Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for this E-ARC.
I loved “The last Mrs Parrish” and “The next Mrs Parrish” so I was unbelievably excited to receive and
early copy of this book. And now I’m sad. This was okay. It was just so much happening at the same time. I was confused and then the last 20% was sooooo slow. I felt like I was walking through quicksand trying to get to the end of this book. I will still continue to read Liv Constantine’s book, I’m just a little disappointed by this one.

In *Don’t Open Your Eyes*, Liv Constantine delivers a psychological thriller centered on Annabelle, a woman with what appears to be a perfect life: a devoted husband, two daughters, and a satisfying career. When vivid, unsettling dreams begin to blur the line between fiction and reality, Annabelle is forced to question everything she thought she knew.
I had the opportunity to read an advance copy before the official release. The novel starts strong with short, consumable chapters that made it incredibly easy to stay engaged. That early momentum, however, falters midway through when the story leans heavily into the trope of the unreliable woman and a controlling man whose influence is obvious to the reader from the outset.
The pacing picks up again toward the conclusion, though it escalates into full-blown soap opera territory. A series of implausible twists paired with the icky pregnancy/childbirth storyline lost me entirely by that point. I’m just not a fan of that trope. Despite that, I’m absolutely certain the story will appeal to fans of fast-paced domestic thrillers and readers who enjoy the unpredictable drama found in Freida McFadden's novels.
While it ultimately wasn't a perfect fit for me, the book has moments of genuine suspense and sharp writing that will no doubt find the right audience.

LConstantin, blink twice if you wrote this under duress.
I’m a fan and this is the worst book I’ve read by her to date. It’s full of plot holes; mind you, I’m not one who notes plot holes and the like, I usually ignore them and just go with the flow. Hard to do that here because the premise is a MAJOR PLOT HOLE! Annabelle’s dreams is this book’s major plot driver and it wasn’t addressed. Women are intuitive and there’s Deja vu however, that’s not the case here! It’s psychic to the point where that’s how the mystery was solved! How?! Is she psychic? Can time travel?
Then there are all these convenient plot devices that just screamed lazy writing to me! In a world where everything is filmed, how can a place DOWNTOWN suddenly not have cameras? And as things fall apart, every finger and toe is suddenly pointing to someone smart, very knowledgeable about the law, instrumental in the case, and yet didn’t take a plea deal? Even the witnesses in Diddy’s trial asked for immunity and this one didn’t?
Anyway, if you’re planning on reading this don’t overthink it, take everything at face value and hopefully you’re able to ignore the details that way you get to enjoy this.

Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is a whirlwind of twists and turns that kept me flipping pages. While I found the premise intriguing and appreciated the fast-paced nature of the story, the writing style didn’t quite resonate with me. By the end, the plot took some wild turns that felt a bit too far-fetched. Overall, it’s an easy and quick read for those who love a suspenseful ride, even if it left me a bit dizzy! I’d give it 3.5 stars.

i’m torn on how to write this review. the book was so engaging and i read it so quickly because i was into it, but i did find it pretty predictable and i felt like the dreams could’ve been excluded and it still would’ve been a good book. giving it four stars because i was still super invested and couldn’t put it down!

Don't Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine releases June 17th! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you have been a fan of Liv Constantine (the pen name of sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine - which I think is SO cool!!) 👯♀️since the days of The Last Mrs. Parrish, get your seatbelts on for this ride, this was a good one! 🎢
Don't Open Your Eyes is about Annabelle, a mom of two who has her dream life and family, who starts having wild and realistic dreams that begin to come true. As details from the dreams start happening in real life, Annabelle grapples with whether she's lost it. When Annabelle dreams that her daughter is in danger, she has to make some drastic decisions. ⛷️
Told through different points of view and timelines, DOYE had me jumping around to crazy conclusions. At the 62% mark I was like "I figured it out!!"... and still got got! This is why I love a good psychological thriller and this definitely delivered. 🫶🏻
I don't love a missing child story, so while I was nervous going in I didn't feel like it was an impediment. 👌🏻
This was masterfully done, truly unputdownable! 🤩

Annabelle is what you would consider perfect with her beautiful daughter and husband. But then she starts to have dreams where harm is coming to her child or her husband and she starts to freak out. She isnt sure what is going on but it gets worse when some parts of these nightmares start to come true. Then all of a sudden she has a dream where someone wants her daughter dead and she doesnt know why or who. Annabelle starts to question everything and in turn her life starts to turn upside down.
This was such a twisty and thrilling book and I didnt want to put it down. The twist and turns and the difference between what is real and what isnt was so interesting. There were moments in this book I wasnt even sure what was real. I would highly recommend.

3.5 stars
This was a fun thriller with multiple points of view and a dual timeline that kept me guessing. There were a lot of moving parts, and it was really fun trying to guess how they’d all come together in the end.

Liv Constantine is one of my auto-buy authors – anything she writes, I'll read! This one wasn't a favorite, though I did like it. Not sure about the premise – dreams becoming reality, psychological thriller...🤔 The pace was okay, dual timeline was easy to follow. Liked the characters and the twists & turns – the last few chapters really picked up! Overall, 3.25 stars ✨
Thanks to @netgalley & @penguinrandomhouse for the ARC

What a fun, twisty read! Instantly connected with the characters and wanted this book to keep going! Another fabulous Liv Constantine book that you won't want to put down!

Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is a thrilling, fast-paced read that had me hooked from the very first page. What I loved the most was how the author kept the tension high throughout. Just when I thought I had figured things out, another twist would throw me off course. It kept me guessing right up until the final chapter—and even then, I was still reeling.
Thank you u Netgalley and the publishers for pulling me out of my reading slump with this ARC. #Netgalley #dontopenyoureyes

Goodreads: Annabelle's dreams are predicting the future, but will everything she dreams come true?
As the chapters went on, I began questioning whether Annabelle was somehow detached from reality. I started to feel like she was crazy, but then I started to feel crazy -- which is why I think I enjoyed this book. I liked the inclusion of her daughter's perspective and storyline, and the plot kept me guessing.
However, I only gave it 3 stars (I'd probably give it 3.5 if I could) because I just felt that it was a lot of filler even for a popcorn thriller. I think the book could have been edited by 50 pages and still kept the same storyline but set a faster pace. I also understand that Scarlett is just a teenager -- but her conversations with Avery and Ben felt a bit unrealistic.

Instagram: I posted to my stories that I finished reading this book, included the cover photo, added a note that this was an arc, and said "Perfect thriller for a plane ride home from vacation." I also tagged Random House Publishing and Ballantine Books.

Liv Constantine thrillers have been a season pass for me ever since reading The Last Mrs. Parish. Whenever a new book comes out, it is an automatic add to my TBR. I was so excited to be given an ARC copy of Don’t Open Your Eyes!
Annabelle, a successful professional, mother, and wife, is being plagued by unsettling dreams. While trying to process them, she is startled to discover that her dreams are not only predicting the future, but perhaps trying to reveal a darker reality at play in her life.
This story was told through multiple timelines and points of view. This kept the story moving and the mystery elements layered without being confusing. There were lots of twists, turns, and surprises and I did not guess the biggest reveal. The timing of this book release makes it a great pool/beach vacation read.

SYNOPSIS
-Annabelle Reynolds seems to have it all: great marriage, sweet kids, a job she actually likes.
-But then she starts having intense dreams—nightmares, really—where her family is in danger and her whole life is off the rails.
-She brushes it off… until some of the details start happening in real life.
-One dream shows her daughter Scarlett in immediate danger. Annabelle has no idea who’s behind it or how to stop it.
-The big question becomes: can she change the future, or is she stuck on a path she can’t avoid?
⸻
MY THOUGHTS
-Told from three POVs: Annabelle, Scarlett, and a mysterious “wife.”
-The short chapters kept things moving, even when the plot got a little wild.
-You’ll need to fully suspend disbelief for this one. Big soap opera energy.
-The supernatural element didn’t really work for me. Wasn’t a fan.
-The writing was super straightforward. Not bad, just pretty basic.
-It was predictable. I saw most of the twists coming.
-Nothing stuck with me after finishing. Not bad, just… kind of forgettable.
⸻
TL;DR: ⭐️⭐️⭐️A fast-paced domestic thriller with some supernatural flair that leans hard into melodrama. Fun enough if you want something mindless and dramatic, but don’t expect anything deep or groundbreaking.

This thriller was so unique! A woman starts having nightmares and those nightmares start coming true. I always am chilled by stories where the FMC is unsure is she’s losing her mind or not.

Great book and story line. Keeps you on your toes guessing what's going to happen next.
Thanks for the opportunity to read ARC

thank you to NetGalley and Random House for the ARC!
I am so sorry to be this mean, but this book is so bad it made me want to give up reading (don't worry I'm not going to do that). the prose is absolutely inexcusably bad, maybe the worst I have ever read in a seriously published book, and quite honestly I don't think it should be published in the state it's in. here's an example, which will sound like a massive spoiler but I promise it isn't:

She pulls the lighter from her pocket and flicks it. A loud boom! Fire engulfs the room. Black smoke everywhere. Windows shatter, debris flies, everyone is screaming.
I can't catch my breath. It's so horrible. And then the screen goes blank. Next. A news story. A gas leak in a local medical office caused by a crack in the gas line. No survivors.
I scream, tears running down my face. Nooooooooo.

now this quote is especially bad but it's not like the rest of the book is any better. but do you see what I mean? this reads like far more of an outline that a good writer would detail in later with actual emotions (besides writing out the "o" in "no" 9 times) than something that should actually be published.
as far as the plot goes, I was so intrigued by the summary of this book and immediately and happily downloaded it upon getting the ARC... but it's so boring. I recently praised It Should Have Been You for how it very cleverly let the reader know more than any individual character in the book, which made for a lot of great irony and very dark humor that super fit that book. well, this book shows you why it's so hard to pull that off, because the reader tends to know more than most characters here too, but it makes chapters and reveals very boring because the author doesn't know how to put any tension in so you're just waiting for the idiotic characters to catch on. the twists are not particularly interesting and you will probably see them coming ahead of time, which isn't a death knell to any book honestly, but in a book that's already this bad it's doing it no favors.
boy. I thought it was going to be really hard to beat Silver Elite and Parents Weekend in terms of terrible books. but it took me, what, less than a month to find this one?
I am sorry to Liv Constantine and her dogs, which I'm sure are very cute, but so far this is the worst book of the year, with absolutely inexcusable prose even for a popcorn thriller and nothing else to recommend it either.

This was another winner by Liv Constantine ! I could not put the book down - I have read all of their books and this one was very propulsive ! Highly recommended !

Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine was a fast-paced, popcorn thriller that definitely had moments of intrigue. If you’re looking for something quick and easy to fly through on a weekend, this one fits the bill.
That said, the overall execution fell flat for me. The writing felt a bit unsophisticated, and some of the dialogue was downright cringey and felt like it was written by AI or a middle schooler. I struggled to connect with the main character—her cluelessness made it hard to stay invested.
I was also a bit disappointed with the lack of closure on the déjà vu element, why was it happening? Did it just go away?? Ultimately, it had potential, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations after The Last Mrs. Parrish.

My first by this author and won’t be the last!! I devoured it in 2 sittings! While some parts were not totally unpredictable to a frequent thriller reader, the last 1/4 of the book really was absolutely amazing!! All the angles and pieces were so entertaining as they came together. A great multiple perspective/timeline story that was easy to follow, well written, and definitely hooked me! Would definitely recommend this one. Thank you NetGalley and Random House/Bantam for this ARC copy!!
