Just how much am I loving the Eye of the Goddess series by Sariah Wilson? So much!!

It’s a MUST to read the first book in the series, so if 🛑stop now🛑if you don’t want possible spoilers.

This book continues on with Lia’s adventures in her quest to find the truth of the eye of the goddess and she finds herself blackmailed to marry Alexandros. In a combination of intense romantic connection and the consuming need to hate him, Lia is battling many things–including herself.

Sariah Wilson has outdone herself with this epic tale and I need the rest of the story ASAP. While the timeline isn’t long, the pacing is brisk and the emotions and mysteries are well done. I could feel every single one and gasped at the twists this story took. This romantasy has it all–magic/fantasy elements, romance, adventure, battles, and action. I love the deep connections found throughout, as well as the strong loyalty ties.

⚠️This story has a couple of chapters that are open door romance and are mentioned in the beginning if the reader chooses to avoid them.

3.5 rounded up to 4

Picking up where A Tribute of Fire ended, A Vow of Embers follows Lia and Prince Alexandros through their marriage ceremony and into the palace. Will she be able to find the eye with trouble at every turn?

Read if you like:
-Enemies to Lovers (?)
-A Setting that Feels like Ancient Greece
-Reluctant Bride
-Mystery
-Found Family

A Vow of Embers was good. It moved the story forward, revealed new challenges, introduced new settings, and had a plot twist I didn't see coming. I really liked how Lia and Xander's friends merged and formed their own relationships. But it also suffered from the sophomore slump. It just didn't have the same magic as A Tribute of Fire. I am really looking forward to the final book in the series to see how all these threads come together.

I had the absolute pleasure of getting to interview Sariah about both A TRIBUTE OF FIRE and A VOW OF EMBERS. You don't want to miss these books!

I absolutely adored this book! The female lead was all over the place and the author made it worth watching! The male lead won me over AGAIN! I was so mad at him in the first book, but he fixed it and I am in LOVE! It was a little more sensual than I am used to with this author - but it didn't disappoint and took me on a beautiful journey! The angst was high with this couple - but I was there for it! I loved the supporting characters, they added so much to the story and can't wait to read the 3rd and final installment of this beautiful Romantasy!

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for this story! All of the thoughts and opinions are my own!

I really enjoyed the book overall. It was fun picking up right where the last book left off. Love the characters and storyline.

I personally didn't love the added sexual content. I do NOT need to be a fly on the wall when a couple is being intimate. Better left behind closed doors and it loses a lot of the tension IMO.

I enjoyed this addition to the series. I feel like we got to learn more about many of the characters and deepen their relationships with one another. The ending of this surprised me!

All the stars. All the feelings. This book was just as good as the first one. I love that Lia continues to self evaluate and grow as a person and as a character.

I am intrigued by the magic system and loving the inclusion of animal sidekicks. (More Luna, please!)

I also really enjoyed how well thought out and connected the writing is, with seemingly small details reappearing in a bigger context.

Cannot wait for book 3.

A Vow of Embers by Sariah Wilson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Release Date: July 8, 2025

Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read this eARC. A Vow of Embers by Sariah Wilson is the second book in The Eye of the Goddess trilogy. The story picks up right after the cliff hanger ending of A Tribute of Fire. Lia has been forced into a marriage with the Prince in order to save her sister. Lia is still fighting to save her family and her country amidst political intrigue, feelings for her husband, new relationships, and a country on the brink of war. Lia learns more about the Goddess, the magic of the world, and what will need to be sacrificed to accomplish her goals.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I am pretty sure Sariah put some sort of addictive substance in this book because I stayed up way too late and read this book so fast! I really enjoyed learning more about the side characters throughout this book. The pacing of the story is great. Some major things happen in the plot to move the story towards the conclusion of the trilogy. The story is very character driven as Lia comes to terms with everything that has happened and learns to trust those closest to her. The slow burn between Lia and Xander was a little frustrating by the end as they continually have the same fight over and over again throughout the entire book. I have high hopes that this will improve early on in the next book.

I am really excited for the conclusion of the series and can't wait to find out what happens next. If you are looking for an addictive, fast-paced, character driven romantasy series to get sucked into, then you should definitely give A Tribute of Fire and A Vow of Embers a try!

The second book is just as fun as the first. It’s clear this author knows her Greek mythology but she has made this world and its magic her own. My biggest complaint though is enough of the slow burn. I can only take so much fight between the two main love interests and I’m at my limit.

This was a really interesting 2nd book in the series. I am excited to see where this will go. The world opened up so much more in this book, which I appreciated after the first book was a majority spent in one place, not knowing much of what was happening. We met a lot of new characters, new deception, new twists, politics, and watching Xander and Lia's relationship very slowly develop. I am excited to see where this series goes!
