Fast-paced, complex, and with quite the jaw-dropping conclusion, Don’t Open Your Eyes delivered a stunning mix of domestic and psychological thrills. This time around, though, there was the added benefit of a potential supernatural plot line that had me flying through the pages at speed. You see, with multiple compelling POVs, a gripping sense of foreboding, and an underlying anxiety that had me wanting to skim in order to find out all of the whos, whats, and whys, I just couldn’t put this book down—so much so, in fact, that I finished it in under twenty-four hours. I mean, with cliffhangers galore, you’ll relent to reading “just one more chapter” over and over as well.
As for the storyline, in classic Liv Constantine fashion, the plot was riddled with a multitude of delicious plot-shifting twists. While I guessed a few here and there, the bulk of them still delivered surprise after surprise, including one that came right at the end. Due to that and the brilliant precise plotting, I was immersed in this undeniable home run. You see, combining dual timelines with the multiple POVs, I was kept firmly in the dark for most of the novel. Just be prepared to have to suspend all disbelief. After all, the multiple plot lines came together almost too well by the end—although the action-packed last third was still complete and utter perfection.
All said and done, this intense, twisty novel was the definition of a popcorn thriller. But then, it was no real surprise that this writing duo delivered in spades yet again. From the complex family drama to the delightfully eerie feel, I knew it was only a matter of time until the other shoe was going to drop, and when it did—OH BOY! I mean, who doesn’t love a tale diving into haunting dreams that turn into an equally terrifying nightmare? Exploring motherhood, marriage, and the lasting effects of trauma with a deft touch, it emphasized the need to listen to one’s intuition as much as it delivered a fun, pulse-pounding read. Believe me, you need to get this one now! Rating of 4.5 stars.
Thank you to Liv Constantine, Random House—Bantam, and NetGalley for my complimentary digital and physical copies. All opinions are my own.

4.25 stars. Was very intriguing throughout! Kept me guessing what was going on and didn’t expect the ending twist.

Annabelle Reynolds, happily married mom of two daughters, all of a sudden starts having disturbing nightmares .....nightmares that begin coming true. At first, she chalks it up to an overactive imagination. When she tries to intervene before the dreams can come true, her husband tells her she needs to talk to someone, get professional help. Then Annabelle has a dream that her daughter Scarlett is in immediate danger. Someone wants Scarlett dead, and Annabelle has no idea who or why. Suddenly, every choice she makes is fraught with peril, with no inkling of which move could bring this terrifying vision to life. Annabelle wrestles with how much control she really has over her destiny and whether she can change what is meant to be.
I am a huge fan of this author's books. I stayed on the edge of my seat for almost the entire book. It was told in the alternating viewpoints of Annabelle, before (which was Annabelle's past), Scarlett, and The Wife. You don''t find out until almost the end who "The Wife" is, just that she suspects her husband of something, and is trying to find evidence. Scarlett keeps texting or having online chats with someone that she met online & that she hopes to meet in person. Her best friend keeps begging her to at least face time with him because she is afraid her friend is being catfished. Annabelle's nightmares about Scarlett, Scarlett messaging and making plans to meet her new online friend, and tensions riding high in Annabelle & James's marriage because of her premonitions, culmminate in an explosive ending.

You can always count on Liv Constantine to deliver a twisty thriller, with surprises you would not see coming! Don't Open Your Eyes is no exception. This thriller took me on a ride, with an ending I did not expect. Yes, a lot of what goes on in the book can be easily predicted, however, the way it all ties together in the end was brilliant! The idea of Annabelle having dreams that foreshadowed the future seemed a bit odd to me at first, but as the book progressed, it grew on me. I found myself enjoying this unique concept and unable to put the book down. The only thing I didn't love was the dangers of social media theme. I feel like there are so many books based on that topic, and it felt a little basic. Everything other than that was great!
Thank you NetGalley, Ballantine, and Liv Constantine for this read!

Overall this plot has a great mysterious vibe with a few good twists. But it makes me sad to say this is not my favorite Liv Constantine and is about a 3.5 for me.
The dreams were a bit suffocating to read, and some of the twists were more predictable than shocking. The book is entertaining and by no means terrible, but it fell short from the thrilling plots I am used to from this writing duo. I know so many others will enjoy it much more than I did, perhaps it was just a disappointment to me since I tend to immediately love Liv books.
All in all, I do recommend this book!

3.5/5
This is a twisty psychological thriller told through multiple POVs and timelines, and while it didn’t totally blow me away, it still delivered a fast-paced, bingeable read.
The book thrives on its structure: the shifting perspectives, including one from a mysterious unknown figure, helped create tension and kept the pages turning. I also appreciated how the timeline jumps built suspense, slowly revealing layers of backstory while propelling the present-day narrative forward. It’s the kind of story you can fly through in a weekend without even realizing how much time has passed.
Where it faltered for me was in the execution of its twists. While plentiful, many of the reveals felt overly dramatic and more at home in a daytime soap than a grounded thriller. And unfortunately, most of the “shocks” were fairly easy to predict, so if you’re looking to be blindsided, this might not be it. That said, there’s still something undeniably fun about a thriller that leans into the melodrama.
You do need to suspend disbelief to fully enjoy it, but if you’re in the mood for a popcorn thriller this one fits the bill. Just don’t expect it to break any new ground.

Thank you @netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.
I love this author so I was excited to get this book. The story started off slow but the ending it came together really quickly. I was going to go with ⭐️⭐️⭐️ but I really liked the ending so it bumped it up to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This was so good! And twisted! Told from three different points of views and two time periods, the jumps keep you on your toes! Loved it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this advanced reader copy. Annabelle has everything she ever dreamed of - an adoring husband, two daughters plus a fulfilling career. Why is she suddenly plagued by horrible nightmares? Then things from her dreams start coming true! Is Annabelle able to see the future? Or is she just overreacting? Why do her dreams tell her that her husband is up to no good? Who wants to hurt Annabelle’s family? This book kept me engaged, but it was a little ludicrous. I have really liked previous novels by this author, but this wasn’t a fave. Skip it! #bookstagram #whatiread #books #reading #whatsinyourbeachbag #bookgram #bookworm #netgalley #goodreads #advancedreadercopy #livconstantine

This clever psychological thriller involves a woman who starts having nightmares about her future that start to come true.
Annabelle seemingly appears to have everything she ever wanted. Perfect husband and family. Career she loves. Then she starts having dreams where her husband hates her and her daughter is in danger. She eventually comes to realize that some of the dreams are actually visions of the future.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a clever puzzle that was well plotted and moved at a good pace. The ending! GASP. This was great psychological suspense. Twisty and thrilling.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bantam publishers for the digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

Let me just start by saying I have loved all the books I have read by Liv Constantine. She is amazing and always keeps you on the edge of your seat. , This book was excellent. It had me hooked from Chapter 1 . It was a quick read which I love. I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the chance to read this ARC.

Annabelle is living her ideal life, a loving and supportive husband, two daughters and a career that she loves. However she continues to have jarring dreams that seem to predict things that then happen to her or her family. When Annabelle dreams that her older daughter is in terrible danger, Annabelle knows she needs to do something even if it reveals more about her past and the people around her.
I’m a bit torn on rating this one; I wasn’t really enjoying the read not could I get into it until the last quarter of the book. That being said the last quarter was so good that when I was done I felt differently than I had for the majority of the time I was reading. I listened to the very good audiobook with multiple narrators while making today’s Father’s Day brunch and while I really enjoyed listening to the multiple POVs in different voices, when I tried to read this one it felt slow. In the end I just wish the whole book was as good as the last quarter - I didn’t figure out some of the twists (which always makes me appreciate a thriller more). I really enjoyed the other book I’ve read by the author - The Senator’s Wife, so I will try more by the author.
3.5 stars

Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is exactly what I want in a psychological thriller—fast-paced, full of secrets, and just the right amount of over-the-top drama. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The story is full of tension and mind games, and I was constantly trying to figure out who to trust (spoiler: pretty much no one).
The authors do a great job balancing suspense with juicy twists, and there were definitely moments that had me flipping pages late into the night. It’s the kind of book that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that made it all the more fun.
My only small complaint is that some parts felt a little familiar if you’ve read a lot of thrillers—but honestly, I was so caught up in the story I didn’t mind too much.
If you’re in the mood for a bingeable, twisty read that will keep you guessing, this one’s a great pick.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC!

Twisty and lots of suspense!
Annabelle has an idyllic life; a successful husband who adores her, two beautiful daughters and a career that fulfills her. But when she begins to have disturbing dreams that seem to be predicting the future, her world tilts. Her doctor husband chalks it down to stress. Annabelle begins to live in a world that feels fraught with danger and she’s constantly trying to change the horrible outcomes. Is she going mad?
This was a complex plot line with lots going on in the present and the past. There were so many twists in this one I couldn’t predict any of them. Readers are going to love this new one from the dynamic duo Liv Constantine.
Thank you Netgalley, Random House Publishing-Ballantine, and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. This book will be available for purchase on June 17, 2025

If you’ve seen the movie Premonition, you’ll get the same kind of goosebumps from this one. This book has those eerie, what’s-real-what’s-not vibes, with dream sequences that feel way too real.
Annabelle, the mom, is having dreams that hint at the past and the future. The story flips between present tense and past POV, giving us a deeper look at her life, her grief, and a few shocking moments.
Then there’s Scarlette — 15, moody, secretive, texting a mystery boy online. Classic teen drama, but it gets dark. She stumbles across a secret that turns everything upside down. Her younger sister, Olivia (who’s a bit annoying), and dad James (who’s very much the “my way or no way” type), and you've got the perfect mix of tension.
This story pushes you slightly out of your comfort zone — in a good way. I actually liked every character, which says a lot about Liv Constantine’s writing. They’re dramatic, sure, but still believable and kind of fun to follow. The short chapters made it a breeze to read, and the pacing kept me hooked from start to finish.
The plot wraps up in such a satisfying way. Everything connects — no loose ends.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for letting me dive into this gripping ARC.

Wow. What a fantastic read. I wasnt even a chapter in when my heart STOPPED for the FIRST (and definitely not the last) time. Such an innocent question that I would’ve easily answered at 15, but as a mother I knew what it meant immediately. By chapter 6 I was absolutely DREADING where the book was headed, and my instincts were on HIGH ALERT. The entire way through this book I had theories upon theories and every one turned out to be wrong. When the reveal happened, I was surprised, but even more impressed with the entire twist. The theme of the book being her visions and then taking the bumpy journey to try and figure out what the heck they meant. The smaller twists really gave the book that extra punch and the way they were intertwined with the main story and twist was a great addition. This book had me in a chokehold and I read it in 2 days. The only reason I am not rating it 5 stars is because for some reason, I still felt some sort of unfinished business when it came to Randy and I felt that after the reveal about Lucas, that we might hear or see present time Randy and not just on a flash back. So I was a little disappointed with that, but overall a really good read. This was my first book by Liv Constantine and I am very excited to read more of her work! Thank you Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and Liv Constantine for the ARC copy of Don’t Open Your Eyes.

I thoroughly have come to enjoy Liv’s books, and this one was no different. I was very invested and had to find out what was going to happen. The ending seemed to wrap up really fast, but I still enjoyed it very much!

Don’t Open Your Eyes is the newest novel by Liv Constantine. In this twisty thriller, Annabelle begins to have dreams that start to come true. In order to protect her family, she tries to make different choices to change the outcome of what she saw in the dreams.
I have read several books by Liv Constantine and this did not disappoint. It was fast paced and had several unexpected twists. Definitely a good summer beach read!

Absolutely loved this thriller! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5. I was fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley and the authors in exchange for an honest review. The constant twists throughout the book kept me trying to anticipate what was coming next. As is typical of most of their reads, I was still surprised at the ending, which is hard to do! I enjoyed the multiple POV, dual timeline, and use of the unreliable dream sequences throughout the book. Overall, a great thriller for the start of the summer.

I feel braindead after reading this book so the best I can do is bullet points:
-The writing was so incredibly bad.
-The main character Annabelle was insufferable.
-The pacing of the story moved at glacier speed, is this considered a thriller or a domestic drama??
-The ending was unreliable. I could not handle the way everything unfolded.
Is Liv Constantine still an auto buy author for me? Yes, but yeesh, this one needed a heavier edit.
