Other than the main character having some sort of psychic dreams, nothing much happens in the first 80%. The last 20% was a series of ridiculous events. It felt overly dramatic, like a soap opera in book form. Some twists and turns but mostly predictable.

I’ve never read a Liv Constantine book that did not leave my mouth agape at the ending. What kind of trauma did these writing sisters experience because TWISTED doesn’t begin to describe the way they think.

I don’t want to spoil the experience for anyone, so I’ll leave this review vague. Annabelle is having horrible nightmares. When those nightmares start predicting the future, Annabelle realizes she has a big problem. A really big, bad stuff is coming problem. She has no idea how bad it’s about to get.

As with all Liv Constantine books it’s best to go into DON’T OPEN YOUR EYES with as little background as possible and let the story develop around you. Multiple POV and dual timelines come together in an entirely unexpected way to leave the reader stunned as twist after twist brings this book to a powerful conclusion.

You’ll zip through this book making it a perfect summer thriller.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

That Twist Left Me Speechless!

Wow—Don't Open Your Eyes completely pulled me in. I thought I knew where the story was going, but Liv Constantine totally flipped the script on me. The twist came out of nowhere, and I literally had to stop reading for a second just to take it all in. I did not see that coming!

I loved how the tension built up little by little. The characters felt real, and I kept second-guessing everyone—which made the big reveal even more shocking. This book reminded me why I love thrillers so much. If you enjoy fast-paced reads that mess with your head in the best way, you’ll definitely want to pick this one up. I’ll be thinking about it for a while!

Annabelle Reynolds is being plagued by nightmares. But are they nightmares or premonitions? When her dreams start becoming real events, Annabelle is compelled to try to prevent the scenarios from her night visions from coming true. What would you do if you dreamt something you feared would hurt someone you know? Would you try to intercede? As Annabelle says at the end of the book, "If you're meant to drown, it won't do any good to move to the desert.".

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, so I had high expectations for this one, but I think the title set my expectations up for a different type of story. The book had a slow beginning, and I was waiting for the real suspense to kick in, which it did during the last 20% of the book. I thought I was reading a book written by the dual authors Valerie and Lynne Constantine, but according to the About the Author, this was written by Lynne, so I don't know if that made the difference.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an advance reader's copy.

Thoughts 🧠
I’m always a fan of Liv Constantine’s writing, and this one was another excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️read! Their books are consistently thrilling, suspenseful, and fast-paced—I’m hooked from the first chapter and can’t stop until I reach the final twist!

Summary 📝
If your dreams started predicting the future, what would you do? Try to change the outcome? Let fate unfold? Or wake up and forget it ever happened?

That’s exactly the nightmare Annabelle finds herself in. Her dreams start coming true days later, and she becomes understandably obsessed with protecting her family—especially her two daughters. But when she turns to her neurologist husband for help, he dismisses her concerns and recommends therapy. She’s left feeling isolated…until a new man appears in her dreams. A man who listens. A man who makes her feel safe. A man who soon becomes her next client 🤯

Meanwhile, her 15-year-old daughter Scarlett is keeping a dangerous secret of her own—and Annabelle and her husband are sitting on a pretty explosive one too.

Can Annabelle’s dreams guide her through the web of lies? Or will the truth disappear like a dream at dawn?

Thank You🙏🏼

Don’t Open Your Eyes is a fast, paced thriller that will keep you turning pages late into the night. It follows a woman who wakes up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there, and from that moment on, nothing in her life is as it seems.

The story is full of secrets, shocking twists, and characters you’re not sure you can trust. Liv Constantine does a great job keeping you guessing—just when you think you know what’s going on, something new is revealed. Like all their books, this was another winner for me!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! I automatically had to read this book knowing how amazing Liv Constantine’s “the last Mrs Parrish and the next Mrs Parrish” are, and I am so glad I read this!

I loved the short chapters, different POV, and knowing one or more of the characters were a sociopath, made this book unputdownable!

Absolutely loved the story and Annabelle! She had the perfect family, perfect job and dreams that kept the pages turning! I read this book in one sitting! Absolute must read, run, don’t walk to start reading it

Don’t Open Your Eyes is a fun and unique read for thriller lovers. The story follows Annabelle, successful social media marketing pro and happily married mother of two. Her happy world, however, gets turned upside down when she starts having dreams that turn out to be premonitions… and she starts fearing for her children’s lives.

I used to like the TV show Medium, and this definitely had similar vibes, which made it a fun read for me! Annabelle is a likable character and the book moves quickly but clearly through different perspectives and timelines. Despite all of the twist and turns, I did find it a little predictable, but overall I still think it’s an enjoyable read!

Thank you to the author, publishers, and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an advanced reader copy of Don't Open Your Eyes in exchange for my honest review.

I always enjoy the style of Liv Constantine's books....surprised she went solo on this one.

I started to figure out certain things but there were a few surprises too.

Other than the main character having sort of psychic dreams, nothing much happened in the first 80%. The last 20% was a series of ridiculous events. The dreams felt like a plot device and a way to draw readers in. They were pretty useless to the actual plot, other than the main character dreaming about the twist. Which we could've figured out without that. I've heard that these author's other books are a lot better than this one, so I'm still looking forward to reading those.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. Liv Constantine is back with a story of a woman whose vivid dreams come true. Annabelle's seemingly perfect life starts to fall apart when she begins having dreams - of a car crash, a daughter in danger, a man not her husband - that begin to happen in real life. This is a fast paced but predictable typical Constantine book - thriller lovers will fly through it, but it's not the authors' best. Also not for anyone wanting to avoid pregnancy loss or child death.

Annabelle has the perfect life on paper, with a loving husband, wonderful kids, and great career. Things begin to change when she starts having dreams that turn into premonitions for things that are going to actually happen in her real life. The premonitions add a bit of a supernatural aspect to the book, which isn't my cup of tea. I do wish I knew it was going to have a supernatural aspect before reading it. I enjoyed the different POV's. The ending was a bit messy as well, which didn't leave the best taste in my mouth. I haven't read anything else by this author, but this book doesn't really make me want to read others unfortuantely.

Don't Open Your Eyes will have you questioning your dreams and everything you believe is true. When Annabelle starts dreaming of events that occur she feels her dreams are telling her that danger is right around the corner. A plane crash, a devastating accident-all come true. Her husband, James, a practical neurologist dismisses the dreams as anxiety and encourages her to get help. At the same time, their 15 year-old daughter discovers her parents are keeping secrets and now she has one of her own. As the past begins to collide with the future, the layers are pulled back and no one is who they say they are. Told in alternating timelines, with Annabelle's past heartbreak detailed, clues are provided that lead to a horrifying discovery. Liv Constantine is a master storyteller in the domestic thriller genre. Pick this one up! 4.5 stars

Looking for a thriller this summer to binge? I’ve got the book for you! Annabelle lives with her husband and two kids. She starts having dreams that come true. She tells her husband but he doesn’t really believe her and think she’s crazy. She’s a working mom, trying to be there for her kids and for her job. She gets a new assignment and meets a man from her dreams. She has to figure out what’s going on and if her dreams do predict the future. One of her dreams she sees her daughter hurt. The book has three point of views . Mostly her and her daughter, who has another whole story we are learning about. I enjoyed this and its short chapters. The end got a little messy but I did enjoy this. 3.75 ⭐️

Don't Open Your Eyes is a psychological thriller with twist and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Annabelle Reynolds has strange dreams that include premonitions. When the premonitions become real, the book takes a turn and twist and turn and twist. Great book.

This was really good! I was hooked from the beginning. It had short, addictive chapters that are easy to binge. The story flows nicely and weaves its way through lots of twists and turns. The characters are unreliable but somewhat likable? I’m a big Liv Constantine fan! This book was so good and perfect to add to your beach bag this summer!

“Don’t Open Your Eyes” is a thriller by Liv Constantine. This was an interesting book - is the main character, Annabelle, suddenly becoming slightly psychic by getting flashes of the future in her dreams? Do psychic abilities come and go? Don’t know - but it’s an interesting idea. This book has two timelines and multiple POVs, which took me a few chapters to keep straight (plus the dreams). I felt that a few of the minor characters - Parker (dog) and Scarlett’s sister were rather under-used that I kinda wondered why they were in the book. Did I figure out the connection between past Annabelle and present Annabelle - yes, though I threw in one twist that wasn’t there (and I realized my twist wouldn’t’ve made sense, but I was going with it for a while). Anyway, the book was progressing well … and then the weirdo twisty twist came and I felt like I was suddenly in some weird Twilight Zone episode or crazy ride where you really want to get out of the situation. Was this the best book/story by Liv Constantine? No, but it wasn’t bad, just not my favorite. Overall, 3.75 stars - raised to 4. This book did hold my attention and I found it a really good fast read.

Perfect beach read! Absolutely loved the premise and felt the tension all of the way to the end. The main character has nightmares that later come true - it will want to keep you from sleeping!

Thank you Netgalley and Ballantine Books for an arc of this book.

I won't lie, I felt like this wouldn't be a top favorite from this author. I have read pretty much all of her works and she is good at throwing me for a loop. At first I felt this was way too predictable, I thought I knew what was happening, and then bam, constant twists.

This is why I consider this author my favorite psychological thriller author, no one can do to me what she does.
