In a quest to uncover the truth surrounding how her mother was forced to flee Grace Halton travels to England.
Grace must make a decision to save her mother that will change her future. Will her grandparents force her to make the same fated decision made by her mother all those years ago?
An unexpected turn of events when Grace realizes that the stranger she's forced to marry becomes the one man she can't live without.
A spicy read that takes us into the world of passion, humor, adventure, and so many characters that we are guaranteed for more stories to come.

I no longer have access to this book and do not anticipate seeking it out to read it at this time. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

A quick read with everything you would expect from a book of this genre. I found this book a bit on the cheesy side although it was a fun read.

This is the second book in The Dukes of War series. Grace is a broke debutante until she marries and then she gets a small dowry from her grandparents that she wants to use to go back to America to her sick mother and bring both of them back to London to live with her husband. How difficult can that be? Enter Oliver a new Earl of Carlisle who is also broke and needs to marry a rich debutante but finds himself drawn to Grace again and again.
I loved all the characters except Grace's grandmother she was a witch. She was needed in the book just the way she was but as a person I didn't like her.
I would recommend this book to everyone who loves historical romance as it's one of my favorite series.

I'm sad to say that I didn't like this book as much as the first one in the series. I didn't connect as well with the main characters, Oliver and Grace, as I did with Benedict and Amelia in the previous book. I also found this one much less charming. It was still a decent story, but I hope the next one will be up to the level of the first book.
