"I would love you forever, Kacey, if I only had the chance."

Kacey and Jonah’s story is heartbreakingly beautiful. It was an emotional rollercoaster that had me hooked from the very first page. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and the way their relationship develops feels incredibly genuine. The emotional depth of the story had me tearing up more than once. It’s a perfect blend of love, loss, and personal growth. I laughed, I swooned—and yes, I cried. A lot. It broke my heart and somehow managed to piece it back together again. This is the kind of book that lingers long after you’ve turned the last page.

Thank you, NetGalley and Bloom Books, for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

And special thanks to Emma Scott for absolutely shredding my heart into a million pieces! 🫶🏼

Full Tilt by Emma Scott is the first book in a two-part duet.

"I would love you forever if I only had the chance..."

Jonah Fletcher spends his days as a glass artist and his nights as a limo driver in Las Vegas. With a strict timeline to complete his glass installation and cement his legacy, he stays focused—until Kacey Dawson crashes into his world.

Kacey has always lived her life on the edge—impulsive, reckless, torn between the dream of becoming a serious musician and the temptations of an alcohol-soaked path. A disaster show leaves Kasey passing out in Jonah's limo. The only thing he wanted was for the night to end. But with no other option, he took her in, unaware that this seemingly insignificant act would alter the course of his remaining months.

Love doesn’t magically erase life's struggles, but being truly seen and cared for transforms everything. The words on every page in this novel capture the fleeting yet unforgettable bond between Jonah and Kacey.

Emma Scott is a newly discovered author for me, and my first experience with her work left a lasting impression.

This book was an absolute delight to read! It had everything I look for — engaging writing, memorable characters, and a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. The author’s voice is distinct and compelling, making it easy to get lost in the world they created, no matter the genre.

I'm incredibly grateful to the publisher for the early copy. It was such a joy to read this in advance, and I can’t wait for more readers to experience it. Highly recommend!

Full Tilt was the kind of novel that didn’t just tug at my heartstrings—it played a full-blown symphony on them. This story was raw, radiant, and completely unforgettable. I knew going in that it would wreck me, and it absolutely did... in the best possible way.
Kacey and Jonah were opposites on the surface—she, the wild, self-destructive rockstar spiraling under the weight of fame, and he, the quiet artist who had already accepted that his time was running out. But together? They were incandescent. The way their relationship unfolded—gently, unexpectedly, with so much respect and aching tenderness—was a masterclass in slow-burn emotional intimacy.
The author's prose was lyrical without being flowery, and her ability to explore addiction, purpose, mortality, and love with such unflinching honesty took my breath away. Jonah wasn’t just a love interest; he was a living, breathing soul who made every second of the story feel real. And Kacey’s transformation—from lost and numb to vibrant and self-aware—was one of the most satisfying character arcs I’ve read in a long time.
I cried. I smiled through tears. I finished the final page with a heart that felt both shattered and full. Full Tilt wasn’t just a love story—it was a reminder that the most beautiful things in life are often the most fleeting. Five stars, and then some.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Emotional damage!!

This book was kind of slow for me to get into, but I'm glad I stuck it out. This follows two broken people, one broken from her family life and one broken from a life debilitating disease. This is fast paced and honestly sad af, but I loved every minute of it.

Kacey was kicked out at 18 and left to live on her own. She is now in a band and an amazing musician; however, she struggles with drugs and alcohol. She tries to not indulge, but she can't help but try reaching out to her family. Which every time she does, she ends up spiraling.

One day before a show, she calls her mother and this leads her to blacking out. She ends up at their limo drivers house?? Which she's down so bad she like doesn't care?? Actually breaks me.

Jonah has a heart disease and even though he had a transplant, his body is rejecting. Left with only months to live, he pours his heart into glass making and working other jobs. He is just trying to ignore the end. One of his side hustles is a limo driver and one night he is driving for a few band members. When he's brought a drunk girl to take home, he tries, but fails, taking her back to his place.

This is how they meet.. I can't y'all!!

Jonah doesn't want to get close to anyone. He doesn't want to love. He doesn't want to open up.
Kacey wants to be close to people. She wants love. She wants to have someone.
And when they meet, the two quickly become inseparable.

Because of Jonah's illness, he has to be extra cautious around "bad things" and this helps Kacey stay and want to be sober.

Throughout their time being friends, the pair quickly grow on each other and fall in love. Jonah tried to fight it because he knew he was on borrowed time, but Kacey didn't care.

Their story was everything and I cannot wait to get into book 2.

Thank you Bloom Books and Netgalley for an eARC.
Immersive read: audio & ebook
Highly recommend!

Emma Scott's Full Tilt is an emotional rollercoaster that masterfully blends themes of love, loss, and living life to its fullest. The story follows Kacey Dawson, a struggling musician, and Jonah Fletcher, a disciplined artist with limited time due to a heart condition. Their connection is as profound as it is bittersweet, with each helping the other find meaning and purpose despite the ticking clock. Scott's writing is poetic and evocative, drawing readers into the raw and vulnerable world of her characters. The emotional depth of this story resonates long after the final page, making it a must-read for fans of deeply moving romance. Be warned: this book will tug at your heartstrings and may leave you reaching for tissues.

I loved everything about this 5 star story. An heartfelt journey.

Kacey is struggling has a member of a rock group. As they become more popular, she sinks deeper into an hole of alcool and meaningless sex. Jonah is the limo driver who saves her in more ways than one. They go through very difficult times. She will need to stand on her own.

This was a story that made me shed quite a few tears of anguish. It’s an heartfelt story that had me hooked from the first page read to the last one. It was an highly addicting and entertaining story.

This is part one of a duet. All In needs to be read too in order to get the full experience of this amazing journey called life. Bottomline this is a must read.

Part one of a duet told in a dual POV. I strongly recommend this story.

Full Tilt by Emma Scott tore through me in the best and worst ways—it’s raw, beautiful, and emotionally gutting. The love between Kacey and Jonah felt so real that I carried their story with me long after the last page.

I was able to get an eARC of Full Tilt by Emma Scott from NetGalley. I noticed that this book was originally released in 2016, but was being rereleased later this year.

Oh man. This book was brilliantly written and had me up in all my feels and ugly crying like no other. This book involves Jonah and Kacey.

Kacey was abandoned by her parents at 17 and is trying to find her way while being a part of an up and coming rock band. Jonah is an incredibly talented artist with one goal in mind. His time left in this world is numbered as his body is attacking his donor heart.

Kacey and Jonah’s paths cross and they become inseparable. This story chronicles their journey together in the few months that Jonah has left earth side.

This book was so moving. It was hard to read and I cried so many tears for these two amazingly brave characters. Emma did such an amazing job telling their story. I felt as if I was right there with them in the thick of it.

Fortunately, the second book is available on Kindle Unlimited so I am going to go right in and read that next. I sure hope that Kacey can find happiness once again.

This book isn’t 5 stars, it’s actually a million TEARS. I am an absolute mess after reading this. I couldn't even read the last few chapters properly because my eyes were filled with tears 😭 I should have known this book would wreck me the second I saw Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol on the playlist. Nothing good ever happens when that song is involved (ikyk). Going into this book, you know how its going to end, but it doesn't make it any less painful. This was a beautiful story about love, loss and living life.

“i would love you forever, if only i had the chance”

Kacey meets Jonah Fletcher when he is running out of time. They fall in love, bring out the best in each other and try to live life to the fullest before they're out of time. It's a beautiful heart wrenching love story.

This is one of those books where you finish and stare blankly at a wall trying to process everything. Will I ever stop sobbing? Probably not.

As a Las Vegas lover, I really enjoyed the Vegas setting and mentions of the culture and scenery.

Unfortunately that is where my praises for the book end. Ultimately I did not enjoy this one although it seemed so promising to be an emotional 5 star read.
The chemistry between the two main characters did not exist. Their insta love relationship felt so forced and not organic to me. Most of the romance was actually very cringey and awkward in my opinion.

I kept thinking to myself self- when do I get to the good part, when does it become addicting?
Overall I wanted to love this and no part of me had a good time.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Emma Scott’s Full Tilt is an emotionally gripping story that lingers long after the final page. It follows Kacey Dawson, a talented but reckless guitarist on the verge of fame, and Jonah Fletcher, an artist with a limited time to live. Their unexpected connection changes both their lives in ways neither could have imagined.

Kacey, battling her own demons and struggling with the pressures of rock stardom, finds herself in a downward spiral—until she wakes up on Jonah’s couch with no recollection of the night before. Jonah, who has already accepted the fragility of his future, offers her a temporary refuge, hoping to help her find clarity. What neither of them anticipates is how deeply they will impact each other. Their relationship, though fleeting, is profound, life-altering, and breathtakingly raw.

This book is more than just a romance—it’s a testament to the power of love, healing, and the beauty of fleeting moments. Scott’s lyrical prose captures every emotion with heart-wrenching sincerity, making it impossible not to feel every high and low alongside the characters. Jonah’s unwavering kindness and selflessness make him an unforgettable love interest, while Kacey’s journey of self-discovery is deeply moving. Their love story is intense, bittersweet, and utterly unforgettable.

Full Tilt is not an easy read—it’s heartbreaking in the best way, and it will leave you emotionally drained yet profoundly touched. It explores the idea that love doesn’t fix everything, but it can change you in ways you never expected. If you’re ready for a story that will break you and leave you in tears, this book is a must-read. Emma Scott delivers a novel that is not just about love, but about the impact of being truly seen and cherished.

I read this book already when it first came out years ago so I will not be reading again. I did love it at that time however. Emma Scott writes wonderful stories. Every single one is an emotional ride!

Full Tilt is a slow burn, friends to lovers romance. I loved this book and Jonah and Kasey’s story and could feel their love and friendship throughout the whole book. This was an easy read and I found myself excited to pick up and continue reading; even at the end when I cried like a baby! Emma Scott is a new author to me and one I will now look out for and add to my list of must reads.
