Muted: Volume 1 is perfect for fans of sapphic witches (and plants!). Early on, it is apparent that our main character, Camille, hasn't had the easiest life. There is a lot of heaviness in her life due to a variety of things out of her control. Through it all there are bright spots we see. I absolutely adore Camille's familiar (just the cutest little woodpecker) that is by her side through sorting out the mysteries in her life. The art is absolutely stunning. I love the character designs (no "same face" syndrome here!) and I appreciate the diversity. I loved getting to know the magic system and see the world building which I suspect will continue through the series. Camille and most of the supporting cast are loveable, I found the pacing to be great (which can be harder with graphic novels), and the ending left me looking forward to reading the next volume. I get a strong sense of found-family and look forward to hopefully seeing more of that in the future.
Volume 1 appears to be just the start of Camille's story, and I cannot wait to see where things go. I see this Graphic Novel series quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
Thank you NetGalley and Ten Speed Press for providing me with a review copy. This review has been left voluntarily and contains only my honest opinions.

I thought this was a fun little entertaining comic. As an adult, I don’t think I’m the target audience exactly. I thought it was cute, but sometimes failed to hold me attention all the time.
3.5⭐️

I received this DRC from NetGalley.
Very cute artwork. The story kept me interested. I would have liked to know more about the magic system and the different types of magic, but I assume that will come in later volumes. I do find it a bit unbelievable that nobody would have guessed her secret based on how she looks, but I'll give it a pass on that one for now. It's kinda funny that men are just irrelevant in this world. But also, one of the girls really wants a husband, so I don't know how that will work out. Overall, a fun read, and I'll be picking up the next one when it's available.

Muted Volume 1 is an enchanting and atmospheric start to a witchy coming-of-age series filled with magic, family secrets, and an intriguing mystery. Originally a hit Webtoon, this first volume sets up the world, characters, and overarching plot in a way that immediately pulls you in.
I really loved this graphic novel. The Louisiana swamp setting, combined with the dark family traditions and Camille’s struggles with her magic, made for an immersive read. The story balances mystery, romance, and self-discovery in a way that keeps you engaged, and I’m especially excited to see how the relationships and friendships unfold in future volumes. I can feel this becoming a really sweet romance and have seen in the blurb that this will be a polyamorous sapphic romance which has me very intrigued,
The artwork and coloring were stunning, enhancing the atmosphere and emotions throughout the book. With a strong setup in this first volume, I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the series and diving deeper into the characters’ journeys.
Thank you to NetGalley and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love, love the art in this graphic novel. The vibes are very dark and mysterious, which really adds to the story. I originally read this title on Webtoons and I am so excited for it to become a printed book. The storyline is very gripping and easy to get pulled into. Love all of the witchy vibes, it is a great read for the fall.

This is a beautifully illustrated, atmospheric story filled with magic, mystery, and self-discovery. Set in a richly detailed New Orleans, the story follows Camille as she navigates family secrets, witchcraft, and her own identity. The artwork is absolutely stunning, bringing every spell and moment to life.

if you like witches, beautiful art and a sapphic polyamorous romance, then i highly recommend this series. i originally read it on webtoon but there’s still some parts of the story that will be new to me moving forward, as it wasn’t a series i had fully completed beforehand. Camille is a witch who’s struggling with her magic and feels ostracized by her family, there’s some secrets to her lineage and the types of magic she possesses. i love all the little pet familiars and the way things take a slightly darker turn every now and then. so happy this is getting republished with physical volumes!

“Muted” by Miranda Mundt is a captivating graphic novel that combines stunning illustrations with a beautifully woven narrative. The magical system is intricately designed and seamlessly integrated into the story, making it both fascinating and immersive. The artwork is vibrant and magical, adding depth to the narrative. The story explores themes of self-discovery, family, and identity, set against a rich backdrop of witchcraft and mysticism. While the pacing is engaging, some elements feel slightly underdeveloped, leaving room for further exploration in future volumes. Overall, “Muted” is a compelling read for fans of magical realism and sapphic romance.

I absolutely loved this story! Muted is the story of a young witch learning all about her powers and certain family secrets. Along the way she makes new friends, reconnects with old ones and begins to learn who she is when she lets go of harsh expectations.
I am obsessed with this story. I absolutely love Camille and her story line. Camille's story is so tragic in the beginning but she's a firecracker determined to become more then what's she's been trained to be.I'm really enjoy the supporting characters as well. I can't wait to see how some of these relationships play out.
I think this book was a wonderful introduction to the amazing story that is sure to come and I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of it.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Always love seeing Webcomics make their way into print format!
This was my first time coming across Muted and I am already in love with the art style! The story itself too has a really cool premise and I can already tell Camille is on her way through an incredible character arc. The touch of romance is cute and the mysteries brought up make me want to read more!
I do wish there had been just a little more time developing some of the world building --- is all romance between witches forbidden or just any romance resulting in a child? It was briefly mentioned that Camille thought only women could do magic; is that a fact or something she was made to believe by her family? Little things like that that kept building some confusion for me throughout.
All said, very much enjoyed this and looking forward to Vol 2!
(I'd also like to note this copy had some typos and speech balloon errors which I am assuming have been fixed for the final copy)

Thank you NetGalley and Ten Speed Graphic for the ARC!
I absolutely love the artwork and the attention to details. The plot itself is great, just wish it were less info dump, since there's a lot of things going on. I also love the attention and respect towards the main characters feeling of loss and grief, and how she feels through her struggles of trying to understand her life and who she really is. Just a few grammatical errors here and there that need some editing, but for the most part was well written.

I missed reading this series! I remember waiting for the episodes to come out on webtoon.
A great story about self discovery in all aspects. Family, sexuality, and personality.
A witch who has no memory of who she is from the age of 8 rediscovering herself at the age of 21. Beautiful artwork and I'm already craving more!

Review:
I had read this as a Webtoon a while ago and I almost forgot how much I loved the story. Camille is amazing and though this is just the start of her journey, it's amazing. It keeps you engaged and wanting to learn more alongside her. I loved so many characters and their connections to Camille, even those just forming like Nyra and Tobin, Camille's woodpecker familiar, the plant demon, Dendro, which Camille summoned, and even her father's family. I loved the art so much, it's really vivid. I do think there are many more secrets to learn. Athalie was a character I almost instantly hated. She is rigid and unkind and not just towards Camille but her own daughter, Avaline. I am glad that she had her after losing her family, even if she had to stay with Athalie. Overall I enjoyed this beginning to Camille's journey and can't wait for more.

I was so excited that I got an ARC for this graphic novel as it was already on my wishlist! I love a magical story and this one is just so fun and intriguing. Had some funny moments and a couple little twists! I am so excited to see what happens in future installments :)
Thank you NetGalley for the arc! 💗

I devoured this book in one sitting! It was amazing and I loved it!
This one started with two cousins: Camille and Avaline. Camille's mother and sibling died in a fire that no one has ever figured out what caused. When both cousins reach the age for the ritual coming-of-age summoning, Avaline knocks it out of the ballpark, but Camille, not so much. She was unsure, and hers did not work out how it was supposed to.
However, Avaline returns to New Orleans with her mother, and Camille stays behind to work on her summoning and healing. It was nice to be introduced to the different witch families and learn about their strengths and the different magics associated with them.
The illustrations are on point and the storyline is engaging overall it was a really great experience! I loved it and I recommend it! However, there is one downfall: Volume 2 will not be out until October!!! 😭
Thank you Netgalley and Webcomic for the opportunity to read this one! It is addicting!

Fun concept! It could use a thorough edit - I found a handful of typos and stumbled through a few trudge-y sentences, but the story is well-told.
The illustration is top tier with a masterful use of color and movement.
Characters are well-rounded with good setup to delve further into their motivations. I hope this happens in the next installments.
I’m looking forward to the next one, but not champing at the bit. I’m sure this will change as the plot unfolds (one way or the other lol)
Solid. Huge potential. Not quite ready for pub

The artwork in this is STUNNING. So vibrant and colorful. The story? It was alright. I think that this first volume just had too much going on - it was too big and didn't allow for much development and substance. There are various kinds of representation in the book that I appreciated and that added an enjoyable element to the story.

I absolutely adored the witchy vibes and vibrant colors in this graphic novel! It was an enchanting blend of charm and creativity that made the whole experience so much fun. The artwork was captivating, and the story had a playful yet intriguing tone that kept me hooked from start to finish. It’s a delightful read that truly stands out with its whimsical style!

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out in July. I loved this comic so much! It's a witchy queer found family, with heavier themes in it. It's the first novel in the series and it is setting up next installments fantastically.
