This is such a cute, sweet, and a little bit spicy romance. I loved that it's wrapped in a hint of potential paranormal mystery that added another layer to the meet cute/love story between El and Carter. The life of a popular influencer is also interesting and I liked the way the author brought authenticity to her posting by the end. The audiobook is a great way to enjoy this novel and the narration is fantastic.

Mallory Marlowe blends romance, mystery, and a dash of extraterrestrial intrigue into a delightfully sweet story about connection and self-growth. El and Carter’s journey is compelling not only because of their romantic chemistry, but also because of the emotional depth in how they strive to be what the other has been missing in life.

El is an absolute sweetheart, Carter is an understated badass, and together they bring equal parts yearning and warmth to the page. The UFO mystery thread kept me hooked. I was just as eager as they were to find out what was going on. The nod to Love and Other Conspiracies was a charming Easter egg for fans.

This was a fun mystery/action romantic comedy. Has me eager to read the first book by this author. El is an LA influencer who encounters a suspicious flying object. Carter is a secret government agent who pairs up with El to investigate the sighting.

The chemistry between El and Carter was off the charts. They were flirty and fun. True partners in crime that had each other's backs. It was so natural how they found love and comfort in each other. There seemed to always be a complete understanding between them. They were right there with whatever the other person needed. I felt every touch and look shared between them. El was a real badass anytime danger came their way. I really loved her as a heroine. Also, Carter's suspenders totally worked for him!

Yet another amazing read by Mallory! El is truly such an amazing FMC and I loved all her aspects of self discovery. Plus dare I say I fell in love with a blonde MMC, we love a sexy suit moment. The splash of tragic past, self discovery, and magnetic connections. This truly has it all, even laugh out loud moments!

I know I'm in my romantic suspense era, and while this isn't a full-on romantic suspense, there are definitely elements of it, which I was not expecting, but loved all the same.

El was a fun FMC. She was so underestimated was because she was just an influencer, but she used that against people to help solve the mystery. Her circle of influencer "friends" are definitely over-the-top, but in a way that plays well for comedic effect, and I enjoyed watching El create a "brand" that felt authentic to who she was over the course of the story.

Carter was such a precious MMC and the real highlight? HE'S A MAN IN FREAKING BLACK!! I loved the shadowy agency,- agents fully equipped with suspenders and a fedora trilby hat- that the author created. I also utterly adored reading his POV because he is down BAD for El, which made his internal dialogue so much fun to read.

My main issue is that the pacing felt a bit off at times. With some of Carter and El's initial bonding happening off-page, it felt like they got together quick (even though they really didn't). Carter and El were SO cute together, so much so I was *fearing* the looming third-act conflict, but the author didn't force a contrived breakup, rather leaving the mystery itself to provide an external conflict, which subverted my expectations. And that third-act?? I was on the edge of my seat.

In short this was a fresh, funny, original romance packed with equal parts swoon and spice. The characters were each fun in their own ways, and they complemented each other really well as partners in (solving) crime. I can confidently say I haven't read something like it before, and a book that delivers an original spin on a contemporary romance is always going to get love from me!

Thank you Berkley Romance and PRH Audio for my gifted copies. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely adored Love and Other Conspiracies so I jumped at the chance to read Love at First Sighting!

I highly recommend the audiobook because it’s narrated by my new favorite Elizabeth Lamont and the male narrator Iggy Toma was great too.

El is an influencer who is out filming when she records something she shouldn’t. Agent Carter Brody is tasked with tracking her down and keeping her secret from coming out.

El and Carter’s romance developed a little quickly for me but otherwise I really enjoyed this. They go from him trying to track her down to trying to solve the mystery together. Both of Mallory Marlowe’s books are so much fun and give me X-Files vibes. I highly recommend if you’ve ever enjoyed that show.

It's a mystery but it's also a conspiracy theory but it's also a romance. Such is the genre mashup that I loved in Marlowe's Love And Other Conspiracies, which is taken up a notch in her sophomore novel Love At First Sighting.

El Martin is a social media influencer who is looking for more from her life than just vapid posting and pretending to be someone she's not. She fishes upon her wish and gets more than she bargains for when she accidentally captures what just might be a UFO on one of her livestreams. Enter Special Agent and Man in Black Carter Brody- aka Agent Ken Doll- who definitely bites off more than he can chew when he enlists El to help him look into the death of his father fifteen years earlier.

This book should have been entitled 'Lust At First Sighting' because El and Carter are immediately mega horny for each other. There is so much talk about how they want to jump each others bones, I kind of just wanted them to get a room already. And then I liked it when they did.

Overall this was an OK read- I felt it lacked the charm and uniqueness of Love and Other Conspiracies, maybe because the mystery element wasn't super intriguing for me. I was hoping for more X-Files 'the truth is out there' vibes. El and Carter were cute and I enjoyed their love story, even if they were mentally undressing each other 75% of the time. I did get a small preview of Marlowe's next release 'Entities to Lovers'- what a title!- about a psychic who commutes with ghosts and gives haunted tours and I'm already looking forward to the release date!

Thank you to Berkley Romance for the free book and to PRH Audio for the complimentary audiobook. These opinions are my own.

This was fun. El is an influencer and live streams when she sees what could be an alien ship. Carter, an agent or "man in black" tries to convince her not to say more about what she saw.

The whole thing spirals into all sorts of directions with fun questions about whether aliens are real, what the government is hiding, and why men in black seem to dress like they are still in the 1960's. There was lots of action and lots of humor, and I enjoyed myself.

The vibe was a bit different than I expected given Love and Other Conspiracies. The stakes felt somewhat higher. And I missed some of the lovely secondary characters. Here we really focus on our two main characters, and neither has much of a support system. There's a lot about fame and influencer life, but only from a perspective of how isolating it can be. That said, this is still definitely a rom-com and repeatedly made my laugh.

Elizabeth Lamont and Iggy Toma narrated the audiobook. I really enjoyed her performance, as she was more expressive.

I love the Men in Black movies, so this was a fun play on the “men in black” characters. This was such an entertaining and quirky read. It’s giving romcom movie with popcorn feels and I was all in. El, who is an influencer, ends up seeing something she shouldn’t while filming content. This means now she’s being stalked by a secret government agency - a man in black if you will. As they team up to discover what she saw, it also unveils some secrets of his own that Carter needs to solve about his family. The story provided plenty of cutesy moments and flirtations to build that tension while also hunting down the unexplained. While this isn’t a total alien story as the cover suggests, it is an encounter of another kind of mystery, intrigue, and chemistry! This is

I loved Mallory Marlowe's Love at First Sighting! Carter and El were adorable and felt grounded in a way that I do not often see anymore in romance fiction. The concept of an influencer falling in love with the men in black style agent on her case felt very fresh and unexpected. It was incredibly fun. I do wish there was a bit more depth to the characters that would have rounded out their storylines. For example, I would have love to explore what happened between El and her mother as a contrast to the heavy themes explored with Carter's relationship with his father. Those little things would have made an already great book even better. I do highly recommend it for someone who wants a fun fall ready with memorable characters and an unexpected plot.

This book was cute. El and Carter were an adorable couple for whom I was rooting. Marlowe perfectly balanced heartfelt, tender moments with steamy, spicy interludes. The mystery was well-plotted and engaging. The only negative for me was that, at times, the book felt dense and bogged down in government conspiracies. The book was fun and would be great for the beach.

Love at First Sighting is a perfect blend of romance, mystery, adventure and conspiracy! El is an influencer in LA and she goes live while capturing footage of a UFO. She doesn’t think much of it until Agent Carter Brody, a hot Man in Black, starts following and questioning her because what she saw he saw years earlier. This book is so much fun, highly recommend!

Also, if you haven’t read Mallory’s book Love and Other Conspiracies, make sure to add that one to your list too!

So you’ve just hiked past the “no TrespASSing” sign to get that primo shot for IG and on your way back to your car you’re met with a UFO!!!!🛸

What the heck?!? El has no idea what she just saw and her pristine athletic wear is now not so! Might as well upload the footage in case she doesn’t make it back. 📱

Now everyone thinks she’s lost it and the men in black are following her- OMG!

Follow El and Agent Brody as they search for answers among the files of the Private Intelligence Sector (or as El says PISS).

This is my second book from the author (check out Love and Other Conspiracies) and they are just fun RomCom, slight Paranormal, quirky reads! There’s chemistry, laughs and a bit of mystery and intrigue to keep you entertained! I highly recommend if you are looking for something on the lighter side of romance and paranormal (there’s both and nothing too scary or spicy)!

I can’t wait for the next book- which cryptid/paranormal aspect will be next?!?!

Thank you to author, Mallory Marlowe, Berkeley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. I received an epub and am leaving my review voluntarily.

This was such a fun, spiritual follow-up to Mallory’s debut Love and Other Conspiracies—though it works perfectly as a standalone (just with a few delightful name drops). If you loved that one, chances are you’ll enjoy this one too!

Carter and El were absolutely adorable together. Their dynamic was electric, and I loved watching their relationship grow and shift over the course of the story. The chemistry? Off the charts. The spicy scenes were a total highlight.

The mystery element and supporting cast were wonderfully over-the-top in the best way. There’s an Elon Musk–coded character who gets roasted the entire time, and El’s ex is cheesy magician who calls himself Alaka-Sam. Both had me laughing! The book is full of humor and joy, making it a delight to read.

This book was like stepping into a rom-com with a secret stash of adrenaline and spunk—I didn’t expect to love it this much, but I totally did. From the very first chapter, I was hooked by Marlowe’s smart writing and razor-sharp wit. The banter between El Martin and Agent Carter Brody was so quick and clever, I found myself laughing out loud more than once. It had that rare combo of charm and sass that made every scene sparkle.

I loved the chemistry between El and Carter. Their dynamic was electric, playful, and full of tension in all the right ways. Carter’s old-school fashion sense gave him this Cary Grant vibe that somehow made him even more swoon-worthy. And the way he cared for El—gentle, protective, but never overbearing—had me melting.

Just when I thought I was settling into a cozy rom-com rhythm, Marlowe threw in an action-packed moment that had me clutching my Kindle like it was a life raft. It added a fun jolt of adrenaline and gave the story an unexpected edge.

I really liked Love and Other Conspiracies by Mallory Marlowe, so I was very excited to jump into this one that follows a social media influencer who stumbles across a potential UFO. But unfortunately, this wasn't it for me.

The setup was definitely fun, but the execution was a little too over-the-top. The agency Carter works for gave off a Men in Black vibe, which might have worked better for me if it didn’t feel quite so silly. The trilby hat and suspenders uniform that he wore everywhere did not help. I don’t know, it just felt very different from the tone of the first book, which at least had some sense of realness.

This one leaned more into romantic suspense, which isn’t really my jam, and I struggled to connect with the story. The character backstories felt a bit underdeveloped, and the portrayal of lifestyle influencers bordered on caricature. Everyone aside from El was so exaggerated and terrible that it took me out of the story.

There were certainly aspects I enjoyed, like El finding a sense of adventure through Carter and recognizing how unfulfilling her carefully curated lifestyle is. But overall, this was sadly a miss for me.

This book was the perfect summer weekend read! Five stars for this adorable, sweet, steamy, and hilarious romance with a terrific mystery. I loved every page of this one!

El Martin is a very popular influencer. One evening while she is taking pictures, she encounters something odd. Something chases her, and she shares her encounter with her followers. This attracts the attention of a government agency.

Enter Agent Carter Brody. His job is to convince El that she didn’t see what she saw. But soon enough, El and Carter develop feelings for each other. This begins a romantic comedy/mystery that is one of the sweetest I have ever read.

El and Carter both have histories that have trauma and sadness and grief. They really find each other at the perfect time. I absolutely loved reading their journey. I also laughed out loud so many times with this one. This book is fun, and it will also tug at your heartstrings - in the best ways. It also has a great mystery.

But that ending - I loved it! I truly enjoyed spending time with El and Carter.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the opportunity to read this fantastic book! I cannot wait to read more from this author. This book is out on August 12th - pick it up!

Marlowe’s first book was one of my favorites from last year, so I was eagerly anticipating book two and it did not disappoint. El and Carter perfectly complement each other and their story is like a cozy pair of winter socks (all soft and fuzzy) you can’t wait to slide into.

☆Have you ever felt like your world is falling apart faster than you can comprehend? That's what El is going through. She lives in LA and is an influencer. She's currently living at an influencer house called The Birds Nest and she is doing pretty well with all her brand deals and promotions. The money is there but the zest for life is very absent. That's when she is thrown a curve ball.
☆El heads up to the mountains to get some pictures for an athletic line of clothing. When she is coming down the mountain a UFO appears. She immediately goes live and starts streaming in case something happens to her. The lights on the UFO are odd and there is some type of energy that almost makes it look like a mirage if not for the lights. She throws her water bottle at it and books it to her car. People online think she has completely lost her marbles.
☆Not Carter. Carter who is an agent for the FBI's PIS division (spell the letters out, don't pronounce, hee hee). The PIS handles UFOs, aliens, and anything else that can't be explained. Carter has seen this exact craft in the video that El took. He saw it when he was 10 and snapped a photo his dad told him to keep hidden. His father passed in an accident shortly after. Carter stepped in his dad's shoes when he was old enough to become an agent. Marcus, his dad's former partner, took Carter in and helped him get the job.
☆El is having no part of talking to Carter and the process she puts him through is quite funny. Once they actually start talking, they realize this may not be a UFO. Why would it be stamped with a PIS logo? El and Carter team up to investigate secretly what is really going on with Marcus and PIS but along the way they are thrown a little off kilter when they realize they have feelings for each other. That's when the fun really begins!
☆I really enjoyed this book! The pacing was so spot on I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. El had relatable feelings that so many women face and it was really sweet to see Carter learn his worth. They are the best team with fun banter and never a dull moment!
