This is a great start to a new series. Tanner was so sweet and a hard worker who kept to himself on his family's tree farm after turning his life around. He was the kid on the wrong side of the tracks growing up so he kept his crush on Callie to himself, never thinking he'd not only see her again but she'd inherit the farm next to his. Callie inherited her late uncle's farm and she took that as a sign to work on getting her life back on track but needing a lot of help. There was small town charm that Lori writes so well and of course a close knit community.

Thank you to Lori Foster, Harlequin Trade Publication, and NetGalley.
Great book, awesome characters! The characters are well written. The story had some drama, humor, and awesome family. I really enjoyed this book. A quick weekend read.

This was one of my favorite books by Lori Foster. The romance was amazing. I'm glad there was a happily ever after. Definitely a 5 star must read.

This was a fun story! I really loved the dynamic of him loving her from afar when they were kids and her not knowing who he was.
Callie McCallahan grew up in Hoker, KY, but her family moved her away and she never really looked back. But she's inherited a farm from her uncle, and she recently broke off her engagement, so it's the perfect time to start over.
Tanner Patrick runs his family's tree farm, and he's happy in his life. Until the girl he never had a chance with in high school comes back to town, and moves in next door. They were from opposite sides of the tracks back then, and she didn't even know he existed. Now, with her living next door, will they have another chance?
Callie and Tanner had chemistry to spare, and I loved their push and pull dynamic. They didn't always read each other right, and that led to some upset for both of them, but they really cared about each other right from the start. I enjoyed Tanner's family, and Callie's cousin, as side characters and hopefully we'll be seeing more of them as the series goes on. Callie's ex was a piece of work, and her parents weren't much better. It was fascinating watching her navigate all that.
This was an enjoyable read, and felt a bit like an old school Lori Foster book, in the best way! I can't wait for the next one!

This story was such a beautiful romance, showcasing growth independently, learning to trust others, and finding a family outside of your own.
Romance, some spice, animals (which I always love), small town, second chances & found family! Not to mention a hint of suspense in some parts.
Just an amazing romance, and a great start to a new series- I can’t wait for more!

I loved the suspense and the relationship between Callie and Tanner. There are so many other great characters!
Callie moved to the small town her parents grew up and raised her. Her uncle wills his house and land to Callie, let's just say it is not a great place. Years of wear and lots of unkempt spaces. Callie is not used to this kind of living. Yet she is determined.
When Tanner sees Callie, he sees the beautiful woman he has fantasized about forever.
Tanner doesn't sugar coat the work she has ahead of her and says he'll take over the minute she leaves. WRONG!
Callie proves she can make this work, yet strange things keep happening, Tanner suspects the other neighbors.
When Callie has a bad fall, Tanner is there to help her heal and finds that protecting the one you love is worth it.
Just an excellent read!

I enjoyed reading Let Me Be the One by Lori Foster. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I also enjoyed Callie's and Tanner's journey to love. This book gave me all of the feels. I couldn't put my kindle down until I finished reading it.

Callie will keep a smile on your face through most of the book. She is independent and wanting to do life her way. Tanner her neighbor comes along and wants the house her uncle left her. She is determined to make it her own. A wonderful story!

"Let Me Be the One" (Family Ties Book 1) by Lori Foster was a fantastic read. I absolutely loved Callie and Tanner's story had romance, passion, family, friends, interesting and entertaining characters, second chances, small-town life, twists, and more. This was a wonderful start to this new series. I can't wait to read what happens next. I highly recommend it to all fans of romance, small-town life, family, and series.

Funny, Small Town Living, Starting Over.
This was a quiet night read for me. I enjoyed relaxing with this book Let Me Be the One. I think one of the funniest parts was when Callie and her cousin was walking in the woods and it was dusk going back and forth about why Callie should just go back home. Callie says it’s okay, “What do you think some crazed guy is going to chase us down with a chainsaw”? Just about then they hear a chainsaw start up. I laughed.
Tanner her next door neighbor had heard that last sentence and couldn’t resist. He heard that voice in his dreams all through school and even now knows without seeing her, who she is.
This book took off from there, where the rich meet the poor, and all the standards of small town living.
It takes you back to learning to trust again, to love again, and realize that yes sometimes we get second chances.

A sweet (and spicy) story about a guy from the “wrong side of the tracks” pining for the town’s princess. As the years passed, her family moved away, he stayed and never stopped wanting her. Then she inherited the property of his neighbor. She came back to town to claim it and trouble followed. This story is full of family, the family you make, friends and animals. Enjoy!

4.5 Stars
This book had me hooked. I just loved the characters so much. Tanner and Callie had me turning the pages. The tension and banter between these two was one of my favorite parts of the book. Tanner's dog Blu stole my heart. I love that Lori Foster has animals in her books quite often. Addie was an awesome character. Another favorite part for me is the found family Addie, Tanner, and Kam created and still create with the teens they help. Callie becoming their new neighbor puts Tanner's life in a tailspin. She keeps him on his toes because is nothing like the Princess he has had in his mind all these years. I could easily see myself being friends with Callie. I love her sense of humor with a heart of gold. I really disliked Callie's ex. A real piece of work that one! The heart in this one will have you gobbling up the pages. There is a touch of suspense that keeps things interesting. Plenty of secondary characters that just add greatness to this book. It's definitely one you are sad to see end.

Let Me Be the One by Lori Foster
Family Ties #1
Wonderful way to begin a series ~ Couldn’t put it down ~ Put a smile on my face.
What I liked:
* Tanner Patrick: strong, resilient, bright, dedicated, loving, kind, supportive, had an abusive childhood, saved by Addie, paying it forward, facing the crush of his youth and unsure of his future but has big dreams
* Callie McCallahan: intelligent, loving, kind, generous, smart, influencer, broke with her fiancé for valid reasons, strong, resilient, focused, ready to stake her claim on her own live and future
* Blue: German Shepherd, Tanner’s his human, fun presence in the story
* Addie: Foster mother of Tanner & Kam
* Kam: a bit younger than Tanner, foster brother, brother by choice not blood, welder, fun, outgoing, intriguing, want to know more about him
* Glory: Callie’s cousin, insecure, eager to please, bright but cowed, hope she has a book later and hope to read it
* Dirk & Lang Garmet: neighbors with shady reputation but more than they seem on first glance
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* That Callie was able to break away from her parents force field and will be able to pursue her own goals and future
* All of it except…
What I didn’t lie:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* The manipulative family members that put their monetary and social status before the welfare of their children
* Having to wait for book 2 in the series
Did I Enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4-5 Stars

In Let Me Be the One (Family Ties, 1) by Lori Foster we meet Callie and Tanner. They grew up very differently in the small town in Kentucky. Now Callie is back and living in her late Uncles house right next to Tanner and though she doesn’t remember him, he remembers her as his first crush. Could their new proximity turn in his favor or will she see the out of the way, run down house (with snakes in the garage and racoons in the closet) as a reason to unknowingly break his heart again.
I received an advanced readers copy of this book, and this is my honest voluntary review.

Let Me Be the One is book one in the Family Ties series by Lori Foster.
Foster never disappoints!
This is a wonderful read that will pull you in from the very first page and never let you go. Lori Foster grabs the reader by the heart strings.
I thoroughly enjoyed the slow pace of this novel, the well-drawn characters, as well as the growing and changing relationships between them. If you're looking for a sweet, utterly charming, quirky, and well-written, feel-good novel, this one is it.
I can’t wait to read more of this series!

Small town, wrong side of the tracks hero, princess heroine, returning home. Tanner is hard working and protective and Callie is trying to distance herself from her family and cheating ex. Heartfelt and great chemistry between these two. Amazing family ties. Can’t wait for the next one!

Let Me Be the One by Lori Foster is a steamy and heartfelt romance that centers on the dynamic relationship between Ben, a charming and protective man, and Celia, a determined and resilient woman. The story effortlessly weaves passion, humor, and emotional depth, making it an enjoyable read for fans of contemporary romance. Foster’s writing style is engaging, with witty dialogue and richly developed characters. Ben’s devotion and Celia’s vulnerability create a compelling tension that keeps the pages turning. The themes of trust, healing, and finding love against the odds are beautifully explored. If you’re looking for a blend of romance and emotional connection, this book delivers. As a long time fan of Lori Foster, I definitely enjoyed this.

Let me Be The One features Callie as she returns to her home town after getting a shock and needing to figure out her next steps. When she arrives in town, almost everything seems against her, including her neighbor Tanner.
I liked Callie from the beginning. I appreciated how she stood up for herself and decided to forge her own path when she realized that her life wasn’t what she wanted to be. Tanner was equally likeable in his own way.
He comes with his foster family and they pull Callie in and help her on the way.
This is a feel good read. Tanner is a typical Foster leading man- a bit alpha, a bit wounded, but with a heart of gold. There is a bit of intrigue and family drama along with the developing friendships and romance.
The lost 1/2 star comes from a bit of confusion “missing” information around Callie’s parents. They seemed to do a flip flop in attitudes from visit 1 to visit 2 and it just didn’t make sense to me.
I definitely enjoyed Let Me Be the One and I am
Looking forward to Kam’s story.

Callie McCallahan used to live in Hoker, Kentucky but moved off years ago. Her family is well off and she’s engaged. She catches her fiancé cheating and calls it off. Her uncle left her his house in Hoker so Callie and her cousin Glory go to fix it up. Tanner Patrick had a crush on Callie since grade school but he was from the other side of the tracks. Now he helps his family on their tree farm and does landscaping for others in town. Tanner was hoping to buy Callie’s house but it looks like she is here to stay. While cleaning it out and sprucing it up someone keeps scaring Callie. Callie’s parents visit and they pressure her to take her ex back but there is no way she will. Even if it saves her family’s company. Tanner can’t stay away from Callie and she is smitten with him.
Great story. Steamy. Neighbors. A little mystery. I enjoyed this story more than I thought I would. It kept me hooked from the first.
* VOLUNTARILY READ AND REVIEWED FOR NETGALLEY *

Lori Foster is one of the first authors I can remember reading when I originally got into romance novels and she holds a special place in my heart due to the nostalgia and fond memories I have of reading her books throughout my life. I will admit it’s been a long time since I’ve read one of her books, and I’ve never read one as an ARC before, but something about Let Me Be the One had me longing for more. While it was an enjoyable read, I feel like it left me with more questions than answers and also I feel like everything wrapped up too nicely without major relational problems/issues ever being addressed.
