It's wild how in 2025 women are still made to believe that learning about our bodies is taboo. Floored is a great resource by a pelvic floor physical therapist that can help fill in some knowledge gaps women may have regarding the importance of the pelvic floor. The insight gained from this guidebook helps demystify some common symptoms and makes advocating for proper care seem less daunting.

Absolutely LOVED this book. I was lucky enough to receive an early-release copy to review, and it was so helpful that I’m planning to buy a hard copy as soon as it’s out. As someone with endometriosis, I thought I had a decent understanding of what was going on with my body—but Floored opened my eyes to so many things I didn’t even know I should be doing. And of course, no doctor ever mentioned any of this to me (shocking… not).

Too many women silently suffer from pelvic floor issues, brushing off their symptoms as just part of motherhood or aging. For far too long, the healthcare system has normalized this discomfort, leaving us feeling confused, ashamed, and alone. Dr. Sara Reardon breaks it all down in a clear, compassionate, and super empowering way.

Floored is an essential guide to pelvic floor health, covering everything from menstruation and childbirth to postpartum recovery and menopause. It includes:
- Clear education on pelvic floor anatomy and why it matters for everything
- Self-assessment tools so you can actually figure out what’s going on
- Practical exercises and strategies tailored to different life stages

This book is a total game-changer and a must-read for anyone with a pelvis, honestly. Don’t wait for a doctor to bring it up—take your health into your own hands.

Information, health access, and education for people with female reproductive parts is still severely lacking in the year of 2025. Being able to read a book like Floored is beneficial not just for those with pelvic floor health issues, but for anyone with a female pelvic floor.

Well-organized and insightful, this book breaks down the female pelvic floor into various sections, each with its own subsection topics. *Note: I did skip the sections on pregnancy and postpartum because I have absolutely no intention of ever having a baby, but given the content of the rest of the book, I would highly recommend read for anyone who is currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Floored is told in a basic language that makes health accessible for all. You will not need your own medical degree or quick access to a medical dictionary to understand what Reardon is saying. Everything is spelled out in easy to understand terminology and there are a plethora of helpful graphs for the visual learner like myself. With the wide scope of knowledge, it is also understandable throughout that to resolve pelvic floor health issues, one must be willing to make the commitment to their health to do so. This book is not a quick fix 'just do some kegels and you'll be fine' instruction sheet, but rather an instruction manual that has plans and tips tailored to numerous issues.

Regardless of your stage of life, this book is beneficial to read. Whether you are sexually active or not, planning to have a baby to not, menopausal or not, this book covers topics that will helpful for you...even for things that we think we've known how to do all our lives, like peeing and pooping!

Shame and patriarchy have made it difficult for people with female parts to be able to articulate our needs, even with our gynecologists and other healthcare providers. Please read this book and help to heal your own inner stigma and be able to fully advocate for your health needs. I plan on purchasing both a digital and hardcopy of the book once it is officially released.

* I received a digital ARC of this book through NetGalley.

Floored by Dr. Sara Reardon is an absolute game changer for women’s health. As someone who has personally experienced pelvic floor dysfunction and undergone therapy for it, I cannot stress enough how important this book is. Before my own diagnosis, I had no idea how much the pelvic floor impacts everyday life—from bladder and bowel control to sexual health, pregnancy, and even posture. Like so many women, I was left in the dark about these issues, and finding resources that truly address them has been challenging—until now.

Dr. Reardon, known as the Vagina Whisperer, has created a guide that is both educational and empowering. She breaks down complex anatomy in a way that’s easy to understand, while also providing practical exercises and self-assessment tools that can genuinely help improve quality of life. Whether you're postpartum, dealing with incontinence, struggling with painful sex, or simply looking to better understand your body, Floored delivers compassionate, science-backed advice without shame or stigma.

What I love most about this book is its emphasis on reclaiming control over our own health. Too often, women are dismissed or told that issues like leaking, discomfort, and pain are just part of aging or motherhood. Floored challenges that harmful narrative and instead offers real solutions. This book is not just informative—it’s a call to action for all women to prioritize their pelvic health and demand better care.

If you have ever felt dismissed by doctors, struggled in silence, or just want to learn more about your body, Floored is an absolute must read. It’s the resource I wish I had years ago, and I know it will help so many women finally find the answers and relief they deserve.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sara Reardon, and Park Row for the eARC of this book.
