The writing sometimes in the books was difficult to read, as someone who is dyslexic. It may not bother you, but I kept having to the turn my phone around to read some of the writing. That was my only compliant. This is so nice, the art style was nice to see, I was worried it would be childish but it is nicely for all ages. They kept a good amount of the writing in the book and did not have to cut a lot out with having it interfere with the importance of the storyline. My kids will love to read this, I am glad to see more selections in the graphic novels especially those with difficulties reading, dyslexia, or lower attention span. This will be a hit.

This has always been one of my favorite books. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this beautiful illustrated version. I was in awe while reading. What a beautiful piece of art.

firstly, thank you to the publisher for an arc!
“life’s got to be lived, no matter how long or short. you got to take what comes. we just go along, like everybody else, one day at a time” 💔
all of the stars — i can remember reading the original novel back in the third or fourth grade during independent reading time, and it had such a huge impact on me back then. the emotions held up over a decade later.
the art in this graphic novel was absolutely stunning — i adored the water colors, and the color palette the artist chose, and it made reliving this story all the more special.
an absolute read for all ages, and be sure to have tissues nearby❤️🩹

This was ok. Some of the graphics were a little weird. Not my favorite.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’ve been a fan of this story for a long time, so when I saw there was a graphic novel of it coming out, I knew I had to request it.
Tuck Everlasting makes for such a great graphic novel, and I think this one is probably my favorite middle grade graphic novel I’ve ever read.
The way this was illustrated was so beautiful, and I loved how some panels integrated the words with the artwork rather than white text bubbles every time text was displayed.
It’s funny, just now at 31 am I practical enough to finally understood why Winnie doesn’t drink the water. I vividly remember being 9 years old reading the original book for the first time, borderline mad at Winnie for not wanting to be with Jesse and the Tucks forever.
This was a beautiful portrayal of a classic and beloved story that I think will find a whole new generation of fans due to this graphic novel.

There’s something quietly magical about this graphic novel adaptation of Tuck Everlasting. As someone who’s loved the original for its timeless reflection on life, death, and the bitter-sweetness in between, I found this version to be more than just a retelling—it’s a visual poem.
The illustrations are breathtaking. Every panel feels like a watercolor dream, evoking that hazy, golden stillness of a summer you once had—or wish you did. The way the text is sometimes woven into the art itself feels like the story is not just being told, but lived. The emotional weight of Winnie’s journey, the mystery of the Tucks, and the ache of time standing still—all of it comes through with a kind of softness that invites you in and gently holds you there.
What I found especially moving was how the artwork preserves the contemplative tone of Natalie Babbitt’s original writing, while also adding new dimensions. Small visual choices—like the way the landscape stretches, or how the sky shifts color—mirror the emotional landscape of the characters. It deepens the experience in a way that feels fresh and reverent at once.
Whether you're already in love with Tuck Everlasting, or discovering it for the first time, this graphic novel is a gift. A quiet, golden, unforgettable one.

This is a beautiful version of Tuck Everlasting, it's stunning visually and brings the original story to life in a wonderful way. The art in this story is captivating, and it captures the tone of each different part of the story.
The graphics in this novel add dimension to an already loved story. I have to say one of my favorite parts about the art was the words written into the art, it made the story feel like it was coming alive. I especially loved the interview between the artist and the author's daughter at the end. It was touching to read and made the project even more special.
If you love seeing your favorite stories come to life I would recommend you pick this up! Thank you to the publisher for providing an advanced readers copy via Netgalley in Exchange for an honest review.

I have never felt like "I have ARRIVED" as an ARC reader quite as much as getting approved to read the graphic novel adaptation of Tuck Everlasting. So, deep thanks for Macmillian and NetGalley for the opportunity to read it.
For most of my childhood, Tuck Everlasting was my favorite book. I fell in love with the whimsy of the story and spent many days wishing I could enter into this world.
I was nervous to read the graphic novel because I wanted it to do justice to the book, which I haven't read in many years, but still carry a deep affection for.
When this releases, I am buying three copies: one for me, one for my daughter (as she is the age I first read the original), and one because I may need to frame some of the absolutely STUNNING artwork, done in watercolor, through out this new interpretation.
I also loved that the end includes a "behind the scenes" at the making of this absolutely beautiful homage to Natalie Babbit's classic.

I wanted to revisit a beloved childhood story when I saw this graphic novel. I was stunned from the beginning because I forgot how beautiful the writing is. This is a short and simple but very powerful story that makes you think about life in a totally different way. The illustrations are gorgeous. I can't wait until this is published because I know someone who's going to love this just as much as I do.

My teacher read the original Tuck Everlasting to us when I was in fourth grade, and even back then, something about it stuck with me. I never really understood why—until now.
Revisiting the story through this graphic novel adaptation as an adult completely opened my eyes. The emotion, the depth, the questions it asks about life and time—it all hit me so much harder this time around. I cried. The watercolor artwork is stunning, and it adds this quiet, bittersweet beauty to the story that makes the whole thing feel timeless.
This version reminded me exactly why the story stayed with me all these years. It’s just as powerful, just as magical, and maybe even more meaningful now. Thanks Mrs Weiss for reading me the original so I had this chance to be touched by a the story all over again as an adult.
And thanks to Macmillan Children's Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC to review.

This graphic novel edition of Tuck Everlasting is incredibly well done. The art alone is fantastic. You can tell the artist cared deeply about keeping close to the original story and their art style works so well with the book. I was completely mesmerized by their skill and artistry. I also really loved the added interview at the end with Natalie Babbitt’s daughter and the artist.
This is a must have for fans and collectors of Tuck Everlasting.

I still remember the feeling of reading tuck everlasting with my fourth grade class and being totally swept away by it. The drawings in the graphic novel brought it to life in a way that felt so special to me and brought me back to that special time in my youth when I'd first read it. Thank you so much net galley for the arc

I have loved the story of Tuck Everlasting for as long as I can remember. In 4th grade, I watched the film. In middle school, I read the original story. In high school, I was part of my school's production of the musical. Now, as I am nearing the end of my Master's degree, months away from teaching in a middle school classroom, I had the wonderful opportunity to read Tuck Everlasting: The Graphic Novel.
This novel combines everything that I've loved from the previous formats of this story. The story's beautiful imagery, crafted by the late Natalie Babbitt, is made accessible to all readers through K. Woodman-Maynard's stunning illustrations. The story was a wonderful adaptation, and the choice of using watercolor perfectly matched, if not enhanced, the nostalgic vibes of the story. This graphic novel was an absolute joy, and I plan on purchasing it once it is published.
Thank you to Macmillan Children's Publishing Group-Farrar, Straus and Giroux and NetGalley for the ARC. This book is set to be published on September 2, 2025. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group; Farrar, Strauss, and Giroux (BYR); Natalie Babbitt; and K. Woodman-Maynard (adapter and illustrator) for the opportunity to read Tuck Everlasting: The Graphic Novel in exchange for an honest review.
For those familiar with the children's classic, this is a gorgeous, true-to-text adaptation with beautiful watercolor artwork to depict the characters.
Winifred Foster is a ten-year-old girl whose family owns the nearby forest. On an excursion into the woods, she runs into a seventeen-year-old boy, Jesse Tuck, who is drinking from a spring by a tree in her family's forest. Jesse emphasizes that she cannot drink from the water. Winnie gets mixed up in the Tuck family, who share with her the spring's secrets to immortality. Only ten, the family must emphasize to this young girl how important it is to not share this secret. Tuck explains to Winnie the cycle of life, and how they are pulled from that, no longer a part of the wheel.
The novel explores the concept of mortality to a young person, something Winnie mentions she has never had a conversation as such before. There is also an emphasis on the circle of life and how all things play a part, and if people were to gain immortality, there wouldn't be a place for them because both the positives and negatives would no longer apply in their lives. This novel makes for a great lesson for adolescent readers regarding the topic of life and death, as well as right and wrong. A whole-hearted worth-while adaptation.

This graphic novel perfectly encapsulates all if the important themes of the original novel. The art work matches the atmosphere seamlessly. Enjoyed reading this very much!

Gah I loved this graphic novel so much! It’s brings back all the nostalgia of the original book, but with beautifully depicted artwork that brought so much more to the story.
I’m not someone who likes to reread books often so I appreciate that this book allows me to relive the story without having to read it in its entirety, but at the same time I feel that if this were to be read on its own, without having read the original story, readers still get an amazing experience. The overall theme of the story is perfectly depicted despite being shorter than the novel.
The art is beautiful and I loved that the writing was often depicted in the landscapes. Often time I feel as if the word bubbles can interrupt a story within graphic novels, but instead incorporating the writing into the art was truly special.
Lastly, I love that this graphic novel can be enjoyed by anyone of almost any age. The writing isn’t terribly hard to read so that younger audiences can fully appreciate the story as well as the art and older audiences can quickly read over this for the nostalgia of the original novel (such as myself).
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! All opinions are my own.

Absolutely outstanding!
The graphic novel adaptation of Tuck Everlasting is bringing the story we loved as children to a new generation in a phenomenally well done way. The art is gorgeous and there are beautiful touches throughout that show the artist not only respected and appreciated the source, but in fact loved it. The big stand out for me in this adaptation was the side-profiles of characters to express their opinions on life and death. So artistic and so stunning!
Just when you think it couldn't get better, waiting at the end is a conversation between the artist (K. Woodman-Maynard) and Natalie Babbitt's daughter Lucy that nearly brought me to tears.
When I saw this arc available on Netgalley, my inner-child completely lost her mind! I'm talking kicking and screaming to get the chance to read this, and I did! Wow am I so ecstatic that I did!

Tuck Everlasting is one of my all time favorite stories and this adaptation was lovely! The art is well done and fits the whimsy and youthful vibes of the story perfectly. It brings the story to life in a new way and I will absolutely be buying a physical copy.

I first read Tuck Everlasting in 6th grade and it quickly became my favorite book. I read it so many times growing up and never got tired of the story, the characters, or the way it made me think about life and choices.
Reading the graphic novel version brought me right back to that time. It felt like being a kid again, completely wrapped up in a book I loved. The artwork is gorgeous and really captured the heart of the story. It felt like seeing the world of Tuck Everlasting come to life in a new way.
If you loved the original like I did, this graphic novel is definitely worth picking up. It’s nostalgic, beautifully done, and such a great way to revisit a classic.

I love the story of Tuck Everlasting so I was very excited when it was announced that it was coming in a graphic novel. The colors are very vibrant and flows great with the 50th anniversary of the debut of the book.
