I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book was full of twists and shocking surprises and kept my attention the entire way through. It had a great cast of characters and the character development was fantastic. The different POVs in each chapter really helped me follow the full plot and the “Before” chapters helped me understand the history. I finished this book in one day because I was so eager to see what would happen in the next chapter. Fantastic read especially for summer!

Annabelle has a picture perfect life with a great career, stunning home, and a great husband and two beautiful daughters. But when she starts having vivid dreams that start coming true, she starts to panic. Especially when they start to be of her family in dangerous situations,

Liv Constantine is an auto-buy for me. This book was not my favorite of her, but not my least favorite. One story line that really bothered me was that I did not understand why Annabelle wouldn't just tell her husband about the dreams upon waking so she could prove she was dreaming before events happened? That made no sense and probably could have solved a lot of issues. I also felt like the ending got a little crazy, but overall I found the story to be a quick, enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

If Liv Constantine writes it, I’m not only going to read it but DEVOUR IT!!

This book was just as good as every other book that she has written. The author has a way of pulling you into the story and not letting you go until the very end.

Every twist I thought I had guessed… was wrong. The twists were twisting and I loved it!

Liv Constantine is the queen of the unreliable narrator and you never know if her main characters are crazy or not.

Liv Constantine does it again! I couldn't flip pages fast enough and just when I thought I was catching on... wrong! Annabelle appears to have a great life - a husband who wants the best for her, two beautiful daughters, and a job she loves but not everything is at appears and sometimes a dream can be more than just that...

Thank you Netgalley, Random House Publishing and the author for the opportunity to read this book.

Annabelle is having dreams which she alarmingly has had before. Shockingly, these scary dreams tend to be premonitions to future events. When her dreams start to become reality, and begin to involve her family, her life begins to unravel. WIll her family believe her or just think she is crazy?

Liv Constantine has written another wonderful thriller. It kept me guessing from beginning to end and is perfect for a thrilling beach read.

Thank you NetGalley for this thrilling read.

Do you love a Lifetime movie in a book? Well, you’re in luck with this one. I just wish I hadn’t seen this one so many times. But if you love an easy read, clean pacing and transitions with familiarity, this could be a good thriller choice.

Annabelle has been balancing her life perfectly between doting mother and husband and career woman. Until the dreams and something sinister seems to be foreshadowing and the memories of her past begin to haunt. There is something about these dreams that seems to be more than just that, and she has to wonder, can you really change your fate?

The foreshadowing was way too on point, as I would have liked a little more subtlety and not have been so obvious. Told in the point of views of both Annabelle (present and past) and her daughter Scarlett, they each felt like their own voice and personality and the author did a great job of creating personality and differentiating the 3. Each persona did have a little too much predictability- Annabelle the guilty mom personality for also wanting a career and Scarlett, feeling the pressures of social media. Almost like a big yawn and you could skip a lot of it and still get what’s going on. Scarlett was a little all over the map age wise with her narrative- at times she came across as too childish. Like she was supposed to be 15 but argued like a 10 year old.

The writing is pretty flat and leaves more to be desired. I wouldn’t be motivated to pick up another book by the writer.

Such a perfect psychological twisty thriller!! This book hooks you in the first couple of chapters as we are learning about Annabelle and her seemingly perfect life. She has a career she loves, two daughters and a perfect husband. She starts having nightmares that the more she thinks about them the more they start to become real. Her oldest daughter Scarlette has met someone online and has actively started talking with him. This brings in another layer to the storyline. It will keep you on the edge of your seat as this story unfolds.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced and trusty thriller! Annabelle appears to be a really good mom, and her husband, James, seems to be a good father. Then bizarre things start happening, and everything is all tipsy-turvey! This was a good, quick read!

Another solid book by Liv Constantine!

Annabelle has everything she’s ever wanted. A devoted husband, two wonderful daughters, and a career she loves. She couldn’t be happier. So why is she suddenly plagued by disturbing dreams of a future where she hates her husband and her daughters’ lives are at risk? At first, she chalks the dreams up to an overactive imagination. But when details from her dreams, details she couldn’t possibly have predicted, begin to materialize, she realizes these aren’t just dreams but rather premonitions of a terrifying future.

Told from multiple POVs, this book instantly hooks you and doesn’t let go! Finished in just two sittings. I found myself unable to put this one down. Being a family drama and a psychological thriller, this book had me thinking the whole way through. A bit of a slow burn but that didn’t stop me from needing to finish it asap. And that ending! Extremely satisfying. I will definitely be recommending this book to all who come into my bookstore!

Don't Open Your Eyes is a tense, twisty thriller that kept me guessing until the very end. Liv Constantine does a great job building suspense and dropping just enough clues to keep you hooked without giving too much away. The pacing is fast, the stakes are high, and the characters—while not always likable—are layered and fascinating. I especially enjoyed the psychological elements and how the story played with perception and trust. A couple of the twists stretched believability a bit, but overall, it was a gripping and entertaining read that I flew through. Perfect for fans of domestic suspense with a dark edge.

Wow!! Let me pick my jaw off the floor! Have you ever had a dream come true? Or do you believe that dreams hold messages?

Annabelle is a social media marketing specialist who appears to have a perfect life - she’s married to a devoted doctor and they have two beautiful daughters. Her life takes a turn when when she begins having dreams that soon feel like premonitions... they keep coming true. She begins questioning her entire life’s choices. The scary part are the dreams that her husband is hiding something, and that her older daughter Scarlett may be in serious danger. Told from multiple points of view and timelines, we read as Annabelle tries to figure out what her dreams mean and if she’s able to change fate? As her present life starts to collide with the future in her dreams, she wrestles with how much control she really has over her destiny and whether or not she can change what is meant to be. I loved the entire book it was such an interesting concept!! I loved the mystery!

In true Constantine fashion, this is full of twists and turns throughout! I predicted several of the central ones but still found this propulsive readable and fun!

Don’t Open Your Eyes was a fast paced story with some great twists! I loved the short chapters- they kept me reading “just one more chapter” whenever I picked this book up. I found the writing style to be a little bit simple, which is not a bad thing, but it felt choppy at times. There was one character in particular who was evil for no apparent reason, which is hard to connect with and understand. I would have liked to know more about this character’s past and why they are the way they are, rather than them being used as a plot device. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Read Completed 6/23/25 | 3.75 stars | Book #92 of 2025
Thank you to the publisher, Penguin Random House, for approval of the advanced ebook via Netgalley. Access to this did not influence my review.

This was a fun read! I ended up giving it 3.75 stars instead of 4 because I actually feel like it would have been stronger without the dream sequences. They were a little sloppy (I guess intentionally so) but for me, it just kind of made things watery when I could have just had a straight-up thriller without this other aspect to it. I don't think it really added enough to the story to be necessary.

The rest of it was good! I was definitely interested and engaged the whole time. I really liked how things twisted and turned, and even as the book was winding down, there was still more to come. I really enjoyed how everything wrapped up, which isn't always an easy feat in a thriller.

I liked the characters and how messy things were. There was a lot going on there, some a little less realistic than others, but I can let things go for the sake of it being fun and twisty.

I'm happy to have enjoyed this one! I'll see if my feelings have me bringing the rating up to a 4. I just really don't think the dreams, which is the hook for the book, were really even necessary.

This book had my attention from the cover to the very last page. Very suspenseful, nail bitting, and it kept me at the edge of my seat. This story was very well written, it didn't leave no stone unturned and it all came together nicely. Liv Constantine is now on my go-to author's list‼️

This book was a fun and fast-paced ride that I'd recommend to fans of psychological thrillers and past/present timelines. The pacing was great and kept me engaged from start to finish. I really enjoyed following the characters and their development. The twists were also really good! Some I predicted but still enough of a surprise to keep me hooked!

I did end up giving the book 3/5 stars because there were a few areas that weren't fully fleshed out and didn't add up in the end for me, particularly some of the character resolutions and I feel like more could have been explored with the premonitions.

I listened to this on audiobook and loved the narration. I definitely recommend this book as an audiobook.

*Don't Open Your Eyes* delivers a gripping mix of domestic suspense and eerie premonitions. Annabelle’s perfect life unravels as her dreams begin to mirror—and predict—real danger. Liv Constantine keeps the tension high and the pages turning. While a few twists felt a little predictable, the central mystery and emotional stakes make this a compelling read.

Thanks for the review copy. I really liked The Last Mrs. Parrish series but this one fell a little short for me. I’m sure others will like it more than me. I just wasn’t invested in the characters.
