Did I finish this in one day? Yes. Was it great? Also yes.

This is another twisty thriller from Liv Constantine I have really grown to love their books and was really impressed with this one. I didn’t see the twists coming and I just had to keep reading to see what would happen next.

This twisty tale follows Annabelle who seemingly has the perfect life; perfect husband, perfect kids, perfect job, nice house in Connecticut, except for one thing, she’s having these disturbing dreams and the dreams are coming true. She has a dream that her teenage daughter Scarlett is in danger and feels someone is after her. We get Scarlett’s perspective as well, and she is talking to a mysterious man online named Ben. Is Ben the one after her? Is Annabelle’s dream premonition going to come true? You will have to read to find out!

I would highly recommend this thriller for a summer read. It’s a quick popcorn thriller that you can’t put down!

I received an ARC of Don't Open your Eyes from NetGalley, and sped right through it. I really enjoy books that keep me hooked enough to want to return to it each day until I've finished it, and this book was one of those. Annabelle lives an idyllic life until she starts having realistic and disturbing dreams that turn into premonitions. While she begins to see them for what they are and is able to potentially alter the outcome of the dreams and her reality, there is definitely something building that has potential to be vastly out of her control. I really enjoyed the premise of this story, feel that it was well written and I enjoyed the pace of until the last 1/4 of the book; it felt like the author got tired of slowly building the story and rushed through the climax. Still, the twists were pretty twisty and I'd say this book was a solid 3.5/5.

Liv Constantine's new novel, Don't Open Your Eyes, is unputdownable. I read most of it over a couple of days. Although I guessed a couple of the red herrings, there were multiple plot twists that I did not see coming.

Trigger warnings: Child loss, pregnancy complications

If you need a quick, easy thriller, this is the book for you!

Thank you to Ballantine and NetGalley for an ARC of this book. Opinions expressed are my own. This book will be published on 06/17/2025.

This was just okay. We have 3 POV and two timelines. I also feel like the beginning dragged a bit. Also a few story lines that we didn't need (aka her relationship from the before timeline). It was a like not a love, but I will continue to read Liv Constantine's Books.

Thanks Netgalley and Random House for The ARC!

Annabelle has a promising life. A prominent neurogsurgeon husband, a successful career, and two beautiful daughters but she does have one massive problem. Every time she falls asleep she vivd dreams that predict the future and ultimately end up coming true. One of the dreams was that her daughters life is at risk. She becomes over protective and her daughter begins to pull away. Her daughter, Scarlett, is hiding a huge secret. She has found a secret friend she met in a chat forum. As much as she wants to tell her mom, she isn't going to risk the one relationship that brings her comfort. But the boy she found on the internet isn't who she thinks he is and he will be the demise of her family as she knows it.

Liv Constantine is the duo that NEVER misses. Immediately add Don’t Open Your Eyes to your summer reading list at the very top. Full of twists and turns that you think you figured out but let me tell you, you’re dead wrong. So fantastic, I read this cover to cover in less than 24 hours. You won’t be able to put this book down and I highly recommend you also read everything they’ve ever written.

I love a Liv Constantine thriller. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. There were so many twists that I never caught my breath. However, this is also a cautionary tale for women.
Annabelle has it all. The two cute children and the doctor husband. The house and a successful career of her own. Why is she suddenly having terrible dreams about her husband and her life. Why now? Is it women’s intuition or is it something else? This was a wild ride I recommend going on. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced reading of this book. It comes out next month so pre order now!

What a compulsively readable psychological thriller! Liv Constantine deftly plotted a multilayered mystery that was packed with a variety of shocking twists. This dynamic writing duo once again delivered captivating story filled with family secrets, deceitful behaviors, and haunting premonitions.

Don’t Open Your Eyes was about a successful social media marketing specialist, Annabelle, who experienced unsettling dreams that seemed to predict future events. The dreams she had had begun to come true and forced her to question everything about her life, including her marriage, family, and a hidden past.

In true Liv Constantine style, these ladies skillfully built the mounting tension in a cleverly plotted storyline with the most unreliably flawed characters. The combination of gradually built tension and tenuous characters made it particularly hard to ascertain who to believe and who not to believe from start to finish.

Aside from the far fetched premonition dreams Annabelle had, I wasn’t a fan of the relatively slow start. I thought the abundance of the typical daily conversational dialogue consumed the first quarter of the book, and as a result, it was a bit mundane at times to read. I found myself asking the question “When is the rising action going to start?” “When’s the twist coming?”. Fortunately, once the first revelation was disclosed the momentum picked up and didn’t let up until the very end.

When reading novels regardless of the genre, I always look for ones that have a richly fabricated characters, well developed plot, and compelling themes. Don’t Open Your Eyes had all of these elements. I loved how Liv Constantine told this story between multiple character perspectives and the alternating before and present day timelines. This created a richer and more nuanced understanding of the characters and what they were going through and what they were thinking. Additionally, the alternating timelines provided an interesting backstory without losing the suspense.

Annabelle, although complex, was my favorite character. She was one determined woman. I loved her resolve to uncover the truth behind her dreams and the threats to her family. Even though she faced a blurry line between what was real and what was imagined, her persistence led her to uncover secrets and hidden agendas of the supporting characters. And on top on that, all the secrets and deception amongst the characters created an atmosphere of suspicion and mistrust.

Although intriguing, I did find plot premise about the premonition dreams a bit far fetched, but luckily the authentic and relatable characters made this story more believable and entertaining. I did like how the dreams created a sense of dread and uncertainty. I also liked how this story employed not one twist, but a series of twists. The numerous twists had me guessing the source of the dreams, the nature of the threats, and Annabelle's own sanity. It was entirely engaging.

This story did not fall short on themes. Constantine thoughtfully wove the themes on fragility of reality, deception, manipulation, obsession and the pursuit of truth which created a more cohesive narrative therefore making it more satisfying.

Overall, Liv Constantine successfully wrote another suspenseful psychological thriller that kept me as thoroughly entertained as her preceding novels. So entertained and satisfied that I am already on the look out for their next novel!

I have enjoyed several Liv Constantine books and was thrilled to discover this latest thriller from this duo (although it appears as though only Lynne wrote this one).

Annabelle is having precognitive dreams: she dreams something, and then the event comes true. She spends her life rearranging schedules and avoiding any circumstances that are in her dreams. Her husband James, a neurologist and a know-it-all, categorically refuses to believe her, blaming her stress levels as the cause for forgetting she knew about the events before she dreamed about them. The dreams are causing Annabelle deep anguish. She is also bearing the burden of her mother's declining health and is searching for her deadbeat dad to recoup the alimony and child support he never paid.

The story has multiple points of view: Annabelle in the present and in the past; her daughter Scarlett, and an anonymous wife seeking evidence of her husband's infidelity. The chapters are short and punchy, helping the plot move along quickly.

The story has many twists, and they were lots of fun. I am not a reader who usually figures out what's going on before it's spelled out for me, but I did suspect a few of them in this one. It was still an enjoyable ride all the way through, and I do recommend this for fans of the author and general popcorn thriller lovers in general!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is my first book by Liv Constantine, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Overall, this book didn’t work for me.

There’s a lot of positive reviews, so maybe I just read too many thrillers and I’m picky. But everything from the writing style to the plot twists didn’t work for me.

The premise is really cool and I was definitely intrigued in the beginning, despite disliking the writing. However, around the 40% mark I started losing interest and the plot twists and reveals didn’t shock me. The “wife” felt like a cartoon villain towards the end and all the other reveals just felt disjointed and thrown out there.

I’m sure people will enjoy, especially if this kind of domestic thriller is their vibe, this but it didn’t work for me.

This was an entertaining read. I was not expecting a few of the twists. This is an author that has consistent great books .

3.5 stars, rounded down to 3 stars.

I went back and forth with this one. Initially, I wasn't engaged and almost stopped reading. Maybe 40% in things clicked together and I felt invested, and began to appreciate the tale. The last 10%, well, just didn't work for me. This is not to say I didn't enjoy this -- I actually did. I just think it could have been a bit better. The whole dream angle I think is overplayed in the blurbs for the book. The concept pretty much goes away for the last 1/3.

Will I read more from the author? Probably. There were some good ideas here.

I received a complimentary copy of the novel from the publisher and NetGalley, and my review is being left freely.

I’m a very huge fan of Liv Constantine and this book did not disappoint! It was so enjoyable and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read this book so early! This story follows the main character Annabelle who on the outside has a perfect life. Happily married, great job, mother of two girls. When she starts having premonition dreams she needs to figure out what these dreams mean before it comes to reality. She needs to find out whether these dreams are real and will play out like in her dreams of if’s her anxiety causing imaginary dreams. I loved the twists and turns in this book and I loved the concept about premonition dreams and what could happen if you alter them in some way. Must read book and definitely recommend! Publishing date of June 17, 2025. Thank you Random House Publishing for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC.

I first discovered Liv Constantine through The Last Mrs. Parrish, and I've been hooked ever since. If her name is on the cover, it's an automatic read for me—and Don't Open Your Eyes absolutely delivers.

This is a quick, propulsive thriller that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. Constantine excels at crafting psychologically charged narratives centered around marriage and deception, and this latest novel is no exception. The tension builds with every chapter, and just when you think you know what's happening, the story pivots in a way only Constantine can pull off.

If you love fast-paced domestic suspense with layered characters and jaw-dropping twists, don’t miss this one. It's Liv Constantine at her best.

A new Liv Constantine book, yes please. I was so excited to receive this book in advance from NetGalley, and this book is amazing. A mother’s worst nightmare , a wife’s worst fear, and nightmares that are premonitions coming true, all wrapped neatly in one book…… spectacular.
Annabelle and James are a married couple with two daughters. Annabelle was first dating James’ roommate Randy in college, but Randy was caught cheating when Annabelle became pregnant. James swooped in and was her knight in shining armor and took care of her (or so she thought). Annabelle starts having nightmares about horrible hints happening, and James brushes it off as anxiety. A woman’s intuition comes into play here, and their world starts to unravel. Secrets are exposed and Annabelle learns the truth about James and how evil he really is.

Oooo this was a fast read for me. Annabelle starts having nightmares predicting real life events that are making her lose her marbles when they start showing bad things happening to her daughters. It kinda drifted from the nightmare aspect at times but it had good plot twists for sure!

Seriously, one of the best written mystery books I’ve read in a long time. I am shocked that when I was SURE I knew what was going on, I still didn’t guess the plot twist. This story has LAYERS and Liv Constantine made sure to hit every single mark, carrying you through the twists and turns, without missing a single detail.

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publishers, and Liv Constantine for an ARC of Don’t Open Your Eyes! I honestly thought I had this book but the ending had my jaw dropped. I loved the premise of this book - Annabelle is having visions/premonitions in her dreams and they start coming true. From the first page I was absolutely hooked. It starts with Annabelle having it all - a great husband, children, a job she loves but her dreams are honestly nightmares. As a mother you’re already ridden with anxiety so this doesn’t help at all. The dreams start coming true and thinking it could be coincidental there is no way she could have dreamed some of these things. Once the dreams involve her daughter Scarlett, Annabelle has to take action to protect her at all costs. Annabelle is faced with what can she actually control and what is fate. This book is super hard to put down because you have to get to the end - you have to know what in the world is going on and why this is happening. I have loved all of Liv’s books - but I want to say this takes the first place! You have to wonder what you would do in Annabelle’s place? Completely twisty, edge of your seat, welcome to one of the top thrillers of 2025.

Meet Annabelle: her world turns upside down when she starts having dreams that feel like premonitions... and they keep coming true. They also warn her that her husband is hiding something big, and that her elder daughter Scarlett might be in serious danger. The book is told from multiple POV’s and timelines. We mostly follow Annabelle's dreams, and deal with her husband's frustratingly controlling behavior. We watch Scarlett flirt with a mysterious online guy named Ben. Could this be Catfishing? The last 25% of the book, really kicked everything in high gear the action-packed finale delivered what I'd been waiting for since page one.
