I downloaded this audiobook from NetGalley last night and spent the evening smiling with Clare and Reed.
They run into each other during a friends wedding in Las Vegas, and get caught up in all the love and lust in the air. They awake in bed, and wearing matching rings!
But, once back to the real grind of life, Reed finds himself pulling back. Of Native American heritage, he feels he has no place in Clare's world.
I was suprised to see this was first published in the 90s, and yet we have so many of the same issues with racism and stereotyping today. This book is cute, heartwarming, but still has many applicable features to the world we live in now.
Thank you to NetGalley Harlequin Audio for the audiobook edition of The Hasty Wedding.

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
Too much toxic relationship/almost deliberate misunderstanding for me to enjoy I guess.

I was caught up immediately with Clare and Reed’s story. Reed always had a crush on Clara, the quiet librarian. He never made any moves figuring that they both come from different worlds. He part Native American, but definitely living mostly in that world. A famous artist with his carved totem poles, a beautiful work of art. When his best friend marries her best friend and Clare and Reed are the witnesses to the wedding in Las Vegas….. well as the saying goes. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas or does it?
I enjoyed listening to Clare and Reed dealing with blockades in their relationship. And finding their HEA. Thank you #NetGalley and #Mira for this ARC, all opinions expressed are mine and mine alone.

Men are idiots. Good Lord. a woman can tell a man word for word what she thinks and wants, and he can just ignore it like a professional.

I think it's important to know that this story was originally published in 1993. It's not a story that would likely be published for the first time in 2025, but I can see it for what it was in 1993 and I'm glad the genre and the writer have both grown overtime. For me, this book really exists based on a miscommunication trope, or lack of communication for better terminology. Personally, I find that trope easily aggravating because the whole book can be wrapped up into a short story if they just talk. The story also focuses on their intense physical attraction and enjoyment of the bedroom in a way that seems like the characters are shy or embarrassed by it even though married. The sex conversation almost always leads to the talk of a baby. Again, sex is not always about reproduction, but I was transported back to the 90s and this made more sense in context. Overall an easy read, well written, but it's not written for a 2025 audience.

Debbie Macomber is a well loved author that I happen to love too. This book was no different. Claire and Reed's romance was darling. 4 stars
Many thanks to Net Galley and Harlequin Audio for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hasty Wedding Honest ARC Review:
Claire is convinced that she is never getting married. She has been in a relationship with Jack for the past three years and things just didn’t feel right.
Claire’s best friend, Erin is getting married in Las Vegas, forcing Claire to put her own relationship concerns aside to focus on her friend’s upcoming wedding. Sparks fly when Claire meets Reed, the groomsman. The two have chemistry right away and find themselves eloping while in Vegas.
As you can imagine, the story takes a bit of a tumultuous turn from there, sending Claire and Reed on an adventure. If they are to be together, they must overcome social obstacles in the small town.
Heartfelt and sincere, this small town romance is interesting and sweet. The main characters are relatable and charming. The narration is done fairly well.
Overall, I enjoyed reading!
Thank you for sharing this ARC with me.

I really wanted to like this title, but unfortunately, I found the narrator hard to engage with. It sounded like an AI narrator and in the end, the narrator‘s voice threw me off so much that I was not able to finish the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the this book. The narrator wasn’t my favorite but wasn’t the worst. It hate a cute plot and I enjoyed the characters

You know exactly what you’re getting with "Hasty Wedding", and that’s part of the charm. It’s a classic Debbie Macomber setup: emotionally wounded people make emotionally questionable decisions, bicker their way toward love, and somehow, against all odds (and logic), find happiness. It’s as predictable as a Hallmark Christmas movie and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
The plot? Clare Gilroy is newly single, emotionally spiraling, and in no state to be making major life decisions. So, naturally, she decides to marry a broody cowboy, Reed Tonasket, after knowing him for about five minutes. (Because what’s a little legally binding commitment between two emotionally unavailable strangers?) He’s got baggage, she’s got baggage, and they quickly realize that maybe marrying out of sheer stubbornness isn’t the foundation of a healthy relationship. Who could have guessed? (Everyone. Literally everyone.) As they attempt to navigate their hastily assembled marriage, they’re forced into the kind of forced proximity shenanigans that ensure maximum tension—romantic, dramatic, and otherwise.
Is it groundbreaking? Absolutely not. But does it deliver on exactly what it promises? Oh, 100%. Sometimes, you don’t need plot twists or deep character introspection—you just need two flawed people making a series of spectacularly bad decisions on their way to an inevitable HEA. "Hasty Wedding" is like rewatching a guilty pleasure rom-com from the ‘90s: it’s predictable, a little frustrating, and yet… weirdly comforting. It won’t change your life, but it might make you momentarily believe that one good argument is all it takes to fix a relationship.

Thank you Netgalley, Debbie Macomber and Harper audio for the audio book.
This was a quick and easy book to listen to, the narrator did an amazing job. As I have found with a few of Debbie's earlier works, the content is a bit questionable and didn't stand up with time. Unfortunately, racism is still very rampant, and an interracial marriage such as this one probably would still be looked down upon by certain people.

With a brand new (awesome) cover, this Debbie Macomber classic hits the spot again! The narrator did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.

Hasty Wedding had the charm and warmth that Debbie Macomber is known for, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The premise—a spur-of-the-moment wedding between two opposites—had so much potential, but I struggled to fully connect with the characters and their romance.
The heroine’s impulsiveness made for an interesting setup, but at times, her decisions felt frustrating rather than endearing. The hero had his moments, but I wish there had been more depth to his development and their relationship overall. The conflict felt a bit forced, and I found myself wanting more genuine emotional connection between them.
Tanya Eby’s narration was solid and kept me engaged. She did a great job bringing the story to life and making it an easy listen.
Overall, this was a light and quick read, but it didn’t have the depth or chemistry I was hoping for. If you’re a die-hard Macomber fan, you’ll probably still enjoy it.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This is a re-release released book from years ago. I feel like it was just ok.

This book was previously published as a silhouette special edition romance. I am hoping I have this book because I really enjoyed this book. I would enjoy reading the physical copy. The narration was fine. I like the fact that Claire was a little spunky. I like my heroine is a little spunky sometimes they can get a little too accommodating so I like the back-and-forth between the characters.

Claire, a quiet librarian who has convinced herself that marriage isn’t in her future, attends a friend’s wedding in Las Vegas. There, she meets Reed, a charming friend of the groom who comes from "the wrong side of the tracks." The two quickly spark a connection, and Claire begins feeling things she never expected, challenging her belief that love and marriage aren’t for her. On the other hand, Reed struggles with feelings of inadequacy, convinced that Claire deserves someone better, and he’s determined to show her that they can't make it work.
The story has its charming moments, especially with the humor sprinkled throughout, but it does have a slower pace that might not hold everyone's attention. The author does a good job with the female voices in the audiobook, but the male voices, particularly Reed's, didn’t quite land for me, which made the flow feel off in places. While the plot is light and cute, it lacks the depth some readers might crave. The romance is sweet, but the story doesn’t delve too deeply into character development or conflict.
Overall, this book is perfect for anyone looking for a light, easy read—something fun without getting too heavy. I would recommend it to readers who want a quick and simple romance with some humor mixed in.

Another early Debbie Macomber I was able to listen to on audiobook. I enjoyed this story and the narrator did a great job. The characters were strong and there were some you liked and some you didn't like. It was a quick listen but a good story from start to finish.

I chose this Debbie Macomber book as my first ever audio book because normally I find her writing enjoyable. While I finished the book, I didn't enjoy it. It has not stood the test of time and I'm surprised it's been chosen to record as an audio book now.
The main characters weren't believable nor likeable.
Thank you #NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much for awarding me this audiobook. I am a fan of Debbie Macomber and her sweet style of writing. This book, however, did not make me feel anything. The character Jack was obnoxious as I assume he was supposed to be. He was over the top with his attitude and annoyance. The theme of the story was repeated over and over. Clare was aggressive with wanting to still be married and Reed was very wishy washy throughout the entire story. Hasty Wedding was a sweet and comforting story.
