It's a race against time as con artist Ada pulls off her most daring escapade yet. The target: the launching facility of a fleet of nanodrones during one of the most publicized (and secured) events in the galaxy. The mission: upload a code that will delete the secret planned obsolescence code in the nanobots planted by the company that built them, ensuring the bots fulfill their mission to clean the environmental damage on Earth. Ada's convinced government agent Rian to help her, but can she count on him not to betray her at the last minute?
LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THE WORLD is a fun and frenetic finale, even if it does lose a bit of the chemistry between its leads along the way. While all the books in this novella series revolve around individual capers, they've all been part of one overarching arc that we see play out in this last adventure. Once again, we're treated to the unreliable narrator of Ada, who doesn't always tell the reader everything that's going on. Is everything going according to her plan? Only Ada knows until the final chapter plays out.
I do love seeing a well-executed plan, and there's plenty of that here. Seeds planted in previous books blossom into fruition for the finale and there's always one more ace up Ada's sleeve. It's a slick Hollywood heist film ending where the real bad guys get their just desserts.
But I also love seeing evenly matched opponents in these kinds of stories, and that's where LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THE WORLD fell a bit flat. In the first book, Rian was a worthy foil to Ada, with his own counter-moves that she had to outfox. Here, he's little more than helpless eye-candy. Sure, we're teased that he has a plan of his own, but he never surprises Ada or has the upper hand. She's always one step ahead and we know it, which takes away the chemistry between the two characters. The heat in the romance came from the danger of knowing that Rian COULD outsmart Ada if she's not careful, and that's just not showcased here.
From start to finish, the CHAOTIC ORBITS novellas are a rollicking fun time that will leave you grinning. Now that the trilogy is complete, readers can watch Ada's plans unfold from start to finish in just a few sittings. I will always be a fan of Ada's chaotic energy, her constant shifting of conversational topics and goals designed to put her opponents on their back feet. If you're looking for a quick and easy entertaining adventure, these are just the reading snack to bite into.
Note: I was provided a free ARC by the publisher in exchange for my fair and honest review.

I’m really excited to share today’s book review as I got to finally read Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis, the third book in her Chaotic Orbits series. We’ve talked about how much I love the first two and this wraps up everything so well while leaving me wanting more. Rian and Ada continue to be an amazing will they, won’t they couple who are romantically interested but also have to outsmart each other now that Ada has kidnapped Rian to help her stop the tech billionaire Fetor from using his malware infected bots on the citizens of Earth. I’ve been invested since Full Speed to a Crash Landing and I have to say Last Chance to Save the World really is this well written ending with a lot of answers to the questions you have had from the start of the trilogy. Much like How to Steal a Galaxy, Last Chance to Save the World still can be read on its own but I’d recommend reading the whole trilogy to get the most out of it plus all three books are just that fun. They’re also all quick reads and you could probably finish them all within a few days. While this is currently being announced as the end of the trilogy, I hope this isn’t the last I get to read about the adventures of Ada Lamarr and Rian White. If you’re a sci-fi adventure lover who enjoys a good romantic rivalry pairing this book is for you.

Beth Revis became one of my favorite authors the moment I read the first book in this series as an ARC, and I’ve kept up with every release since. Every book has been a five-star read for me, and Last Chance to Save the World is no different. It has everything I love about this series—sharp banter, high-stakes action, a touch of romance, and a good old-fashioned heist in space.
This is a quick series, but there’s a lot to sink your teeth into with each book. The fast-paced storyline rushes you at top speed through space and back to a futuristic Earth—one that’s slowly being ruined by billionaires. (Why does that sound so familiar?)
This book picks up right where the last one left off, with Ada and Rian trying to stop a corporate-controlled disaster from ruining Earth. Their dynamic is still perfection—flirtation, rivalry, and just enough tension to keep things interesting. I especially loved getting to meet Ada’s mom (that reveal!) and seeing Ada finally make progress on what she’s been working toward for three books. And of course, her outsmarting Rian never gets old. His baffled communications at the end? Always a treat.
That said, I somehow missed that this was supposed to be the conclusion to the series, and I was even more surprised that it was marketed as a happily-ever-after. I loved the book, but if this was meant to be a true HEA, I have to disagree—because I finished it thinking, Wait… is there a book four? The ending felt more like a cheeky cliffhanger than a wrap-up, and honestly, I’m hopeful that we’ll get more of Ada and Rian in the future.
Regardless, this book (and this series) has been an absolute blast, and I’d recommend it to any sci-fi reader who loves fast-paced adventure, a little romance, and characters who are always one step ahead—until they’re not.
Thanks to DAW for the e-ARC!

This was a great finale! I loved the tension between Ada and Rian as the dynamic between them is just so amazing. I loved how this wrapped everything up neatly and yet left one small opening for more. I would love to know more about how this world got to be the way it is and could see more books in this world. I really enjoyed the fast pace of this book and how it ties to other parts of the first two books.

Last Chance to Save the World is the third book in the Chaotic Orbits Series by Beth Revis, I enjoyed the first two books - they are fun and fast pace with plenty of witty banter. You can pick up Last Chance to Save the World on April 8, 2025.
Once again we follow Ada and Rian immediately following the second book, and Rian is caught up on what is really going on. The two of them make it to earth, as they hurry to stop the launch of nanobots. The banter between the two protagonists has always been a strength of this series, and this book is no different. That said, by the conclusion of the book I was left wanting more from Ada and Rian romantically.
I enjoyed following this couple throughout this storyline, racing against the clock, it is easy for anyone reading to be rooting for them. My hope is that Revis continues the series beyond this book as the world she has created is so fun and engaging. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for quick reads with entertaining dialogue.
Thank you to DAW Books and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of this book to review.

This one picks up right where the last novella left off, with Ada and Rian racing to stop corrupted nanobots from destroying Earth. Their banter? Still top-tier. Tension? Absolutely there. And Ada being five steps ahead of everyone? Of course.
As an electrical engineer, this series totally speaks to my nerdy heart. Tech-savvy heroines, sci-fi heists, clever twists, and just the right amount of chaos? Yes, please. I continue to love the mix of high-stakes action and flirty tension. The audiobook narration is still great too.
That said, I wouldn’t call this a satisfying conclusion. The plot was wrapped up nicely, but the romance? Still very much unresolved. I needed more closure between Ada and Rian (Just give me something PLEASE!!)
I had a blast with this series overall. If you're into techy smartass heroines, slow burns, morally gray choices, and government agents who catch feelings but pretend they haven’t, this one's for you. Definitely read all three back-to-back for the best experience.

Last Chance to Save the Words starts off right after the events of How to Steal a Galaxy. Ada and Rian are on their way to Earth to save the planet from the release of corrupted nanobots. They must reach Earth and code the nanobots with a counter-virus before they are released. Can they save Earth before it's too late?
Can you love and hate a book at the same time? When it comes to Last Chance to Save the World, the answer is absolutely yes. I loved the last two novellas, and I was so excited for the conclusion of this series. This novella starts out as a five-star read. I loved Ada and Rian's banter and was interested in reading how all of the events from the previous novellas lined up with Ada's plans. However, when it came to the conclusion, I was left disappointed.
The ending seemed to leave on a cliffhanger, leaving us with wondering if we will see these characters in another series or if we will ever get the final conclusion when it comes to the romance between Ada and Rian. I was really hoping for more of an ending, than a conclusion that seemed to leave more questions than answers. Even with my disappointment in the conclusion, I would still rate this series 4 stars overall.
Last Chance to Save the World is out April 8th.
Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media and DAW for the opportunity to review Last Chance to Save the World. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m really lucky to have gotten to read an ARC of this one. Delightful little trilogy. It could and should end here but it could go further…. And I’m weak. I’d read more. They’re novellas so you could get through all three pretty quickly if you need a light heist story with the main character being scoundrel with a heart of gold. Definitely an author I’d keep reading.

Thanks to NetGalley and DAW for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Last Chance to Save the World was a good book to settle the world and the challenges that Ada and Rian were facing. As the previous two books, this one was fast-paced which makes the reading experience enjoyable, to say the least!
Since I've read the other two books, I couldn't pass on the chance to read this one before it was published. However, I was a bit disappointed with the 'romance'. As it was hinted before, Ada and Rian had something going on between them and I was hoping we could get a proper closure, even though I'm not Ada's biggest fan.
I couldn't connect deeply with any of the characters but I was invested in the story line of saving the world, as the title says.

Ada and Rian have one last chance to save the world. She's a hacker with a top secret client and he's a starchy government agent. She's kidnapped him (he claims this is a bad first date) and they are earth bound to stop a mega trillionaire from releasing drones that will cause irreparable damage to the climate and the people of earth. They're working together, except not ... Rian *needs* to turn Ada in, and Ada won't tell Rian her true motive.
On the one hand, I thought this might be the strongest of the novellas plot wise in the series, taken on its own merit. It's fun. There are some longing gazes and hot kisses. On the other hand, it *does not feel like a conclusion* as the blurb indicates. The romantic arc is almost entirely unresolved, and while the plot arc of the book is resolved, the overarching plot of the series has a lot of open threads still.
I have enjoyed this series - bite sized SF novellas built like this really work well as a format for me, and the narration of the audiobooks has been great. It should be read in order.

Ada and Rian have made it to Earth in the final installment in the Choatic Orbits trilogy. It's time to swap out the nanobots for ones that will actually save the Earth (well, hopefully) and preferably escape unscathed. But nothing is ever easy, or goes precisely according to plan.
Throw in Ada's mother, Jane, a flock of pigeons, and some unexpected twists and turns and its another fabulous story from Revis.
I love the way Ada and Rian play off one another, both fighting for the same goal, from different sides. Their interactions are nothing short of delightful. And Jane? Amazing.
The ending did leave me wanting so much more though, so hopefully there is another trilogy in the works!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc in exchange for a fair and honest review.

All right, I reviewed the previous entry in the series and gave it 4/5 because I love the premise but feel like this all could've been one book instead of dragging it out like this. Well, this conclusion is getting the same rating because I really love Ada and Rian, but this "conclusion" didn't resolve anything between them in a satisfying way. There's definitely a "the adventures continue" which I'm fine with because I like the book and there's some developments in this one that made me root for Ada's core mission even harder, but this is not a complete story.
I did love this descriptor of the series antagonist Strom Fetor as "an obscenely imbecilic man who crucified his own family to steal a bigger pot of the generational wealth that ensures he never once has to contemplate the deeply corrupt system of oppression that consistently enables him to fail up."

LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THE WORLD is the third scifi novella in the Chaotic Orbits series centering on Ada Lamarr and Rian White, a con woman and a law man, on opposite sites but with the same goals: to save the world. I enjoyed this conclusion very much to the trilogy. It’s great for any scifi fans who like a food twist and a romance subplot with a lot of smolder and tension.
Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC.

A Fast-Paced, Action-Packed Finale—But I Wanted More!
Beth Revis delivers an exciting and satisfying conclusion to the Chaotic Orbits novella trilogy with Last Chance to Save the World. This installment is packed with action, witty banter, and the long-awaited development of Ada and Rian’s complex relationship. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, I couldn’t help but wish for a longer book with a bit more depth in character development.
Ada and Rian’s dynamic has been full of tension since the beginning, and seeing them finally work toward the same goal—saving Earth—was incredibly rewarding. Rian, who has been at odds with Ada for so long, is forced to reevaluate everything he thought he knew. The revelations about his organization and the potential danger of the engineered nanobot technology add a high-stakes intensity to the story that kept me hooked. Ada, as always, is sharp, resourceful, and unrelenting, but we also see glimpses of vulnerability that make her even more compelling.
The action sequences are thrilling, the world-building remains strong, and the banter between Ada and Rian is full of sparks and tension. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and I loved watching their dynamic shift from adversaries to reluctant allies to something more.
My only gripe? I needed more! The story moves at such a fast pace that I sometimes wished for extra breathing room—more exploration of Ada and Rian’s backstories, more insight into their emotional struggles, and a deeper dive into the larger conflict at play. While the novella format keeps things tight and engaging, it left me craving just a little more time with these characters.
Overall, Last Chance to Save the World is an exhilarating and satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. If you love sci-fi with sharp dialogue, high-stakes adventure, and a slow burn romance, this is definitely worth the read!
(Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!)

I was such a big fan of Beth's Across The Universe series so I had to read this novella series too and it was... fine. To be honest, I found Ada a little annoying... :/ The premise was interesting, worth the small amount of time it takes to read it.

“Last Chance to Save the World” is the epic conclusion to the Chaotic Orbits trilogy. Ada has kidnapped Ryan, and the two have created an uneasy alliance and hatched a plan to reprogram the nanobots so that they will actually clean up Earth’s climate, without the planned obsolescence that Strom Fetor programmed into them. It was very fun to revisit Ada and Ryan’s romantically charged cat-and-mouse dynamic, where it is always unclear who is chasing who. We learn more about Ada’s past and her mysterious employer, and as usual there are plenty of quips and fast-paced action. I definitely recommend this series, and this book was an excellent final installment.

While I enjoyed this trilogy immensely and found this third book very thrilling I will say the romance part was a letdown. The heist was awesome and Ada kept surprising us with her secrets and the plot was great. My main quibble is that the marketing was for a romance which means a Happily Every After but alas, no. Rian and Ada circled each other for 3 books and seemed poised to finally be together in this one but ultimately that's not what happened. So while the heist and adventure had a nice ending, not so much for our main couple.

I love this series - fast-paced, snarky and somehow cozy even though the stakes are high. I can't wait to read more

. A satisfying end to a fun romantic space opera series. The protagonists still don't quite trust each other, with reason, but they are all in to save Earth from a greedy, narcissistic billionaire (sound familiar?). The sexual chemistry is there, the emotional connection is there, and the twisty plot delivers. A fun and fast-pasted read. This is the end of the trilogy, but I hope that this is not the last we see of Ada and Rian. Thank you to DAW and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the first novella in this series, the second novella kind of was a miss for me probably because it went from a cool space action story to an environmental psa campaign and this one feels like that one but slightly better. I feel like beth is trying to hard to make us think that Ada is a major bad ass when really she was only really cool in the first novella. Her character just kind of flounder in the last novella and it feels the same in this one. Plus the romance just kind of puts me off. Really loved the first novella so much but these two let me down. Thanks Netgalley for an early copy.
