Brilliant!!
Carla continues to deliver in Then She Vanished, book 17 in the Detective Gina Harte Series.
When a man is found dead in his car by suicide, his identity unknown and clues that a life is at risk if they do not act, the team never could have realized the twists and turns and depravity they were about to face. Gina’s past continues to haunt her as her ex-brother-in-law pops up again, is he trying to take her down, or is someone else behind the messages and new site calling for her destruction?
This story will have you gripped as you try to fit all the pieces together and in true style, Carla will slip in those final little twists and leave you anticipating the next installment.

Enjoyed this one, although I quickly realised that I had missed a few in the series so some parts of the book would have been better if I was more familiar with those e.g. Gina's "relationship" with Pete Bloxwich. I thought the chapters by Girl really added to the book and really helped me to empathise with the characters. It starts with a suspected suicide which opens up a lot of other strands and quickly becomes much more complicated with the involvement of accomplices and other missing people. I found Ruth to be a very likeable character, her husband and partner much less so! At times, the story seemed overly complicated, and I had to keep reminding myself of what had already happened as there seemed to be lots of extra characters. All the while, Gina's personal life was also impacting and I wondered throughout whether that would resolve itself. I'll go back and read the books I have missed in the series and I'm sure the background will help.
I'd suggest you read a few before this one so that the background is making more sense, so I'm not sure this can be read as a standalone.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

I just love the way this author writes her characters and the way her plots keep you guessing until the end. This is a really clever mystery and a race against time, which really keeps you turning the pages. Never disappointed with a Gina Harte book and always left wanting more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy of Then She Vanished by Carla Kovach.
THE BEST BOOK SO FAR ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a read. I could not put this book down, I was so absorbed in the story and rooting for Carla to find the answers.
A woman is missing, is this connected to a teenager who hasn’t been seen for years.
A real page turner. Clear your day before you start reading this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So well written! Absolutely thrilling and gripping with a great story line . The characters...so realistic! The suspense had me on the edge of my seat and sitting up in bed saying what?! More than once!

What an amazing Gina Harte book this was, kept me hooked till te last page and loved every bit of it. Carla Kovach always put some form of womans rights abuse in her books and this one was no different

Thank you so much Bookoutre and Netgalley for no 17 in the Gina Harte series.
These just get better and better and I was on the edge of my seat / bed as I couldn't put this down.

Name:- Then She Vanished

This crime thriller is packed with suspense, shocking twists, and a deeply emotional mystery that spans three decades. Thirty years ago, sixteen-year-old Elissa Pritchard vanished without a trace. Her mother, Ruth, never gave up hope of finding answers. When another girl disappears in the same area, Ruth is horrified to see a familiar red scarf at the crime scene—it belonged to Elissa. Desperate for justice, Ruth contacts the police. But before they can speak to her, she, too, disappears.
Detective Gina Harte is left to untangle the chilling connections between the past and present. Did Ruth finally uncover the truth? And if so, did it cost her life? With each lead, Gina discovers secrets that prove no one in Elissa’s past can be trusted—not even those closest to her.

My Rating :- 5/5.

this book was okay, apparently it was book 17 from this author, not necessarily a series, but kind of a series??? I do not think oit was just a standalone, so I might have missed out. I am confused how this would be a 17th book though
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

I am a huge Di Gina Harte fan, so seeing book 17 in the series on Netgalley made my day. I obviously took the opportunity to ARC read this one.
This case, it's a big one filled with mystery. A teenage farmer boy discovered a car on their land, in that car was a man that wasn't moving.. When police came it was quite clear the man had commuted suicide. With a note that began this case they start looking for a girl, trapped somewhere by John Doe. Without food and drinks so time is of the essence. In this case it comes to light that there are missing girls, now cold cases, that have described John does' appearance loitering in the days prior to the dissappearences.
There's also I side thing going on. Gina is being harassed by misogynistic man, with ai altered pictures out there and later on pictures from her past resurfacing, her head isn't completely in the case. Trying to handle the situation she puts her trust in none other then Pete f.ing Bloxwich (if I wrote the name wrong. Excuse me.) and letting Briggs in the dark hoping it'll just blow over or it being resolved without anyone knowing.
When the case unfolds there are a lot of things happening at once. But god, what a story. That a mind can create this kind of fiction has me blown away.
Thank you for letting me read this beaut of a book!

As expected with his author we are getting a thrilling read and if you have been reading this series book 17 pulls the usual punches.
We get to see a more emotional side of Gina, she is a tough ballsy woman but her past keeps showing itself and she struggles to keep it on the sidelines.
This is a tale of missing girls and I was hooked and intrigued.
Yet another fabulous read and one I enjoyed..

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
What starts with a dead man, and potential imprisoned girl, leads to kidnap and missing women. Gina and her team investigate, whilst Gina is dealing with some tricky personal circumstances.
Another fabulous installment in this series. I felt all of Gina’s emotions. The characters are so well written, they are real to me. The storyline was quite complicated and confusing. This added to the sense of so many intertwined lives though, and wasn’t a bad thing. The flashback with the sneaky whodunnit was unexpected and I’m definitely there for shock value. Roll on the next book!

Another great Gina Harte read, this was exciting and emotional, and kept me guessing until the end. Brilliant!

The latest in the Detective Gina Harte series.
Always a good read, this one is particularly gripping and in many ways, disturbing too.
You read stories about similar circumstances, although (Without giving too much away), I wasn’t sure whether the IT set-up was maybe a step too far.
Gina Harte’s past coming up again was for me a distraction in an otherwise excellent novel.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing me with an Advance Reader's Copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I love this series of novels Gina Harte is one of those amazing detectives who is determined to find the truth even if it put her life in danger and it seems her ex brother in law is still trying to get revenge and maybe this case may be the one that finally means she will be punished for her past mistakes. This is a very dark read about missing children and a dark network for hire that is more depraved than most of us can ever imagine.

Then She Vanished by Carla Kovach is an intriguing psychological thriller that weaves the threads of a decades-old mystery with the chilling reality of a new disappearance. The narrative unfolds through multiple characters.
The author intertwines themes of trust, betrayal, and the quest for truth, leading readers through various twists and turns. Each character is pretty well crafted, with secrets that kept me guessing about their true intentions.
As the book unfolds, the pace quickens, culminating in a good climax, though there were some confusing parts of which character was which and having to keep scenes and characters straight.
Then She Vanished is not just a story about a mother seeking closure for her lost daughter; it’s a haunting reminder of how past traumas can seep into the present.
This novel is a good read for fans of psychological thrillers and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted mystery.
I would recommend this book and this author.

Oh my goodness, Carla Kovach does it again! I love slipping into a novel of familiar characters and eye popping scenarios. If you love a story that is packed with mystery, suspense and nail biting twists and turns, this one’s for you.
But be prepared to be hooked from beginning to end.
Thank you NetGalley, Carla Kovach and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is an absolutely fantastic book. I’m hooked on this series and I’m always looking forward to the new stories. I just can't wait to start reading when I get my hands on a new copy. Entertaing and chilling storylines, well developed characters and a lot of suspense. A real recommendation.
I received an advance review copy via Netgalley/Bookouture and I’m leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Carla Kovach is back and she brings a story that stands out from anything else.
In the beginning, Gian an her team find clues, but they don't really find something to connect them to and the further the story develops, the more complex it all becomes.
Gina wants to focus for the full 100% on the case she has to work, but on top of that, a storm is brewing in her private life and if she does not find a way to stop it, it might even turn into a hurricane, sweeping everything she has worked for away.
A helping hand reaches out to her, but it's one she would prefer to slap away instead of accepting it. The problem is, it's the one one who can really save her...
This is an excellent book overflowing with emotions, but make sure you can read the revelations without any interruptions. I compare the outcome to a plate of pasta where you have to disentangle the spaghetti strands. Not an easy task, but Gina did it again. She solved the case with the help of her amazing team.
Splendid book. Loved it. 5 stars
Thank you

The 17th book in the series and finishing the last one, you would think how the author is going to surpass this one and naturally she does, what I love most is the blend of Gina’s determination to solve the latest case while her personal life is falling apart. These can be read as standalone as there are insights into Gina’s life but to get the full story, it’s best to read from the start. My only disappointment is finishing the book because now I have to wait for the next book. A five plus star rating from me.
