I haven’t read anything by this author previously, but as a lover of books I am always up for a book ABOUT books. This one didn’t disappoint. I fell in love with the town of forget-me-not; so much so that I immediately had to search to see if this book was part of a series. Sadly, it is not. The story of Tallulah and Juliet and all their friends in this quirky little town drew me in and I finished this book in just two days. The touches of magical realism made the story fun to read, and there were some great little lessons and reminders in the pages (I especially enjoyed the little wisdom quotes at the start of each chapter). Although this was the first story I’ve read by this author it definitely won’t be the last - and if she chooses to set some more books in Forget-me-not I certainly won’t complain!

As a retired librarian, I loved the premise and setting of this story. Two women looking for their “meant to be” path in a small little town that’s a bit mystical. Ioved it! Well developed characters with interesting families and friends. A delightful read from Heather Webber.

Forget-me-not, Alabama, a small town like any other except that it has a mysterious and long standing tradition of drawing in strangers who are lost and helping them find themselves again. That's what happens to Juliet, a young woman recovering from a lightning strike that left her alive but stole some vital parts of herself. She doesn't know it, but her arrival in Forget-me-not will trigger sweeping changes in the lives of more than one long-time resident. Tallulah is also back in town after the collapse of her marriage, and as a newly single mother, she'll need the healing of the town just as much as Juliet does. together, as they become friends, they'll learn what it means to continue living after life throws curves, to chart new paths, and to let the fabric of a town work its magic.

The book was so good! I love a small town trope, and the added magical realism here was very well done. Plus, there's a library and a library cat, and that's a winning combination every time. There was romance here, and it was sweet and closed door, but it was really secondary to the rest of the plot. The friendships and found family relationships in this book are what make it brilliant. From the young people getting to know each other to the senior citizens who have had a lifetime of bonding, these characters are not to be missed. The finale was deeply satisfying and felt a little like a warm hug on a cozy night. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a light, feel-good, magical read.

Heather Webber gets me every time. Her stories of southern whimsy hit right in the feels and the Forget-Me-Not Library was no exception.

Tallulah and Juliet are such strong characters with a past and the town of Forget-Me-Not, Alabama gives them exactly what they need, even if they don’t know what that is, yet. Juliet needs a place to feel safe, to settle and to remember. Tallulah needs a place to raise her kids after her divorce, and to move on. Forget-Me-Not knows just how to make these things happen.

The Forget-Me-Not Library is NOT a book about a library(!) though a very cute library is featured in a few chapters. At the end of the book, Ms. Webber acknowledges that a librarian friend of hers ensured that all aspects of life inside the library were accurate, and I have to say, she did a pretty good job of writing about the work library staff complete on a daily basis.

On to the story. Juliet is on a road trip, trying to heal after a traumatic and life-altering event leaves her feeling lost. As she navigates a pre-determined path, she finds herself following a detour to a town called Forget-Me-Not. There, her car inexplicably breaks down in a puff of smoke. The overly friendly townspeople whose neighborhood she is in, offer their home while she waits on repairs.

Tallulah is not happy to have a stranger encroaching on her family's space, but she recognizes that the town offers respite while Juliet copes with her extreme loss.

This book is a lovely romance with very subtle magical components that enhance the story rather than being a central theme. Hopeful and joyful, this book was written beautifully and was a delight to read.

Magical realism might be my favorite genre, so I was looking forward to reading The Forget-Me-Not Library. It’s a sweet book that focuses on 2 main characters, one who lives in the town of Forget-Me-Not, and one who gets stuck there when her car mysteriously breaks down there. Each character is going through their own trauma, and the magic of the town works to heal it. This book picked up the further I got into it, and I enjoyed it. Thank you to #netgalley and #stmartinspress for the advance copy of this book. #forgetmenotlibrary

This book invites you in from the start. Juliet's car breaks down in a town called Forget -me-not and she's not thrilled. She's been traveling from town to town all summer after a freak lightning storm caused her to forget her childhood memories and killed her grandpa. As Juliet is looking for help she runs into an older man outside looking for her granddaughter, whom he's misplaced again.

Tallulah lives in the same town, and it's her daughter that's gone off being misplaced again. She works at the town library, where a cat will push books off shelves for your to relive memories. She's divorced and lives with her dad, and two young daughters.

This is a lovely story. Enjoy!
