My Dark Prince is a great continuation of the Dark Prince Road series! This story follows Briar and Oliver this time around. The banter between the two throughout the book is amazing, and who doesn’t love a classic Disney retelling? The book is well written and faced paced so it is sure to keep your attention and leave you wanting to read more and more just to find out what’s going to happen.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t for me. I usually don’t like billionaire romances but childhood sweethearts turned enemies to lovers with a side of amnesia sounded really interesting. And the beginning was a lot of fun, but after that things got so ridiculous. I hated how Briar spends the entire book hating Oliver for abandoning her but then she just randomly decides to forgive him. And Oliver’s reasoning for abandoning her was so dumb. Especially when he knew she literally had no one in her life except him. If I was Briar, I would have been even more pissed after I found out the reason.

The side characters were also really annoying. Maybe I would have felt differently if I had read the other books in this series, but too much time was spent on the side characters. Like entire chapters were just group texts.. I just didn’t care about these characters at all. Everyone was rich and spoiled. And they were all so dramatic. Especially, Sebastian. Bragging about the private planes you own and flying across the country just to get fried chicken and beignets was insufferable imo and just further proof that billionaire romances aren’t my thing.

Also, this book was way too long! The audiobook was over 17 hours long. There were so many times that I wanted to dnf this book, but I pushed through. However, the audiobook was great. Both narrators did an amazing job.

3.5 stars. It was a bit long. I liked many of the side characters. The audiobook was a good read but a lot of this felt like a slog

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

A gripping slow burn, romance, steeped in angst and intensity. My dark Prince explores the dark side of love, redemption, and personal demons. Huntington and Shen expertly weave a tale of complex characters that are flawed, magnetic, and emotionally raw. The story draws readers into a world where passion and pain go hand and hand. If you enjoy morally gray heroes, messy love stories, and powerful emotional journeys, this one will keep you hooked from start to finish.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

Ollie and Briar’s story was so worth the wait. Childhood best friends turned lovers, torn apart by betrayal, and then thrown back together with an amnesia twist? Yeah, I was hooked. Although I was a little perplexed because I was expecting Frankie to be the heroine, I was left pleasantly surprised.

I’m not usually into the memory-loss trope, but it was done just right here—enough to mess with the emotions without dragging the plot. Their chemistry was undeniable. You can feel the history between them in every scene—playful, sharp, aching.

Briar is a standout. Smart, bold, a little chaotic in the best way. And Ollie? A wreck of a man trying to make things right. Watching them fight, flirt, and fall again was addictive. The fake fiancée angle added the perfect tension.

The friend group was a fun, chaotic mess, and Sebastian? Lowkey stole every scene he was in. I need more of him.

It lagged a bit in the middle, but the payoff hit hard. Emotional, messy, a little dramatic—but totally satisfying.

Definitely one of my favorites in the series.

The audiobook was amazing! Best narration I've heard in a while. I was really vibing with the story.

I knew — from the very moment Oliver showed up in the first book of this series — that I was going to fall in love with his character 😮‍💨. And guess what? I was so right. This man is the definition of the playboy-who’s-actually-a-golden-retriever 🐶💘. The whole flirty facade? Just a cover. Because deep down, this man has only ever loved one person — Briar 🥺.

Reading the chapters that switch between past and present was absolutely heartbreaking 💔. Seeing what they went through… it hurt, but in that perfect, angsty romance way 😩🖤.

Now, let’s talk about Sebastian... I don’t care if Oliver and Briar forgave him, I did NOT 😤. He was selfish, stupid, and honestly? He can stay in the corner. No redemption arc from me 🚫🙅‍♀️.

BUT — aside from that — I truly loved Oliver & Briar’s story 💛. The banter, the flirting, the history… it was all there and it worked. So well.

And of course, seeing the couples from the previous two books and the whole found family on Dark Prince Road? PERFECTION 🥰🏡. It was the perfect way to wrap up this series and honestly… it’s my favorite of them all 🏆📚.

I enjoyed this one, but I was hoping for a little more connection between the main characters. I was also hoping for some a little darker given the title. I did really enjoy the narration and audiobook.

Another amazing, addictive and emotionally charged book in the Dark Prince Road series. This has become one of my favorite series by LJ and Parker. Great performance by the narrators, great character development, all around fantastic book. I was completely hooked from start to finish!

5 STARS!

The Dark Prince Road series never fails! Another LOL hilarious dark comedy with spicy romance and a cast of characters all equipped with just a pinch of moral bankruptcy. They are an irresistible bunch and I desperately hope we get a Seb book (and his leading lady better be Frankie or I might riot)!

I wanted to like this one so much more. I’ve really enjoyed L.J. Shen’s Truly, Madly, Deeply, but after reading both My Dark Romeo and now My Dark Prince, I think this series just isn’t for me.

This book felt like it went on forever—and not in a good way. It was long, but not a lot actually happened. I didn’t feel much chemistry between Briar and Oliver, and I found myself not really rooting for them as a couple. Their relationship didn’t feel particularly loving or redemptive, and it was hard to believe in their reconnection. That said, the humor in this book (and the series overall) is definitely a high point. There were moments that genuinely made me laugh, and I appreciated the sharp, snarky tone throughout.

I also wish there had been more emotional weight, especially when it came to Seb. His storyline felt unresolved, and considering how involved he was in both of their lives, I really wanted to see more of a conclusion for him. Maybe his story is coming in another book—but I felt like he was left hanging a bit.

I listened to the audiobook for this one and thought the narrators did a great job. My only minor issue was that I kept hearing “son” instead of “Sun” as a last name, and it wasn’t until I was nearly done with the book that I realized who they were actually referring to—definitely more of a me problem than a narrator issue.

Overall, this had some entertaining moments, but it didn’t quite land for me.

Thanks to Dreamscape, I could listen to this audiobook, which was truly an experience. Christian Fox & Andi Arndt did an amazing job getting all the feelings in a row. It was so balanced that I did enjoy it a lot more than I would have while reading myself. The story is quite gripping and had me curious about the past and the present.

Unfortunately, I did read a few reviews before diving in, and that made me question the main character and I was glad that I didn’t read the first few books because I got to see how much biased those reviews were, and in my opinion, Oliver is a sweetheart, no questions asked. He is perfect, and I know that in real life also we are dealt the cards we have no say over. So he’s just misunderstood, sweet guy.

Conversations with Briar or of Briar are always fun to see, and how they both met again for the start of their second chance is so different and entertaining that I had a great laugh. Their moments felt precious. The narrator did get all those feelings on point and gave me butterflies. Now I am very much determined to meet Romeo and Zach in their own books, which, btw I own right now.

LJ Shen and Parker S Huntington really got all their ducks in a row and let the readers have a great time. They are talented, and that shows in their beautiful stories. Hats off. I love all the books, and I’m excited to see if Seb is getting his own book. He deserves his happy ending, too, after all the things he suffered. Happy reading.

A little spicy romance with a hint of a fairy tale. When Briar Rose loses her memory only her boyfriend from 15 years ago is there. She doesn’t remember that he was no longer with her and that she essentially hated his guts. A fun book with humor and spice.

"Though I knew, deep inside, that trauma leaves permanent marks. Distance just lets us see how far we’ve come."

And boy distance really show how far they've come! I absolutely loved Briar and Ollie's story! A little enemies to lover, sleeping beauty retelling! This story really portrayed how Ollie has grown since the last book! The character growth over all was excellent and how the others supported them throughout it all was a true testament to family!

Now give us Seb's story!!!

Narrating was excellent for one Andi is a favorite of mine. Christian is fairly new to me but did a good job.

The story Oliver and Briar was an interesting pair. Her having amnesia interesting storyline btw. She is unaware that they are what he has made them out to be. However these E2L keep it interesting with the twists and chemistry. But it is so worth reading.

I'm love this group of psychos! Can Seb get his own book please & thank you!

Tropes on steroids.

This book is what happens when an author looks at a list of every romance trope ever created and says, "Yes. All of them." Childhood friends to lovers? Check. Enemies to lovers? Of course. Amnesia? Naturally. Fake engagement? Billionaire? Second chance? Virgins?! The only thing missing was an identical twin or switched at birth. No wait! I can do better! It's missing a accidental pregnancy!

Oliver, sweetie… Why are you acting like Briar is the epic love of your life when you spent two whole books being a certified manwhore? Make it make sense. The cheesy dialogue in this book is unreal and quite a lot. "You’re not a chapter in my life. You’re the whole damn story." Sir, please. My Kindle/Ears physically cringed. Ears because I listened to the 17 hour long audiobook! (Drown me.)

In conclusion, this book is unnecessarily long, like it was written on a dare to see how many tropes could fit into a single story. We did not need 20+ tropes battling for dominance. I spent half my time listening to it and the other half debating whether I should DNF and move on with my life. Would I recommend it? Only if you have the patience of a saint and a high tolerance for very very very long books.
