The author through interviews with surviving members of his cabinet and others gives you a look into the life of the man leading up to his winning the election and then his time in office. How everything changed with the Soviet Union and how his personality won over people. He like others had his faults but for the most part, most people liked him. He definitely would not be able to understand the Party he was with nowadays. This is an excellent book for those who don’t know anything about him and for those people like me who voted for him and want to remember him. A good book.

This is a complete biography of Reagan's life, emphasizing the days leading up to his White House bid, and his years of living in the White House. In the course of reading this, I visited the Reagan Library. I appreciated having read the particulars of events before that visit. They brought back memories from my young adult years and even made me feel “hopeful.” I highly recommend this for those interested in The Reagan Revolution.
