This was such a cute little holiday novella!! So far I have loved every book in this series so I went in with high expectations and was not let down. Sir Honks-A-Lot was such a solid character and brought so much joy into this story. I thought the narrators did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life.

A struggling sports agent, an aspiring model, an upcoming football player, and a goose all come together for some holiday fun in this funny/light-hearted, spicy rom-com that is a prequel to Amy Award’s The Cocky Kingman series. This novella made for a great audiobook thanks to the talents of Allie Shae and Kyle Mason as both Mac and Sarah Jane are likable characters. Hilarity and spice ensue when Sarah Jane attempts to save and adopt a goose while Mac is trying hard to get his sports agency career off the ground.
In this book:
*holiday romance
*plus size model
*one bed
*fake engagement
*Cinnamon Roll MMC

This is a review of the audiobook.
I am such a fan of Amy Award’s Cocky Kingmans series and this one was a great filler before the next book comes out! I’m also a sucker for fake dating with a splash of only one bed so I might be a little biased 😅
Amy’s ability to make me love the adorable animal sidekick more than the main characters is like no other. That being said, Sir Honksalot was definitely the star of this book and you can’t convince me otherwise.
I also really enjoyed Allie and Kyle as the narrators. Definitely some new favorites of mine and I will be looking for more of their audios to listen to soon!

This is such a fun story and just a great quality audiobook. This is fluffy, spicy, and absolutely hilarious.

Amy Award does it again! I'll admit, I read the text version before the audio came out but I loved it so much I wanted to try this version too. Sarah and Mac's story comes together beautifully in this novella. I loved the tiniest bit of queer representation included near the end. It was such a a pleasure getting to know the backstory of characters from the Cocky Kingman's series.
I loved it and would totally read it again. I love Amy's author's notes before her books. I just want fluff to escape reality and Amy writes it best!

You know, I’m never want to turn down a holiday novella. I do think I could have skipped this one though.
Like I said to my friend, who I was having brunch with the other day, they met cutely at a festival event and then suddenly they had a pet goose. I do think their meetcute was just that cute, but the events that followed really took me out of the story. Having an animal will become your whole social media presence is something that happens in real life, but I am not someone who enjoys those accounts. I did not get major holiday vibes throughout the book and that disappointed me.
I was very entertained throughout the whole thing and was able to listen to this in one sitting. The narrators did a great job, making the story, fun and energetic, even though I was not very connected to the plot line in the characters themselves. It was a very entertaining lesson and I do recommended if you’d like a short audiobook to listen to.
Thank you, dreamscape media for the ALC!

Lots of laughs and list and I couldn’t put this book down ! I absolutely Loved it and it was very entertaining. Would definitely recommend this

Not Sir Honksalot being a little match maker❤️
I didn’t plan to pretend to be in love with the gorgeous plus-size model who rescued a goose from the chopping block at Oktoberfest. But when Sir Honksalot destroys her apartment and my parents sell their shop right before Christmas, a fake engagement seems like the perfect solution to our mutual housing woes. Now we’re house-sitting a mansion together, but confined to one room…with only one bed. We have to convince everyone we’re the most boring couple in L.A., while dealing with a delinquent waterfowl with a sock-stealing habit and feelings that don’t feel fake at all. This curvy girl romance features a bad-tempered rescue goose with his own social media following, a sports agent who’s secretly a romantic at heart, and a baddie plus-size model who knows her worth—all set in a prequel to everyone’s favorite football family, the Kingmans.
Thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for this ALC!
Honkers Under the Holly
Bu: Amy Award
The Cocky Kingmans #4.5
Narrated by: Allie Shae, Kyle Mason
Publisher: Dreamscape Media

I think I have read almost every Amy Award book there is and I absolutely love every time I get to read her work. This was such a cute little fun read and I loved getting the backstory of these two characters we see so often in the Kingman series. I definitely will be reading the rest of her books and feels so good reading such a positive sexy representation of plus size main characters.

Honker Under the Holly is another gem from Amy Award! This whole series is an absolute delight, and this book continues the trend of light, fluffy romcoms that leave you grinning from start to finish. With its charming characters, hilarious moments, and just the right amount of goosing around, it’s the perfect feel-good read. I’ll always recommend anything Amy Award writes!

This was beyond adorable. Mac and Sara fell fast, but I loved every second of it. The sweetest and cutest Christmas novella that got me in the Christmas spirit again in February. The audio was great, and Allie and Kyle were perfect!

3.25⭐, 3🌶️
A cute and quirky Christmas romance. It took me a minute to fugure out how this story interconnected with the rest of the Kingman series, so it lost a bit of its impactfulness there. I also just didnt swoon over this romance - because its a novella the pacing is fast, but the romance just felt rushed to me, the fake dating between the MC's and then another character was odd and I just wasn't a fan of that choice. The end of the stories drama wasn't wow-ing for me.
Overall, I may have enjoyed this more if I read around the holiday's - the choice to publish the audiobook in February was interesting.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

I have enjoyed the rest of the Cocky Kingman Series, but this one was not for me. The insta love and fake finance bit was too much for me and happened way too quickly. I get it's a novella, but it felt way too rushed and not explained enough.

Adorably funny book with great narrators. This is a great addition to the series. The characters were funny and you get hooked into their story quickly. The goose was my favorite. The final epilogue twist was a great part of the book.

I did not love this book and was glad it was pretty short. The characters were quirky and likable but I am not a fan of insta love and while I like a good fake finance, the double fake finance was too much for me. I just found it hard to believe that people would run crazy with a picture from a photo shoot and that the FMC and MMC were so willing to go along with it. It definitely lost points for me with the MMC. It took me a while to get on board with the male narrator only because I didn’t feel like his voice matched what I imagined for the MMC.

Super cute novella! I love the Kingman brothers series and this was a cute look into Mac the sports agent.

Honkers under the Holly is a prequel novella to the Cocky Kingman Series by Amy Award. As a fan of the Cocky Kingman Series, I was excited for this audiobook, and to step back into the world of the Kingman's to get a taste of Coach Kingman's love story as well as Cousin Levi and Olive who are mentioned in the Kingman series. This story is light and fluffy like the other stories and features another corky animal that you can't help but love. The pacing of this novella is moderate and does not drag, and the overall length of the book was appropriate for a novella making it an easy listen that could be finished in one day.
The Plot of the story includes popular Rom-Com tropes including insta-love, sports-romance, fake engagement, and one bed. Leading to some very fun moments that will make you laugh out loud while listening. The character development is strong and features, a cinnamon roll MMC, plus size and body positive representative FMC, and a lovable goose that has a way of bringing people together.
The audiobook version of this story features duet narration with voice actors that have a very appealing and soothing tone of voice, that appear to have fluid chemistry in their narration. It was a pleasant listen, that can be revisited anytime you're in need of a cozy Christmas listen.

I absolutely love everything from Amy Award, her entire universe is just right down my alley.
This was obviously no exception and I have been waiting for the audiobook version.
I adore the story of Mac and Sara Jayne, how they got their careers started and their cute relationship.
Sir Honkalot has become my favourite Cocky Kingman pet, I would love to have a music-loving goose🪿
I also thoroughly enjoyed finally getting to know April more, she is such a great character 🤞🏼 we will get to know more about her soon.
I listen at 1.5x speed to get a more conversational speed, and the narrators have such great voices, and they really compliment each other. As a decent German speaker, I loved the German elements.
The plot feels a tiny bit rushed, but knowing the publishing reason and everything that is explained in the beginning, it really was not something, that took anything away from the story.
Now I just look forward to getting the next part of the Cocky Kingman universe.

I absolutely adore all of the Cocky Kingman books. This one, since it’s a prequel, kinda hits close to the heart in some parts. If you haven’t read the other books, you wouldn’t realize. But this is a great set up if you’re just dipping your toe into the series.
The story, as always is adorable, sweet, and empowering.
The goose was a little annoying but it wasn’t about the goose for me, it was about the couple, and I loved them so much.
Happy to see my Kingmans make their appearance.
Overall a fun read.
Thank you NetGalley for this audio ARC.

Honkers under the Holly by Amy Award is about Mac, a struggling sports agent and Sarah Jane, a plus-size model.
Sadly this book wasn’t for me, I didn’t like the miscommunication (not between MCs) that happened. I listened to the audiobook, the female narrator did a good job. I had to get used to it though because the male narrator read in a different pace.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Amy Award for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.
