I read the Learn My Lesson Deluxe Edition. I was not disappointed! Katee Robert always brings a certain level or erotica or smut and spiciness that some other author strive to get but just miss the mark. This one in particular is the retelling of Meg, Hercules and Hades and the second in the Wicked Villains series. It can be read as a stand alone, but with all the characters weaving in and out of the books so beautifully, why would you want to miss out on any tiny little magnificent detail? You don't. So read them all.

Hades is Megs Dom. Even after struggling with the sense that he is moving on from her or not prioritizing her, she does his bidding as demanded and meets Hercules. The three together are instant fire and make a reader want more and more.

With the Deluxe Edition I had the capability to read the authors notes and ideas. Robert shares her thoughts and ideas as she moves through the pages. It was interesting to read why she did what and why her characters went in certain directions.

This was such a unique read, because hello BDSM Greek gods retelling?!

Personally not super into that theme as a reader but the plot was enjoyable and a little different!

Loved the character development of all our main characters as each of them all have a crucial part to play in the plot as well having such deep backstories and growth. Throuple trouble!!!

Very spicy!

Katee Robert’s Hades – Meg - Herc throuple has become canon for me. The story of the connection between the three of them is so well articulated that any other dynamic just falls flat for me. I really enjoy the complexity of the relationship, and the connection that exists between the three of them. And of course, consent is a sexy central theme as in all Katee Robert books! Having read an earlier edition a while ago, I note that part of this special edition is a bit of tidy up, but I didn’t really notice too much of a difference other than the footnotes.

I did enjoy the footnotes. Sourcebooks has done this a few times with different authors and it is something that I really enjoy, it gives a lovely little insight into the thoughts on different parts of the story, and a peek behind the scenes. Love it!

Learn My Lesson is a sultry, captivating reimagining of Greek mythology that blends passion, danger, and complicated relationships. Katee Robert delivers a Hades, Meg, and Hercules retelling that is as seductive as it is emotionally charged. The so-called love triangle feels more like a tightly bound web of desire and loyalty, with each character bringing something irresistible to the table. Hades is all dark charisma and calculated control, Meg strikes the perfect balance between strength and vulnerability, and Hercules offers warmth and sincerity amid the shadows. The tension crackles in every scene, and the moments of power and surrender keep the pages turning.

“I love you,” I blurt out. “Both of you. So f*cking much. It scares the shit out of me.” Hercules flicks his gaze to my face, more serious than I’ve ever seen him. “You both know I’m head over heels for you two. I have been since that first night.” He glances at Hades. “So, no shit, I love you.”

Perfect for readers who crave morally gray characters, intense stakes, and an unforgettable Underworld romance.

This was sooooo cutesie!!! The bonus material was everything and I absolutely LOVED the author annotations throughout the book! I didn't realize this was Book 2 but it can be read as a standalone, although I do wish I had read the first one first because of the callbacks to Jasmina and Jafar. It still did not take away from this story, though. I reallllly enjoyed this! My absolute only complaint is I actually wish it was longer lol.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘Learn My Lesson’ is a tantalising twisted version of the Greek myth of Hades, Megaera and Hercules. As the name of the series suggests, the second installment in the ‘Wicked Villains’ is a deviously delicious combination of kinky and heartwarming. Hades and Meg have ruled the Underworld for years, their relationship is complex but their dynamic is full of beautiful tension and emotion. And Hercules, the most gorgeous golden retriever boy, is just the breath of fresh air that they need.

I really liked all three of the main characters - Meg, Hades and Hercules - in ‘Learn My Lesson’. Each of these characters felt incredibly well-rounded and easily stood apart from each other. I liked that all their personalities were incredibly different, and each had very clear strengths, struggles and quirks. The main triad also complemented each other really well, which I know was the point, but it really showed in how Robert wrote and portrayed them.

The side characters are a lot of fun too and definitely grab your attention in a way that you remember all of them. Not a single character feels unnecessary or out of place, as they often can within large casts of characters.

Obviously I know that this book falls into the erotica genre above all else, but I felt like the whole plotline with Zeus was just a convenient way to bring in Hercules. It didn’t feel like a main part of the book and then was just thrown back in during the last few chapters. Given how important a character he is to both Hades and Hercules, I would have liked to see his plotline feature more in this book, even if it was just more communication or threats involving him. As much as I loved the spicy scenes and how they were written, I do think that there easily could have been less of them as a trade-off.

The footnotes and annotations in this re-released version were an awesome addition, providing a great insight into Robert’s thoughts and feelings about the characters, their plot choices and their writing.

As with every Katee Robert book I’ve read (which is getting to be a few now) - I absolutely love their writing. It’s incredibly easy to read, the characters have their own voices and the scenes are always a mixture of both tension and fun. Annnnd I just wanted to take a moment of appreciation for the absolutely gorgeous new cover artwork.

This is now the third book I’ve read by Kate Robert, and I continue to fall in love with their diverse and unique characters, and their ability to write such sexy and steamy scenes. ‘Learn My Lesson’ was a blast, and I can’t wait to read the next installment. The best part of this series? Villains and heroes getting their happily ever after together - sign me up for the rest ASAP.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for sending me a digital ARC of ‘Learn My Lesson’. All opinions shared in this review are my own.

3.5stars-LEARN MY LESSON is the second instalment in Katee Robert’s adult WICKED VILLAINS dark, erotic, Dom/sub romance series, a modern retelling focusing on the gods and goddesses of Olympus, set in the author’s DARK OLYMPUS world. This is Hades, Megaera and Hercules’ menage story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers including FF/ MM/ MFM/ MMF and Dom/sub sexual situations.

Told from three first person perspectives (Hades, Megaera and Hercules) as well as annotations and side comments from the author Katee Robert, LEARN MY LESSON follows the building but acrimonious relationship between our story line trio. Hades and Meg have been a couple for close to ten years but the arrival of Hercules, a young man determined to ‘save’ our story line heroine from a life of submission, finds Hades and Meg with a new sexual play thing but all is not as it appears to be when Hades reveals the truth about his connection to Hercules, and the betrayal by someone they both know.

The world building focuses mainly on the antagonistic nature of Hade’s need and attraction for both Meg and Hercules. Meg is the woman who controls his heart but Hercules is a means to an end. As Meg comes to terms with a new man in her life, Hades must deal with a past betrayal and his need for revenge.

The relationship between Hades and Meg struggles in the face Hades’ need for control. Meg is a ‘switch’-can be both a Dominant or a submissive but the arrival of Hercules pushes Meg for something more. Hades knows he will never stop loving the woman who controls his heart but losing her to someone else was never in the plans. The $ex scenes are numerous, provocative and intense but often unnecessary.

LEARN MY LESSON is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, forgiveness and acceptance. The slow building premise is dramatic and imaginative; the romance is impassioned; the characters are determined, desperate and questionable in their authenticity.

This was the perfect read for me at the moment: this book isn't heavy on the plot, but it focuses more on the characters and their relationship, both mentally and physically. I have been wanting to read Katee Robert's books for a while now, and it did not disappoint: I was hooked since the beginning, Meg's character was the most interesting between the three of them, I liked how authoritative she was with other people (not with Hades tho, I still don't understand why she didn't leave him tbh). I also appreciated that Hades and Hercules were completely different but they were what Meg needed and they fit and worked so perfectly in their relationship.
It was a really fast paced read, I didn't mind it but maybe I wanted a deeper development from Hades, I believe he could have behaved better after Meg told him what she felt was lacking from him; he shouldn't have changed his persona but he could have made a better effort. Also I wasn't a big fan of the miscommunication at the beginning, but I was relieved it was solved after the first half and not at the end of the book.
Lastly I really appreciated the bonus content, but mostly the author's notes, it was fun to read why they decided to write specific things and their thoughts after years (since the book was first published 6 years ago).

A spicy and erotic Megaera x Hades x Hercules inspired tale, Hercules finds himself walking into a perfect trap set by Hades, blinded by his desire for both Megaera and Hades. By the time Hercules figures out Hades' game, it may be too late...

I am a sucker for a myth-inspired story, and a why choose? Let's gooooo. I loved reading Katee's thoughts through annotations in the story. It was a great glimpse into the choices she made along the way.

The plot is super character driven and focuses on the relationships and the power dynamics between the characters, with Hades' plan being the main plot to push things along. The spice in this was enough to make me BLUSH so maybe don't read it when someone can watch over your shoulder!!

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for an e-arc! All opinions are my own.

A hard lesson to learn...

This is the contemporary, dystopian, Disney villain series, with heat and steam and usually a poly knot.
Yeah. She went there.
Hercules wants to be a hero, to "save" Megaera from her dastardly Hades. Only, she likes being with Hades and she likes being with Hercules. He likes being with them both. Hades is delicious and dark, Yeah. I'd take that.
So, it is a hard lesson to learn, but what a away to go!
Recommend for unconventional steam, complications and maybe just going with it.

ARC Review ✨

I am a sucker for a good spicy fairytale retelling, and this one really hit the spot.
Hades is masterfully written; flawed and cruel with a soft spot for Meg - his queen. I really loved the way they portrayed Meg and Hades relationship as a ‘marriage in trouble’ and how that bleeds into the relationship they have with Hercules. Hercules is definitely my favourite character out of the three. A golden retriever in human skin - he’s the perfect counterbalance to Hades and Meg’s intensity.
The plot itself was fairly minimal (if you catch my drift 😉) but I did enjoy the story, and how it was all unraveled - the plot is mostly character driven and that’s something I personally enjoy.

This edition of Learn My Lesson also came with annotations from the author, it was really interesting to see their thoughts and insights as I was reading.

Overall, this was an excellent book!! One that I’d definitely recommend to a friend.

⚠️ This book contains content that may be distressing to some readers. Please consider reading the TWs before picking up this book.

Thanks to NetGalley, Katee Robert and Source Books Casablanca for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in the Wicked Villains series and follows Hades, Meg, and Hercules. Similar to the last book, this is the deluxe edition with authors notes, new artwork, and bonus scenes. I particularly enjoyed the notes throughout, giving us a peek at what the authors thoughts or memories were.
If you want LOTS of spice it’s always safe to pick up a Katee Robert book and this is no exception. This book originally came out in 2019, but the deluxe edition launched yesterday! I believe it’s a limited run, so if this appeals to you don’t delay picking up your copy.

Thanks to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and the author for the ARC!

I really liked how there was queer representation throughout the book and adored hercules. I wish hades opened up just a tad bit more throughout the book but i can’t complain too much.

This was probably one of my favorites from the series but still not my favorite. The writing did improve a heck of a lot in terms of plot from the first one to this one and I enjoyed the characters a lot more.

If Meg, Hades and Hercules were a throuple. This is spicyyyy and dives deeper into the club scene but still filled with Disney references and reimagining. This was so fun and I loved seeing the author’s notes! I also loved the tie in to the Dark Olympus series and other characters from this series

Are you looking for a book with more spice, little plot, and make you blush? Definitely read this! This is a MFM/MMF between Hades, Meg, and Hercules. This goes into different aspects of the BDSM community and I advise you to read the trigger warnings! I ate this up though for sure!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the eARC.

These are my guilty pleasure books. The kind you can’t stop reading but don’t want anyone to know what you’re really reading! They are sexy and informative without being vulgar if that makes sense. Sensual and creative. I appreciate the authors storylines and the interconnections between characters. I get submersed into this universe and just want to keep reading more and more. Not for the faint of heart.

This was an alright book. I think fans of the Dark Olympus series will really enjoy this addition. I haven't read any of the Dark Olympus books in a while and I personally just don't think the series is for me anymore. That being said I really liked reading Robert's footnotes; they were a great addition to the story and I think reading an author's process is really enjoyable.

This book is deliciously dark in the best way. The dynamic between Hades, Meg, and Hercules is complicated, messy, and ridiculously hot. Every scene crackles with tension, and the emotional stakes somehow hit just as hard as the spice. I loved how unapologetically bold it is. These characters are powerful and vulnerable in equal measure, and their connection feels both dangerous and deeply real. If you're into morally gray romance with high heat and big feelings, this one is an absolute must.
