Super cute novella, in a prequel to the grown up Kingman's. This was cute, funny and an enjoyable read. The ending cracked me up!

It’s not every day you save a goose from the chopping girl and end up with a fake fiancé. Mr Honksalot wrecks Sara Jayne’s apartment so when the opportunity arises to house sit for her boss she makes up an elaborate story. Now all they have to do is convince everyone that they’re a couple.
I love everything about this. Amy Award is the queen of spicy yet fluffy romcoms with plus size fmcs. And there’s always a quirky animal and I must say the goose aka Mr Honksalot is my favorite thus far. The chapter from his pov was a fun surprise.
Both mcs are having a rough time getting their careers to take off. I’m so glad Sara Jayne stuck to her guns and made the most an opportunity when it presented itself. Love her.
This is a prequel to the Kingman books that features some of the characters we’ve all come to love. This one’s a must read!

❄️Holiday novella
💍Fake engagement

Four and a half stars for this absolutely delightful holiday rom-com! Amy Award serves up a festive, flirty, and fluffy masterpiece filled with laughter, love, and a mischievous goose named Sir Honksalot. The story is equal parts chaotic and heartwarming as a sports agent and a fierce plus-size model fake an engagement to solve their mutual housing problems. Of course, sharing a mansion (and a bed!) during the holidays leads to plenty of sexual tension and unexpected feelings.
Narrators Allie Shae and Kyle Mason bring so much charm and personality to the characters, perfectly capturing the humor and swoony romance. I was giggling, blushing, and grinning the entire time! The antics of Sir Honksalot—stealing socks and causing merry mayhem—added an extra layer of hilarity.
This quick, spicy read is perfect for anyone craving some holiday cheer with a side of smut and an extra dose of adorable fluff. Highly recommend for fans of fake dating, one-bed tropes, and chaotic holiday shenanigans!

If you like the other Kingsman books, you’ll likely enjoy this holiday novella.
I’ve read the other books and while I didn’t like this as well as the others, it wasn’t a bad read, just a bit silly at times.

it was a cute quick read. wasnt as steamy or funny as the rest of awards things but it was still enjoyable.

Much like the other instalments in this series of interconnected standalone romance books, this is a lighthearted piece of fluff (as stated in the author's note at the start of the book!) featuring characters you want to root for getting into borderline implausible situations and ending up with a happy ever after at the end. This Christmas novella focues on Mitch and Sarah-Jane, a sports agent and model who are both struggling to get their careers off the ground, and the obvious star of the story Sir Honksalot - a goose. The dual POV narration was really good with both male and female narrators managing to pull off the opposite voices without it sounding cartoonish or mocking.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

this was hard for me to follow, it took me a hot minute to realize it wasn't any of the kingmans family relation and honestly, i just didn't love this... i just felt kind of lost and in free fall with this one. the characters were cute though and i enjoyed their banter, plus the goose was funny.
but i feel like the synopsis was missing a little more to it, i didn't realize until mostly being finished that this book was a prequel.... but either way, cute and fluffy, can't complain about that

This is a lighthearted and funny short audiobook.
The title is fun and the entire book is full of goose puns. Sir Honks-a-lot is adorable.
We get dual narration, which is always nice when listening to an audiobook. I liked the female narrators voice the most.
The pace is fast and it's an easy listen. Cute.

Thank you NetGalley for the ALC of this audiobook in exchange for a review!
I’m sorry, I just couldn’t get past the moment where the fmc leaves a goose in her home and is surprised to come back with it all fucked up because it knew how to *checks notes* pick a lock with a hairpin he found. And then when she needs to get ready for a date he just strolls up and picks a sundress for her?
I enjoyed some of the other books in this series, and suspension of belief is one thing lmao, but I just had a hard time with this story without laughing but not really in the wow what a rom com kind of way 😅
The meet cute was just so random and odd and this girl changing her life over a random wild goose was too much for me 😬

Sarah and Mac meet purely by accident, in a tent at Oktoberfest. She's serving beer, he's there to meet with one of his clients. What brings them together is a goose who first needs catching and then needs a home. Both main characters are wonderful and their love story, including two fake engagements, is wonderful. I especially liked the resolution to the uncovering of the fake engagement. The star of the story though is Sir Honksalot, the sock-stealing matchmaking gander.
I have read the other books in the Kingman series by Amy Award and really liked that this novella gave me a glimpse at the younger versions of the Kingman family.
The narrators did a very good job especially pronouncing the German words during the more spicier scenes. Kyle Mason manages to make German dirty talk sound sexy.

“Honkers Under The Holly” by Amy Award is a novella, part of “ The Cocky Kingmans” series.
Thank you Dreamscape Media for the ALC.
The opinions from this review are completely my own.
Mac is a sports agent and Sara Jayne a plus size model. They meet at Oktoberfest and they have chemistry from the start. Add a funny rescue goose and you have a cute holiday novella.
Even if the romance develops fast, the characters are so sweet and funny that I enjoyed the story a lot. There are many funny moments, especially with Mr. Honksalot (the goose), but also emotional and some spicy ones.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Allie Shae and Kyle Mason. This is the first time listening to a book narrated by them but they did a good job with the characters. The german did sound a bit funny, but it did not bother me much.
Overall this was an entertaining listen.

This was a fun little novella! If you like the earlier books in the series, you’ll enjoy this one as well. Obviously, being a novella it is shorter, so I did miss some of that relationship development you get in the full length novels.
I listened to the audiobook provided to me by Netgalley. I felt like, at times, the MMC sounded weaker and more timid than I would expect a former star QB to sound, but overall I enjoyed the narration.

I received an advanced listening copy of the audiobook. This is my own opinion.
My first reaction to the final scene is STAHP THE GOOSE FELL IN LOVE TOO 🥺😍
Gosh this was the perfect blend of cute, fluffy, silly, and spicy. This novella feels like a perfect example of “yes and—“ in writing because EVERYTHING happens. It’s so much and it was so nice to listen to something without angst or drama right now. I really enjoyed it and I love that the author saw the need for toothrotting fluff and delivered.
Because it’s so short, I’ll keep my synopsis brief to avoid spoilers, but there’s a goose and some mischief and a model and a sports agent. What a setup. 😂🪿
Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

Perfect little novella when you want to escape the real world. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to read more of the series. The narrators were also very good.
I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher.

It was sun to get swept up in this short holiday book from Award, bringing in a little Kingman universe. I’ve read all the Kingman books, which is not needed to enjoy this sweet but spicy romance. It has some of my favorite representation of plus size and body positivity. Overall the book was great and fun.
As far as the narration goes, the duel POV and duel narration worked well. Both narrators did a good job, especially with the fowl content of Sir Honks a-lot.

4.5 "FLUFFY" stars!
I just had the BEST afternoon listening to this entire holiday novella, which is perfect for any time of year!
Sarah Jane and Mac bond during a wild goose chase, literally! Their fast friendship develops into natural chemistry. Mac is a yummy delicious cinnamon roll hero, willing to lend a hand and play along in whatever schemes Sarah Jane cooks up, and she cooks up a BIG ONE! The two of them pretend to be engaged so they can house sit, and you'll never believe this, but there's only one bed!
I ADORED this story. Amy Award prefaces this book with the disclaimer that it's meant to be fluff, and it was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered! Sweet and spicy love scenes? Check! Fun and engaging plot twists that weren't too angsty? Done! Creative tie-ins with the Cocky Kingmans Universe? You bet! I also adored the body positivity and curve appreciation that were woven throughout the story. The way he loved her body!!! Chef's kiss!
The narrators did a great job on this book. So glad I got to listen. I can't wait to read more in this series! 🏈
Trigger warnings: couple unable to conceive (off page), concerns regarding safety and acceptance after coming out, unrealistic body expectations by society on women (touched on briefly)
I'd like to thank Dreamscape Media for the audio ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this audiobook book.
I have seen books in the series but have not had the pleasure of reading them yet. I was excited to receive this book and it did not disappoint.
I knew from the opening that this book would be funny. The author pulled me in right away with a good laugh.
The story was quick but was not lacking. Many novellas don't feel full but this one did!
The narrators were fantastic. I really enjoyed listening to them.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with an ALC of this novella.
I adore this series and always love a cute little Christmas novella! As always Amy provides us with a plus-size sassy FMC and a man that absolutely worships her just the way she is. And obviously a quirky pet - in this case - Honkers the goose.
Since this is a novella, there wasn’t much time to truly develop depth in a relationship, so it was very insta-live with the main couple. I would’ve liked to see more development before they fell in love, etc.

The fluff lives up to the hype. It was hot and spicy and everything nice. An enjoyable fake fiancé trope and continuation to the series.
