Annabelle Reynolds, a successful social media PR manager, enjoys a happy life with her husband James and their two daughters. However, everything starts to spin out of control when she begins to have disturbing dreams that start coming true. James, a neurologist, dismisses them, but Annabelle is in a state of panic and starts changing her routine and upcoming plans, in fear of these horrific dreams, especially one where her daughter Scarlett appears to be in great danger. And what does the dream involving Annabelle's encounter with a handsome stranger signify? Is her marriage not as solid as she thinks it is? Annabelle's life unravels as shocking family secrets come to light.

Don't Open Your Eyes is another enjoyable psychological thriller by Liv Constantine, the pseudonym for the writing team of sisters Lynne and Valerie Constantine. Get ready for the tension and suspense of this twisty, addictive book. Is the plot over the top? Absolutely, but that didn't bother me one bit. It was entertaining and kept me guessing.

Nightmares are manifestations of our worst fears. For me, it's being locked in a box by the Evil Stepmother from Snow White. For Annabelle, her nightmares are something else. They are premonitions....or a view of an alternate reality.

In real life, Annabelle is living a dream life. Her husband is a doctor and she has a successful career in media marketing. They have two daughters. So, the nightmares....it's similar to her actual life, except her mild-mannered husband is now volatile and her children (and her) are in danger. Everything seems so real....doesn't it?

Told in multiple POVs, Don't Open Your Eyes is a book you read all in one sitting, overnight, sitting up, turning page after page. It's THAT GOOD.

LC is one of my favorite authors, so this book was an automatic read for me. When I began I was surprised at the structure of this one because it was a bit different than what I am used to in an LC book. With wild dreams that are coming true and a future that the main character isn’t ready to face, Don’t Open Your Eyes kept me on the edge of my seat.

Annabelle’s husband thinks she’s lost her mind, her career is on the line. Her teenage daughter is texting with a stranger from the internet (ps. my kids are never getting cell phones now thanks LC for this ICK reminder), and her past is coming up in the most frustrating ways. There were lies, secrets, hit and runs, nightmares and a truth bomb that shook up the whole story.

You don’t wanna miss this one! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.

Annabelle starts having strange, vivid dreams that begin to come true. What are the chances she dreams about a tragic plane crash—before it actually happens? As her visions grow more intense and unsettling, she begins seeing her own family in danger. Desperate to stop them from becoming reality, Annabelle races to figure out what she can control… and what she can’t.

I really wanted to love this book, but it fell short of my expectations. I’ve enjoyed other books by Liv Constantine and love how twisty and mind-bending they usually are, but this one didn’t deliver that same punch. The premise—predicting the future through dreams—is definitely intriguing and had a lot of potential, but it started to feel repetitive. I kept waiting for the suspense to build, and while there was a twist at the end, it just didn’t hit the way I’d hoped.

That said, it was a quick, easy read and would make a solid summer beach read if you're looking for something with light mystery and a hint of suspense. I’ll still pick up anything this author duo writes, but Don’t Open Your Eyes just wasn’t one of my favorites.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really loved the premise of this book. A woman’s dreams become reality. I was able to imagine the stress and anxiety someone would have experienced, especially being gaslit. While overall I really enjoyed it, the last 25% felt super rushed for me, trying to tie up all the loose ends.

Constantine has done it again! She delivered a fast paced, twisted story that left me guessing until the very end. I loved the intertwining story lines that were tied together perfectly at the end.

Don't Open Your Eyes started off pretty strong. The summary says that this story is about a woman who starts having troubling dreams that become reality. But it really is so much more than that. The story is twisty and complex. My issue here is that the last 1/3 or so seems to go a little off the rails. The writing style feels much more disjointed than the first 2/3. There is also a full chapter dedicated to the bad guy fully explaining everything that they did. I do not care for that in a story. It feels like a lazy way to sort of wrap things up. It's a good thriller/mystery with some pretty unexpected twists and turns. But it could have been better.

4⭐

Liv Constantine is one of my favorites, so I was thrilled to receive an eARC of the upcoming book Don't Open Your Eyes.

Annabelle Reynolds has been having dreams that come true. Except, they usually end in some sort of tragedy. Trying to keep her family safe, Annabelle is written off as crazy and overbearing. Until her daughter Scarlett is hurt in a car accident that she predicted, by someone she wasn't expecting.

Though I didn't mind the multiple POVs and how they built the story up, I felt that there were almost too many loose threads that got tied up but were almost unbelievable. I found myself confused by the end and was thankful for the "Hey lets sit down and talk" conversation trope that spelled it out for the reader. The story was twisty and I was pretty confident I had it figured out until the very end.

I love Constantine and they will always be an auto-read for me, but this one didn't fully do it for me like some of the previous work I've read.

Thank you publishers and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC for a review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Twisty, Addictive, and Thought-Provoking
Don’t Open Your Eyes is a gripping psychological domestic thriller that keeps you on edge from start to finish. Liv Constantine masterfully blurs the lines between reality and the subconscious, exploring how our thoughts and instincts can act as warnings—if we’re willing to listen. Just when you think you have the plot figured out, the story flips everything upside down in the best way. It also pulls back the curtain on seemingly perfect lives, reminding us that what we see on the surface doesn’t always reflect what’s happening behind closed doors. Addictive, twisty, and full of surprises, this is a story that lingers long after the final page.

The breadcrumbs being dropped were so good I was making up theories as I went and could put this book down. I read it in two days. I was so happy everything I thought I had figured out I was totally wrong. I love the twists being so good I didn’t see them coming!

Annabelle Reynolds is out here living the dream — if your dream is stress-sweating through psychic nightmares while your husband gaslights you with the soft voice of a man who definitely has secrets in a crawlspace. This woman is seeing full-on disasters before they happen, and everyone around her is like, “Have you tried yoga?” Ma’am. She is predicting death. And not in a cute fortune cookie way. Real plane crashes, real bodies, real “you might be the problem” energy. The vibes? Haunted. The support system? Flimsy. The urge to throw the whole husband in the trash? Immediate.

At first, it’s easy to root for her. She’s trying to stay grounded, protect her family, and not get committed, which is harder than it sounds when you're waking up from plane crashes that just happened IRL. But then the book starts yanking her support system away like it's playing a mean little game of domestic Jenga. Husband? Distant. Friends? Sketchy. Therapist? There was one, but let’s just say that door quietly closed — and not in the “she’s cured!” way. Honestly, the most reliable people in this book are the nightmare specters, and even they’re being a little cryptic.

This whole thing reads like if “The Gift” and “Sharp Objects” had a baby that was raised on Adderall and subtle gaslighting. The vibes? Immaculately unsettling. There's a slick, glossy layer of tension that never breaks — you’re always waiting for someone to stab her in the back or for the dreams to go full "Final Destination." Every chapter piles on just enough dread to keep your jaw clenched and your trust issues screaming.

Now let’s talk marriage, because OH. The husband dynamic made me want to crawl out of my own skin. I won’t spoil anything, but the “supportive spouse” mask starts slipping about five seconds after Annabelle opens up about her dreams, and suddenly we’re knee-deep in those terrifyingly calm conversations where you just know one person is mentally replacing you with a Stepford doll. Watching her fight to hold on to herself, her family, and her sanity — while being dismissed like she’s just tired or hormonal — had me ready to throw hands. Or wine. Or both.

There are some pacing bumps, especially when the plot splits into timelines or starts chasing side characters like a dog with too many tennis balls. And yes, not every twist hits as hard as it wants to — and even if the dream stuff doesn’t totally stick the landing, that creeping “what the hell is happening?” energy kept me flipping pages like a gremlin in a blackout.

By the end, I didn’t know who to trust, whether Annabelle would make it out with her family or her sanity intact, or whether I was gonna need a sedative myself. And I kind of loved that. "Don't Open Your Eyes" thrives in that anxious gray area between dream logic and domestic drama, and while I didn’t want to live there forever, I fully respect the haunting chaos it delivers. Solid 3.5 stars.

Big thanks to Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for the ARC, and for letting me spiral through a psychic meltdown from the comfort of my couch. You have no idea how much emotional whiplash I’m willing to endure for free.

OOH!! This was such a great thriller that was character driven instead of the usual plot driven ones. The pacing was superb and I love me some multiple POVs and dual timelines. The ending had my jaw on the floor!! What an awesome surprise, I couldn't help but smile. This is definitely for those thriller readers who love being on their edge of their seats and gasping out loud. A page turner, for sure! This book made me classify Liv Constantine as an auto buy author.

This book makes me grateful that I don't remember my dreams! In this book, Annabelle starts having vivid dreams where some of the things she's dreaming about come to fruition. As Annabelle struggles to understand what these dreams mean, her life as she knows it starts to unravel. With a broader theme around consequence of choice, Annabelle begins to spiral with the knowledge of potential catastrophe in the future. Liv Constantine has never failed to deliver on a domestic thriller and just when you think you know how everything comes together, there is a plot twist to keep you on your toes. I devoured this book within a 24 hour window because I was totally captivated by Annabelle's story. I especially connected to Annabelle's work life stress which I felt was realistically portrayed, as was the weight of caring for sick parent.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! I’ve loved many of Liv Constantine’s thrillers, but Don’t Open Your Eyes wasn’t my favorite. The premise is compelling and there are some solid twists, but the pacing was a bit too slow for me. I usually prefer thrillers with a faster tempo and tighter plot. Still, it has a tense, atmospheric feel that some readers will enjoy.

Buckle up! This book will take you for a wild ride! Don’t open your eyes made it hard for me to close my eyes because I couldn’t wait to see how this book ended! Annabelle is a successful social media marketer who is married to a devoted doctor and a mother to two girls. She begins having dreams that come true shortly after her dreams. I don’t want to give too much away and give out any spoilers. This was a great read told from multiple viewpoints. I wasn’t sure how this book was going to end as there are many twists! It kept me guessing and it was a quick read as I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. Thank you to net galley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Phew this book is as twisty as a mountain road! I think I guessed one single minor twist in this book but the rest blew me out of the water. Do yourself a favor and pick up this fast paced thriller because you will not know what’s coming!

I finished this in 1.5 sittings! It is such a binge-able story! Liv Constantine does NOT disappoint. I am someone who usually predicts the twists that end up coming, even if I end up enjoying the book regardless, but I was NOT expecting what came at the end! Myself and my best friend were both approved for this arc and used it for a buddy read, and we had a GREAT time. I would highly recommend this as a book club/summer read!

Shoutout to NetGalley for giving me access to this book before it releases to the public. I consumed this book in the best way. I also loved how when I thought I had the t twists figure out, it switched on me. I won’t give anything away but, if you’re a thriller loving book reader like me, YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!!
