Penny has a secret, She blogs under the alias girlonline she writes about school, life, boys, what makes her mad and her family. As well as the panic attacks that she’s just begin to suffer from. When things go from bad to worse she goes to New York with her parents and meets Noah, a guitar player. She’s falling head over heels in love and begins blogging about it. But now I have the secret to one that threatens to ruin Zoe’s cover.
This book is definitely for the younger crowd it’s cute and definitely a page turner.

The first book in a series that I have been wanting to read for awhile. I knew going in that this book may be a little below my reading level, but I was intrigued because I used to follow Zoe Sugg's career closely.

This was a sweet book. The main character is a young girl who has recently started a blog and ends up in NYC due to her parent's job where she meets a guy that sets her life onto a new trajectory.

I don't want to say much more because the surprises in the book are worth reading it for. For me this was an easy weekend reading and I enjoyed it, but it by far won't be one of my favorite books of the year.

Overall, I found the book to be okay. It definitely had its flaws but it sure did have these positive elements to it. It made for this perfect contemporary read which was light and fluffy but it also had something a little deeper to it. The writing didn't attract me in the beginning, however, the more I read the more I got into the writing and the smoother it became. The plot was cute and fluffy but there sure was a case of insta-love. The characters weren't the kind to imprint on me. I found them bland but they were perfect in the story. Thank you so much to Penguin Random House South Africa for providing me with a copy of this book

5 Words: Secrets, friendship, family, drama, fame.

I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I expected.

I originally expected fluff. Pure fluff. But it wasn't, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Girl Online is actually the type of book I utterly adore. I could not get enough of it, and the second I finished I got the second and third books, because I did not want the story to stop.

The audio narrator is exceptional, she really brought the characters to life.

A story where you travel around Europe plus New York. Sign me in. I really enjoyed and adored this series because on how the story depicts the life of Penny Porter as a blogger and her family and friends. Though the series is cliché, the message behind the book is what struck me the most.

Sit back and relax. Grab your drink and let’s talk about the “Girl Online Trilogy”.

It tackles about anxiety
At the start of the book 1, you will meet Penny Porter who has an anxiety. She was like girl online going solothe rest of us – blogger, introspective, photographer, and a loving person so it is not hard to get into her shoes. And as the book 2 and 3 rolls up, it shows how she conquer and balance her fears and even if she’s gone through a lot, she helped other people to overcome their own fears and to be the best version of yourself.

Good representation of family
I know not a lot of us has a good relationship between our parents or brothers/sisters but for me reading a book when a teenager has a great bonding with her/his family is too good to be true. In this series, you will see how understanding and loving her parents are especially her brother is such a cool guy you’ll ever meet.

Talks about friendship and teenager angst
A lot of crazy stuffs in the story when friendship associates in a YA contemporary books. So, in these series it shows what is the real friendship does and Penny’s forgiveness towards to her enemies. Teenage years is a difficult stage but reading this story is so much refreshing.

Passion
You see not a lot of us could reach what we love to do. Even more so, when you’re supposed to recognize what course would you take after high school. In that sense, the story also centers about listening into your intuition and to follow your dreams.

#TeamInternet
Since our protagonist is a blogger, you know what happens when it depicts the life of a blogger and the uses of social media. Her hobby is to take a photograph, so when she has a chance to showcase her works – she presents the good side of technology in our society. It is also a good representation about the PROs of social media. *I remember the Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West about the use of social media in this generation. If you like that kind of story, you should give this a try.

Even if I like this series a lot, there’s still a CONs.

Insta-Love
I’m not a fan of Insta-Love because it’s not real and it’s impossible. Imagine you just met a guy at New York then suddenly you clicked and boom boom pow, here we go again to the lines of “I really think I like you” or “Not just like but love”. however, I still give it a chance because that is not my primary focus on the story.

Love interest
So, here’s the thing, I admit that it disappoints me in a tiny bit of my heart. Why does a

girl online on tour
I tried my best but since this is a basic kindle. The struggle is real.
story needs a love interest when the story itself is so much good without it? I don’t have against about the love thingy because I have a boyfriend. BUTTT… this book is so good. Throughout the series, you will see the amazing character development especially for Penny and on the third book when she changed for the better. Then suddenly, here comes again the Brooklyn Boy. I have this vision in my head when I wish the ending is not the typical “Happily-Ever-After.”

Girl Online series may not be a perfect book but I loved the theme of the story.

Fun and cool read. I really enjoyed this book even though it is not typically my genre.

Sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore as I have lost interest in the concept.

About a couple of years ago I used to watch Zoella's videos all the time, I really enjoyed them and looked up to her. I remember her mentioning this book back then when she was working on it, and I was really looking forward to it.

Now, we all know about the whole ghostwriter scandal and what not. Zoella didn't exactly write this, but she created the story and had someone actually write it for her, and I think that what made people mad was the fact that it wasn't really pointed out that this is how it all went.

But I don't care too much about that, it's all out in the open now and we can move on.

Now, like I mentioned before, I liked Zoella a lot back then, so I've seen a lot of her videos and, from what I read here, it seems like Penny, the main character, is pretty much her. I mean, I know a few things about Zoella, so it felt like the book was not new to me at all, you know? It felt like I had already read part of it or something, I don't know...

And Penny is actually very likeable, I think it's easy to relate to her. Who doesn't have a lot of embarrassing moments from their past? Or keeps having them every now and then...

Although at first I couldn't understand her choice of friends, it's like she liked to be mistreated by them, but I'm glad she starts to value herself more by the end of the book. Because seriously, who's so mean that they can share someone's (especially a "friend's") incredibly embarrassing moment caught on video on social media!! I could never do something like that, it's awful!

And Noah, Penny's love interest, is pretty adorable as well. I haven't liked the male heroes from the last books I've read, so this was definitely a nice change. Noah is hiding something from Penny though, which is obvious from the very beginning and it's not easy to figure out.

Even though there's this misunderstanding regarding Noah's secret, they make things work and they're great together.

Penny also has an amazing best friend named Elliot, who is very funny and, well, he does have his moments, but he is really cute in the end, and tries his best to be a good friend to Penny.

This book has many cute, inspiring messages as well, which I guess was to be expected coming from Zoella.

I wish the book was published when I was fourteen. Why? Because I would have liked it so, so much more. I felt thinkings happens to easily for the characters and that they didn't grow enough, I did like Noah the most because I could tell he's hiding something. Not because the blurb told me, but his actions. If it wasn't for Noah, I wouldn't have finished this book, but I wanted to see how he was going to handle his secret. Over all, the writing wasn't bad, nor most of the characters. As well, I don't feel like I need to read the next book for this one tied everything up in a nice bow.

Penny has a secret. In her spare time, she blogs about boys and friends and family and life in general, including the panic attacks that she suffers from.

This was a really cute idea and I had a lot of hope for it but it was very young and kind of cheesy. Maybe I'm too old to be in the target audience, but I'm sure that middle school girls would appreciate this more.

I like the cover as it is promising of interesting teenage novel.
The main character is a girl ages 13-15, she goes to school, she has Facebook, she has crush on the boy from her school for ages, her long term girlfriend has become distant, so her best friend has become a boy next door, Elliot, with whom she has a secret knock on the wall message code.

Her life starts to spin in different direction after starting to notice these weird panic attacks during several situations, she has also tried to write a secret blog as a place where to escape and only her best friend knows about it. The story goes for:
*betrayal from her long term best girlfriend, laughing out loud and trying mean ways of hurting her;
*her parents are taking her and Elliot to NY for a week ++ and that's where she finds her personality, she meets this "Brooklyn Boy" who's becoming her new instant crush;
*her life getting back to England is not exactly as it seems and she faces a big drama- involving distance relationship, as well as finding way out, with Elliot's help and her parents supportive attitude.

Its a funny, intriguing, sweet teenage romance novel as well, as it touches issues related to panic attacks, online life, Facebook, texting, best friend forever betrayal or how we grow apart, falling in love, having a friend whom you can rely to, facing total embarrassment in front of all school - and in the middle finding your new way out, leaving "friends" not worth behind.

I think this is a good story for teenage girls who are having some anxiety or have betrays from their best friends forever - a way to see that, perhaps, life is better without them.

Penny, a teenage blogger who utilises her online diary to share her misadventures as a an awkward school girl is launched into a whirlwind romance on holiday in New York City. Of course not everything goes smoothly and there is adorable Elliot to help her out here.

So the story line is not unique and the characters are those you will have met in other YA romance fiction, but I did enjoy reading this book; I enjoyed the New York scenes, the day trip Noah and Penny went on and it certainly reminded me how glad I am not to be a teenager caught up in the school cool hierarchy.

I will be picking up the next in the series for a nice light, delighting read.
