A bear, a moose and a beaver decide to take a walk together. Little do they realize that a simple walk can turn into quite an adventure. Their actions show bravery and the importance of taking care of each other. The end result has them understanding that what matters is the joy of taking a journey together.
Great message and illustrations- Easy to recommend!
Thanks to Kids Can Press, Nicholas Oldland, and NetGalley for this ARC.

Walk on the Wild Side by Nicholas Oldland was added to my classroom library for students to enjoy during independent reading. I also read this aloud during our morning meeting before team building activities so that students can have a conversation about kindness, friendships, and working together.

Exciting. Interesting, fun little read that's perfect for the age group intended. Really fun read with children who were definitely interested in the cliffhanging bit. Fun read.

This book was on the ok side for me.
What I loved:
the concept of the book - that cooperation is cool and that competition if not done correctly, can be unhealthy (even dangerous), and that sometimes it is most wonderful to simply enjoy the journey together
encouraging diversity - by showing friendship between different animals who otherwise we might not see as friends
What did not cut it for me:
artwork - somehow the illustrations in this book did not speak to me.
abruptness - somehow the story line did not flow smoothly for me.
In summary, as I said, it was on the OK side for me
Thank you to NetGalley for the original digital review copy of the book a few years ago.. I borrowed a library copy to read and give a honest review today.

I really enjoyed this book and I believe that kids will too! I love the style of illustrations and everything was simple, easy to read and enjoyable! There's also some really good messages in there about the disadvantages of becoming too competitive which I think is important.
Great read and highly recommend!
