WOWWWWW!!! Let me tell yall I absolutely loved this book. I mean hands down loved it. Have yall ever come across a book and been like...oh I'm going to remember this book forever? Almost like it gets woven into the fabrics of your being? This is how this book felt for me. I havent felt this way about a book since i read The Invisible Life of Addie Larue about 2-3 years ago.

I'm not sure what the trope is called, but the trope of being stuck in time?? One of my favorites. Truly one of my favorites. Especially when its a YA book, and they are finding themselves, exploring who they are, and navigating hard to understand feelings. Between the romance, the grief, the feelings of being stuck and not knowing what tomorrow could bring or if it existed? YALL MY HEARTTTT.

I absolutely loved Marcus and Sydney. The idea of how Sydney was getting frustrated with being stuck was so real. I actually had some tears during that part i won't lie. But the plot twists in this book when they realized what they had to do? BOYYYYYYYYYY. I was bawlinggggg. I loved this book so much yall.

The ending threw me for just enough of a loop too, and wow. Fate. I mean thats it thats the sentence. I got the warm fuzzy feeling in my heart and I absolutely loved it. I'm smiling right now just from writing this review omg.

I do think that there were some editing mistakes in here, as all my POV markers were a bit mixed up. Yet I did receive an ARC so its understandable lol. I legit think this may be the first ARC i've ever read where I plan on buying the book after just to have. That is how much i legit loved this book. Wow.

Overall yall I loved this. I highly recommend this book. The themes, topics, and emotions alone are enough for me to recommend this, but i wholeheartedly want to recommend this just in general. An amazing read.

Okay honestly- in the very beginning I was confused! I went in completely blind and didn’t know what this story was. After the 3rd repeated day I finally caught on! I’ve watched multiple movies with the same day repeating itself plot, but this was my first book like this!

After pt 2 started I got hooked and couldn’t stop reading! I feel like I HAD to know how this ended.

**The story about Marcus & Aus last night together hit me right in my feels 😭 it was a tragedy I wasn’t expecting at all.

where do i even begin. first of all i loveeee a time loop trope. especially when its done well. this story also depicted grief in such a heartbreaking and real way and as someone who recently lost someone, i felt seen. as for the romance, marcus and sydneys chemistry were unmatched and i loved seeing them play out each day together. the ending though, RUINED ME (in the best way possible … i think)

all in all i definitely recommend this one and ill be picking up a physical copy when it comes out later this year

The Sun is Also a Star meets The Do-Over meets “Invisible String”
I’m struggling to write this review because I’m at a loss for words… this book was just SO GOOD!!!

The writing style was amazing- perfectly young adult, capturing the character’s ages while also taking into consideration what they had been through, making them sound a little older than 17, but still keeping the teenageness.

And the way this book handled grief was beautifully done. It showed multiple ways people deal with losing someone close to them. Sydney and Marcus were both grieving, but one was more recent and one was older. The discussions they had about grief were written so thoughtfully.

I loved Sydney and Marcus, as well. They both felt very realistic and I loved their characters! And their banter, joking around, and shenanigans were intertwined nicely with the more serious talks.

I think a lot of people will enjoy this book, even if you don’t usually read YA or feel too old for it. I will for sure be checking out more of this author’s books!

It’s You Every Time is a wonderful exploration of grief and how we interact with it and in it. This story is such a wonderful journey through the lives and grief of our main characters, Sydney and Marcus. They both have different versions of grief, but both experience it so strongly. I love these characters so much that I slowed down towards the end just to have more time with them.

Sydney is struggling with her parents’ expectations and missing her brother Sebastian. She’s such a sweetheart, and I want her to get everything she ever wants. She has this really wonderful interaction with her teacher towards the end that made me so emotional, and I just want everyone to read this book. Marcus is grappling with his grief and losing his brother and best friend Austin. His grief is more recent and raw, and his journey to healing, even a small amount, is one of the best I’ve ever read.

They knew each other so completely. They cared for each other so completely. I love how this book gave us the idea of fate and destiny and lives being intertwined even when you don’t know it. Through Sydney and Marcus, we are shown just some of the ways grief is present in people. Marcus wants to stay in that day, and Sydney starts to feel stuck. Together, they have to figure out how to navigate this new world they’re in while deciding if they ever want to leave.

The ENDING?? I gasped, I was so shocked. I do think it’s the perfect way to end it. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone else, but I genuinely think it’s the most wonderful ending this story could have.

Reading this book will be a highlight of my reading this year, and I will be ready and waiting for anything and everything else Charlene Thomas writes.

Current thoughts are that I was originally going to give this a 3 star but I added some because I couldn’t see through my tears at the end. I highly and already recommend this for its target audience or for those who don’t mind YA books! This was an emotional greif ride. My reasoning for the rating is that the repetition of everyday was a bit boring for me and I was hoping for something to push the plot other than a new same day. Though I understand why it was set up that way. As well as I didn’t feel as much chemistry for lovers from the mcs. Like they had excellent banter and it was totally believable that they developed such a deep connection but I did have a hard time caring. Individually I wanted to see their journeys but I guess the reasoning for having essentially a Groundhog Day just didn’t hit for me. Even though for me this wasn’t perfect, it was pretty good and I do see many people loving these characters and this story!

4 stars I wanted so much for this to be 5 stars but the ending lost me a little I was a bit confused by it.

Other than that this was a very interesting YA story about a boy and a girl who keep repeating the same day over and over and try to figure out how to get to the next day all while falling in love in the process.

The chapters were very short which made this such a fast paced easy read. This was also Dual POV. I loved how every chapter is time stamped with the date they are stuck in and how many times they've been in that day.

There were so many wonderful quotes in this book the writer did a phenomenal job. Some social themes that are touched on throughout the book are death and grief. Overall I enjoyed this and would recommend I just wish the ending was a little better.

This book is so cute!! Loved how the met, the premise was wonderful. However, it’s truly the writing style that kept me wanting more. The author is so vivid with the details and the banter. It had me kicking my feet and giggling!

“One day” is now and while ITS YOU EVERY TIME is not be a fairy tale, Charlene Thomas has written a magical novel with emotionally raw themes and characters; so much so, that readers will want to re- read this incredible book in order to build their own survival instincts as they navigate through life’s worst moments. ITS YOU EVERY TIME balances grief, regret, and heartache with the hopefulness of fresh starts, first loves, and destiny. Where these dichotomies meet happens to be a small space in time that has stopped completely, and the two main characters, Sydney and Marcus, are forced to repeat the same day, over and over again. As the love between them begins to grow and their own individual self discovery takes place, so does the opportunity for life to move forward. Charlene Thomas may not have written a fairy tale “happily every after” ending, the readers however will turn to the last page and they will believe in the power of fate, especially when that power is harnessed by fully embracing and living the life you were always meant to live.

Charlene’s dive into the nuances of navigating through grief was emotional to read. Without giving anything away, I appreciated the realistic angle things took - with it being a YA story, I thought certain things would be a “cookie cutter”, tied up in a bow type of thing, and I truly appreciated that it wasn’t. Easy read, and good storyline.

This book was everything. A beautifully written novel exploring grief, healing, and young love. I absolutely adored Sydney and Marcus and all the side characters. Every twist and turn in their story and healing journey was captivating, I felt like I was right there with them. Seeing each character heal on their own, but with the support of their loved ones, was wonderful especially for the age group. Having teenagers explore grief and healing is so powerful. This was a 6 star book and I can't wait to share it with everyone I know!

Time loop stories are such a gamble. They can feel repetitive, they can get sort of boring, or worse they can predictable. Syd and Marcus end up being many things, but predictable isn't one of them.

Sydney gets stuck in a time loop on her way to school, and every day she meets this cute boy, Marcus on day 1 they kiss, and he tells her about his famous mom, and every day after she tries to pretend she doesn't know anything about him while falling for him today after today. Without giving anything else away, their story was adorable, unexpected, sad and also heartwarming.

This book WRECKED me! Like are we sure these are high school students because Sydney and Marcus profound words, chemistry, and personalities were phenomenal!!! I can’t wait to get my physical copy! I was intrigued by the beautiful cover but this store was so much more than a fluffy YA romance. The writing was amazing and the story had so much depth. Amazing quotes. Definitely have plans to check out Streetlight People by the author. Thank you for the opportunity to read this early.

Thoughts: This book!!!! OH my this book! Had me laughing, smiling, and crying at the same time! I do not think I’ve enjoyed a book so relatable to me. The definition of grief is not linear and boy did I feel this through Sydney. Having lost my father at a young age, and not know how life would turn out, is exactly all the feelings Sydney seem to express. From the trips to Dunkin’ to trips to breakfast with the most handsome Marcus.
