Sandie Jones is a great thriller writer. I finished listening to I Would Die for You and it was amazing! I couldn’t turn it off.

I would Die For You was one of the most intense thrillers I have read in awhile. As soon as Nicole realized that her daughter’s mysterious disappearance had something to do with what happened between her and her younger sister and a scandal involving one of London’s most famous boy bands of the 1980’s I couldn’t listen fast enough. As the past was slowly revealed I kept thinking I knew why Nicole had run away and never told her husband about her past, but I could never have imagined what actually happened. 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (Rounded up) - T.W. Rape. This book is about 2 sisters but had an interesting concept. This story was written from two different timelines which merged into one story; London 1986 & California 2011. The transitions between the two were well written.

I did find myself enjoying the London 1986 storyline far more then California 2011. I liked Cassie & young Nicole but I older Nicole was frustrating and not likeable. I did find myself anxiously awaiting each chapter that went back to London 1986.

The audio was great. The narator: Imogen Wilde was wonderful. I enjoyed her accent, reflection & tone.

Although the twists were predictable, I did feel this was a good book.

I sped through this (I listened to it pretty non-stop last night before going to bed)!

In this book, we follow two different POVs/timelines. We see current day Nicole, she lives in California with her husband and their daughter, living a very normal life as she advocates for marine life. But then a mysterious woman comes to town, asking about Nicole's past. And scary things start happening. We also see Cassie, taking place in 80's England and a massive fan of an up-and-coming boy band.

I really wanted to know the past drama and how the puzzle pieces would all come together. I was a little disappointed though when they did all come together. The really drama of the story wasn't what I expected it to be, I thought it would be far more dramatic. And it felt so mundane and ordinary.

And the character's did have some weird reactions, they did not react in (what I felt like) normal ways. I don't really know how to explain that any better without spoiling an exact example, so sorry if that doesn't make much sense.

Overall, I did have a good time listening to this, I just wanted a bit more oomph.

I love reading books by Sandie Jones, and this was no exception. This is an intriguing book that I couldn’t wait to read.
This book kept me engaged and the character development was on point. The plot was engaging with a dark undertone. Great read!

I Would Die for You was my first book by Sandie Jones. It goes back and forth between 2011 in California and London 1986, following two sisters.
While I enjoyed the London chapters better, it still wasn't enough for me. The characters were not likable at all. Even by the end I just did not care to even see how it ended. Even with the twists it was just very predictable. The ending was very abrupt and felt like cliff hanger. Second book, maybe? But I would not plan on reading it. I will plan on giving her another shot and plan on reading something else by her(any recs appreciated) since I am not the type of reader that reads one book and be done with an author.

I do have to say, I went back and forth between the audio and digital copies. The best part of the book was Imogen Wilde. I really enjoyed her as a narrator and plan to put her on my list of narrators I enjoy.
