Everyone—yes, everyone—should read this book. Whether you have a uterus or not, Floored offers essential insight into the pelvic floor: what it is, what it does, and how a weak or tense pelvic floor can affect every stage of life.
Dr. Sara Reardon breaks down symptoms many people silently endure—pain during urination or sex, leakage, back pain, frequent urination—and explains that these aren’t just things you have to “live with.” They’re treatable, and the first step is education. This book delivers that in a practical, accessible, and empowering way.
It’s not just for postpartum moms. Floored covers everything from potty training and first periods to sex, pregnancy, birth, recovery, perimenopause, and menopause. It gives clear explanations and actionable steps on how to support your pelvic floor at every age and stage.
I genuinely wish this book had existed 15 years ago. It’s an empowering guide that makes you feel seen, heard, and hopeful.
Highly recommended for: anyone with a pelvic floor. So… everyone.
Thanks to Park Row and NetGalley for the advance reader copy.

This book is a fantastic guide to pelvic floor healthcare. It was very informative on everything from pain to leaking, peeing and pooping, childbirth to menopause, pelvic floor tension and weakness. I would recommend this to any woman.

This wonderful book has literally changed my life and I will never take my pelvic floor health for granted ever again. I’m thirty-nine years old and I’ve never thought about or even paid much attention to my pelvic floor until I read this literary gem. Sara Reardon deserves the highest of fives for creating such an informative and entertaining book without all the long-winded info dumping that I would usually come across in some health care books. I really enjoyed learning about how the pelvic floor is connected to other parts of the body and I never knew that there was a connection between my mind and my pelvic floor. Plus, I also enjoyed doing the recommended exercises because I realized that I needed to strengthen my pelvic floor and abdominal muscles and now I have added pelvic floor exercises into my daily exercise/self care routine. This book definitely needs to be on every woman’s bookshelf or e-reader because there’s so much life-changing information in it.
A huge thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this awesome book.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a digital ARC to read and review in advance of its publication.
I was thrilled to be selected as an advanced reader for "Floored." I had learned of Dr. Sara Reardon, aka "The Vagina Whisperer," on social media. As someone who came to pelvic floor awareness through my yoga teacher training and conversations with friends, I found this book to be both eye-opening and affirming.
We’re finally seeing a long-overdue shift in how women’s health is discussed, and "Floored" is a perfect example of what this “golden age” should look like: smart, compassionate, science-backed, and unafraid to tackle taboo topics. Dr. Reardon is a board-certified pelvic floor physical therapist, and her professional insight shines through on every page. This isn’t influencer fluff—this is real, actionable information, and it's empowering.
What makes this book stand out is how accessible it is. Whether you're navigating postpartum recovery, menopause, or simply curious about how to support your body better, "Floored" offers guidance in a voice that's both clinical and caring. I was surprised to learn how many of the yoga poses I already teach can support pelvic floor health, so I'll keep incorporating those poses into my classes.
In a world filled with wellness grifts and GOOP-style gimmicks, we need more voices like Dr. Reardon’s. I’ll be buying a copy of this book to keep in my permanent collection (digital ARCs don’t last forever) and recommending it widely. "Floored" is by far the best resource I’ve read on women’s “down there” health—comprehensive, relatable, and truly transformative.

As a 60 year old woman and librarian, I have not only been reading a lot of books about menopause but I've been ordering titles for the library's collection as well. This title with its focus on pelvic floor health is unique among the newer menopause offerings and, as a person who has visited an OB/GYN who specializes in pelvic floor pain and I've gone for pelvic floor PT with 2 different practitioners. With that information, I can say that this is an excellent addition to any public library's collection. This is a great book and I hope that more people will read it.

Such an educating read! For anyone with a pelvic floor- which is everyone! - this book provides much needed information about our bodies we often overlook. Pelvic floors are important!

Highly informative book on pelvic floor therapy - very important for all women. Will be highly recommending to others.

✨Book Review✨
📚 This book could easily be read all at once, or it could be used as a way to intentionally learn about different issues that occur with pelvic floors. I found myself alternating between this book and fiction books - because this information was so rich and meaningful that I needed time and space to process it fully. Sara made the information easy to access for the reader and I am so thankful to have it on my shelf. I can fully see myself looking back through this book as I age and need to reread certain parts.
🌟 If you want to learn more about the Pelvic Floor this guide is where you should start! If you’re like me and you’ve followed The Vagina Whisperer then you’re going to want to support Sara by reading her book!

Why are we not taught about this when we are young? Thanks Sara, for a great education on the pelvic floor. Share it with others.
Thanks Netgalley for the ARC!

It's wild how in 2025 women are still made to believe that learning about our bodies is taboo. Floored is a great resource by a pelvic floor physical therapist that can help fill in some knowledge gaps women may have regarding the importance of the pelvic floor. The insight gained from this guidebook helps demystify some common symptoms and makes advocating for proper care seem less daunting.

Absolutely LOVED this book. I was lucky enough to receive an early-release copy to review, and it was so helpful that I’m planning to buy a hard copy as soon as it’s out. As someone with endometriosis, I thought I had a decent understanding of what was going on with my body—but Floored opened my eyes to so many things I didn’t even know I should be doing. And of course, no doctor ever mentioned any of this to me (shocking… not).
Too many women silently suffer from pelvic floor issues, brushing off their symptoms as just part of motherhood or aging. For far too long, the healthcare system has normalized this discomfort, leaving us feeling confused, ashamed, and alone. Dr. Sara Reardon breaks it all down in a clear, compassionate, and super empowering way.
Floored is an essential guide to pelvic floor health, covering everything from menstruation and childbirth to postpartum recovery and menopause. It includes:
- Clear education on pelvic floor anatomy and why it matters for everything
- Self-assessment tools so you can actually figure out what’s going on
- Practical exercises and strategies tailored to different life stages
This book is a total game-changer and a must-read for anyone with a pelvis, honestly. Don’t wait for a doctor to bring it up—take your health into your own hands.

Information, health access, and education for people with female reproductive parts is still severely lacking in the year of 2025. Being able to read a book like Floored is beneficial not just for those with pelvic floor health issues, but for anyone with a female pelvic floor.
Well-organized and insightful, this book breaks down the female pelvic floor into various sections, each with its own subsection topics. *Note: I did skip the sections on pregnancy and postpartum because I have absolutely no intention of ever having a baby, but given the content of the rest of the book, I would highly recommend read for anyone who is currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Floored is told in a basic language that makes health accessible for all. You will not need your own medical degree or quick access to a medical dictionary to understand what Reardon is saying. Everything is spelled out in easy to understand terminology and there are a plethora of helpful graphs for the visual learner like myself. With the wide scope of knowledge, it is also understandable throughout that to resolve pelvic floor health issues, one must be willing to make the commitment to their health to do so. This book is not a quick fix 'just do some kegels and you'll be fine' instruction sheet, but rather an instruction manual that has plans and tips tailored to numerous issues.
Regardless of your stage of life, this book is beneficial to read. Whether you are sexually active or not, planning to have a baby to not, menopausal or not, this book covers topics that will helpful for you...even for things that we think we've known how to do all our lives, like peeing and pooping!
Shame and patriarchy have made it difficult for people with female parts to be able to articulate our needs, even with our gynecologists and other healthcare providers. Please read this book and help to heal your own inner stigma and be able to fully advocate for your health needs. I plan on purchasing both a digital and hardcopy of the book once it is officially released.
* I received a digital ARC of this book through NetGalley.

This is a really great book to learn how to strengthen your pelvic floor and learn more about it.
A book every woman should read.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

I will be buying a copy for my daughter! Finally, something so incredibly informative in an arena that so few recognize as important enough to address. Greatly appreciate and value the very specific information and techniques provided in this book and wholeheartedly agree that every woman needs to know these things for ever changing pelvic health in the seasons of our lives. Many thanks to netgalley for this advanced reading copy!

I am ALWAYS in need of more information about this. Like my girlfriends and I get together and say, “it’s just not talked about enough”. So this book was fabulous and should be on the bookshelves of everyone woman out there.

Floored by Dr. Sara Reardon is an absolute game changer for women’s health. As someone who has personally experienced pelvic floor dysfunction and undergone therapy for it, I cannot stress enough how important this book is. Before my own diagnosis, I had no idea how much the pelvic floor impacts everyday life—from bladder and bowel control to sexual health, pregnancy, and even posture. Like so many women, I was left in the dark about these issues, and finding resources that truly address them has been challenging—until now.
Dr. Reardon, known as the Vagina Whisperer, has created a guide that is both educational and empowering. She breaks down complex anatomy in a way that’s easy to understand, while also providing practical exercises and self-assessment tools that can genuinely help improve quality of life. Whether you're postpartum, dealing with incontinence, struggling with painful sex, or simply looking to better understand your body, Floored delivers compassionate, science-backed advice without shame or stigma.
What I love most about this book is its emphasis on reclaiming control over our own health. Too often, women are dismissed or told that issues like leaking, discomfort, and pain are just part of aging or motherhood. Floored challenges that harmful narrative and instead offers real solutions. This book is not just informative—it’s a call to action for all women to prioritize their pelvic health and demand better care.
If you have ever felt dismissed by doctors, struggled in silence, or just want to learn more about your body, Floored is an absolute must read. It’s the resource I wish I had years ago, and I know it will help so many women finally find the answers and relief they deserve.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sara Reardon, and Park Row for the eARC of this book.
