Wow. What a ride this book takes you on. Great twists and turns we never saw coming. Page turner. Great.

This book gave me some whiplash. There were many aspects that I loved and some that I felt were a bit overdone. In full Liv Constantine fashion, there was an unreliable narrator, which I feel she always does very well, but there are POVs to Annabel, her daughter, and “The Wife”. They’re easy to follow and I felt were done well.
I always enjoy multiple timelines. One was current, and one was when Annabel was going through college and her mother’s illness. I felt having both were important in really understanding Annabel’s state of mind and how she got to be the mother she currently is.
There were A LOT of plot twists in the last 15% of this book. It felt like the authors were trying to throw you in every direction to trick you, but it ended up pulling from the main plot too much. It took some enjoyment out of it for me. It felt like too much and most of it was unrealistic.
I’m such a fan of these authors and would still recommend this book to thriller lovers who love a lot plot twists and chaos. I enjoyed the way the book ended. It was done with no questions left unanswered, which I appreciated it.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook arc in exchange for my honest opinion!

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam and NetGalley for the ARC. I LOVE Liv Constantine, and I was super excited to see a new book coming out. Don't Open Your Eyes did not disappoint. Early on, I was absolutely CERTAIN I had it figured out. In true Constantine fashion... I was not even close. I loved the writing style of this books with multiple perspectives which brought about incredible character development. Thank you again. This one did not miss!!!! =]

Don't Open Your Eyes centers around Annabelle who has the picture perfect life on the outside but when she starts having eerie dreams that then happen in real life, she's terrified of the future after dreaming terrible things happening to her family. The story is told in multiple POVs: Annabelle, Before, Scarlett, and The Wife. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs in this book. It helped drive the story and kept me wanting to read one more chapter, especially when it's in third person because it felt like I was a fly on the wall, following their lives.
The plot moved at a good pace and I thought that every chapter really built up to the next/there weren't any fillers or lulls. Usually, I'm not one for slow burn thriller/mysteries but the secrets were pulled out and left you room to guess what they were as well. I really felt for Annabelle during the Before sections when she would visit her mother. The interactions between them really dug deep.
Overall, it's a solid thriller that's intense, full of deception, high stakes, and dark secrets. While it took a little while to get its footing, the ending more than made up for it.

Annabel, a mother of two with a seemingly idyllic life, begins to have vivid nightmares that seem to be predicting traumatic future events. When she has a premonition about daughter’s life being in danger, she does everything in her power to not overreact. Concurrently, a stranger enters her life and tries to convince her that she is not going crazy. As with all of Constantine’s books, this takes readers on a wild and twisty, suspense-filled ride with an outcome that is impossible to anticipate. For fans of Heather Gudenkauf and Megan Miranda.

Not my favorite of this author. It was so slow at the beginning and finally picked up at the end though. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for read and review

Lynne Constantine & her sister Valerie co-author under the pseudonym Liv Constantine. This is Lynne’s first solo psychological thriller & she has created a gripping memorable read which deserves all the praise.
It captured me from page one & I found myself immersed in the world she created which did not let me go until the shocking final twist.
If you like your psychological thrillers with well constructed characters, twisty twists and a hint of the supernatural you will love this book.
Favorite Lines:
“Just because someone breaks your heart doesn’t mean you stop having feelings for them.”
“…but she’d allowed herself to mistake feeling safe for feeling loved.”
Thank you NetGalley, Bantam Publishing & the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Don’t Open Your Eyes, by Liv Constantine, is an addictive, compulsive, psychological thriller that I did not want to stop reading. This well-written, cleverly plotted story is compelling, fast-paced, and a quick read. It kept me guessing, surprised me, entertained me, and ultimately satisfied me with its conclusion.
This is a story about a woman who has unusual dreams that seem to be predicting her future. She dreams haunting things about her life and her family and does everything in her power to keep them from happening. These dreams, however, reveal problems in her own life, secrets from the past, and connections that do, in fact, change the course of her life.
This was such an intriguing story, though I do wish we received a bit more explanation for the cause of her dreams. But this latest release from this author-duo did not disappoint. Don’t Open Your Eyes is a perfect book to read as a palate cleanser, a beach read, or to get you out of a book slump. It is a lot of fun and one you won’t want to miss.

Liv Constantine’s Don’t Open Your Eyes lures you in with a deliciously unsettling premise: Annabelle, the picture-perfect wife, mother, and professional, begins experiencing prophetic dreams that unravel her glossy reality. The dreams are not just figments—they are deeply foreboding glimpses into a life where everything she holds dear collapses. What would you do if your dreams started dictating your reality?
At the heart of the novel lies a haunting question: Can we change our fate, or are we simply sleepwalking into it? This question pulses through Annabelle’s every move as she struggles to make sense of visions that shift from odd to outright terrifying. When her daughter Scarlett becomes the target of a life-threatening premonition, the stakes go from ominous to urgent.
Now, let’s talk pacing—this one's a slow-burn, and not the kind that quietly smolders until it explodes. The first half dwells heavily in dreamscapes and domestic friction. Annabelle’s husband’s overbearing tendencies feel a bit trope-heavy, and Scarlett’s dalliance with the mysterious “Ben” hits some predictable beats. The multi-POV structure and timeline shifts should build tension, but if you’re a seasoned Constantine reader (or a veteran of twisty thrillers), you may find yourself a few steps ahead of the narrative. That big reveal halfway through? You probably saw it coming.
One of the novel’s stronger elements is how it blurs the lines between supernatural foresight and psychological intuition. Are Annabelle’s dreams truly prophetic, or is her subconscious waving red flags about things she refuses to confront? That ambiguity makes for a compelling internal struggle—even if the external stakes occasionally feel soft.
As always with Liv Constantine, the writing is clean and elegant, with a setting that exudes subtle charm. There’s a lived-in richness to the world that makes even the mundane feel laced with tension. You can tell this story was carefully crafted, even if the beats don’t always land with maximum punch.
Don't Open Your Eyes is a thoughtful exploration of fate, control, and maternal instinct, wrapped in the trappings of a domestic thriller. It might not be Constantine’s most gripping work, but it’s a solid addition for fans who enjoy the slow unraveling of secrets beneath suburban serenity. If you’ve ever questioned whether dreams are trying to tell you something—you’ll feel right at home here.

Another great book. I enjoyed the characters and the story line. Enough twists and turns to keep me in suspense.

🅣🅗🅞🅤🅖🅗🅣🅢: Suspenseful. Hard to put down. Slow burned right into a WILD ride. Chilling visions. Multiple POVs and timelines. This book was full of twists you THINK you see coming.✨
Thanks for the early read!

Anabelle is having nightmares. And when they start coming true, she, as expected, freaks out. I mean, who wouldn't? As her husband dismisses her premonitions, Anabelle becomes even more concerned. The book has two timelines. In the present, there is an occasional reference to something in Anabelle's past and the second timeline goes back to her days in college, leading up to her meeting and marrying her husband, James. To add even more depth to the story, we also get chapters from Anabelle's teenage daughter and a mysterious "wife." Oh there are bad things coming and you are forced to keep turning the page because even if you think you might possibly know what is coming, there is no way you actually know what is coming! This is another sleep loser book!

Can dreams really be premonitions? Or do our dreams expose our subconscious thoughts and concerns? Either way, Annabelle’s dreams appear to be coming to life. Events are happening that she never would have expected - IF she hadn’t already dreamed about them first. Now her seemingly perfect life is beginning to crumble around her as more and more secrets are revealed.
Once again Liv Constantine has written a page-turner full of unexpected twists and turns, and the rollercoaster ride continues right up to the very end. Just when I thought I had it figured out, another surprise was right around the corner. Constantine is a master of domestic thrillers and Don’t Open Your Eyes does not disappoint.
Thank you Random House and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to randomhouse publisher, Netgalley and for the authors to allow me to read this book. I am a fan of these two authors who write these thrillers. These books are captivating, and hard to put down. This thriller was good I enjoy their writing. it kept me engaged. Annabelle has a secret from her past that was revealed later in the book. The characters were awesome the storyline was intriguing it kept me guessing to the end. I look forward to reading other books from these authors.

This is bonkers. Annabelle is having dreams where something horrible occurs- and then it happens in real life. Her 15 year old daughter Scarlett is chatting on the Internet with a boy in Chicago. Her life is good at work where she's just been assigned to work with Chase, a podcaster. And then it all goes sideways. This moves back and forth in time to tell Annabelle's story but the action is in the preset. It all feels very out there but the twist is really really out there. This is hard to review without spoilers but know that you'll root for Annabelle and for Scarlett. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's very much a popcorn page turner you can easily read in a day.

Thank you to Bantam Books/Penguin Random House and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of this book.
If you're looking for a fast-paced psychological thriller with romantic subplots to read this summer, look no further! This book is a page-turner, and I couldn't put it down. This book is a perfect selection for anyone who is just starting to get into thrillers, because does not contain a lot of violence, gore, or dark themes. The story is told in multiple POVs and dual timeline, and it follows the main character's struggles with relationships, family life, and a demanding career, while also uncovering secrets from her past.
Annabelle Reynolds is a wife, mother of two girls, and expert in social media marketing. Her family lives in Bayport Connecticut in a wealthy community. She begins having psychic dreams that cause her anxiety for the safety of her family. Her husband, James, is a doctor and does not believe in premonitions. Annabelle is convinced that her dream predictions are real, and she begins interfering with certain events to prevent bad things from happening. Meanwhile, her oldest daughter Scarlett is having friend troubles at school, and she begins chatting with a guy she met online. She begins lying and hiding things from her parents, and Annabelle has dreams about Scarlett being put in harm's way.
There are also chapters told from Annabelle's past, before she met James. She was dating her professor and also dealing with her mother's battle with Alzheimer's. As the story unfolds, we learn a bit about Annabelle's history and how she ended up where she is now. She also has an estranged relationship with her father who left when she was a child.
There are so many twists and turns in this book, and it kept me on the edge of my seat, especially towards the end. There are also short chapters told from the perspective of "The Wife," but we do not know who the wife is for most of the book. The conclusion of the story will have you gasping and your head spinning, because the author uncovers twist after twist, and no one is who they seem.
I did have a few issues with this book, which is the reason it did not get a five-star rating. This was my first book by this author, and I was not a huge fan of her writing style. It felt very basic, dry, and ordinary. To describe it best, I did not highlight a single passage or sentence in this book. There were not any thought-provoking or memorable quotes.
I felt like there was too much back and forth between first-person and third-person points of view. Annabelle's chapters (past and present) and Scarlett's chapters (present) were told in third person, but any paragraphs describing Annabelle's dreams were changed to first person. Additionally, "The Wife" chapters were in first person. It was a bit disruptive to the flow of the narration.
Finally, there were some characters that either seemed unnecessary or their character arcs were left unfinished. I wanted to know more about what happened with the father and Randy. Her best friend Kiera seemed like an unnecessary character. Dylan, the babysitter, was discussed a lot in the beginning but also seemed to disappear. The neighbors were introduced, including the new neighbor Juliana, but then they did not appear again in the book. The ending felt a bit rushed and all over the place like she was trying to hash out a million details in one breath.
Overall, I cannot deny that this book was un-put-down-able, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves thrillers or is looking to dip their toe in the thriller pool for the first time. It wasn't a literary masterpiece in my opinion, but it was a fun, salacious, and quick read!

This is our book club pick for this month and I'm so pleased it was actually a good one! We have been on a real dud roll. I liked the supernatural element that a short time ago, I may have seen as something crazy, but recently come to realize isn't so outlandish. Kept me interested from the jump and has topics I feel our club can chat about. Will recommend.

Annabelle is happy. She has a great marriage, 2 wonderful daughters, and a career she loves. But Annabelle has started having dreams with tragic endings. And when details from her dreams start to come true, she's wondering if the decisions she makes can change the outcome of the future. But can we really change our destiny?
A psychological thriller with several POV's making you guess who is a reliable narrator, who is keeping secrets, and who the real 'villain' is.
The last quarter of this book was a page-turner. I wanted to rush to finish it to find out all the twists and reveals. An entertaining thriller with a unique premise!

Full of twists and turns, this book kept me engaged and entertained, but in the end, it was just OK. Don’t get me wrong. I did like the book. It’s a page-turner that I was able to finish pretty quickly and didn’t feel like I was wasting my time after all was said and done.
The premise of the story was intriguing. Annabelle is having strange dreams that are starting to come true. Is she really seeing the future in her dreams? Or are they just premonitions or manifestations of her fears and anxieties? Can her decisions really keep these dreams from coming true?
Constantine’s writing style is easy to read, captured my attention and held it throughout the entire book. I couldn’t put it down, knowing there were twists and turns to figure out. I figured out some of it about halfway through. However, the ending left me slightly unsatisfied. It felt rushed and got a little confusing as it took more and more somewhat predictable twists and turns.
Overall, I gave it 3 stars, much like the rest of her books. I like them and I would recommend them, but wouldn’t say drop everything and start reading this book now.
Thank you NetGalley and Bantam Books for the advance reader’s copy in exchange for my honest review.
A note on how I rate books:
⭐️ Hated it. Don’t even bother.
⭐️⭐️ Didn’t like it. Wouldn’t recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Liked it. Would recommend, but no rush.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really liked it! Make this one of the next few books you read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved it! Drop what you’re doing and read this now (or go ahead and finish what you’re reading and make this the next book)!

Annabelle seems to have the perfect life: handsome doctor husband, two beautiful daughters, and a successful career as a social media manager. Out of nowhere, her life is thrown into chaos when she starts having disturbing dreams (nightmares really) – and then the events in her dreams start playing out in real life, putting her and her family in danger.
This quick, entertaining domestic suspense is perfect for tossing in your beach bag or reading on an airplane en route to your summer vacation. The short chapters and multiple POVs (Annabelle, her daughter Scarlet, and a third POV titled “The Wife”) keep the pages turning. Seasoned thriller/suspense readers may see some of the twists coming, but there were some that surprised me too. It's a fun read despite some minor quibbles (no explanation for the dreams/premonitions, some stilted dialogue).
