Another amazing book in the hell bent series . I was waiting to see my favorite demon get a girl and get to tell his story (the fact that his girl is like an Irish version of me made me grin even more ) I mean I absolutely love the way iris and meph talk to each other . The spice scenes are my favorite of the series by far and I think I know where the next one will lead …. At least I hope 🤞🏼 but man meph was the demon I craved to know more about and to see the stories intertwine and the characters evolve from side characters to main character. Iris is lilies twin sister from the last book . The way the villain in mephs life is also iriss villain . The way they get a HEA is just chefs kiss . I’m so ready to read the rest of
This series it will definitely be auto by for me. Meph covered in tattoos with his silly little attitude. I was just waiting to see his demon form and man did it impress. I was so stuck on this book. I went the whole 12 hour book maybe pausing a couple times I couldn’t stop reading it. This series is delectable. The spice is amazing. The storyline is so intricate and the way every story follows. The next is just perfect. I cannot wait for the next one to come out and I will be waiting for September for my guardian demon.

I haven't read ANY of the other books but it didn't affect my reading at all. This was so much fun. Delicious spice filled with blushing banter had me obsessed right off the bat. I loved the build the relationship between Meph and Iris. The obvious attraction and full blown love affair that became their relationship was so fun. The way they were unintentionally bonding with one another throughout the book was so freaking cute.
I enjoyed learning more about hell and where the demons came from (admittedly I would know more if I read the other books which is now HIGH on my TBR) and seeing the "darker" more unhinged version of Meph. Demons can only be contained for so long and l liked the balance he had of his human and demon form. All of this was very fun!

Tropes:
- Found Family
- Demon x Witch
- Golden Retriever x Black Cat vibes
- Healing from trauma
- Demon puppy!!
This was such a fun read. I think *some* people won’t enjoy this book as much if you don’t like the MC being a straight up asshole to the other MC and admittedly this got in my nerves at some points.
I absolutely loved sweet Meph. He’s definitely a smile and joke through the pain type of guy. I enjoyed the fact that he didn’t let Iris’ prickly personality deter him from getting to know her. And my gods the banter and dirty talk. It had me giggling and sweating.
I’m also really really glad Iris was finally able to heal from her childhood trauma and realize that maybe she wasn’t the best person at times. I think her healing journey was incredibly relatable for those who struggle with self doubt/hatred.
I absolutely can’t wait to see which characters Aurora decides to pair together next! ☺️

😈💙 DEMON WITH BENEFITS 💙😈
by Aurora Ascher
📖 Hell Bent #3 | Kensington Publishing

Enemies-to-lovers? Check. Found family? Check. Tentacle tongue? Oh, we’re so back.

Meph, tattooed, red-eyed, quick with a joke, is the Hell Bent crew’s resident chaos demon. Humor is his armor, but Iris, the blue-haired witch with a razor-sharp temper, keeps slipping past it. She’s sworn off commitment after her toxic ex, but she can’t seem to resist the bad-boy demon who flirts like it’s his job.

They agree to keep it casual. No strings. No feelings. Just scorching heat.
(Reader: they caught feelings.)

When an old enemy rises, Meph’s darkness and Iris’s fears collide, forcing them to face the truth: to win, they have to stop running and not just from each other, but from themselves.

✨ Why You’ll Love It:
💋 Enemies-to-lovers with explosive chemistry
🔥 Beauty & the Beast meets paranormal monster romance
🎯 Found-family banter with the demon brothers
🎨 Vulnerability & emotional growth amid chaos
💥 Explicit spice (tentacle tongue fans, rise up)
💘 HEA that feels earned after an emotional rollercoaster

And yes for my Deluxe Limited Edition readers, you’re getting stenciled edges, full-color inside covers, designed chapter headers, and a foiled case with bonus content.

If you weren’t already claiming your favorite Hell Bent brother… fair warning: after this one, Meph might just ruin you for the rest.

💬 QOTD: Are you ride-or-die for one specific Hell Bent demon, or are you collecting them all?

Demon with Benefits by Aurora Ascher

This series is so much fun to read! I think this book had more plot and action than the previous ones, which kept me even more engaged. Iris is a total badass witch with her walls up, but I loved watching her slowly open up to her little demon. Their dynamic was great!

I was also lucky enough to receive the ALC, narrated by Kirsten Leigh. The narration was fantastic, full of emotion and really well performed. It added an extra layer to the story that I really appreciated.

Also, random thought: since the main character has blue hair, I was low-key wondering why this book wasn’t the blue one in the series instead of book two. 😂

Thank you to NetGalley, RBmedia, Recorded Books, and Kensington Publishing for the ALC & eARC!

Demon with benefits is the third book in the hellbent series by Aurora Asher. Each book in this series gets better than the last! I was waiting for Meph’s story since the first book and it did not disappoint. The funny, tattooed, scary on the outside but soft on the inside MMC is a perfect book boyfriend. In this one, he meets his match in Iris who is a witch who doesn’t want anything serious after having disastrous relationships in the past.

The banter between all the characters had me laughing, and the found family vibes between them all was heartwarming. The chemistry between me and Iris had me sweating. It was hot, hot, hot. I cannot get enough of this series, and if you are looking for a spicy enemies to lovers PNR that will leave you breathless., This is it!

This was hot. 🥵

Okay so, not the biggest point, but hey I was here for it!! I really enjoyed the spice in this book and the way that the MC’s finally just gave in to that part.

For the first part of the book i honestly hated Iris… she was a very unlikable person with a very unlikable attitude and the way she treated my boy Meth. Ooooo I was so pissed. She did not deserve him. But she had great development and by the end I loved them as a couple.

Faust. Oh I loved that boy. I need one.

All in all a great spicy monster(?) romance.

Thank you Aurora Ascher, Kensington Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Annoyances to lovers
HEA
3.5-4 🌶️

Meph has zero % stood out to me in the rest of the series but this book makes you just fall in love with that freaky little tattooed demon. This was my favorite of the series so far and Meph is actively not my type IRL but he’s just so darn cute!

I have jumped around in this series a bit but pleased that it’s pretty solid as a standalone. It heavily references past books so things will be spoiled if you’re ok with that, which I am. It also provides some back story so you aren’t lost if you chose to read as a standalone.
This was by far the spiciest installment I’ve read of the Hell Bent series so far. It also had the most unique take on the relationship as well (as the title says… FWB, no feelings should be involved.. or so they say..). I also found that the demon stood out as well since unlike the others, Mephs demon is not human-ish as the others are. I like to see diversity throughout a series and this provided it! Excited for the rest!

Received this book from Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for my honest review. I will say this has been my favorite of the series so far! The story follows along Meph and Iris and their journeys of facing the things they have buried deep down about themselves. I really enjoyed the banter and character growth in the story! The story kept me intrigued and entertained the whole time!

This is book three in the Hell Bent series. While I haven't read the first two I still really enjoyed Demon with Benefits. You can read this as a stand alone but I definitely would recommend reading them in order so you have the back story for the other characters involved.

This story follows Meph, who definitely has some serious trauma and pain, and Iris, a witch who wants nothing to do with the demons her sister is involved with. Their relationship quickly moves from enemies to frenemies with benefits. They have a lot of chemistry so of course the no strings attached doesn't last long.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and loved all the banter and character growth. There is definitely some paranormal spicy elements so keep that in mind if monster smut isn't your thing.

I will be going back and reading the first two and then this one again!

This is book three in the Hell Bent series, and the moment I saw “dark humor” in the description, I was all in. The series features a cast of demon, witch, and human friends in a world of interconnected standalones—and this one zeroes in on Meph (a demon) and Iris (a witch), who absolutely do not get along.

Cue the tension. Cue the spice. Their “friends with benefits” arrangement kicks off fast, and things get veryyyyy heated from there.

This was a fun, laugh-out-loud kind of read with sharp banter and solid character growth. I haven’t read the first two books, and I do think I would’ve connected more deeply with the characters if I had, but it still worked as a standalone. My only wish? A bit less spice and a little more true enemies-to-lovers buildup.

That said—if you’re in the mood for a spicy, paranormal romance with humor, heat, and a dash of hellfire, this one might be right up your alley.

Oh my goodness!! I am in love with Meph and Iris!! I love that they got their own story, especially with how they met for the first time. And their story is spicy perfection!! Like, I need a cold shower level hotness! They have so much chemistry! It's almost an enemies to lovers, except they just went from hate to love. I especially love how their banter never really stops, it just evolves to dirty talking.
Character wise, the character development is beautiful! Iris helps Meph to accept all that he is. Even when she's afraid of his other self, she doesn't cower. And Meph helps Iris to move on and forgive herself. Both make each other realize that they are deserving of love and want it.
I laughed and cried. I think Iris and Meph are my favorite couple so far!

I feel like I should have definitely gone into this one having read the rest of the series and the books that came before Demon With Benefits, but I honestly had no idea that there were others until I was mid way through.
I don’t think it impacted the story too much, and it was definitely one that can be read as a stand alone, but I think knowing more about all of the different characters and their escape from hell and how they all came to be ‘friends’ would have made the reading experience 10x better.

Like I said, I went into this one super blind and had no real idea what was happening with the bigger plot, but everything was super easy to understand, and when there were details that needed explaining there was always a little bit of information given so that as the reader we weren’t left totally in the dark (especially if you jumped in mid series like I did)

I think all of the characters were pretty interesting, and it was clear that they have all grown together and have a pretty deep bond. It’s even more interesting to see that all of these different types of supernaturals are hanging out with each other even though they’re all meant to be enemies. There’s witches and demons obviously, but also mentions of hellhounds, angels, nephilim, gargoyles and so many more.
I have to be honest that hearing of so many different characters and how rich the world building is, it does make me quite excited to go back to the first books in the series and read more!

The main point of this one though was the romance between iris and Meph (a witch and a demon) and the romance between the two of them really came out of nowhere for me. Again, I know they already have a past because of the other books, but it really seemed like one moment they are hating each other and then out of nowhere it turns into the most intense sexual tension and they just can’t get enough of each other but it has to be strictly no feelings attached.

There is so much of the two of them spending time together and constantly getting freaky with each other before the rest of the plot kicks in (which was essentially a trip to hell via kidnapping, seeing true demon forms, and killing a bunch of evil demons) but it was actually a lot of fun, and then super cute when Meph admitted that he was catching feelings and freaking out about it before they got to have their happy ending!

Overall a really fun book, and I will totally be going back to read the ones before this!

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future

This enticing installment of the Hell Bent series has my heart a flutter. What is it about a bad boy, especially one with hellacious baggage (sorry, but I had to do it) that I am so enamored with? Add in no strings attached fun, and I’m definitely on board. “Demon with Benefits” was absolutely spicier and smuttier than its predecessors, but still character and story driven. However, take that with a grain of salt because I’m not opposed to smut for smut’s sake…

Iris and Meph’s POVs were superbly written. Both characters are so complicated emotionally with their tortured backgrounds, and that was very developed here. The author invested time in getting us to understand the underlying reasons for their behaviors. And I loved the banter in this! Meph and Iris pick on each other incessantly, but it’s not annoyingly harsh. It made me laugh without trying too hard to be funny.

The plot unfolded at a great pace; and I have to say, one of the things I appreciate about Ascher’s writing is that there isn’t a huge info dump at the beginning to recap the situations from prior books in the series. That shows an author’s deft hand. Previous events are woven into the story where it makes the most sense.

Overall a great addition to the series. Bring on the next one!

Meph & Iris? Okayyyyyy.
• He's a morally gray demon with tattoos, piercings (yes, everywhere 09), artistic talent, and the emotional range of a misunderstood antihero you can't help but fall for.
•She's a fierce, sharp tongued witch who gives as good as she gets!
The tension, the snark, and that hellhound pup? This book had me cackling and fanning myself at regular intervals. Between the steamy enemies to lovers arc, the chaotic cast of side characters, and the fast paced plot, I loved every page!
This demon romance gave me everything:
snarky banter sizzling chemistry emotional healing badass paranormal worldbuilding
a cinnamon roll demon wrapped in a sinfully hot package
If you're craving a spicy, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt supernatural romance add this one to your TBR! Whether you're a fan of demons, witches, found family, or just really good writing with lots of heat, this one delivers.
