Is it a dream, a premonition or am I just crazy? Annabelle Reynolds has vivid dreams that seem to be telling what the future may hold. Can the future be altered if she knows what’s to come? I’ll start by saying I’m a huge Liv Constantine fan, her books are one of my non-negotiable must buys but I did not enjoy this book. I found the main character to be very annoying.. I didn’t really care for the different point of views of the characters and I spent most of the time reading thinking to myself what is the point of this and where is it going but also not really caring. I feel like it reads like family drama more so than psychological thriller. I received this ARC from NetGalley for free.

LOVED this book! It kept me on my toes the entire time. My favorite kind of thriller is the kind that has me gasping out loud, and this story truly delivered.

Book Review: Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine
(This review contains spoilers)
All I can say is wow! In Don’t Open Your Eyes, we meet Annabelle Reynolds, an accomplished advertising executive whose life takes a chilling turn when she begins having vivid dreams that predict the future — and the future looks grim. As these dreams start coming true, Annabelle must act quickly and cleverly to prevent tragedy.

One of the most gripping dreams shows her daughter, Scarlett, in danger. Scarlett has formed an online relationship that introduces several unexpected twists and complications. This plotline really adds depth and suspense to the story, keeping you guessing about who can be trusted.

The book is fast-paced and full of tension. I was completely drawn in and found myself racing through the chapters to see what would happen next. It definitely kept me on my toes.

That said, there were a few parts that felt unnecessary or underdeveloped. For example, the subplot involving Annabelle’s mother suffering from Alzheimer’s, while emotional, didn’t tie into the main narrative as strongly as I expected. Similarly, the storyline about Annabelle’s estranged father — who abandoned her and then later sued for back child support — felt like it was setting up for a bigger connection to the main plot, but it didn’t quite deliver.

Despite those small criticisms, this was an overall great read. The concept was unique, the execution was compelling, and the ending was satisfying. I was still thinking about it after I finished.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Loved this psychological thriller from Liv Constantine, I knew as soon as I got approved for it I had to start reading it ASAP. I devoured this book over a few days while away at NTI. Annabelle has the life she always wanted, a loving husband and two little girls. However at night she starts to have nightmares that freak her out, but when the nightmares start to come true she begins to worry they are trying to tell her something more sinister is happening. This was a great read and very much enjoyed the whole plot. As usually Liv Constantine is a master of the plot twist and this book had my guessing until the very last page.

Liv Constantine is one of my favorite authors! I loved her works The Senator's Wife and the Last Mrs. Parrish. I had reservations going into her new work thinking she possibly couldn't exceed my high expectations from her last book. But here we are! She did it again. I DEVOURED this book. I took a personal day off work to read this book uninterrupted. It was truly an addictive thriller that hooks you from page one. The twists had me racing to the end. Some of the twists were predictable. But I did not see that ending coming! I loved the multiple POVs, timelines, and semi-short chapters. A lot of thrillers seem to slow down or plateau through the end - making them tough to finish. This book was evenly paced and kept me hooked from the start. Thank you, NetGalley and Bantom Publishing for the ARC!!

Annabelle has finally reached a good point—a devoted husband, darling daughters, and a good job. Then she starts having prophetic dreams, but no one believes her. While trying to make sense of that, her eldest teen daughter meets a boy online and arranges to meet him. Annabelle's life is turned upside down within days and will never be the same.

The storytelling switches between Annabelle now, Annabelle in the past, and Scarlet. Enter some pretty wild twists and turns, and you have a perfect beach read thriller. I read this in one sitting, keeping the pages flying. However, I wasn't totally sold on the ending.

Ballantine Books / Random House provided an advanced reader copy via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

A Wild Ride From Beginning to End

Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine completely pulled me in—I seriously couldn’t stop reading. Just when I thought I had a handle on what was happening, another twist would come out of nowhere and totally throw me off. The suspense kept building, and it never let up. If you’re into psychological thrillers that keep you guessing the whole way through, this one’s definitely worth picking up. I loved every minute of it!

👁️ Multiple POVs
👁️ Dual Timelines
👁️ Secrets Galore
👁️ Psychological Thriller

This one is my new favorite book by Liv Constantine. It was easy to devour - I lost sleep wanting to get through this as quickly as possible. 👏

Really enjoyed the dual timelines and multiple POVs. I worried a little on the pace at the start, but the build was well worth it when it came to the reveals. Full of secrets and full of lies. You question what’s real. Super entertaining - definitely run don’t walk for this book.

When Annabelle is awake, she has it all. When she goes to sleep everything is wrong.

But then the things in her dreams start to happen when she is awake. What does she do? Can she save herself? Her family?

This book is certainly the things that nightmares are made of!

Ok now this one sucked me in HARD!! I absolutely loved this story and every time I thought I had it all figured out another twist would come my way and throw me off my game. Fast paced with amazing characters and tons of great drama and suspense.

This book was so good! There were so many questions that formed about Annabelle's life as the chapters alternated between her present life, her daughter's present life, her past, and 'the wife'. The chapters about her present included dreams that she was having - and some of the events were actually happening! She struggles with trying to protect her family from the incidents she dreams of, but it often doesn't work out as planned. Her past, present and dreams all come to a conclusion towards the end, so the reader finally is able to figure out what has happened, but a few more chapters and the twists create more questions. A great, quick read!

Finished this in 24 hours but could have done it in one sitting. FANTASTIC read!

Quick summary:
Annabelle has the seemingly perfect life- a successful career with social media marketing, a beautiful home, two daughters she adores and a husband who worships the ground she walks on. It seems that she should be able to lay her head down at night and rest peacefully, but that is not the case. Annabelle has recently started waking up in a panic, as her dreams have become more real and increasingly more disturbing. What's even more concerning is that her dreams are starting to play out into her real life, down to the exact detail. Are her dreams warning her of what's to come? Does she have any control of changing the outcome? Will anyone even believe that her dreams are predicting the future? Her husband, who also happens to be a neurologist, thinks she needs to get back in with her therapist. He is convinced that the stressors in her life are just too much and there's a reasonable explanation for her dreams. Annabelle knows better and she won't just chalk this up to stress + anxiety or an overactive imagination, especially not when her dreams are showing someone in her family is in danger.

This was a book that I did not want to put down. The twists completely blew my mind, nothing happened that I expected might. It was all so much better! Liv Constantine knows exactly how to deliver a gripping thriller. At first, I was getting some paranormal vibes & wasn't excited because that's not what I was expecting with this book. If you feel that way while you're reading, trust me when I say to hold on a little longer because it will all come together, and you will likely NOT be disappointed. The last few chapters are completely packed with twist and turns you don't see coming.

I cannot give enough praise for Don't Open Your Eyes .
Expected to release on 6-17-25, I highly suggest making this one a priority read! Thank you NetGalley, Liv Constantine and Random House Publishing- Ballantine for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

I received an ARC of this book from Random House via NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback. The sister team of Liv Constantine is always on my to-read list, so I was excited for an advance copy!

The first thing I will say is do not read the table of contents, as it contains a spoiler! I happened to notice it in passing and was a little disappointed. Maybe it will be changed for final publication.

This book was full of twists, most of which I did not predict. The authors definitely portrayed several parts - Scarlett's online friend, the character of Randy - in a way that you would make clear assumptions which were then not necessarily true. I enjoy being tricked in this regard.

The whole "prophetic dreams" thing is a bit too supernatural for my tastes, but with the rest of the realistic aspects of the book, it worked.

There were a few loose threads that I thought would be resolved. None are major to the plot, but I would have like to see them tied up.

The last quarter or so of the book kept me up late reading to find out what was going to happen!

Another hit, twisty, psychological thriller from this author. Annabelle Reynolds seemingly has a perfect life, yet she is plagued by dreams that she hates her husband and her daughters' lives are at risk. But then the dreams start to materialize. Her present life is colliding with her dreams. Can she change what she has dreamed? A not to be missed read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars
Book Review: Don't Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine

I will never forget this book—not only because it was an incredible read, but also because it was my very first ARC! A huge thank you to Random House Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this thrilling story before its release.

Don't Open Your Eyes is a masterfully crafted thriller with a truly original plotline. From the very first page, I was completely hooked. The story follows Annabelle, whose eerie visions become key to unraveling dangerous secrets and protecting her family. I loved how she leaned into these visions—they gave powerful insights into who she could trust and who was hiding darker intentions.

The suspense is relentless, the characters are compelling, and the twists will keep you guessing. If you’re a fan of thrillers, this book is absolutely for you. You won’t want to put it down as you watch the story unfold in the most unexpected ways.

Highly recommend!

First thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing group Ballantine and Bantam for allowing me to be an early reader.

I enjoyed this book as it was twisty but after the ~70% mark I found my self asking if it was a good story or just complicated. In this book we meet Annabelle who begins to have seemingly prophetic dreams about her life and events surrounding her family. These dreams lead her to believe one of her daughters is in danger and now Annabelle is trying to prevent those dreams from coming true. We also learn more about Annabelle’s past with her husband and how it informs the future.

The ending seemed extremely rushed after the 70% mark but the dialogue started to suffer very early on. The conversations just did not feel authentic or believable. By the time the “villain” is revealed it feels a little deus ex machina and divorced from the original plot. The dreams also fizzle out and there was only a weak nod as to why they were happening in the first place. Up until the 70% I was really enjoying this book because I couldn’t predict where we would go next, however as the story resolved it was just a complicated mess of telling rather than showing that left the reader feeling unfulfilled.

There was also one continuity error that will hopefully be addressed before publishing.

Overall this was a fast paced easy read that left me wanting either a less complicated cast or could possibly be improved with some further editing.

Did I finish this in one day? Yes. Was it great? Also yes.

This is another twisty thriller from Liv Constantine I have really grown to love their books and was really impressed with this one. I didn’t see the twists coming and I just had to keep reading to see what would happen next.

This twisty tale follows Annabelle who seemingly has the perfect life; perfect husband, perfect kids, perfect job, nice house in Connecticut, except for one thing, she’s having these disturbing dreams and the dreams are coming true. She has a dream that her teenage daughter Scarlett is in danger and feels someone is after her. We get Scarlett’s perspective as well, and she is talking to a mysterious man online named Ben. Is Ben the one after her? Is Annabelle’s dream premonition going to come true? You will have to read to find out!

I would highly recommend this thriller for a summer read. It’s a quick popcorn thriller that you can’t put down!

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
