Storm Fall by Tracy Banghart is the follow up to Rebel Wing and picks up a few months after the events at the end of book one. Please note that there may be minor spoilers to that book in this review. Read at your own risk. Aris is recovering from her injuries after helping Milek save his mother across enemies lines. Outed as female, she is no longer welcome in the all-male military, and honestly is a bit lost as a result. Flying is what she knows, and Aris is no longer content to fly over the fields at home after what she has seen in battle. When the law is changed in honor of her sacrifice and women are allowed to be in the military, Milek invites Aris back. It’s up to her to decide what she wants.
I think I enjoyed this one more than the first. There were no secrets. Aris doesn’t have to hide who she is, and she can do what she loves: fly. I especially enjoyed the character growth we see here. She is so far from the fragile girl we met at the beginning of book one. Even with her new injuries, she is learning to cope and that she is stronger than she appears.
Her relationship with Milek is complicated and sweet all at the same time. I loved seeing their friendship blossom. In addition to that, I liked seeing how Aris fit back into her troop as a woman instead of the man she was disguised as. The dynamics shifted, but not in an altogether bad way. Some were supportive and others were not, very true to life.
Overall, I enjoyed Storm Fall. I loved the character growth and the action packed plot. Highly recommend for fans of sci-fi and dystopians.

I really enjoyed book 1 and felt the same about book 2. It stays thoughtful about war and its effects, while maintaining readability and not getting too too heavy. This is a solid series for fans of YA scifi, which can be surprisingly hard to find.

After reading the first book I was a bit nervous whether the second would stand up to it....well my worry was unfounded! This book continues the characters lives with just as much excitement and strength as the first. The characters continue to develop and the relationships get stronger.
I can't wait for the third book!!!!
