Annabelle is having nightmares. Well, premonitions, really, since they’re coming true. The more detailed and accurate her dreams become the more concerned she becomes that her life isn’t what it seems.

I absolutely loved this one! The characters were all interesting and felt real and the story moved pretty quickly. The twists were really well done and surprising, too. The only criticism I have is that the book was a little lopsided, with the first half being a slow build and the back half being written a warp speed, the difference was so stark and sudden you could get whiplash.

Don’t Open Your Eyes follows Annabelle, a woman whose unsettling dreams begin to mirror reality, pushing her to question everything she knows about her life. As these visions intensify and start coming true, Annabelle digs deeper and uncovers secrets that have long been buried beneath the surface.

Told through multiple points of view, the story is structured like a puzzle, each chapter slowly feeding you information until the full picture clicks into place. I enjoyed how the narrative wove the characters’ perspectives together, gradually building tension and adding depth to the mystery.

The premise was unique, and the supernatural element of Annabelle’s dreams added a compelling twist. There were a few well-placed reveals, but I did find one of the major twists predictable. Additionally, while the buildup created a lot of suspense, especially through the repeated dream sequences, the pacing occasionally felt off. Some sections were a bit repetitive, and the ending, though neat, didn’t quite live up to the intensity of the setup. It felt somewhat anti-climactic and more straightforward than expected.

Still, Liv Constantine delivers an engaging psychological thriller with atmospheric tension and an interesting look at the boundary between intuition and reality. It’s a solid read for fans of slow-burn suspense and domestic thrillers. I couldn't put it down!

I've been a fan of Liv Constantine ever since The Last Mrs. Parrish, and Don’t Open Your Eyes did not disappoint! This book had so many unexpected twists that I audibly gasped more than once, and just when I thought I had recovered, another twist would hit. The suspense kept building, and I absolutely could not put it down. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you guessing until the very end, this one is a must-read!

Don't Open Yours Eyes is a domestic drama with so many twists and turns you'll get mental whiplash! Liv Constantine never fails to write a page-turner.

From the outside, Annabelle's life looks idyllic. She has a doctor husband who adores her, a thriving career, two beautiful daughters, a gorgeous house, and a country club membership. However, some dark secrets from her past threaten to ruin her perfect life. She's not sure if it's because of stress from work, but she's been having some very unsettling dreams lately. Her oldest daughter, Scarlett, forges a permission form to do a DNA test (which her father was adamantly against), and finds out some surprising information. This sets into motion a chain of events that puts Scarlett in grave danger. Lies and secrets abound, and Annabelle isn't sure who she can trust.

I really enjoyed this one, and it kept me in the edge of my seat to find out what was really going on!

Don't Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is a twisted psychological/domestic thriller that follows Annabelle, a woman who starts to have dreams that become her reality.

Annabelle seems to be living a perfect life. She is married to James, a handsome and devoted doctor, they have two daughters and her career as a social media consultant is just what she loves to do. But when she has a dream where her husband hates her and her daughter is in danger she is a little shaken. Why if her life is so happy is she dreaming like that? And then parts of Annabelle's dream start to come true. Coincidence or could these be premonitions? As James starts to become more secretive and her older daughter starts to rebel, it feels like Annabelle's fragile hold on her reality is slipping.

Wow. I definitely thought that this book was going to go one way, then it went completely in a new direction. The first bit was a little slow, but understandable for character development and laying the foundation for the plot. But then it steadily increased the suspense and I raced through the second half of the book! The alternating POVs are a brilliant way of leaving little crumbs to tie the whole story together. With as many twists as this book has you won't know who to trust at all! If you like complex and twisted thrillers with plenty of family drama definitely give this one a chance!

Thank you to NetGalley, Liv Constantine, and Random House Publishing Group/Ballantine Bantam for this ARC! Publication day is June 17th 2025.

They did it again! Oh my goodness! I absolutely loved this book it was so good.

Annabelle has everything anyone could want. Two wonderful daughters, great husband and a career. Annabelle has horrible dreams that are starting to come true. Someone is wanting Scarlett dead and Annabelle cannot understand why.

I couldn't even imagine having these horrible dreams and then them coming true. I was not able to figure out the twist and boy it was crazy.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for the eARC.

What a wild, thrilling ride! The idea of suddenly having dreams that predict the future, especially ones involving horrific events that could impact your own husband and children, is absolutely mind bending.
I kept expecting Annabelle’s attempts to interfere with fate to create a Final Destination style chain reaction, completely unraveling everything. But the way the story unfolded was full of unexpected twists that kept me guessing.
Adding to the chaos, the mysterious man connected to a tragedy from Annabelle’s past brought an extra layer of tension and intrigue that I really enjoyed. While I ultimately did see the ending coming, the journey there was thoroughly entertaining and kept me hooked the entire time. My only complaint is how quickly and neatly Annabelle’s sudden gift was explained. It felt a bit too convenient, I would have loved for her to have one last dream to end on a cliffhanger.

Liv Constantine is a go-to author for me and this was one of my most anticipated books of the year!

DON’T OPEN YOUR EYES is a psychological suspense about a woman plagued by nightmares that start coming true.

I loved the short chapters 🙌 I flew through this book and finished it in only a few sittings. The nightmares were so eerie, especially when they started actually happening 😮

It was really interesting having the daughter’s POV too. Reading her chapters left me with a sense of unease that something was going to go horribly wrong.

The ending was filled with action and answered all of my questions!

What a ride!

I was unsure what to expect when I picked up this book. I have heard about Liv Constantine for the past couple of years, but I haven’t had a chance to check out the books yet. The title and the cover captured my attention. Once I read the book's synopsis, I was even more intrigued and needed to find out what would happen. I have read a lot of mystery/ thriller books. Don't Open Your Eyes is unlike any thriller I have read. I am still trying to process the story. The plot took so many unexpected turns that I eventually stopped attempting to predict what would happen next. I love the idea behind the story, dreams that end up coming true? I can't even begin to understand Annabelle's feelings of fear, especially since she didn't know when it might occur. I understand why her husband, James, responded the way he did, but he could have handled it better. I sensed something strange about him from the start, but I couldn't figure out what. I just knew I didn't trust him.

I enjoyed reading the book from several perspectives, primarily because the characters were all different. I did occasionally shake my head at Scarlett's decisions. I had a feeling it would bring her into trouble someday. It was intriguing to read from the perspective of a teenager. Scarlett annoyed me at times, especially when it came to how she handled her mother, but her character grew on me. The descriptions of the characters' emotions, particularly Annabelle, were fantastic; I could sense her anxiety. Overall, all the details were so clear that I could envision everything, like a movie playing in my head.

The first few pages were slow for me, and there were few character conversations that didn’t feel realistic to me. Once the plot picked up, I couldn’t stop reading, I was constantly on the edge of my seat. I loved Annabelle, even if at times it didn’t seem like it, she was a strong character, and no matter what was happening, she kept on going. I felt like I should seen it coming, but with all the twists and turns in the book, the ending was the most shock of all. Those at the types of books that are my favorites, the ending that you didn’t see coming. I’m so thrilled that I got a chance to read this book! I would recommend this to any thriller/ mystery fans. Be prepared for a exhilarating ride!

I always grab a Liv Constantine novel- they just seem to hit right when I need them. Thank you @prhaudio & @ballantinebooks for my early reading and listening copies of DON’T OPEN YOUR EYES, out today!

Annabelle begins having these dreams where she is scared of/hates her husband and worries her daughters are in danger. Even stranger is that they begin to come true, but because her doctor is a neurologist, he dismisses her at first and she begins to “find ways to discount her dreams.”

Meanwhile even though their family seems to have it all, her daughter has decided everyone is keeping secrets from her, plus she meets a boy online. Now for all of us that are 40+ we are freaking out over here over all the psychos and catfishers online!

As always with Liv Constantine, there’s more than meets the eye to the storyline and the mystery of the “boy online” as well as Annabelle’s new job and account management problems made me keep turning the pages faster and faster. While I did predict facets of the novel, it was still enjoyable!

Of course, as with all Liv Constantine novels: READ IT.

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the ARC of Don’t Open Your Eyes in exchange for an honest review!

Back with another twisty and scandalacious thriller, Liv Constantine adds a supernatural dressing this time, as she explores the ways our decisions can impact our whole lives and how even foresight may not quite change one’s fate. Annabelle Reynolds has made a lot of choices in her life, but they’ve all led her here: happily married, two beautiful children, and a career she feels passionate about with a promotion pending. Yet, something strange has begun. Recently, Annabelle has begun to dream things before they happen. As she reacts, sometimes warranted and sometimes not, she begins to wonder if she’s starting to go crazy. Are her dreams trying to save her from a grave mistake, or is she reading too much into them?

Balancing her now frustrated husband, rebellious teenage daughter, and a suspicious (and charming) new client, Annabelle’s happy world is turning upside down, and her meticulously stitched web is threatening to unwind. Liv Constantine always creates great story worlds, fraught with complex characters, morally grey landmines, and plenty of drama. Superior to its predecessors in both depth and intricacy, Don’t Open Your Eyes is a perfect summer beach read that will keep you page-turning until the wee hours of the morning, and adding Constantine’s next book to your To-Read pile immediately.

My only complaint, as I would have with any author, is that I don’t love when writers try to write in text speak, especially when emulating teenagers. It almost always is distracting and because of the way culture changes generational vernacular constantly, it never quite lands right. Just my opinion!

When dreams become nightmares, you might want to keep your eyes open! In Don't Open Your Eyes, Annabelle is a married woman with two daughters and a great career. She appears to have it all, but what she doesn't have is peaceful sleep. Annabelle is having dreams which for some reason are slowly coming true to a degree. Annabelle is feeling stressed and Jason, her husband is far from supportive. The Annabelle has a dream that her daughter, Scarlett is in danger....

This book is told through the POV's of various characters (Annabelle in the present, Scarlett, and Annabelle in the past) and using two timelines. For the first half of the book, I found myself scratching my head and wondering just what the heck is going on? Are the dreams premonitions? I had no clue what was happening. All I knew was that I wanted to know more.

I had no idea where this book was heading for most of the book. I felt lost yet I was enjoying the plot. I enjoyed the tension and the dread that Annabelle was feeling. I never saw the various twists and turns coming. Overall, an enjoyable book that kept me on my toes and wondering what would happen next!

Mysterious, twist filled, and full of tension!

Don’t Open Your Eyes was one of my most anticipated June reads. Liv Constantine is an auto-read author for me so I was really excited for this one! I liked the storyline and found the multiple perspectives engaging. Each voice felt distinct and the audiobook narrators were a great fit. Scarlett was my favorite character. I enjoyed seeing how she navigated being a teen. The dream sequences from Annabelle’s point of view were intriguing and I liked the use of premonitions throughout. The ending wasn’t my favorite, but it was decent. Overall, I’d rate this 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 on Goodreads.

DON’T OPEN YOUR EYES by one of the Liv Constantine pair is a thrill ride a minute!

In Bayport, Connecticut, Annabelle Reynolds has an enviable life. With a devoted husband, James and 15-year-old Scarlett and 11 year old Olivia, she moves through her days at her marketing job with ease. But then she begins having catastrophic dreams. She dreams of a future where she hates her husband and her oldest daughter‘s life is in peril. When some of her dreams start happening during the waking day, she fears that they are premonitions of what is to come. Annabelle has worked hard to attain her goals in life, caring for her mother during college, and eventually losing the man of her dreams. He was the boy she couldn’t forget. But James has always been right by her side.

Scarlett has been leading a secret life online. She is in contact with Ben and over time has told him everything regarding her mother and her family. Ben has been there for Scarlet but does not want her to tell her family about him just yet. He advises her on her relationship was with her family. Is this why Scarlet will be in such danger? Can her mother do anything to protect her if she is unaware of the relationship to begin with?

When Annabel is assigned a new account at work, she realises that the man she will work with, Chase, has played a prominent role in her dreams. He tells her about his struggling marriage with wife Tara and his very close relationship with his son, Lucas, who was apparently a miracle baby after Tara suffered many miscarriages and the death of one baby. As Annabel and Chase grow closer, she struggles to keep their relationship strictly professional.

When Scarlet is run down in the street, Tara is arrested and revelations about past misdeeds come to light. The explosive conclusion left my head spinning.

As we’ve come to expect with a Liv Constantine novel, the twists and turns come fast and furious at the end. When I felt myself going down one road, I was quickly redirected down another. The mark of a good book! The writing was clear and concise which led to an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to see where the authors, together or individually take me next.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.
