙀 I did not see those coming, but I def need the second book ‘cause it just left off so unresolved, yet resolved lmfao. I need a follow up!! Overall, I was surprised by this!!

Wow! I loved this book. I'm a big fan of Gena Showalter anyway, but it's been a while. Now I'm looking up more of her books that I can read if hers. This is a great berserker romance, the first of a new series, check it out!
Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley for an honost review.
I have read Gena Showalter books in the past and i don't know why but i expected more 🌶.
However, i enjoyed the tension and build op in this novel. I enjoyed how our female lead tried to make the best of her situation.
I enjoyed the moraly graag caractars. Loved the broody lead and the back and forth between our lead caracters.
I have no idea whatsowever how accurate the descriptions about the schotish lore is or if it is compleatly made up. It doesnt matter to me for i enjoyed the love story either way.
The twist in the end was kinda insane. It could have ended without the drama for me but hell we always like to save a Lady in distress right😜

4/5 ⭐
This was an entertaining read! I had some laugh here and there and I even giggled at a few places (very hard for me to happen).
This is not the book of the books or the perfect romantasy but it is light read, well told and narrated incredibly good. I had great time listening to it.
The characters are not in deep developed but I liked them. Elle seems a bit flat but imagine yourself with a switched personality, finding yourself in an immortal world and treated to be killed if you try to talk about it 😃 I somehow liked her. And the banter between Elle and Callen was great!
I loved the Scottish accent of Callen - I might very well had listen to the book only for this 😍
I recommend for everyone who likes some fun in the story. Also, this will take you out of a reading slump if you are in one.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Wrong Bride is an addictive, tension-filled ride. With gripping twists, sizzling chemistry, and rich world-building, Elle and Callen’s love-hate dynamic kept me hooked. I couldn’t put it down—and now I need more.
