I’m really lucky to have gotten to read an ARC of this one. Delightful little trilogy. It could and should end here but it could go further…. And I’m weak. I’d read more. They’re novellas so you could get through all three pretty quickly if you need a light heist story with the main character being scoundrel with a heart of gold. Definitely an author I’d keep reading.

Thanks to NetGalley and DAW for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Last Chance to Save the World was a good book to settle the world and the challenges that Ada and Rian were facing. As the previous two books, this one was fast-paced which makes the reading experience enjoyable, to say the least!
Since I've read the other two books, I couldn't pass on the chance to read this one before it was published. However, I was a bit disappointed with the 'romance'. As it was hinted before, Ada and Rian had something going on between them and I was hoping we could get a proper closure, even though I'm not Ada's biggest fan.
I couldn't connect deeply with any of the characters but I was invested in the story line of saving the world, as the title says.

Ada and Rian have one last chance to save the world. She's a hacker with a top secret client and he's a starchy government agent. She's kidnapped him (he claims this is a bad first date) and they are earth bound to stop a mega trillionaire from releasing drones that will cause irreparable damage to the climate and the people of earth. They're working together, except not ... Rian *needs* to turn Ada in, and Ada won't tell Rian her true motive.
On the one hand, I thought this might be the strongest of the novellas plot wise in the series, taken on its own merit. It's fun. There are some longing gazes and hot kisses. On the other hand, it *does not feel like a conclusion* as the blurb indicates. The romantic arc is almost entirely unresolved, and while the plot arc of the book is resolved, the overarching plot of the series has a lot of open threads still.
I have enjoyed this series - bite sized SF novellas built like this really work well as a format for me, and the narration of the audiobooks has been great. It should be read in order.

Ada and Rian have made it to Earth in the final installment in the Choatic Orbits trilogy. It's time to swap out the nanobots for ones that will actually save the Earth (well, hopefully) and preferably escape unscathed. But nothing is ever easy, or goes precisely according to plan.
Throw in Ada's mother, Jane, a flock of pigeons, and some unexpected twists and turns and its another fabulous story from Revis.
I love the way Ada and Rian play off one another, both fighting for the same goal, from different sides. Their interactions are nothing short of delightful. And Jane? Amazing.
The ending did leave me wanting so much more though, so hopefully there is another trilogy in the works!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc in exchange for a fair and honest review.

All right, I reviewed the previous entry in the series and gave it 4/5 because I love the premise but feel like this all could've been one book instead of dragging it out like this. Well, this conclusion is getting the same rating because I really love Ada and Rian, but this "conclusion" didn't resolve anything between them in a satisfying way. There's definitely a "the adventures continue" which I'm fine with because I like the book and there's some developments in this one that made me root for Ada's core mission even harder, but this is not a complete story.
I did love this descriptor of the series antagonist Strom Fetor as "an obscenely imbecilic man who crucified his own family to steal a bigger pot of the generational wealth that ensures he never once has to contemplate the deeply corrupt system of oppression that consistently enables him to fail up."

LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THE WORLD is the third scifi novella in the Chaotic Orbits series centering on Ada Lamarr and Rian White, a con woman and a law man, on opposite sites but with the same goals: to save the world. I enjoyed this conclusion very much to the trilogy. It’s great for any scifi fans who like a food twist and a romance subplot with a lot of smolder and tension.
Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC.

A Fast-Paced, Action-Packed Finale—But I Wanted More!
Beth Revis delivers an exciting and satisfying conclusion to the Chaotic Orbits novella trilogy with Last Chance to Save the World. This installment is packed with action, witty banter, and the long-awaited development of Ada and Rian’s complex relationship. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, I couldn’t help but wish for a longer book with a bit more depth in character development.
Ada and Rian’s dynamic has been full of tension since the beginning, and seeing them finally work toward the same goal—saving Earth—was incredibly rewarding. Rian, who has been at odds with Ada for so long, is forced to reevaluate everything he thought he knew. The revelations about his organization and the potential danger of the engineered nanobot technology add a high-stakes intensity to the story that kept me hooked. Ada, as always, is sharp, resourceful, and unrelenting, but we also see glimpses of vulnerability that make her even more compelling.
The action sequences are thrilling, the world-building remains strong, and the banter between Ada and Rian is full of sparks and tension. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and I loved watching their dynamic shift from adversaries to reluctant allies to something more.
My only gripe? I needed more! The story moves at such a fast pace that I sometimes wished for extra breathing room—more exploration of Ada and Rian’s backstories, more insight into their emotional struggles, and a deeper dive into the larger conflict at play. While the novella format keeps things tight and engaging, it left me craving just a little more time with these characters.
Overall, Last Chance to Save the World is an exhilarating and satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. If you love sci-fi with sharp dialogue, high-stakes adventure, and a slow burn romance, this is definitely worth the read!
(Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!)

I was such a big fan of Beth's Across The Universe series so I had to read this novella series too and it was... fine. To be honest, I found Ada a little annoying... :/ The premise was interesting, worth the small amount of time it takes to read it.

“Last Chance to Save the World” is the epic conclusion to the Chaotic Orbits trilogy. Ada has kidnapped Ryan, and the two have created an uneasy alliance and hatched a plan to reprogram the nanobots so that they will actually clean up Earth’s climate, without the planned obsolescence that Strom Fetor programmed into them. It was very fun to revisit Ada and Ryan’s romantically charged cat-and-mouse dynamic, where it is always unclear who is chasing who. We learn more about Ada’s past and her mysterious employer, and as usual there are plenty of quips and fast-paced action. I definitely recommend this series, and this book was an excellent final installment.

While I enjoyed this trilogy immensely and found this third book very thrilling I will say the romance part was a letdown. The heist was awesome and Ada kept surprising us with her secrets and the plot was great. My main quibble is that the marketing was for a romance which means a Happily Every After but alas, no. Rian and Ada circled each other for 3 books and seemed poised to finally be together in this one but ultimately that's not what happened. So while the heist and adventure had a nice ending, not so much for our main couple.

I love this series - fast-paced, snarky and somehow cozy even though the stakes are high. I can't wait to read more

. A satisfying end to a fun romantic space opera series. The protagonists still don't quite trust each other, with reason, but they are all in to save Earth from a greedy, narcissistic billionaire (sound familiar?). The sexual chemistry is there, the emotional connection is there, and the twisty plot delivers. A fun and fast-pasted read. This is the end of the trilogy, but I hope that this is not the last we see of Ada and Rian. Thank you to DAW and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the first novella in this series, the second novella kind of was a miss for me probably because it went from a cool space action story to an environmental psa campaign and this one feels like that one but slightly better. I feel like beth is trying to hard to make us think that Ada is a major bad ass when really she was only really cool in the first novella. Her character just kind of flounder in the last novella and it feels the same in this one. Plus the romance just kind of puts me off. Really loved the first novella so much but these two let me down. Thanks Netgalley for an early copy.

Another part in this series where ada absolutely confuses the heck out of Rian. I am definitely enjoying this series, though i do think so far it could have all fit into 1 book. I keep being excited to see what happens next throughout the series.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review

The way I have been obsessed with this series. Ugh. I found myself mildly obsessed with Ada and Rian over the course of book 1 and 2, thus I drew out reading these 176 pages at a snail's pace because I wanted to spend as much time with those two idiots as possible. But man, oh man, do I have feelings.
The story was just as good. The banter was still top notch. The Ada as a mash-up of Commander Shepherd from Mass Effect and purple Hawke from Dragon Age 2 was still a thing and I still loved it. Rian's Garrus Vakarian but much more lawful good was still a thing. But I have to deduct a star for one reason and one reason only and it's a spoiler so I have to place it below:
****** SPOILERS BELOW *******
I needed those two idiots to have their big moment. Fireworks. A culmination of three books worth of back and forth flirting and innuendo. But we didn't exactly get that.
In my little heart, I'm hoping Beth has another book planned because I'd gleefully spend a much longer amount of time reading Ada and Rian's story and listening to them banter.
The Chaotic Orbits series is perfect for Sci-Fi fans who love Mass Effect, banter, and enemies to lovers, or those who enjoy a quick story with themes of environmental protection and rebellion, and also happen to enjoy characters who are lovable idiots.

I love this series so much they're such amazing palette cleansers!
Are they kind of the same plot each time? Yes. Am I stressed by the end and loving the will they won't they vibes that we get the whole time? Also yes. We got to get more of Ada's backstory this time, which I loved. The heist vibes, the rage against the ma, the Castle/Bones copaganda rom com will they/won't they vibes? so delicious.

Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis is a dual first person-POV romantic sci-fi conclusion of the Chaotic Orbits novella trilogy. After kidnapping Rian, Ada is ready to finish her plan to give Earth a fighting chance and bring her and Rian closer together.
Spoilers ahead:
To me, the ending does not follow the romance genre expectations, so I would label this as a romantic sci-fi rather than a sci-fi romance. Speculative Romance can play a lot more with Romance structure than other Romance subgenres, but I think for something to be called a Romance, the two characters have to be shown to be together in a relationship and about to begin their happily ever after and that isn’t quite what happens. I liked the ending, I thought it fit the story and it is by no means tragic or even unhappy, it’s just a few degrees off of my personal expectations for a genre that is so strict when it comes to finales.
I really liked the use of emails and notices and how Rian has little footnotes that reveal his true thoughts amidst all the formal language. I prefer Romance and romantic fiction to be multi-POV because I want to know how every party feels about the other(s), so every time we got those little glimpses into Rian’s inner world, I was quite pleased. It also shows off his personality in new ways that Ada’s POV doesn’t quite capture purely through dialogue and her interpretations of his actions.
As a finale to the overall story, we do get a culmination of everything that the first and second books were leading up to along with a few surprises. We meet someone in Ada’s family and get a bit more worldbuilding in relation to Rigel-Earth. If Beth Revis ever wanted to revisit this universe, I would love a whole book set on Rigel-Earth and the relationship between it and Earth as Earth keeps deteriorating.
I would recommend this to fans of romantic sci-fi and readers of sci-fi heists

Just like the previous two novellas, I found this to be such a fun read!
I really enjoyed the world building within this series, and I’m hoping that Revis will continue to write stories in this world.
My biggest complaint is the ending had me wanting more!
Thank you to NetGalley and DAW for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Today I’m looking at the third book in Beth Revis’ Chaotic Orbits series, Last Chance to Save the World.
Or:
Space Heist Meet Cute Part 3 - Let's Do Some Fun, Sexy Ecoterrorism, or How Rian Met My Mother.
This entire series can be summed up by the phrase Chaotic Orbits as Ada’s chaotic and messy life carreens off everyone she encounters, most notably Rian White, the somewhat stuffy government agent she keeps coming back to in the first two installments. In this book (SPOILERS MAY ABOUND FOR THE PREVIOUS TWO BOOKS), Rian is still with Ada after she kidnapped him at the tail end of How to Steal a Galaxy. Of course, the entire heist of the second book was all about stealing him. Rian, as one of the key government officials working with Strom Fetor to dump advanced nanobots into Earth’s Oceans to clean the environment, is crucial for the success to change the nanobot programming.
Of course, at the end of the second book, we learn that Fetor owns the technology that may be able to clean the oceans and help save Earth, but there’s no “goodness of his heart” here as the nanobots have a programmed expiration date when they will stop cleaning unless Fetor presumably gets paid by the Earth’s governments to keep it up. Ada can change the programming, she just needs to get inside, and that’s where Rian comes in.
Throughout the entire process, of course, is that sexual tension and energy that Revis’ infuses the story with. It’s a fun part of the story, and at times feels like it IS the story, but then we get back to business with Ada and Rian trying to save the planet.
Back on Earth, Ada and Rian are invited to spend the evening with Ada’s mother. The “meeting of the mother” is played well, but just like many instances throughout the first two novellas, its clear that there is something else going on, but in typical heist fashion, we don’t really see all the threads of the tapestry until the end of the story.
I’m not someone who needs a lot of spice in my romance stories, so this worked well for me. The tension is definitely there, ramped all the way up at times, but the spice level is very low. But that’s also what may turn off some readers. For a sci-fi heist novella series, the ending worked for me, but for those coming for the romance and the spicy-ness, there is a lack of conclusion at the end of Last Chance to Save the World. It makes me wonder if Beth Revis has plans for Ada and RIan in the future and makes a choice to leave their future more open-ended.
Overall, I had a really great time with all three novellas in Beth Revis’ Chaotic Orbits series and enjoyed all the heist-y twists and turns, along with the playful sexual banter from Ada and her straight-man Rian. If Revis does keep the characters going in the future, I’d definitely be there for it.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early review copy.
This is just as much fun as the first book!! Ada and Rian trade witty repartee as they infiltrate government sites, each for their own reasons. There's a strong Mr & Mrs Smith vibe here, especially when they kiss before the big event, and they each use that opportunity to check for secret devices on the other's body.
This is not a romance, the focus is on the adventure storyline (which is sort of a heist). This book satisfyingly wraps up the plot arc that began in Full Speed to a Crash Landing, and also tantalizingly leaves the door open for MORE Ada and Rian books, because while this particular heist may be over, they are not done with each other yet.
And the bad guy that Ada fools is a rich blowhard who bought a technology company he doesn’t really understand just to impress people … how can you not love that??
