The story was interesting and the spice was definitely steamy. I do wish I felt a little bit more invested in the main characters. Thank you to NetGalley & Kensington Publishing for giving me this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington for the arc of this book. Demon with Benefits is the third book in the Hell Bent series by Aurora Ascher. This books tells the story of Iris and Meph from both their points of view. We do get appearances throughout the story of Meph's brothers and their significant others as well as Iris's twin sister. This book finally sheds some light on the mysterious Meph and his backstory. This book is spicy but has a good story. I loved this book as much as I loved the first two in the series. I read it in two sittings. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

I loved this book so much!! Actually I'm loving this whole series so much!!! I was so excited to read about brooding goofball Meph and Lily's sister Iris. I had started to fall for the idea of them in Mist and Lily's story so I knew this one was going to be so good!

I absolutely love a tortured hero and Meph was perfection with his demon side. He had such a fun loving personality but he was hiding so much. He was so delightful with his snarky banter and witty quip. He had me smiling so many times.

I really liked and related to Iris. The guilt of past decisions and how much easier it is to just be hard on yourself. I enjoyed how much growth she showed and her ability to understand those around her. I also liked her determination and tenacity. She gave as good as she got with Meph.

I was hooked from the first page and never wanted to put it down. It was an entertaining and engaging story. It had exciting moments and tender times. It was emotional and heartfelt at times and witty and lighthearted at other times. A good blend of everything to create a wonderful story. I loved it and would highly recommend it!!

Woah. Just woah. This book is unlike ANYTHING I have ever read before. I went in completely blind, having never read any of her other works or any demon books in general, and I am not the same person I was when I started this.

If you’re looking for a book that will take your understanding of sex and its applications to an entirely new plane of existence- this book is for you. The story/plot was interesting. I liked the demon witch vibes and the characters had some mystical creature quirks that I haven’t come across before which is always fun. Oh, and there’s a cute hellhound.

This book is not deep, you’re not going to have your life changed, but you probably will put it down and have to sit and reflect for a solid twenty minutes after you finish it.

Tropes are enemies to lovers but also friends with benefits, and it also is an HEA? So yeah, dive in folks- it’s a wild ride!

This was such a fun read!

Meph was the standout for me - on the surface he’s the cheeky, tattooed play-boy demon, but underneath, there’s so much emotional depth. I loved that he was a sculptor, secretly creating these eerie, hellish pieces that reflected his trauma and demonic nature. It added such a unique depth to his character as a reflection of his inner world, and I really enjoyed how seriously he took his art, his brothers, and Iris, even if he tries to hide it behind humour.

Iris took a bit of warming up to - she’s sharp-tongued and guarded, but I appreciated her growth. Her journey toward unlearning her prejudices against demons, and her slow shift into vulnerability, made her arc feel earned. She and Meph handled their pain differently, but that contrast made them work so well together. Their chemistry was electric, and the spice in this one definitely turned up the heat!

Altogether, this was a solid instalment in the Hell Bent series - I’m looking forward to the next!

I was initially very worried about this book, because I did have some troubles with book 2 and found Iris incredibly annoying.

However, I was very pleasantly surprised and ended up really enjoying this. Sure, Iris still has that whole “wounded dog” attitude, which I am not a fan of, but I ended up warming up to her a tad by the end.

Meph was wonderful, I very much enjoyed his character arc. I do feel his story needed a bit more depth though. He’s portrayed as severely traumatised, but we don’t actually get to see why or how.

This series overall is a bit thin on the plot and world building, as it focuses on other stuff, but I am invested in knowing how it all will end.

Thank you Netgalley and Kingsington publishing for the arc.

A blue haired witch with more reason than most to hate demons and a reformed demon who hides his secrets behind a carefree persona, throw in quirky secondary characters and hellhound puppies what wasn’t there to love about Demons With Benefits. These two characters should’ve been enemies and Ivy made a concentrated attempt at keeping Mephistopheles at arms length but something about Ivy and her vicious tongue drew Meph to her in this dark romcom. I loved the dynamics between this pair. The push and pull of a sizzling attraction and the verbal sparring and flirting as they swung from dislike to almost ripping each other’s clothes off before settling for the détente of reluctant frenemies. I did wonder about where the Beauty and the Beast twist mentioned in the blurb would come in and then Meph’s inner demon came out to play and all became clear, and just saying I can understand why Beauty fell for her beast.

The character growth in both the hero and heroine over the course of this book was fantastic with a lot of emotional development not only for Ivy as she went from hating all things demon as she realised both this and her guilt over the loss of her parents was holding back her magic, but for Meph as well as he went from being ashamed of his demon to accepting it as part of him, realising he could co-exist with it like his brothers did with their entities. The overall storyline was fast and furious with its dark humour as an old enemy emerged, determined to reclaim Mephistopheles and drag him back to hell but there was no way Ivy was about to let that happen just had she’d begun to open herself to the idea of a future with him leading to a rollicking adventure in hell. And after finishing Demons With Benefits, I can’t wait for the brooding and grumpy Belial’s story.

Everything about this book was amazing from start to finish. The enemies to lovers vibes to the mmc being an art boy I just devoured this book. Run don’t walk to check out this book

Love this series and characters. Funny and swoony. I really enjoyed this story with Iris a d Meph. They both grew so much on their own journeys and together.

This story was fun! I liked the friends with benefits aspect and Meph’s hidden passion for art/relationship with Jackie. Every bit of this book led into huge character arcs, and the spicy scenes were also written very well!

Thank you to Kensington for an early copy!

✔️ Found family
✔️ Banter that bites
✔️ A fierce, flawed heroine
✔️ Demons hot enough to melt your Kindle
But Demon With Benefits came in swinging with more feels than I bargained for (pun fully intended). Within the first few chapters, my heart was already breaking. These two messes—Meph and Iris—say all the wrong things, avoid the truth like it's cursed, and basically trip over their trauma trying to find their happy ending. Spoiler alert: they get it—but wow, what a ride.

Plot-wise?
Iris is lost. Her twin’s living her best witchy, soul-mated life, and Iris is just... stuck. No powers, no path, and no patience for the demon who won’t stop flirting with her.

Meph is a master of sarcasm and self-sabotage. Behind the smirks and snark is a guy holding way too much pain, and his favorite coping mechanism? Pushing Iris’s buttons. This book gave me angst, healing, love, and laughter—and reminded me why I’ll always show up for this demon crew.

I was hooked on the banter, the spice, and the emotional trauma. The character development was great! The pacing was spot on. Meph is and always will be my favorite. He’s the youngest demon brother with a devilish grin that hides a lot of darkness. I just wish we got to see inside Meph’s human mind a little bit more! The camaraderie between Meph, Belial, Raum, and Ash is always the strong family connection vibes which I absolutely adore. While Iris can be frustrating at times, her growth feels earned. And eventually my annoyance with her faded and she began to grow on me. I do enjoy the carry over of characters between books. It adds depth to the story and connects the books very well.

Already counting down to the next book. 👀🔥
Bring on Raum 👏👏👏

Aurora Ascher does it again. This series just keeps on getting better and better and while it wraps up the story of this book nicely, knowing who and what the next book is about you can see the threads that can be pulled in the later stories. I love how each of these books so far has touched on a different art form and that the main character is invested into. The first art is music, the second it is mentioned that Lily is into making clothing, and in this book our MMC is into 3D art and sculpting. I feel like this give the characters even more depth and something that the audience can connect to. When it comes to the book itself while I still an not 100% on board with how the book is narrated and the POV switches, I am getting more used to it with each book and I like the fact that we get to see inside everyone's heads and not just the one character. The journey these characters go though is amazing and the author really does a good job at showing the growth of the characters. Thank you Net Galley for the ARC.

Demons with Benefits sounds simple right? A demon and a witch become friends with benefits and we all know where that leads right? Wrong! Aurora Ascher took my expectations and tossed them out of a hell gate. And then she came back to toss my emotions through as well. This book has humor, depth, charisma, chemistry, and a whole lot more for all the monster lovers out there. But be warned, this one is not mild. So if you are new to the dark romantsy realm or just dipping your toe in the monster lover pool, get ready.
Also favorite quote without any context: "Had the demons damaged their environment? Was there such a thing as underworld climate change?"

I'm always a bit scared to jump on a new series with its latest release but I couldn't imagine better characters to introduce me to this world! I loved Iris and Meph immensely! They were two hard-headed MCs who liked to tease each other endlessly. The banter and chemistry between these two was delicious and I loved their no bs relationship. They were honest about their expectations from the get go, and even when the situation changed, they were able to communicate with each other.

Of course, there's nothing better than an animal sidekick, but what about a cute little demonic puppy dog? Uhm, yes please! Never mind that he's a little terror and will grow up to be the size of a horse 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really loved this book, and as a monster lover, I've also enjoyed the more unhinged side of this story (aka demonic spice 😏😜). I am definitely looking forward to the next book and going back to binge the previous instalments!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the eARC!

We're back in Montreal with the tale of these demon brothers who have escaped from hell. This time, it's demon Mephistopheles (whose most famous exploits with Faust are recounted briefly) and Iris, who we met in the most recent Hell Bent as the intrepid twin sister of our love interest, Lily. I will say that it is better to read these books in order - they all progress the plot of the war that the demon brothers are waging with hell, but in this particular book, it is really helpful to have the context of the sisters' relationship (which was a significant subplot in My Demon Hunter).

I do love how this book is set in the artsy subculture of Montreal and I love that Iris and Lily are Irish immigrants (an underappreciated common experience in Canada). This is also a great book for people who want a fun entry into monster romance. I found it a fun read and appreciate the early copy from Kensington Publishing.

Honestly, this was way funnier than I expected. The sense of humor made the book for me.

Overall, good story. I really enjoyed the second half of the book once the pair had been taken to Hell. Definitely interested in reading the next book in the series!
