This is my third book since reading Liv's The Last Mrs Parrish and I just haven't fallen in love with her writing as much as i did with that one. I feel like her newer books seem rushed to try to push out another book but they don't hold a candle to that one. This was a very slow burn for me and up until the last 25% of the book...i had to fight the urge to DNF this. I thought the twist were predictable and a bit mediocre at best.

What an interesting idea! I am a fan of the Liv Constantine books I've read and I was excited to finish Don't Open Your Eyes. In some ways it didn't disappoint and in some it wasn't as enthralling as others.
We are brought right into the plot of this book that centers around Annabelle, her family and her dreams. Annabelle's life seems perfect and it stays that way for a long time. Except, you can feel that facade being cracked as the book goes on, except it is a bit hard to tell why. Is Annabelle imagining all of this? Is there something nefarious going on? Not to mention that there is something going on with her daughter Scarlett and what that is seems obvious!
In the end I enjoyed this book but it was not the amazing book I hoped for like one of the Mrs. Parrish novels. However, there's a big twist and I definitely didn't see it coming at all!
Advanced reader copy provided by Ballantine and NetGalley but all opinions are my own.

An amazing read from Liv Constantine. She is such an amazing story teller with all the twists and turns…and unexpected endings. Annabelle is living her life with her husband and kids…until dreams start impacting her life. Her husband is not very supportive and makes her feel even worse about herself. Her daughter starts investigating the strange behavior and happens upon some information that could change their lives…. Annabelle’s secrets from the past start unraveling but not in the way you think… I love all Liv Constantine’s books and this one will pull you in and keep you guessing until the end. Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the complimentary copy.

As a media journalist with a deep appreciation for psychological thrillers, I was genuinely excited to receive an advance copy of Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine. The premise—steeped in suspense, identity twists, and psychological tension—seemed poised to deliver another page-turner from the authors of The Last Mrs. Parrish.
However, despite several attempts to immerse myself in the narrative, I ultimately chose not to finish the book. While the initial chapters hinted at a compelling mystery, I found the pacing sluggish and the characters difficult to connect with. The plot felt overly familiar, lacking the fresh, sharp edge that typically defines Constantine’s work.
To be clear, a DNF doesn’t mean the book has no merit—it simply didn’t resonate with me personally. Some readers may appreciate the slow-burn setup and layered structure more than I did. As with all early reads, it's worth noting that preferences vary widely, and I encourage others to explore it with an open mind when it officially releases.
I remain a fan of Liv Constantine’s earlier novels and look forward to what they create next.

Liv Constantine has done it again! What a twists and edge of the seat read. I literally could not put it down! One of my faves!
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book!

The twists be twisting in this book! I have to give all the kudos to Liv Constantine for her reckless twists. Her story goes hard for the twists but also have heart. As a new mom I had all the feels for the child subplot.
I appreciate that I can picture all Liv Constantine’s books as films and immediately start casting in my head. I loved Mrs Parrish and this so now it is time to add the rest of her bibliography to my TBR.
Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine for my arc in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Annabelle has everything she's ever wanted. A devoted husband, two wonderful daughters, and a career she loves. She couldn't be happier. So why is she suddenly plagued by disturbing dreams of a future where she hates her husband and her daughters' lives are at risk?
When details from her dreams begin to materialize, she realizes these aren't just dreams but rather premonitions of a terrifying future. Then Annabelle has a dream that her daughter, Scarlett, is in immediate danger. As her present life starts to collide with the future in her dreams, she wrestles with how much control she really has over her destiny and whether or not she can change what is meant to be.
💭 my first official full length book to read on my kindle!! 🤩 and what a FUN mystery this was! I went in a little hesitant since it was about dream premonitions, but man did they do this concept justice. 👏🏼 the twists were twisty + the female rage was givinggg 😆 the multiple POV and dual timelines made it a quick, bingeable read even though it was a bit of a slow burn. it’s one of those where you don’t know who’s lying + why— this is definitely a bop you should pick up!

tysm to @netgalley and the publisher for the eARC!

Annabelle appears to have it all - perfect job, life, husband, and daughters. Despite everything, she slowly watches her life deteriorate as horrific nightmares start to play out in real life.
I love a good psychological thriller, and this gave me everything I was asking for! Quick read with short chapters. Loved the twists!
Thanks to Random House Publishing Group, Ballantine | Bantam, and NetGalley for an advanced reader’s copy.

Constantine have been pretty reliable authors for when im in the mood for a quick bingeable domestic thriller - never anything too wild or groundbreaking but a good time. I liked the multiple POVs here, it took me a minute to figure out how it all threaded together and some of the reveals towards the end surprised me. However I thought it would dive more into the supernatural type of premise and I was kind of let down by that aspect; its only real purpose is to drive to story forward and it feels like it never goes anywhere interesting.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House | Ballantine | Bantam for gifting me a digital and physical copy of the latest thriller of the sister writing team known as Liv Constantine. All opinions expressed in this review are my own – 4.5 stars rounded up!
Annabelle has everything she’s ever wanted. A devoted husband, two wonderful daughters, and a career she loves. But she keeps having terrible dreams that suddenly seem to materialize in real life. Her present life soon becomes a nightmare of trying to keep herself and her family ahead of the trouble she sees. Can she control the future?
I’m a big fan of the authors’ books, and this is the perfect summer thriller. Told in different timelines and POV, I raced through this book, especially rooting for both Annabelle and her daughter, Scarlett. Annabelle is haunted not only by her past but now also of the future. The story was tense throughout, pulling from today’s headlines of the scary parts of social media. Don’t miss this one!

Yes! I love me some Liv Constantine!
The thrills and the plot!
All I can say is grab your popcorn, turn your phone on silent, and enjoy your ride!

WOW! At the start I thought it was going to be repetitive with Dream after Dream… but holy cow! I did figure out most of the twists… but didn’t think they ALL would happen! A few oh sh*t moment and even some tearing up. A great all around book and kept me on my toes! Finished in a day because I HAD to know what happened next.

Liv Constantine delivers a solid page-turner domestic thriller about a woman named Annabelle with a seemingly perfect life who is haunted by strange dreams. It becomes clear that the dreams are something more. Is she psychic? Is her intuition trying to tell her something? The twist is interesting and clever, and the last third of the book really picked up steam. For me, I would have liked the protagonist in first person. I felt it might've helped me connect a little bit more with Annabelle, rather than using first person only used for the unknown character who made brief appearances in the book.. Still, this is a solid domestic thriller and highly recommended, especially for readers who like a thriller on the lighter side with a dash of women's fiction.

Annabelle appears to have it all: a thriving career in social media marketing, a successful physician husband, and two teenage daughters. But when she begins experiencing vivid nightmares that start to mirror real-life events, her concerns are quickly dismissed by her husband. When a dream suggests her daughter may be in danger, Annabelle finds herself alone in a desperate race to unravel the truth and prevent her visions from becoming reality.
A solid improvement over the last thriller I read, which is no surprise from the author of The Next Mrs. Parrish. While the plot requires the reader to suspend disbelief, it’s a fast-paced read, ideal for summer. Out tomorrow, 6/17. Thank you to @NetGalley for the early copy!

4.5 ⭐️ | The plot twists queens are at it again! This sister duo writing team never ceases to amaze me with their creativity & unique storylines.
Imagine your nightmares becoming a reality! Having awful dreams that make you wake up in cold sweats & in tears, and then realizing they are more premonitions than dreams. When this begins to happen to Annabelle, she is afraid, freaked out, uncertain, confused and a lot of other emotions.
The turns this story took will give you whiplash! It was well written, well paced & truly a page turning read. I loved the mysterious element of this extra character “The Wife” that has you thinking “who’s wife” “lady who are you” throughout about 80% of the book. And in true Liv fashion, the story was woven together brilliantly! This was my 12th read by these authors & I have yet to be disappointed. Highly recommended for psych thriller fans! Thank you Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

Quotes I ❤️ed:
“Avery didn’t diss other people. She said small-minded people talked about others, while great minds discussed ideas.”
“Hate is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies,” she’d said. “Besides, life’s too short to live that way. I prefer to count my blessings.”

Don't Open Your Eyes had me hooked from the first chapter; starting out with a tense scene and then wondering if it was a dream or premonition. The slow build of anxiety as I read was unsettling and masterfully done. I got to the twist and I was certain this would be my best read of the year. When several additional twists sent the plot along a different path I was still along for the ride and enjoying it, but it didn't quite hit the 5-star spot. Ultimately, this was a 4-star read for me that left me reaching for my Kindle in every down minute I could find.

Annabelle Reynolds has a devoted physician husband, two lovely daughters, and a marketing career she loves – but she’s haunted by nightmares in which awful things happen in her future…and they start to come true. These terrible visions range from her being attacked by her husband who she now hates to a threat against her daughter’s life.
When details of these visions start to happen, Annabelle must wrestle with whether her life choices can forestall further premonitions from coming true. Annabelle faces a husband who seems to be keeping a huge secret, her daughter Scarlett who’s being potentially stalked on social media by someone who’s not the teen he presents as, and a huge loss from her past that seems connected to her future. Annabelle’s anxiety and truth-seeking make her first person narrative compelling. Interspersed along with her first person’s point of view is that of her daughter Scarlet and a mysterious woman telling a story as “the Wife.”
The sister duo who writes under the pen name Liv Constantine have created a popcorn psychological thriller that really ratches up the action and tension in the end.
Thanks to Random House Publishing Group, Ballantine | Bantam, and NetGalley for an advanced reader’s copy.

I adored this book! It kept me interested the entire ride and I did not know where it was going. I liked the added aspect of the dreams.

The short chapters made the book easy to read. However, the first 3/4 of the book was really slow. But the last 25% really picked up and had me hooked!

Thank you to Ballantine and PRH Audio for the review copies of Don't Open Your Eyes. While I’m typically a fan of this writing duo and their signature twisty plots, this one didn’t quite land for me. I can usually suspend some disbelief for a juicy thriller, but this story stretched that a bit too far, and by the end, I found too much of it—and too many of the characters—hard to root for. The themes around parenting, adolescent well-being, and parental rights felt especially off, lacking the redemption or nuance I was hoping for. I know I’ll be in the minority on this, and that’s okay—readers who enjoy fast-paced thrillers with sharp edges (fans of Jeneva Rose come to mind) may find themselves happily pulled in.
