Some stories remain timeless, and *Tuck Everlasting*, now reimagined as a graphic novel, proves just that. With beautifully illustrated panels, this adaptation breathes new life into Natalie Babbitt’s beloved tale, balancing whimsy, nostalgia, and the weight of its poignant themes.
From the moment Winnie Foster steps into the world of the immortal Tuck family, the charm and quiet romance of her journey intertwine seamlessly with the underlying tension of the story. What does it truly mean to live forever? The artwork captures the enchantment of childhood wonder, evoking memories of first discoveries and fleeting summers. Yet, the drama and suspense hold readers firmly in their grasp, making each turn of the page a reflection on choices, freedom, and the passage of time.
For those who grew up with the original novel, this adaptation serves as a heartfelt tribute, reigniting the emotions that made *Tuck Everlasting* so unforgettable. Whether you’re revisiting the tale or encountering it for the first time, its delicate storytelling and striking visuals ensure that its message about life’s beauty in its fleeting moments remains just as powerful.

I loved this version of Tuck Everlasting - I’ve always been hesitant with graphic novels but the colors and illustrations were great in this one! Definitely recommend to everyone who loves this story!

Tuck Everlasting: The Graphic Novel is a tender, faithful adaptation of Natalie Babbitt’s beloved novel, with the original text serving as the beating heart of the story. The beauty of this graphic novel is absolutely in Babbitt’s writing—which remains just as lovely, exciting, and insightful as ever.
What’s new here is the artwork by K. Woodman-Maynard. I love the drawing style—it captures emotion and movement really well, and the character expressions add layers of feeling that deepen the story. But I wasn’t totally sold on the watercolor palette. While it adds a dreamy, vintage quality, it also made the story feel a little too washed out for me, almost like the vibrancy of the world faded when I wanted it to come alive.
That said, I’d still absolutely recommend this book, especially to readers who favor graphic novels as a medium. The format makes the story more accessible to younger or more visual readers, and while the colors didn’t fully work for me, the art overall still adds a fresh perspective to a timeless classic.
This is a beautiful companion to the original book. Not a replacement, but a reimagining that honors the spirit of the story while offering something new. A perfect pick for readers who love quiet fantasy, philosophical questions, and stories that stay with you long after you close the book.
Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group | Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR) for this free, advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Tuck Everlasting: The Graphic Novel will be published September 2, 2025.

This is fantastic! I was worried that the magic of Tuck Everlasting would be lost when it was released as a graphic novel but I was wrong. The story is still as moving as it was in full text form. What I loved most about this book is that as a teacher I have students who are not as able to read amazing stories because the amount of text gets in the way. This format makes the story much more accessible for students who struggle with the sheer quantity of text in a chapter book. I will be getting a reading group set of this version as soon as it publishes.

I love this novel and was so excited to see a graphic novel adaptation! The story was just as enchanting as the original, and the artwork was beautiful. Loved this! My middle school students love graphic novels and I am so excited to recommend this to them.

The way I SCREAMED when I got approved for this ARC! I absolutely adore this novel, and have always been a huge fan of the story of Tuck Everlasting. From binge reading it, to binge watching the movie this is one of the most nostalgic stories for me. This graphic novel is GORGEOUS and so beautifully illustrated. It added such great elements to the story and I honestly am so jealous that this is not the first time that I have picked the story up. I hope this release rejuvenates the knowledge of youth on this novel.

The illustrator did a fantastic job of capturing and bringing the characters to life. I love the choice of color palette. I wish this were around when I had to read it for school.

The illustrator did an amazing job brining one of my favorite stories of all time to a visual medium. The emotions of the characters really came through, and it was visually beautiful. I highly recommend this if you are a fan of the original novel or if you’ll be experiencing the story for the first time.

This was a wonderful graphic novel version of Tuck Everlasting. I thought the artist did a great job capturing the characters- it was wonderful to see a beloved story come to life. I think this would be my preferred version that hopefully I will read with my daughter when she is old enough.

3.5/5
I read this when I was in elementary school and I've always loved the story except for the 'romance' that was shoved in here between Winnie and Tuck. Like she's a literal child? Other than that, this was a beautiful illustrated adaptation of the novel. The artwork really brought back that nostalgic feeling of when I first read the novel and the placement of the text within in nature was very clever. Winnie was excellently done and it was a wonderful remake of the classic.

What a beautiful graphic adaption of a classic! I loved the color palette that was used and the interpretation of each of the characters. This is a wonderful way to relive such an amazing book.

I forgot how much I loved this story. It has been several years since I've read the original but I felt like it all came back to me as I began reading. It translated perfectly into a graphic novel. I loved the layout and the artwork style. It is so beautiful and engaging. I am so excited for the new fans this will bring to the world of Tuck Everlasting. Now I am off to reread the original and watch the movie.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. It’s been a bit since I’ve read this book and the graphic novel was a nice refresher. The watercolor pictures were a nice touch. That’s the question, if you could live forever, would you? Winnie realizes she could live forever but would she want too?

As a school librarian who first read Tuck Everlasting in middle school and fell in love with its timeless themes, I was thrilled to see it adapted into a graphic novel by K. Woodman-Maynard. Graphic novels often help reluctant readers connect with stories they might not otherwise pick up, and this adaptation beautifully opens the door for a new generation to experience Natalie Babbitt’s classic. The illustrations capture the heart of the story while making it more accessible, especially for visual learners.
What impressed me most was the art style and coloring choices. Rather than following the trend of bold, bright palettes seen in many modern graphic novels, the muted, earthy tones used here perfectly match the story’s nostalgic and reflective mood. It brings the same emotional weight I felt when reading the original. This adaptation remains true to the thought-provoking nature of the story, especially the central question: is living forever truly a gift? I will definitely be adding this to our school’s library once it is published—it’s a powerful addition for readers of all kinds.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of the graphic novel adaptation of Tuck Everlasting through NetGalley, and I am absolutely blown away. This is more than just a retelling; it's a visual feast that breathes new life into a beloved classic.
The first thing that struck me was the sheer beauty of the graphics. Each panel is a work of art, and the way the text is integrated into the illustrations feels organic and intentional, enhancing the visual storytelling rather than feeling separate. The color palette is exceptionally vibrant, far richer and more captivating than what I've seen in many other graphic novels. It truly brings the magical and timeless quality of the story to the forefront.
Fans of the original novel will be delighted to see how faithfully the story has been adapted. The heart and soul of Tuck Everlasting remain intact, making this a wonderful way for both longtime readers and newcomers to experience this poignant tale.
Overall, this graphic novel adaptation is a triumph. The stunning visuals and faithful storytelling make it a must-read. Highly recommended!

I have always loved Tuck Everlasting the book, when I saw this on NetGalley I knew I wanted to read it. The drawings were done beautifully and the story was wonderful again to read. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it for anyone who loves the book. It was an easy and fun read. One of my favorite books this year.

One of my all-time favorite novels! The artwork is stunning and adds a new depth and layer to the story. Will definitely be buying a copy for my personal library and for my classroom!

Absolutely stunning. Tuck Everlasting and its adaptations have always been favorites of mine, and this graphic novel is no different. The illustrations are wonderful. I love the soft colors. The text was well adapted too, keeping many of my favorite quotes and staying true to the original themes. I absolutely recommend this graphic novel to anyone who loves the original book, and to anyone discovering it for the first time!
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Children's for the beautiful ARC of this book!

I really loved this book when I was a child and it stayed with me throughout the years. I was so grateful that I got an early copy of the graphic novel. The illustration in the book was amazing and they really enhanced the book. One thing that bugged me was the age gap which I didn’t remember from when I read it when I was younger for some reason I thought the FMC was older.

I enjoyed reading the book. I think it is a good adaptation from the novel. I enjoyed the pictures and the different graphic styles throughout the book. I think this could be a great lead in to reading the full novel and or a great we for people to enjoy the classic who wouldn’t have otherwise.
