This dual POV novella is one of my favorite dips into the science fiction world. As someone who isn't a fan of footnotes - and I've made that clear - I just want to say that these footnotes WORK and they even work with the narrator! I listened to Last Chance to Save the World on audiobook and the narrators were so good! Dara Rosenberg & David Bendena do a phenomenal job with the banter and the cat and mouse game they play! Last Chance to Save the World is the finale of the Chaotic Orbits series and it was such a fun wrap up.

Loved this last installment in this series. A few interesting twists were involved. It was interesting seeing Ada’s home and mother and what Earth looks like. Ada always has some sort of long game heist going and this wasn’t any different. If Beth Revis decides she wants to return to this world, I would absolutely read more.

This was such a great end to the Chaotic Orbits trilogy! Ada and Rian have quite the chemistry and I love the banter between the two of them! With the high stakes of saving the world, will they be able to work together to finish their mission. As with the first two books, the stakes are high and the adventures and plot are fast-paced. I would be okay if Beth Revis wanted to write more in this world!
Before reading this one, I made sure to read the other two right before so that it was a seamless story, but if you are not able to do that, the story picks up right where the second one left us. Thank you to DAW for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

I found this series randomly when I was searching for a scifi novella to read and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. I was pleasantly surprised to find how much I enjoyed this series. This one is the conclusion to the series where Ada and Rian have to race against time so they can succeed in their plan that will save Earth. I loved the main character Ada and her interactions with Rian. The author does an excellent job of developing the characters and the plot in the short format of a novella. Ada is a great character to follow, I loved her personality. She was interesting and it was fun never knowing what her true feelings or intentions were, I was kept guessing the entire time. This was an extremely satisfying ending to the series. I only wish we were getting more stories after this one, I never got bored reading this series and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and compelling scifi story.
Thank you DAW Books for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Last Chance to Save the World was the perfect ending to the Chaotic Orbits novella series. Each of the books, not just this one, are impressively well-developed for their length and kept me wanting more without feeling like there were pieces of the story missing. The 'Elon Musk' character was truly a perfect representation, 10/10 commentary on every aspect of that man. If you enjoy fast-paced sci-fi, heist movies, or just well-developed, witty characters, you absolutely need to read this series. 6/5 stars

Fun quippy little wrap to the plot that's been going on through the last few books, and some neat heist and counter intelligence and gadgets. Got through this in two very quick reads.

A good solid ending to this trilogy with Ada and Rian on Earth to stop the nanobots launching with the software that will hold the restoration of the climate hostage to constant payments to keep it working. Rian still doesn’t believe that Ada is just doing it only so the correct software is updated. He thinks she will still manage a heist as well. Ada does pull off what she plans to do as she has for the previous two books and hopefully Rian will come after her and her heart.

This book was so much fun! On the whole, this is a really fun and fast series, and this last installment does not disappoint in the least. This trilogy is exactly what the synopsis promises, and the books are more novellas than whole-length books, so they are all quite short, and they are action-packed, full of twists and turns, and you just have to follow along at their breakneck pace

I love Ada. She is resourceful, she is always one step ahead (or two, or ten), and she is chaos incarnate. And in this last book, we get to know a bit more of her story and background, because in the previous two books, we just got some hints but nothing substantial. So it was pretty nice to finally get some answers! And Rian is such a good counterpoint to her shenanigans. He is brilliant, and he is a resourceful man too, but she is on another level (especially because Rian is somehow a pawn in her schemes, so obviously she has the advantage).

And for the plot… it was so much fun! We finally see the master plan bear its fruits, and it was great! And, obviously, we have twists, heists, cons, and action. All packed into this pretty short book. It was a really satisfying ending for this series (even if I was hoping for something a tad different in the romance department. But here it’s just me being difficult, because, honestly, I am satisfied with this ending).
I had a lot of fun with this one, and I devoured it (I know, it wasn’t a feat since it’s pretty short, but I was totally engrossed by the reading).

If you want to take a break from more demanding reads and want to read something action-packed, with heists and characters that are always ten steps ahead, with some fun in it and a lot of twists, you should definitely give this series a chance!

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES IN ORDER….if you haven’t read books 1 and 2 then this review will contain spoilers….
Earth needs to be saved and everyone is prepared to watch as the nanobots are released to clean the environment. It would be great except that the company releasing the nanobots isn’t releasing them to clean the environment to make the planet safe to live on again. Rian has worked for the Intergalactic government for so long that he struggles to break away from following all the rules but Ada has convinced him that this might just be the time to break a few rules. Can they make it to Earth in time to deploy the correct nanobots program to save Earth?
I didn’t enjoy the book prior to this in the series because it was a bridge and nothing much happened. I was correct in my assumption that all of the “nothing” were actually important elements for this story. Rian and Ada have to stop along the way to Earth. During that time, Ada continues her plan to use Rian to help her save Earth. At the same time, he continues trying to be a good little worker and do his job. He still plans to arrest her once Earth is saved. Once they arrive on Earth, Rian learns a lot about Ada’s background. The discoveries that Rian makes help him to change and become less of a rigid rule follower. Ada remains the same free spirited, overly confident woman she has been in all of the books. It was interesting to see how the author took little moments from the prior stories and made them essential to this story. I enjoyed learning about Ada’s history. I thought the ending was weak.
You must read this series in order! Ada has a long game that she set into motion in book 1 that comes to fruition in book 3. Both the main story about saving Earth and the relationship between Ada and Rian play out in this book. I ended up enjoying the 3 books all together. It appears that there are more books to come in the series. I might read more from this author in the future if I like the book description.

This was such a good conclusion to the series! I absolutely loved watching the dynamic between Ada and Rian! It was also fun trying to guess at Ada's secret plans, especially now that I've had two books to get to know her.

I love this series and would read ten more books about Ada and Rian!

Thank you to NetGalley and DAW for the ARC.

Enroute for earth with a plan to save the planet, hostile co-conspirators are up against big corporation and government high security in this Chaotic Orbits series finale. Beth Revis has delivered a tight, high-stakes plot and a nuanced female character to draw readers in.

Last Chance to Save the World is the third novella in a serial-style trilogy that must be read in order.

Rian finds himself in league with his greatest nemesis in a joint venture to thwart corporate greed and save the mechanism that will clean up the tired earth’s water supply and, hence, save the world. Trouble is, Rian can only trust Ada as far as he can throw her and he knows full well she is up to more than an altruistic win for planet earth. Ada knows that Rian is True Blue and will capture her as soon as the job is done. It’s going to be tight, but she’s got contingency plans and knows exactly what she’s doing.

In the past two books, this pair meet, skirmish, and everything is leading up to this last big caper. These are adults, but the books have a youthful feel to the main characters. The twists and turns, false leads, banter and adrenaline rush climaxes have been sizzling reading. I couldn’t wait to see Ada and Rian working together and working against each other once again.

Last Chance to Save the World answers many questions. Some I guessed along the way. It also delivered on the heist-style plot. However, that ending… there is a feeling of completion in many ways, but one big thread is left wide open and it will remain a niggle unless there happens to be more coming from the world of this series. I reiterate that there is completion for the main conflict of the story.

All in all, my anticipation was satisfied with a big finish and all the fun larceny Ada provided and Rian tried to foil in the earlier books. Those who enjoy exciting sci-fi, space opera, and heist plots are the target audience.

Oh how the author did us dirty! This book was great until it wasn't, yeah Ms. Revis, what the heck! This was supposed to be the final book and it even says, "The explosive, satisfying conclusion to the Chaotic Orbits novella trilogy sees Ada and Rian breaking into a high-security facility to give Earth a fighting chance at survival. Sexy, fast, fun and funny, this happily-ever-after ending..." Yeah not what we got! I was loving the banter and the characters, the heist, but there was ZERO romance and a CLIFFHANGER ending! (I don't think I have ever used this much capitalization but the point needs to be made!). UGH 2 stars because shame on you all for not giving us what you said you would.

This whole series was a really fun ride. Despite how cynical the main character is, it was actually a pretty touching conclusion to the plot. I gotta admit, I reached the ending and I wanted more adventures with Ada and Rian. I wouldn't mind seeing them again out in the galaxy.

The book left me with two primary feelings. One is the absolutely joy that comes from another Ada Lamarr heist and all of the banter and fun that comes with these novellas. The other is the pure frustration that we were promised both a "satisfying conclusion" and a "happily-ever-after ending". Because I did not get either of those from this book.

If this was not marketed to readers in that way, I would be singing this book praises because it solves some of the pacing issues I had with the second novella and the interactions between Rian and Ada are at their best in this one. That said, I have to majorly drop my rating because none of the over-arching plots (personal or political) are resolved at the conclusion. Please give me more books!

Drink this book: It's not quite Malta but a Sicilian or Corsican white wine will do the trick.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

What a fantastic ending (or is it) to an incredibly action-packed, twisty sci-fi trilogy. I love Ada Lamarr so much and the banter and back-and-forth, will they or won't they romance with Rian is so juicy. With all three books out, this novella trilogy is perfectly bingeable. Despite each book being short, Beth Revis packs in so much world-building and plot twists. My only complaint is that I want more with Ada and this world (our world in the not-so-distant future). Last Chance to Save the World, and the entire Chaotic Orbits trilogy, is among Beth's best work yet.

Thank you to Daw Books for my gifted eARC. My opinions are my own.

The thrilling ending to the Chaotic Orbits Trilogy that starts with Ada in distress, to her crashing a shiny shindig, and now she’s on her way to Earth to hopefully save the world from the mechanizations of a selfish man, and she drags Rian along with her.

Read for:
- secrets and lies
- saving the world
- lots of pigeons
- climate discussions
- breaking into a server

My thoughts:
Ada has fast become one of my favorite manipulator characters. She’s always like 3 to 15 steps ahead of everyone and she has everyone running circles around her, except for one person, who is definitely not Rian. I loved the dynamics between Ada and Rian as he realizes how screwed he really is, and how smart Ada really is. I know the trilogy is done, but this is one series that I hope we maybe get another novella or novel about the characters after the final events of this book.

Chaotic Orbits series by Beth Regis

📖 what’s your current read? I just finished He’s to Die For last night. I’m still reading Karen Rose’s Cold-Blooded Liar & I’ll be starting another ebook while I vacuum this morning too 🤣.

Thank you to the publisher for these complimentary hard copies & the publisher & Netgalley for the ARCs. All opinions my own.

This space series with a superrrrrr slow burn romance is so good, particularly if you’re a fan of very smart heroines pulling off heists.

In The Last Chance to Save the World, out now, we see Ada reunited with Rian—forcibly so, as she has kidnapped him. Both leads are so intelligent & watching them mentally circle the other is so satisfying. Even more so is seeing Ada continually outsmart him.

The heists in this one are heisting, the chemistry between leads is sensational, & I want more novellas just like this, but with a bit more on the romance front.

Check out this novella series for pure fun!

4.5 ⭐️, out now.

[ID: the series is in between other books on a white bookshelf.]

The only thing I don't like about this book is that it is the last in the trilogy :(
The first book was out of this world, and when the second fell a little short for me I was worried, but this book brought the series home with a bang!
